and copy paste the profiles2 folder somewhere else on your computer before you open runelite

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

Recently my FPS has been dropping significantly, especially when in busy areas. I use the GPU plugin.
I'm running on a Ryzen 9800x3d with a RTX 3090 and 64GB RAM

I am for sure running the 64-bit Runelite (confirmed via task manager).
I tried creating a new profile and using the default plugins with a new profile.
I tried disabling all plugins except GPU and Camera.
If I run in Safe Mode I get 50fps (capped), but the game looks terrible.
I tried setting the OpenGL Rendering GPU in Nvidia control panel.
I tried changing Hardware Accel in Runelite (configure) to each Auto, Off, DirectDraw, OpenGL, and Metal (Metail failed to launch).
I tried increasing the JVM max ram to 4096M
I tried reinstalling runelite (but kept my profile folders)

Problem persists if I turn on Low Detail as well. My GPU driver version is 576.28, performed a clean install of the driver today to try and fix the issue.
Problem also persists on a fresh boot with nothing else running.
Occasionally my FPS will shoot up to whatever my target FPS is (usually 120FPS) for several seconds and then go back down.

In Civitas Illa Fortis, for example, I'm getting ~15-20fps. If I reduce "Extended Map Loading" in the GPU plugin from "5" to "0", FPS climbs to ~25fps. Reducing view distance to 50, my fps will climb to around 50. Unlocking and increasing target FPS does not get FPS any higher than ~50. If I reset all GPU settings to defaults, I get about 60fps (even if I increase the FPS Target)

Any ideas what might be causing this or how can I further troubleshoot?

I was trying to train jad through the speedrun worlds, and everytime I got to the phase where the healers spawned, the moment they start to heal Jad my client would freeze for like 3 seconds or so... then come back, I would be able to do like 1 action and then it freeze again, and then come back when I was already dead.

Tried without GPU enabled, Tried Low Detail, Tried disabling every single addon I had installed and it still persisted...

Tried with Jagex Client and the freeze issue is gone... Im really scratching my head because don't know what else to do

I found the issue. It was a "fake" client of runelite afterall. I used to play an rsps that used runelite and that's what was causing issues. This is on me and isn't anything for your team to focus on. Being as I haven't touched that in so long I found it on my pc, and for some reason just this morning it caused issues.

You've downloaded a fake client, and your account has been compromised. Remove the fake as soon as possible to minimise further damage.
The following actions should be performed from a secure computer or secure mobile device:

• Change your RuneScape password
• Remove and re-add Authenticator to RuneScape
• Change your RuneScape bank PIN
• Change your email's password
• Add 2FA to your email if you haven't got it enabled
• Check for any linked accounts by accessing the account settings page (https://www.runescape.com/account_settings)

Some fake clients also install malware, only a fresh install of your operating system can guarantee the total removal of any unwanted software.
You might also want to change any email password if you reused the same as your RuneScape account password.

yes i have all the updates, yes i have gpu. the fps are only low when i play something else or even watch twitch or kick. I have 32GB of ram and a good CPU

I don't think including an ip address in your recovery is helpful anyway. If your appeal is being denied immediately then you're providing incorrect info. If it takes a while to get denied then support generally tells you what information you need to improve on.

Does anyone know why runelite isn't taking screen shots of raids chest loot anymore? I liked having the valuable loot in addition to the raids chest because I could scroll through all the raids loots to show them (either to people or in videos). It also helped tracking my total purple change in TOA without having to screenshot everything individually.

In fact since I've started playing my new account I don't even have the "Chest loot folder" in screen shots anymore

I already have enough problems with too many valuable loots because mine is set relatively low.

that's based on Jagex's name for it I think so presumably

that's the right value though presumably. Gameval stuff made a lot of things easier but there are some cases where Jagex's internal names for things are either confusing or occasionally wrong

To find the logs, you can do one of the following:

• If your client failed to open, click the Open logs folder button.
• Open the screenshot directory by right-clicking 📷 Camera button, navigate 1 directory up, then open logs folder.
• Navigate to %userprofile%\.runelite\logs on Windows or $HOME/.runelite/logs on Linux and macOS.

Upload the log files named client and launcher by dragging them to Discord. If there are files prefixed with jvm_crash dated from today, upload them too.

circling back on my problem from yesterday, it ended up not being a plugin problem at all, it was actually a linux sound issue (shocker); if your Pipewire wireplumber is broken then Runelite won't successfully finish starting up and you should double check that you don't have a broken wireplumber config file! turns out it (might have been?) a gpu issue, noticed weird graphical bugs in other apps too and checked for any driver updates from my gpu. there was none so i opted to just use an older more stable driver and restart my pc

Hi. I have encountered a fair amount of lag with certain plugins recently (C Engineer: Completed being the primary one) and I am struggling to figure out what is wrong.

With the plugin when you receive a collection log, complete a slayer task, or do a variety of other things you will receive an audio notification of that thing, whatever it may be. As of the past few months I have encountered an issue where the audio plays but it is delayed, sometimes by up to a few minutes.

Another plugin I have been struggling with is Ground Items. Holding Alt and clicking the +/- will not do anything until I reload Runelite later which will then process the changes I made.

Any advice would be great, I've tried searching the internet to find posts about these issues and haven't been able to come up with anything.

Runelite itself as core is fine and stable, happy to fix any non hub issues if that is not the case.

Remember that there are hundreds of thousands of people actively using RuneLite in any given week, so it's inevitable a small number of people in a userbase of that size will have some sort of problems. With that being said, we do our best to address any that come up

I think you listed NPC index instead of ID but I reanimated a giant myself. the attack animation the giants use is on a list of animations not to smooth because the smoothed version is broken

I see a dog related one on that list too so that's likely the same case for the hellhounds as well

ive seen the 0 id profile get overwritten if you do a certain order of operations on a new machine

so thats probably what happened here

I started having lag spikes at toa, specifically at kephri bombs and warden p3 & 4 attacks. frames stay at a solid 200 but I experience a game slowdown when I click to move to a tile, and then a "catch up" 2-3 ticks afterwards. anyone else experiencing the same issue as of late?
