You can manually add names and color with the NPC accessibility tagger plugin, but that's probably more manual that what you're looking for.

Hi guys, having issues with RuneLite. It keeps randomly becoming unresponsive and I cannot click anything. The program says "not responding" however the game continues running fine besides the fact I cannot click anything at all. Then it kicks my laptop off the internet.
This is an issue related to RuneLite as it's the only game this happens with, any information on how to resolve this?
Can't even launch in safe mode as it instantly disconnects me from the internet

hi I download Jagex Launcher and downloaded Runelite from Jagex Launcher client & after choosing Mac (Intel), it won’t open runelite. It says “Install”

their chat is slightly moved

theres one error for "better" npc highlight breaking but the rest are just connection errors to jagex server
that just sounds like your laptop is losing connection

Which is strange because that only happens when RuneLite causes my laptop to disconnect from the internet
As this error only happens when using RuneLite. Jagex launcher/steam is fine, and no other game presents this issue. So it is definitely a runelite only bug, just unsure whether it is the client itself, a plugin, or whether my laptop is disagreeing with it

ok, probably your router has some kind of ping-of-death protection that is triggered by world hopper figuring out ping for each world
so either in your router options try to find that and disable it, or turn off ping in world hopper options
(i think world hopper has a toggle for that anyway)

the ping of death is from like 90s, so its crazy routers still have that lol
csv was correct, its likely working but its either highlighting it in black or the message is overwriting the highlight and setting it back to black

Thank you Alex! This was correct. It was working but a) it doesn't highlight anything you say, which actually does make sense, and b) you have to set "Filtered highlight" to something other than black. It is now working 🙂

Well, if there's errors in the logs you can provide the maybe it'll be fixed (or at least a cause determined)
Though it is more likely there's some hub plugin interfering with it, as a general failure of the loot tracker would definitely be noticed much more widely 🙂

You can try leaving this ping test running, and wait for the in-game issue to happen, and then see if the ping test shows anything interesting at the same time you saw issues in-game.
open command prompt, type this in:

where the XXX is your world minus 300, for example world350 = 50

If one of your keys isn't working in game, you've most likely bound it to a feature of a plugin. The Debug Helper hub plugin can show what keys are bound to what plugins.
None of my keybinds have ? or %, only the ping uses shift, but other characters that use shift+something are working fine

I've got two clients open, both with different profiles linked to my two accounts. I'm using the Jagex launcher. For some reason, the settings I've changed on one of the accounts aren't saving, and I've got no idea why
they sometimes do, but it's really inconsistent

You should close your client when you aren't actively playing anyway
It avoids some weird issues that can occur if you don't, and it makes sure you're on the latest version

crabbing both my main and iron together
changed some settings on my mains profile but after closing and reopening the client for the update I lost those changes
my assumption is it's something weird like both clients are using the same session, and so the client closed first gets overwritten by the client closed second
and I'm then guessing profiles are saved within the same session so even though the changes were in separate profiles the second client overwrote the inactive profile with the previous version?

the default plugin only offers default, but it allows for hub plugins to add alternatives
so you probably removed or disabled the plugin that was adding it

you literally have a config key that's supposed to be set to 0,1,2 etc, but it's actually set to false
which objectively shouldn't happen lol
You could share your *.properties file in a DM to @haughty pumice and we could take a peek if we see something immediately wrong - although since you say it happens on a completely fresh config it's definitely weird
the properties files can be found in the profiles2 directory under the %APPDATA%/.runelite directory
(next to the logs folder you already found)

I think the best way to figure out what's wrong for you is to follow that flowchart - it's a tedious process if you have a lot of plugins and settings, but it's the only realistic way we can figure out what's causing the issue for you

You've already made a fresh plugin and tested that it works there, so you can skip ahead to the "The issue is caused by a pluginhub plugin or the GPU plugin" step, so you shouldn't have to restart with your current profile

Don't know if this will help but earlier.. when I reloaded the client, the rainbow wave plugin was on and it wasn't even installed

the Jagex launcher only exists in a 32bit form
You can try safe mode and see if your problem persists there though.

Hey guys wondering if anyone has had this issue or knows how to help. I have XCV binded for F1,F2,F3. For some reason my C key keeps getting selected when im using Keyremapping. This issue seems to occur mostly when i am clicking in the inventory but also while idle. Ive noticed after pressing enter to type, C is never selected. C is also not selected in any text box, only while using keyremapping on RL. I have wiped jagex launcher and RL from my computer and redownloaded and the issue has persisted. I have tried using another keyboard and mouse and also searched through all possible windows settings. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
If one of your keys isn't working in game, you've most likely bound it to a feature of a plugin. The Debug Helper hub plugin can show what keys are bound to what plugins.

They can for loop add stuff to an array list per game tick forever and you only would crash after a few hours

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.
Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.
This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

Seems like it happened again, both clients loaded up on the same profile even though they're different accounts
even after logging in it didn't autoswitch to the correct profile

Logs are giving me Better NPC Highlight, Resource Packs, Remaining Casts, and Supplies Tracker as issues. I've never had to increse heap before, but also have never had an issue like this. I'll report back if I pinpoint the problem

Watchdog isn't mentioned in the logs, but scrolling up I do see a few mentions about it, so I'll incinerate that for now as well.
I'm not super savvy on how runelite loads plugins, is turning them off and restarting the client good enough, or should I un-install the plugin?

