@long trench To find the logs, you can do one of the following:

  • If your client failed to open, click the Open logs folder button.
  • Open the screenshot directory by right-clicking 📷 Camera button, navigate 1 directory up, then open logs folder.
  • Navigate to %userprofile%\.runelite\logs on Windows or $HOME/.runelite/logs on Linux and macOS.

Upload the log files named client and launcher by dragging them to Discord. If there are files prefixed with jvm_crash dated from today, upload them too.

I have performance issues (fps dropping to 20) when I am in certain areas (fossil island, basically the entirety of varlamore, tob). When that happens, gpu usage spikes to 100%. Any ideas what's going on? I have an amd ryzen 7 3700x and amd 6800 xt

It seems that the Grand Exchange plugin impacts item look-ups at the pvp arena, specifically when the Search mode is set to either Fuzzy only or Fuzzy fallback. If it's set to Default, it works as expected and all available items are shown in the search. Has anyone else experienced this?

Run gradle shadowJar to generate a runnable jar in build/libs/*-all.jar. You can run the jar with java -jar -ea jarName.jar. If you run into problems, update build.gradle to the latest plugin template version.

Im running runelite on pop!_os linux and have started running into one of my clients windows (including plugins and etc) freezing while the others run fine, notably alt tabbing and tabbing back in refreshes the screen and it doesnt freeze for people watching via discord screenshare

This issue only started coming up when i swapped my desktop environment to KDE Plasma

To resolve this should i look into the new desktop environment or runelite settings? im not seeing anything in the runelite logs at the timestamp the issue occurs

Custom Chrome kinda works better on Linux in my experience, since the color picker child windows (and my plugin's) inherit RuneLite's custom chrome, which is lovely.
On Windows the color pickers use the OS chrome. Fwiw.

for that to work you probobly need to make your own 3d party launcher. That it self is a gray area. Its not against tos right now, infact there are one 3d party laucnher a lot of users in linux used called bolt, that jagex knows about and is allowed right now. it cant do what you ask but it is possible to do if you make your own launcher. however that will likely be stopped when all 3d party softwere is banned. a other way is to make a script that opens jagex launcher and klick play but in that case i think it is just easyer to press play 🙂

Opponent Information relies on the wiki so it isn't updated immediatly for new content. But the delve boss changes HP but keeps the same ID for every floor. So you'll always have to use vanilla boss hp bars for delve boss

Has anyone gotten the Scale client argument to work on Mac? I've tried adjusting the value via the --configure argument, and even passing --scale=2.0 directly in the CLI.

The new value is saved, but it doesn't have any effect. I've even tried the Enable custom window chrome to see if that makes a difference, but sadly it doesn't.

Hey Guys. Been using RuneLite for years on an NVIDIA GPU with no issues.

Switched from an NVIDIA GTX 1070 to an AMD 6750 XT back in February and, since then, RuneLite using the GPU plugin (or, especially, 117HD) runs really poorly, especially in areas like the Chamber of Fire fairy ring bank or Meiyerditch.

I've tried all sorts of stuff:

  • Disabling freesync on my monitor(s)
  • Mucking with the settings i.e, removing VSync, anti-aliasing, compute shaders (having these turned on does help, but still worse performance than on NVIDIA)
  • Updating drivers, been through two or three updates now with no success.

My utilization graph is interesting, though I'm not sure if it's unusual? It seems to operate in big spikes of usage instead of any sort of consistency. CPU usage and GPU temps seem healthy:

If anyone has had similar problems with AMD and has any tips, I'd really appreciate it. In general, I've had issues with pretty much anything that's not a full-screen, DX game -- I've even had GPU issues on YouTube and stuff, though those have been fixed since disabling freesync.

The only thing that truly helps is lowering my draw distance but... I don't know why a GPU upgrade would result in me having to lower my draw distance to achieve the same performance I got with a much older card.

Hi, I have a new installation of runelite and lost my loot tracker data. Is there a way to sync it or import it? I dont have access to the previous installation as I experienced a hardrive issue. Or am I just going to have to start with a new loot tracker?

since today i have very long rendering time(2-3sec screen freeze) when teleporting, rendering a new chunk, entering POH, etc..

@vocal kernel Pretty sure it's Menu Entry Swapper, and there's different versions of it on the plugin hub as well for more options. Hold shift and right click, you can change the left click and shift left click options

I'm having an issue with moving my Runelite window to my other monitor, going from 1440p to 1080p. It's missing the top right options like minimize and maximize, and the position of the cursor doesn't line up with what is showing in game. I use Stretched Mode to scale everything to be more visible, resizable scaling set to 25%.

