I'm assuming this isn't supposed to drop

How does BreakPlugChance work? On this server i play on it's set to 1% instead if the default 2%, but with 12 iron splitter plugs (6x6x6) I quarried 11 times and end up having 7 left, so I lost 5 plugs.

#

1% but having them break so often doesn't sound right

#

Could the break chance be applied for the entire set in use, instead of per each individual plug? If that's how the code is

civic heron
civic heron
naive rivet
#

Uhm not sure as I don't have config files, could you check this out? @tough orbit I don't have understanding of the code for the plugs :x that just came up in conversation

#

Because there are also players who only lost 1 iron splitter plug after 37 slabs... very rng

civic heron
#

Well. It's random anyway. It's hard to do anything about it. Even if you toss the coin with 50/50 chance, you can still get head 100 times in a row 🤷‍♂️

#

I can just add durability instead of random to make it more fair

civic heron
#

Added optional plug durability in v3.1.3

So as long as you use all 10 plugs youve got, they should all take the same damage and continue to stack?

tough orbit
#

if you place down and break a damaged plug, it drops a fully repaired plug.

#

could the durability be configurable for each type of plug?

Stone slabs of the same type of stone and amount don't stack on 3.1.3. Was that fixed in the newer 3.1.4?

naive rivet
#

😔 mine do not... why

civic heron
#

The stack size depends on the stone slab size. Giants don't stack. But you can also use a mining bag for them

naive rivet
#

Ohhh yeah it's the giant stone slab. Has 216 limestones

Updated from 3.1.2 to 3.1.4 today. (Game is still on v1.18.7 net4.)
Previously, everything worked as expected.
Starting today after updating the mod, plugs that get dropped after quarrying end up as their "hammered" versions and further typed by directional orientation. Placing these down keeps them in hammered form (so it only takes one hammer strike on any plug to break the block). If I place and then break one, it is still in hammered form, but its orientation is changed according to the way I put it down.

#

I can report this on GitHub if you like.

ornate galleon
#

Is there a technique or a specific hammering order to follow to avoid getting small slices of rock?

#

Sometimes, when excavating a 5x5x5 area, I'll get a few 5x5x1 slices instead of a big chunk. I haven't managed to pinpoint what causes this.

red pewter
ornate galleon
#

Unless I misunderstood your method?

red pewter
#

No it's correct.

ornate galleon
#

And you never get an incorrectly small slice that way? That's strange.

red pewter
#

do you might have incorrectly rotated plugs?

ornate galleon
#

I don't think it would work at all if they were incorrectly rotated

red pewter
#

it will work but 100% gives slices

#

but i guess you're doing it right

#

if you can replicate it maybe we can fix it

ornate galleon
#

I'll try to. It will be in the next few days.

ornate galleon
#

Hello 🙂
I found the source of my issue, it's super simple. The volume to be deleted is registered when hammering the very first plug, so I got sliced only when placing and hammering the plugs in sequence instead of placing all and hammering all:

#

So "not a bug", just how it works. I'll be careful about that.

ornate galleon
#

If you wanted to fix that, a possible approach would be to make it so that hammered plugs communicate with their neighbour plugs upon update, and recalculate the volume based on the info they transmit.

sharp berry
red pewter
#

I woudn't change it

ornate galleon
#

To make slices: set all the plugs on one side, set the plugs of the other side one by one and hammer between each plug so that subsequent plugs are ignored.

Hi, How could I change the amount of drop per 1 quarried block with different tools? (for eg. I want to get more stone with rubble hummer than ashlar blocks with wedge chisel)

versed imp
#

Hello, i dont know if this is the correct place to mention this. But i found a incompatibility and wanted to find out if others have this problem too? The incompatibility seems to be between Chiselmod and Quarry. When Quarry is installed and i dare to touch the placed slabs with my body it triggers something in the chiselmod and therefore crashing it. I posted this in both mods because those are both big mods which could be interesting for both of them because maybe its something related with other bugs etc. Attached the crash log but keep in mind only the triggered method of the chiselmod is in there. It is tested that it almost always happens if i touch a placed slab or look between the block border and the actual model.

civic heron
agile stone
#

Just a heads up there seems to be a problem with the finishing chisel cause it's hard crashing the game

#

no error log, just crash directly to desktop

#

If I don't hold down the mouse button it seems to be fine, but if I hold down the mouse button to make a bunch of polished stone it sharts itself

agile stone
#

ok uh, its not the chisel. just getting too close to the slab crashes the game.

civic heron
#

Do you have logs after the crash (before restarting the game)? I can't reproduce it

agile stone
#

It didn't produce a log, not sure

#

or at least the window that is supposed to tell you there was a crash doesn't open

#

I disabled all other mods just to be sure its not a mod conflict but it still kills the game

#

Yeah it's not creating a crash log at all. I just checked my folder and the last crash was from 2 days ago

#

I'm on pre 6, maybe that might be the issue?

