Hi guys. I'm a new player. First time playing this game ever. I just want to ask how do I fix the UI resolution for this game? Its so small for me even in Full Screen it doesn't work properly.
Note that the login screen will always be that small, no matter what options you pick in-game π
If you use stretched mode it will increase the login screen size
At least I assume that's the plugin doing it, it's definitely bigger for me

there's a setting with session in it
we had to enable it by default otherwise people wouldn't know about it
since behind laziness, losing tracked xp was the #1 reason why people never restarted their clients
was this recent? I've had that turned off forever. I've just tried turning it on and off again to see if that restores normal behaviour

You have been logged in too long and should stretch. Jagex wants us to be healthy so they will force you a logout after 6 hours
It's standard and that game forces a logout very shortly after 6 hours. But yes, what Alex said. Go stretch and move about a bit. Sitting in one spot all the time aint too good for circulation and of the like.

It is not uncommon for people to be logged out in a raid from this because they do not pay attention π
to keep a long story short, i have a LOT of group tile man data, can someone help me delete it? Tried it myself but it ended up just breaking stuff
i dont think it offers a way to reset it back to defaults which would reduce the size of the file
so your file may be that size sorta forever

Adam fixed it a couple years ago but i must have been a big dumb and kept the broken one while deleting the fixed one recently π
the one on the hub is archived for the last few years

without them offering a reset override to find the keys and reset them to blanks or remove them, you're basically stuck
we don't tell people to fuck around and find out with that file in any manual manipulative ways
manual editing those files makes them resync from cloud and they're back to being hosed

havent used it in 2 years and this hasnt been an issue for 2 years since it was fixed last time, only thing i can think of is i somehow managed to delete the fixed version but that doesnt explain how the once prken version was able to save 2 years worth of data when previously it couldnt even hold another tile marker
there is no old broken one on the hub, it's only just the current one

the properties file doesnt delete stuff when you remove plugins or disable them, that way when you install it again it picks back up old config for what people had before
its up to the hub dev to add a reset() override to allow a clean slate
Yes this I know. But this hub plugin is bad in the sense it is writing too much data. So this is now a problem for users of this plugin. This is not the fault of the core though

its too big to hold anymore data (or at least that was the problem last time) so any ground markers, bank tags or anything else i make doesnt save and immediately deletes itself once i exit the interface or area

one person has a single 16mb file, the default is like 18kb in size, the largest you typically see is 400kb

With cloudsync off you can manually remove the data from your file then?
your new profile would keep the loot tracker stuff, you'd only need to replicate the tiles/webhooks you got for dink and other niche stuff
when you reconnect it would maybe overwrite it back

telling end users to manually edit a file they dont know where to start with is not a strategy to employ

hello, would anyone know why item names may have stopped showing up in my game? I am playing grid master, i have made sure that my Alt isn't double clicked (they still don't appear when i hold alt), ownership filter is set to all, even highlighted items don't show up

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

I'm using a Mac (Sequoia 16.6) and RuneLite 2.7.5, trying to fork Runelite to contribute to some plugins.
I'm following this Using Jagex Accounts guide but it doesn't seem to be working. When I add --insecure-write-credentials and Save it seems like it isn't being saved.
Does anyone have experience developing on MacOS with a Jagex Account that could help point me in the right direction to get going?

Currently having an issue where resizing my client causes the game to freeze and lose connection. Died twice to Vorkath from opening my runelite plugin to check timers/xp and loot. I'm assuming nobody is awake but posting this in case there are others experiencing the same issue.

I'm finding the individual drops are bugged out but I've never had this issue before this month. I'm killing all recent bosses/general npcs and in some instances it's not even showing the loot I got from kills at all.

logging in to runelite lets you sync your settings to cloud so you can access them on other pcs etc
Could something from gridmaster be affecting my loot tracker now? I don't think I've seen any issues before then
because you have a jagex account, and you can only login on the jagex launcher (that can launch runelite and give it a login token)

Hi, i have a problem with runelite. I use a launcher and i usually play a 2 my accounts. Sometimes i have a lags and shutdown 1 accounts. Today I play only one account and the same problem.

I've been bumping my head into a wall for 2 hours now trying to fix a GPU issue I seem to have but cant find a solution.
Using 117hd plugin (or normal GPU plugin as well), the middle horizontal line of pixels in my game client disappears (black row of pixels at the very bottom and everything propped up 1 pixel). I've tried changing settings on plugin and on nvidia control panel but nothing seems to work. If anyone has any idea...

Is your window scaling in windows set to 100% or another value?