Hey, I would to contribute to the GitHub page, specifically gpu FAQ. I had trouble with gpu plugin using 100% of my gpu at certain spots in the world.

On the gpu faq page it says that if you have an amd rx 6000 series you should use version 18.something of amd drivers.

That version doesn't work well with 6800 XT so I tried version 22.5.1 and it works like a charm. No more 100% gpu usage and no more fps drops to 20.

if you want to modify in game scaling on runelite you can open the plugin settings tab and turn on / modify the Stretched Mode plugin
if you're trying to modify the runelite UI scaling you have to do it through launcher config

Hey, so I am running the Fullscreen plugin with no issue but I want to something specific with it. I’m running a dual monitor setup and I am wanting to have another window always on top of runelite even if runelite is in focus. This plugin overrules the “Always on Top” permission granted to other windows with the use of the Windows PowerToys app. Is there a way to disable this for runelite?

But in bank tag tabs on the left side you can change icons on them to items of course but i only get 24 items max or less if i do very specific search but cant I scroll through the list when searching for items for an icon for that bank tag tab? 🙂 Cause i cant seem to do that at all.

Running into an odd one. Any time a new texture or animation loads I get stutters and the game freezes for a second. After that happens, it doesn't happen again until I exit and reopen RuneLite.

If there is no _JAVA_OPTIONS that is fine. I'm not entirely sure if the memory thing would help with your stutter issue though. Might be a hub plugin thing causing that. Maybe this flowchart would help with stutters.

I installed RuneLite the first time and cannot get it to launch. When launching the .exe nothing happens at all, if i launch with jagex launcher- it throws an exception and crashes the launcher. How do i go about finding the issue from here on?
Also- i apparently dont have the path where the logs are supposed to be in. "%userprofile%" has no .runelite folder.

Hi, I am unable to set up profile sync across devices. I have a Jagex account and am launching RuneLite via their launcher, as I am unable to log into RL directly. If I click a Profile listed in the Profiles tab, there is no Cloud Sync button. If I click the Info Panel, it says "Not signed in". I just logged into my RuneLite on a new computer but none of my information carried over. Hello, I have been trying to get runelite to run on my pc. I can log in with my phone and steam, I have upgraded to jagex account and I am running runelite through the jagex launcher. I am using a VPN because I can't run the jagex launcher without a VPN. I checked previous questions and tried some of those fixes and nothing seems to work.

Does anyone know why my bank tags wont work? If I try to add a new tab, delete a current tab, change the icon of a tab, or basically do anything at all with my bank tags, nothing works or happens. Stupid question, but when I first built my pc I plugged in my ps5 controller and I could use it like a mouse. The left trigger worked as the left click and the right trigger worked as the right click. Bumpers worked as my directional keys and the left stick to move my mouse. Hi guys,

I have an issue whenever I use the GPU plugin with my GTX 1070 Ti. It works fine for 2-5 hours, then my game begins to "freeze" whenever certain visual effects appear (Zebak waves, Yama shadow waves, etc.). I can still see what's going in-game, but my clicks do not register til a few seconds later. This continues until the visual effect isn't on the screen. It also sometimes happens when loading into a new area. When I disable the GPU plugin, all the issues stop.

Deleting the "cache" folder in my .runelite directory is the only way I've found to temporarily fix it. This allows it to work for 2-5 hours before I have to do it again.

I've tried using the experimental GPU plugin, changing all the setting in the GPU plugin, running RL with hardware acceleration disabled, but nothing helps.

This has been a persistent issue on all versions of my GPU's drivers. I have clean installed every new driver and it has never helped.

I have looked at the GPU usage on Windows Task Manager whenever the issue is happening, and it does not show any abnormal spikes or dips in GPU usage, nor for my CPU or RAM.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am at my wit's end with this lol

Hi, I'm a baby when it comes to linux but i have a little issue on linux (I'm using fedora with kde on a thinkpad with amd graphics) where when I try to tile/snap the window to half of my screen it'll sometimes get these weird black bars. If just jostle the window around manually or by flicking it around the tiling (just like, holding the meta key and spamming arrow keys) I can get it to go away. I was just wondering if there's a quick known fix.

Oh I also have an issue where the --scale=<val> param that i set in my .local only works for integer values, despite the github wiki page saying you could, at the very least, use 0.5 as a value for half size (not sure if other non-integers are supported). Dunno if this is a graphics driver issue on my end or something

non-integer values do not work for me, so if i put in 1.5 it just does 1x scaling, 2.5 just does 2x, etc. I'm fine with 2x scaling, but I'd like to play with fractional values if I can solve the issue. If they'd just be fuzzy then I won't bother putting in effort.
