@quasi leaf Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

I often have 2-3 clients open and one account, which happens to be my main, often freezes when I go to logout. When this happens, I have to go into task manager to end the process, which then wipes any settings I made within that session. As said, this is my main and my oldest account, my 2nd alt will freeze up the other two clients when it logs out but it does eventually logout and then my 3rd (newest) logs out without any disruption. From what I can tell, they all have the same plugins, would this be a memory/cache issue or any idea on the problem?

Hi all, I've got a Linux machine where I've someone managed to get Jagex Launcher and Runelite successfully working. The only issue is that every couple of minutes while Jagex Launcher is still open in the background, it will randomly open a web browser to the osrs sailing page. I can get around by closing launcher, but any ideas how to stop it in the first place?

Wondering a bit if a click on foreground Runelite is getting passed to background Launcher.

there is a ton of plugins that can tag npcs. If you did it via the default one and you did "Tag Imp" then it doesn't remember it between client sessions, Tag-All imp would remember the tag

Hey! Seem to have an issue with the report button plugin, more specifically the local time display option. Where does the plugin fetch the time from? It shows the same time as UTC/Jagex HQ, while in reality my timezone is 2 hours ahead. Playing through Bolt Launcher and running Pop!_OS 24.04 if that matters. My system time is automatic based on timezone and it is correct.

I just found a solution. My runelite was installed with Snap and not Flatpak. I reinstalled runelite with flatpak and it's solved.

I now have to transfer all my plugin setups to my new flatpak runelite

hello, im trying to build the runelite client in intellij in developer mode, but can't really find an updated guide for it. just following this youtube video for now.

Hello, recently I have been having some issues with items in my bank tags swapping places with other items when clicking them. It seems that it happens with items that are duplicated and it usually swaps the item with the first one listed in tab. The attached video shows it happening with the prayer potion and the extended antivenom. It probably happens 3~ times a day but its hard to replicate if I try to.

My plugin update was included in the latest Runelite update. If someone installs my plugin while on the previous version of Runelite (i.e. hasn't restarted their client since the new version came out), will they see the updated version of my plugin? Or would they need to restart and update Runelite first?

Normally plugin updates go through within a few minutes of being merged, but I'm not sure if the rollback for that previous version affects that

Whatever version the plugin hub was set to when your plugin was merged is the minimum version of RL for that version of your plugin. You can look at the commit history and see what version it was at: https://github.com/runelite/plugin-hub/blob/master/runelite.version

Did anyone ever figure this one out? I've never used a plugin that explicitly disables fade transitions, but somehow it happened to me and I'm not sure what would've caused it. Basically any time the screen would fade to black, it doesn't (but the minimap does). Things like diving with mermaids in Sailing, using the quetzal, etc. Instead of fading, the screen just sits idle until the fade would've ended and snaps me to the new spot. It doesn't disrupt gameplay, but it looks jank. Just wondering if there's a way to manually reset fade transitions to normal; and then if that doesn't work, I can start looking at plugins to see if somehow one of them is messing with things. (Standard GPU plugin also, if that helps.)

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix my client when maximized, I can click through the title bar to the window behind Runelite? Assuming this has something to do with Windows scaling as I am on 1440p monitor scaled to 125% but as far as I can tell, it's only an issue with Runelite. Hey guys - still having these crash issues i posted a few days ago. I almost went 2 days without the crash after limiting cpu power etc. I've ran memtest and it passed. I do see in the event viewer that I have this Event ID 153 nvlddmkm that was posted about 10 mins after the crash. I'll try to reinstall drivers and maybe disable MPO but not sure if you guys can find out anything more from the most recent crash log.

I also started having crashes a few weeks ago. Both my monitors will turn completely black and freeze my PC every 5-6 hours or so playing (It can happen straight away or after 7-8 hours, it seems random). When it eventually unfreezes, the only application affected is RuneLite which crashes. I tried both legacy gpu and regular gpu and I disabled the NVIDIA App overlay. I also tried on a few different versions of my graphics driver. I did reinstall RuneLite as well, but I reinstalled all my old plugins. Guess I will try with no plugins, but is anyone else having similar issues that managed to fix it?

@languid umbra Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

Hey guys, im having an issue that is quite infuriating, im experiencing lagg spikes, i changed internet providers like 1.5 weeks ago, everything has been fine until yesterday, i went to try to do a ToA like i do everyday and i keep fucking dying to suden 2-3 second spikes that freeze everything, its not fps related its actual lagg

speedtest gives me 2.3gb download and upload, not sure what is up

Consistency probably better than a number. Consistent 80ms ping probably feels better than ping that jitters between 10-70. But yea having time outs is not great

Hey I've run into the same issue as you and have scowered the internet for a solution. Yours is the only one that has seemed to work, but like you, I'm getting ~45 FPS rather than 60 with the high performance GPU option. Did you ever find another way to go back to the Nvidia GPU without bringing the ghost cursor back?