Anyone playing on steam deck?
I've tried the appimage and flatpak and when I over over options in runelite to view the tooltips, the sizing of the window breaks and its very hard to find it usable.
Dunno if this is exactly the best channel to ask. I asked in the steam deck discord about this and I'm hoping to find a fix from either here or there
Runelite isn't the only program that does this to me, its a steam deck game mode issue in general, but I hoped there's something to runelite that can fix it
i'm just playing runelite in desktop mode for the time being

hey im having an issue with ground loot text disappearing after (i think) teleports sometimes. I have to toggle the ground items plugin on/off and then hit alt and it comes back. Anyone know a fix ? Ive restarted client

hey all, i've been having an issue for a couple weeks now where initially as soon as id log in to runelite (via jagex launcher) after a minute or so it would kick me out and say failed to log in then i cant log in for a bit as it says my account is still logged in, i've cleared cache, i've factory reset my laptop, reinstalled everything and now its still doing it but after say 5/10 minutes has passed, any help ? π

Should I be able to see item charges on an Enhanced Quetzal Whistle? I have the plugin enabled but don't even see an option for the whistle in the plugin config. Why isn't this item supported?
It isn't supported because when recharging it there's no message that tells you how many charges it has now. Item Charges Improved supports it

This is just a connection issue
It's been happening for a couple of weeks though and my connection doesn't drop anywhere else?
A problem with the connection between you and Jagex wouldn't necessarily show up for anything else
open command prompt, type this in:
ping -t oldschoolXXX.runescape.com
where the XXX is your world minus 300, for example world350 = 50
You can do that for the world you're connecting to while you try to log in, and look at what it does when you have the issue

I do not know your technical knowledge, and this problem of yours is a networking one from what Dura has understood it be. These are some of the most frustrating ones to deal with in my opinion, because itβs impossible for me to mimic your environment completely from the layer 2 or layer 3 to your application level.
I can only recommend maybe investigating your own personal networking traffic deeper, but this is something many are paying for a course in for understanding, because it is very hard to put into words so that another mind can get the understanding. Itβs not your answer, but itβs an answer
I do not know what port jagex is taking over, but if it is still handled like a web request then maybe 80 or 443
Watch your traffic there
A tool to watch this if you feel brave is Wireshark. There are videos, and Iβm thinking even an Agent can walk you through this better than me

A mouse cursor experiencing jitteriness is not really a Runelite issue, unless it's causing your game to lag; which would be possible for a plugin to do that.

I updated to the newest AMD drivers that released today and it seems to have broken the GPU plugin. Runelite and everything else runs normally, it's just the GPU plugin just does not turn on. Anyone know why the GPU isnt being detected?

Loot tracker not showing recent kills and when it does show kills it's either missing some of them or not in chronological order. Only started happening this month. Could gridmaster affect my loot tracker in main game?

Sorry 2nd time asking: is there a way to make the 'player indicators' plugin totally disregard fc members/friends when choosing what colour to display the name as?
More details:
- In minigames (castle wars, soul wars) by default all your teammates show as blue and all the enemy team show as red
- friends and fc members override this and instead show as green/purple, so you cant immediately tell what team they're on based on the colour
- I want them to just show up as blue/red like any other player (like it would if i left the fc and deleted them from my friends list)
anyone know if this is possible? disabling the friends/fc displays just seems to make their name disappear entirely

hello. my client sometimes freezes up for a minute and a couple times it has disconnected me and saying malformed login packet. it happens when i click off the client and then go back on it, but not every time just sometimes. when i put on safemode this doesnt happen but is there a way for me to know what plugin would cause this without trying every one or maybe someone else has had this problem and can help? started happening yesterday

If you have GPU turned off then it's due to the fact Jagex turned on zbuf. You should report the bug to jagex of where the issue is occuring

Hey guys, just joined the discord. As of yesteday I keep getting a massive lag spike every 5-10 seconds and it eventually lags me out and says "malformed login packet" does anyone know of a fix? It doesn't do this on the normal osrs client, just runelite.

Some people can just have bad ISP's that fail to connect to Jagex's servers.
Sometimes, just waiting it out will resolve the issue.

ground items plugin, i have chaos rune complelety removed from there but it still shows up as "old" highlighted color, i change to a new color to highlight items but i cant get this item to change color, it always pops up as old color
thats just a small piece of the log file, and its an error from the "better" npc highlight plugin. probably not crashing your client

The idea is that if it's a core Runelite issue, then it'll still happen in safe mode
If it doesn't, you get to have fun narrowing down which hub plugin is breaking things

Quest Helper has a Highlight Missing Items option in its' settings, check that once you've done the safe mode check

lmao so i know i'm not crazy but when I recorded it..it was broken..then I watched the recording and in the actual recording it showed the custom cursor as if it wasn't broken? Could this mean it has something to do with my graphics card application that I recorded with? Gonna try and record again and see.

