I've been developing my own plugin for RuneLite. Question being.. is there a preferred / Jagex approved way of doing said testing of the development in game? My plugin largely takes bank information and interacts with the grand exchange. I don't want to raise any flags by performing testing through development, but I'm kind of unsure how to test without interacting with the main game itself. Making sure I'm doing everything right. I'm using my main which is probably dumb, but just want to ask here.

When using the XP Drop plugin and using offensive prayers they don't change to blue or any color I set when I have a exp drop with a offensive prayer active. Any idea why this is happening and any idea on how I would fix it?

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

hey, i have a bit of an edge case: runelite running on a linux laptop (aur install, openjdk, kde plasma) with a 4k display. because it's a laptop display, the 4k scaling makes the settings configuration menu almost unreadable. the integrated stretched mode plugin can scale the game to an extent, but the rest of the window interfaces won't inherit scaling from the desktop environment for some reason. i've dug around in the settings for an answer, but haven't been able to find anything yet. i'm thinking maybe i missed a setting already in place in the graphical menu, or some special configuration or launch option is required. would anyone be able to assist?

Has anyone else been having issues with game audio turning off and having to restart client to get it back? Started happening to me right around the audio rework. I feel like it is consistently happening now. Im mostly playing hc and have my main runelite opened too which I open my main after hc usually. I put my pc into sleep mode than when I come back and start it up my hc clients audio will stop working but my mains audio still works.

Just went into sleep mode and both clients are working but I opened main first and closed it last probably not related but I guess it is not consistent and might need to be shutdown for longer periods or thats just not related to whatever this audio bug is

My screenshots button and automatic screenshots seem to intermitently stop working. I'll click the screenshot button on the client frame and no screenshot appears. Also, when it does work sometimes I get the correct auto-screenshot behavior (clues, boss kills, etc.) and sometimes I'll get a bunch of files that all have the correct file names but all have the wrong, unrelated, and same image. This has been a thing that's happened to people for a while. The client doesn't always handle waking from sleep/hibernation 100% gracefully. We recommend always closing your client when you aren't actively using it to prevent weird issues from popping up

I'm in the process of switching to Hyprland on Linux at the moment, and the one big thing that's been holding me back from fully making the switch is that Runelite only shows a black screen on Wayland. I've been trying to experiment with environment variables that force JVM to render through something other than OpenGL (I'm at least, like, 30% sure that's the problem), but I run Runelite through bolt-launcher and I can't seem to figure out how to pass environment variables to Runelite itself. I could be wrong but I think bolt-launcher is sanitizing the environment before launching Runelite.

Any Linux users here who might be able to help me figure this out?

I have never used hyprland and had to google it but fwiw i exclusively play on Wayland machines and have never had that specific issue, also using bolt through both aur and flatpak

Anyone have any tips for RuneLite crashing when changing instances? I looked at the log files, but in not a CompSci type of person, so interpretting is like reading Greek. I do see a java out of memory issue, tried to install latest java version and no luck. Anything else I could potentially review in there?

Ive had issues when teleporting to prif before, but that was generally mitigated by zooming close in so didnt have to render as much, but this is happened when doing TOA and changing rooms.

Hi there, my drop log in Runelite seems to have forgotten pretty much everything except the last month or two. I have 1500ish kills on lizardmen shamans for instance, but it only shows the loot from my recent task where I did 70ish. I checked on the website as well and the data isn't there either. I have a Runelite account and I've been logged in throughout on the client.

I did a Google search about this issue and found a Reddit thread which I ironically posted several years ago. It suggested there was a command line that could potentially restore the drop log data. Is anyone knowledgeable about this?

Having some issues with my client today

got home after vacation and had done a windows update before going.

logged into RL today and while it was booting it was taking ages on working with 117.

by the time i got into the game, 117 was not on, most of my plugins and settings were removed.

i imported a saved copy of my profile, and it was showing 117 installed, still took ages to be able to login/boot up, but 117 and other plugins were not there,

I am currently doing a reinstall of both jagex launcher and runelite but having some insanely slow download speeds. (i have restarted router and all, 1gb speed)

i just cant seem to reinstall runelite anymore.

My Runelite client started randomly crashing frequently this morning (maybe about once every 20 minutes), and everytime before that happens the game freezes for about a minute (I cannot perform any actions and my character is not moving, but the chat is still moving and objects and characters around me are as well). One of my clanmates said it could have something to do with the home dir folder but I am unsure what to look for exactly. Is this a common issue?

I checked my CPU and Runelite takes up about 50-60% of the CPU both when the game is running normally and when the crash happens. Also important to note that I play on a Macbook, since that is not as common I felt it was a bit harder to find solutions online. Thanks in advance 🙂

Yeah it is almost exactly like what it looks like when disconecting, except for the little black box on the top left that says you lost connection, that doesn't appear. Once it has crashed, I'm redirected to the login screen with the text "You were disconnected from the server.". However, since there has been not internet issues at all, I'm not sure what the cause is.

I'm completely deaf in both ears and I'm trying to complete inferno.

It's proving difficult without being able to hear metronome and I figured I'd try have an metronome app on my watch and have it vibrate 100bpm, and manually sync it with visual tick plugin.

Sometimes I'm so focused on 1T alternate I am finding it hard to watch the visual tick and sometimes (due to lag) - my watch vibrate is out of sync with the visual tick plugin.

Is there a possible to have a plugin on rune lite that can sync with a smartwatch and perform a metronome vibrate to the game ticks?

Realising it might be a bit more complex than that because it'd require interacting with an app

this isnt at all the 2.4.2 thing, felan is just stupid

2.4.2 is the last launcher which supports macos 10.11 due to upstream bumping the minimum macos version, it doesnt fix a crash, it just fixes it refusing to run at all

its also 4 years old and uses a much older java version

I've wanted to change the idle notifier's prayer low notification sound to something holy-sounding so I'd instantly know what the idle sound referred to, given that other plugins or situations can also trigger the same sound effect. When looking at the wiki for the plugin though it doesnt say how to get the "custom" sound effect to function