I got it for levi grind before finding out the method didn't work anymore and then got the lure at like 52kc so I didn't really bother with it after it not working there. So it wont be missed lol

my friend also testing turning off custom menu swaps plugin entirely, and the problem is still present
when he turns off the base runelite "menu entry swapper" plugin, it fixes the problem, so it must be something within that plugin
the "quick pass/open/start/travel" checkbox doesn't seem to affect the behavior, it doesn't work either way

in my clan, most people use the plugin via dynamic config url. what happens though if a member leaves the clan? the bot will keep posting their stuff - can i as lead somehow change that?
Depends on how you serve the dynamic config - if you serve it via a static github URL or something like that, there's not much you can do other than ask them to turn it off
If you host it yourself, you could perhaps turn it off for their user, but this is not really something we've considered before.
If you make a github issue in our repo we can help figure out a solution for you & others who run into the same issue.

Hello, I’m having major FPS drops in specific boss mechanics.
The most recent example is during Verzik Vitur in ToB — when she uses the web-slinging attack in phase 3, my game freezes almost completely. It becomes unplayable and I often get caught in the webs because of it.
I’m using RuneLite with the GPU plugin. My specs:
• RTX 3060
• i5 11th gen
• 32 GB RAM
• Windows 11
I’ve already tried:
• Lowering draw distance
• Turning off compute shaders, anti-aliasing, ground decorations
• Tuning NVIDIA Control Panel settings for RuneLite
But the FPS still tanks only in that mechanic.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any known fixes or workarounds?

Run gradle shadowJar to generate a runnable jar in build/libs/*-all.jar. You can run the jar with java -jar -ea jarName.jar. If you run into problems, update build.gradle to the latest plugin template version.

the easiest thing to do is to dump the JX_ env vars out of the process bolt starts and then feed it back into the client process you launch manually

deactivate, quick-prayers``` to my custom swaps in the custom menu swaps plugin
I play on two different computers daily, one for work and one at home. I recently got a new computer for work and my RL profiles are no longer syncing. I was able to import my settings but any changes I make on one pc I have to manually make on the other. I have the cloud sync option on my home PC but no cloud sync options for my work pc. Any Idea on how to get my profile synced across my two computers again?
where would I find the place to log into my gmail on the new pc runelite
you can take the .runelite folder over and itl have the rl account session in it so you dont have to sign in on the website again

Hi everyone. I've recently started using different profiles mainly for tob. I've noticed that when I switch profiles, certain things become very laggy. The game will stutter and not register my clicks. happens mainly when a new nylo wave spawns, running sote maze and running webs at Maiden. Any ideas what might be causing this?

HDOS does not use our bootstrap, the official client does not use our bootstrap
since it's only the bootstrap, you can usually bypass the error by starting the client while using your phone as a hotspot
and once the client is open, you can swap back to your internet
the internet is just not perfect at all times, there's probably other stuff you can't connect to either, it's just that you don't use any of it

Yeah I get excited, character flaw.
The thing is its hard to lock down in general, I finally figured out how to reproduce it. It depends on the zoom-in level. Zooming in 1 level can do a 10 FPS gain/drop (Something that you wouldnt really notice), but on some levels, zooming in 1 level can increase to ~100 Frames and zooming back out drops it down ~100 frames. Its really odd.
With some levels being so unstable, camera turning or effects can also cause it on certain levels
were there ever reports of malicious plugin or account interception about two years ago?

Hi friends - when i watch osrs youtubers I often hear the "jingle" sound effect when they get a rare of expensive drop. How can I enable this in my game, without also enabling other game sounds (i am a muter)

It seems to be something standard, many people have the exact same sound
Certain newer bosses just have that
I feel like there's also a hub plugin that might do a jingle on high value drops or something
its probably either the newer boss unique jingle, or that sound edited in on older drops
Hello, my Runelite client has suddenly started failing to launch and I am getting the mesasge " there was a fatal error starting runelite". I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both the jagex and runelite client but I am still getting the fatal error to start message. java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Malformed \uxxxx encoding.
i think that might be from your profile being corrupted
so in the window, press "open logs folder" or w/e, go up one, and rename the "profiles2" to something else
you'll lose your settings though

Upload the log files named client and launcher by dragging them to Discord. If there are files prefixed with jvm_crash dated from today, upload them too.
first thing i would recommend is running https://memtest.org/ to check that your RAM is all ok

Can I use run a userbench mark and show the RAM on that?

i dont think for ram it even measures performance, just the amount or something
anyway dont trust userbenchmark for anything
you dont know if ram is the problem until you run memtest
if there was an easier way to check, we would recommend doing that instead

you should install firefox and https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
on chrome they blocked ublock origin from working properly so you can only use some lidl version of it