Is Runelite down? Logging in from the Jagex launcher and selecting Runelite, the launcher crashes and doesn't start the game.

i downloaded runelite, made a account, try to login..... and then i get "Incorrect username and password"
it work fine when i login to jagex website but when i try to do it on the runelite client it won't.
btw i have NOT downloaded the jagex launcher and i don't want to, i already have to many other game launcher and i don't need more.
New accounts have to use the Jagex Launcher to launch RuneLite, then you can use RL.
so they straight up force your ass to download jagex launcher. this sucks

Well don't delete it, you need it to login still. You launch RuneLite with it.

the new gpu render causes a crash at kubuntu 25.10. the whole system freezes and when it becomes responsive runelite has crashed.
There is nothing added to the client log after crash.
i made sure to load a new profile up so no plugin is interfering and it happens as soon as i turn on GPU

there was a mesa bug against gpue (which gpu is now using) that was only fixed in mesa 25.2.6

Does the new GPU plugin have "Compute Shaders" on by default? I had to disable it before because I ran into some FPS issues on my M1 MacBook in certain areas of the game, and it seems those have now returned. Underwater my FPS tanks on the new GPU plugin, GPU (legacy) with "Compute Shaders" disabled is stable

Had to join here just to find why my GPU is crashing on Runelite which it wasn't doing like 10 hours ago. It's crazy to push changes that require mesa version from 3 days ago when most distros are not going to update them for a while.
also most versions of mesa before 25.1.7 also work so I dont think "It's crazy to push changes that require mesa version from 3 days ago" is really fair nor accurate
So you either need to have a 3 month old driver or 3 day old one

the issue is that flatpak hasn't updated to the latest mesa version yet and flatpak uses its ownh sandbox for your apps
so even if debian updates, it wont work until flatpak pushes the new version

Heyo, sorry for what is likely going to be a stupid question. I've noticed in the past two days Runelite has seemingly been stuttering/freezing on me very intermittently. Is there any way I can provide like error logs to determine if it's an issue on my end, recent windows update, a plugin like 117 HD, etc?
click the new profile button, double-click to swap to it, and see if it happens there
the logs could say but it's unlikely
maybe sneak in a client restart after u profile swap

hello. this was probably already addressed, but i see no comments pinned, so i'll come out with it as well. i am running runelite via a bolt v0.20.0 flatpak. game starts up ok, clicking "play now" leads me to the lobby ok, but upon clicking on the red "click here to play" button, either the java process crashes, or the entire system freezes. i am running fedora 42, amd ryzen 5 5600x cpu and amd radeon rx 6600 gpu. any help would be appreciated

having issues with cox scout overlay not showing up, i have restarted runelite toggled the chambers of xeric plug in on and off hopped worlds logged in and out nothing working.
its a mesa bug which is fixed in the latest version, you just have an older version

Is there anyway to transfer settings from one instance of Runelite to another?
I am currently running Runelite through Bolt, but it seems the new GPU renderer stops Runlite (and only Runelite, Official OSRS client works fine) from launching past the "welcome back" screen. Using the GPU(Legacy) plugin seems to make it work just fine for now though. Also crashes due to not liking the new renderer does not seem to bring up any crash log.
I wouldn't mind switching over to the actual Runelite program for Linux, since I just downloaded bolt without realizing Runelite had an official Linux version, but I'd rather not have to set up all the plugins the way I like them for a third time.

If you have a jagex account its difficult to make the appimage work, you probably need to use bolt still

I'm currently running Runelite in an appimage, no idea if I even have that folder, and I don't see an "open logs folder" button
For the Bolt RL logs do: bolt settings > general > browse app data to get to .runelite

there is no runelite folder
back up the ~/.var/app/com.adamcake.Bolt/data/bolt-launcher/.runelite/profiles2 directory. in it are the files with your local runlite configs

well, my fedora system also does not have 25.2.6 available from the official repo yet. all these versions are very new. so you can either spearhead the latest and greatest, or await until these channels catch up and use legacy until then

No. The flatpak looks to the system version of mesa. Run flatpak update
are you sure about that? it should be bundled. my system version of mesa is 25.1.9. the one used in runelite is 25.2.4
mesa is just another part of the runtime. flatpak apps are sandboxed and run in an isolated environment. they bring their own deps as part of said runtime

it has been 3 days since mesa 25.2.6 was released. for many, today is a holiday. so, 2 days. the team behind bolt probably just hasn't gotten around publishing an update yet. sailing is coming out in 18 days. there is no cause for alarm. just check for flatpak updates regularly and use the legacy gpu plugin until one arrives