Hey guys, I'm having an issue where I am unable to log into an in-game world through Runelite anymore. I was able to earlier today, where I was sailing with all plugins functional. But from being signed off from being idle 3 hours ago, I have been unable to sign into the game since. The closest I have managed is to turn off all the Plugins, but then I hit the 'play now' page being frozen up. I can sign into a world using the Official Client and through OSRS Mobile.

To find the logs, you can do one of the following:

• If your client failed to open, click the Open logs folder button.
• Open the screenshot directory by right-clicking 📷 Camera button, navigate 1 directory up, then open logs folder.
• Navigate to %userprofile%\.runelite\logs on Windows or $HOME/.runelite/logs on Linux and macOS.

Upload the log files named client and launcher by dragging them to Discord. If there are files prefixed with jvm_crash dated from today, upload them too.

Alright: development - I get to this point if I uncheck every plugin and then try to press login. I will delete everything in the .runelite file and try a clean reinstall again, unless there is an alternative

I tested my account on Runelite on another PC and it loaded in fine, even remembering the same plugin setup etc (RESOLVED - I think clean install plus several restarts finally kicked something back into gear)

Got a new PC the other day and logged into runelite. I logged into runelite on new laptop, killed 1 hydra, decided to go skill for a bit and logged out. Just logged into main desktop this morning and , almost all of my alchemical hydra kills are gone now in loot tracker and on the website. I can still see literally all of the loot data in the runelite folder on my main PC but it's just not showing in tracker anymore.

One thing I did do was duplicated my RL profile and changed some settings to make it fit better on laptop, but even when switching profiles neither of the profiles have the loot. Any ideas?

Since very recently, I have a very weird issue that I believe is linked to the Jagex Launcher, but expresses itself through RuneLite, I was hoping you guys know anything about it.

Symptoms:

• Every world hop has a 20-30% chance of resulting in "Failed to login. Please try again" screen, basically logging me out. From there, the "Try again" button usually works immediately, but sometimes ends up in this screen again for a second time.
• Sometimes when attempting to launch runelite from Jagex Launcher, it gives a fatal error:

Message: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host```

and retrying 1-2 times then fixes it and lets everything load as expected.
When not using Jagex Launcher, it seems like this doesn't happen at all.

Based on my superficial understanding of what's happening, and how similar this issue is to using a VPN and forgetting about it mid-session, it seems like my client's trusted login connection from the Jagex Launcher has trouble transmitting at times? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

My connection is wired Ethernet, 1000Mbit/s, no VPN, with minimal lag.
I have attempted to repair the Jagex Launcher and reinstalling the Jagex Launcher, as well as restarting my router, none of it fixed the issue.
I also tried logging out of and back into Jagex Launcher. This issue persists between PC reboots and over multiple days now.
Hoping someone has dealt with this before.
As a little extra on top, I believe this has been happening since I got bored and installed RS3 through Jagex Launcher, but that has been uninstalled again and the issue persists.

Edit: for some reason this never happens with VPN which is making me question which metric about my "vanilla" internet connection could be causing this?

Ive been getting a weird bug with one of my runelite profiles
switching to it or loading runelite with the profile loaded makes the client freeze.

There were a few errors in the client log from a few plugins so i disabled them and grabbed fresh logs and it seems like there's no errors in the logs anymore. Not sure how to debug this further 😄

My other runelite profiles work fine, just wanna see if there's any saving this profile because ive had a bunch of things set up.

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

ok so i went ahead and favourited all plugins that were on during the crash
then disabled all and loaded new client and that worked
started turning them on one by one and apparently turning on "Inventory Setups" is freezing it everytime consistently haha

whats strange is that i use that plugin in another profile too and it works there 😄

thats the one plugin i didnt want to lose because i got separate things saved there than other profiles

maybe i should clone that plugin and see why its breaking on this profile specifically with some detailed logging 🤔

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone might know the cause of this or how I can go about troubleshooting:

For a while now, when I get to the "click here to play" screen after logging in, there is a 5-10 second delay before I can actually click it. It seems like the client freezes up during this time. I deactivated a handful of plugins to see any of those were causing it, but I can't really narrow it down. It doesn't happen on the official client.

Found the culprit: Turns out it was the Tasks Tracker plugin for leagues. No reason to still have that enabled anyway, glad it wasn't actually one I'm actually using.

apparently the plugin was not handling some "legacy" inventory setups well and getting stuck in an infinite loop trying to serialize with gson lol
