I watched recordings a long time ago about floor patterns and this is what I noted.

my character will "snap" to my true tile, and then I will spend a tick or two on that tile to do the attack animation

tl;dr how many ticks do I spend standing there attacking with the CG weapons, and how far many tiles back should the nados be for me to be 100% safe