#

the rubble storage item is also crashing wtf

civic heron
#

Do you use latest SQ? For pre?

agile stone
#

yes I'm using 3.4.0

#

everything seems perfectly functional it's just when I get too close to a stone slab or rubble bin the game just freezes and quits

versed imp
agile stone
#

no

#

I tested it with no mods other than stone quarry and it still crashes

versed imp
#

oh ok thats actually interesting. So maybe my experience is not purely a the other mod is at fault and maybe indeed a quarry mod problem

long olive
#

The crash with v3.4.0 looks to be due to a stack overflow from the recursive call here: https://github.com/DArkHekRoMaNT/StoneQuarry/blob/e96969f7837dbea7b365da5d9eb1854cca95fe0a/Block/MultiBlockBase.cs#L87

I fixed it locally for wife and I's private server, though I am unsure if below is an actual fix. Not really sure how this new method in IMultiBlockInteract is supposed to be used, honestly.

public virtual BlockSounds GetSounds(IBlockAccessor blockAccessor, BlockSelection blockSel, ItemStack stack, Vec3i offset)
        {
            BlockSelection blockSelectionClone = blockSel.AddPosCopy(offset.AsBlockPos.AsVec3i);
            return base.GetSounds(blockAccessor, blockSelectionClone, stack);
        }

#

Hey is there a min/max dimension for splitting? Rn I'm using copper and it says 3x3x3 as one of the the dimensions (I forget the other one) but could I split of a honking 12x12x12 if I just had enough splitting components? Or would I need to section it out into the 3x3x3 sizes?

near sundial
#

3x3x3 sounds like all of the dimensions (unless you're playing some kind of crazy mod) so with a 12x12x12 block, you'd have to chisel it out in the smaller sections.

You could get more copper plugs and arrange them in a 3x3 by however many long pattern to maybe speed things up a bit, but you'd still be cutting 27-block chunks out in the end.

short venture
#

Yeah I haven't used the mod yet, just smithing the parts right now. So what you're saying is that to cut out a 12x12x12 cube (LxWxH) I would need to do it in segments of 3x3 (widthxheight)?

near sundial
#

Yes, with copper tools at least.

Steel would let you cut out the whole thing in one go. I forget what some of the intermediate levels are, but better metals have better 'performance' as far as how many blocks you can cut out at once.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if this mod is too OP for my friends and I's server. Can anyone tell me how many polished stone this mod gives you from a single block worth of stone slab?

wild topaz
#

So if you quarry a 6x6x1 area, you'll get 36 blocks inside the item that drops.

Then you use the right chisel to get a max of 36 polished blocks

So same as vanilla yields but you gotta use special tools and stuff that's way faster IMO, but it's still the same yield as before

You can't mine 36 blocks and get 72 out of it

How many stones minimum is it for the giant stone slabs?

shadow parrot
#

When I'm placing plugs, do they have to be placed beside each other? If I want to do the max 4x4x4 slab with my bronze plugs, where do I need to place the plugs?

indigo vessel
# shadow parrot When I'm placing plugs, do they have to be placed beside each other? If I want ...

Yes, they need to be lined up with each other

For the 4x4x4, you have to mine the FACE of the slab you want. So, 16 blocks. Mine a line, 4 up, and then 4 to the sides until you've mined it flat. Then, you wanna go ABOVE, usually I make ladders, and dig a tunnel above the slab I want. So, I place ladders to the left of the face I just mind (on the WALL to the left, not on the face itself), I mine 2 blocks up (because the face is 4 blocks tall, it's a total of 6 blocks high), the two blocks after the face is so I can walk through the tunnel- because you then need to dig TOWARDS the slab, mining 4 blocks forward. This would leave the slab to the right of you. So, you dig to the right, 4 blocks out of the tunnel. This would be the TOP of the slab.

So you've mined the face of the slab, and then a lil tunnel above the slab itself. Finally, you place 4 plugs in the floor of the tunnel, all lined up, and go back down and place 4 plugs on the LOWER blocks of the face. This would be the whole 4 (wide, part of what you mined for the face) x 4 (tall, also part of the face) x 4 (long, which is why you dug the tunnel outside of the slab, to reach the end of it, 4 blocks, and then put the plugs alongside, parallel to the plugs on the face)

#

I'm sure I've explained this terribly but it's hard to do so without images

#

I'd recommend a quick YouTube search, there's a tutorial

shadow parrot
#

ahh ok, so you more stone you want to mine the more plugs you need. I was hoping that as the size scaled the amount you needed would stay the same

indigo vessel
#

Nah unfortunately it scales

#

If you have a 7x7x7 plug you gotta mine 7 tall, 7 long and 7 wide to at least place the plugs

#

Now that I think about it you don't really need to mine the entire place

#

Just smooth it out to place the plugs continuously

shadow parrot
#

but you would need the 14 plugs to put along that slab wouldn't you?

indigo vessel
#

Ok so

#

On the stone you wanna make the slab

#

You need to place 7 plugs horizontally on the BOTTOM

#

Then you wanna place 7 plugs almost on the opposite DIAGONALLY, so still horizontally, but on the TOP of the slab

#

That would be your 14 plugs total

shadow parrot
indigo vessel
#

You hammer it all and the slab would fall

indigo vessel
#

It's all a matter of repetition

shadow parrot
#

I was hoping that the scale of the plugs would increase as the mats got better so you only ever needed a set amount no matter the material

indigo vessel
#

If you want hundreds of stones to quarry out of, it's more space efficient to mine a huge 7x7x7 slab than many 4x4x4

shadow parrot
