Hey all! I am running into an issue with RuneLite crashing on login. The issue is inconsistent, though frequent. Whether an account with a legacy password or a Jagex account, I hit enter/click to login and am met with the lobby screen, roughly 25% of the time the little runes do a 3/4 spin and freezes and I'm met with the RuneLite crash popup. This happens on multiple accounts, different worlds, different locations in-game. If I do get logged in without a crash, I can play perfectly fine with no issues. It's only on login. If I get a sucessful login it is possible for me to log out and try to log in again and get the crash.
Steps I've taken:
Restarted PC
Updated Drivers
Launched RL in SafeMode - same issue
Disabled every plugin - same issue
Uninstalled every plugin - same issue
Any additional steps I can take to troubleshoot? Thank you!

This is a Jagex bug. It's believed to be from that image below You last logged in a minute ago failing to load. They are aware of it. Unfortunatly there's nothing you can do other than keep trying. But once you get past the login screen it should work fine

Not sure what's causing it but once I get near 20k points in Wintertodt, runelite starts stuttering for me and shortly crashes. It's done this at 20k points and at 18k points. I'm not using 117, just the gpu plugin and I have no lag/stutters until I've gotten near 20k points.

I completely understand where you're coming from but "graphically intensive" is a fickle term really. things that seem graphically intensive to the end user may not be that way to the GPU, and certain rendering tech like anti-aliasing can bring any GPU to its knees, no matter the surrounding graphics environment, if devs give you a slider you can crank up enough

This plugin takes midi files and paces each note/instrument directly over each tick (with controllable quantization e.g. every half tick, 64th tick). It can also play any midi files, not just the runescape ost, and also supports soundfonts. None of this is possible with the default runelite player.

Hello, can someone help me? I am using the runelite client through the Bolt launcher by Adam on Linux. I have a 4K monitor and it will not scale with my main system settings. I am using Gnome desktop environment. I utilize stretched mode (100%) but that only makes the game UI bigger, not the actually client's UI. I mean it is microscopic. Everything else I do on my desktop is perfectly legible but this isn't working for me lol. Someone help! 🙁

Ohh you mean the client frame… yeah there’s no way to do that unless gnome offers per-app scaling. Which I don’t think it does and can’t be changed because you’re using bolt which runs the jar with a set command.
Maybe find the setting on Gnome for UI scaling, see if it has an environment variable that can be set, and try to run Bolt with that environment variable

Can anybody help me figure out what my runelite has been doing. My loot tracker reset almost all of my history (from the start of my account) about the time doom boss released. It kept maybe 2 (general graardor and hard clue scrolls) but the rest reset. since then it has randomly been resetting some bosses/creatures (araxytes and demonic gorillas) but keeping most. At the same time this problem started it had uninstalled a lot of my recently installed plugins and reset a lot of my settings for still installed plugins (removing tile markers etc). I have tried logging in and out of runelite and removing any profiles that might cause problems like the faq suggests with no change. I'd love to recover my loot history but if that's not possible i'd at least like to keep any future loot logs without losing it again. Any help will be appreciated

I have also redone a lot of the bosses/monsters and the historic logs have not been there (eg zilyana did not show my previous loot from 350ish kills). The log had reset to 1. For some reason only my hard clues and general graardor have historic logs

Hey I'm running Runelite on Kubuntu using the USA-RedDragon/jagex-launcher-flatpak (listed on https://github.com/TormStorm/jagex-launcher-linux). It's working really well, but I play on a 4K monitor so the plugin sidebar in Runelite is tiny/hard to read. I saw the --configure flag in the docs gives it a scale option and managed to get it running with ~/.local/share/flatpak/runtime/com.jagex.Launcher.ThirdParty.RuneLite/x86_64/stable/active/files/jre/bin/java -jar ~/.local/share/flatpak/runtime/com.jagex.Launcher.ThirdParty.RuneLite/x86_64/stable/active/files/RuneLite.jar --configure
This works, and I can see the Runelite configuration screen. I put 1.4 on the scale and launched Runelite through the Jagex launcher again, but the UI is still very small. Anyone have an idea? I'm kind of stumped.

Actually no, that scaling option doesn't seem to be honored. In my display settings I have it set so X11 Legacy applications can apply scaling themselves. If I tell it to scale by the system, it "works" but as you said, only 2.0 works. Fractional scaling doesn't.
My hope was that runelite's native scaling would support it but maybe not.

If one of your keys isn't working in game, you've most likely bound it to a feature of a plugin. The Debug Helper hub plugin can show what keys are bound to what plugins.

I am using the Bolt Flatpak for Ubuntu and am experiencing crashes when using the GPU Plug-in but not the Experimental GPU Plug-in or the 117HD Plug in. None of the Plug-ins crash when i turn them on before logging in.
I have looked and Bolt went from Mesa 25.1.7 to 25.2.1. I have no idea why it crashes, but it worked fine on 8/28 but not on 9/02

It's not as straightforward as you would assume and seeing as most of the people who would fix it don't really do pvp, getting it figured out and tested is a lot of work

You can't capture it when the widget loads because you can close and reopen it. You can't capture it when you click bank all, destroy all, or inventory all since you can idividually withdraw or bank items in the key. So when do you capture the data in the loot key?

Is there any way to play Runelite with a controller?
So far, I can get controller support for the official Steam version of RuneScape by using steam's built-in controller support.
You can also do this for non-steam games by adding them to your steam library. But since Runelite needs to launch through the Jagex launcher for Jagex accounts, I can't launch it this way through Steam.
any ideas how to get this working?

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.
Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.
This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

Hello, currently been chatting with att for almost an hour, thought i would get on here...
I bought a Lenovo ideapad 3 2 days ago. when i go to download the windows64ARM version on my mac or 2 differeent browsers on the new computeer. it never completes the download. and downloads slower than dirt

The 117HD plug-in works fine but i lose fps, the Experimental GPU plug-in works fine, but flickers in some places. GPU plug-in works but i have low fps

If you're getting an error while trying to install RuneLite in the lines of unable to find unins000.exe that means you have a previous RuneLite version that didn't uninstall cleanly. To fix that you need to delete the following windows registry key: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\RuneLite Launcher_is1
