If it's not working, download and install the updated RuneLite launcher from the website link in #welcome. You don't need to uninstall your current version. You will not lose any settings or plugins. Then try running safemode again.

hey, i'm having an issue at araxxor, when i shift-click to walk under it the option flickers between "tag" and "walk here" as i move my cursor. this seems to happen most frequently in the enrage phase. anybody else had this? i couldn't find any conflicting settings, in the video the only key i held down was shift.

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

Hey Guys - How can I see which Plugin interferes with another one?

I have the "The Gauntlet" Plugin installed, it offers an overlay for the ressources collected, but - even if ticked - the ressource/npc highlight doesnt work?
On a different profile in Runelite with only the Gauntlet Plugin installed it works flawlessly? So I assume one intereferes with the Gauntlet one?

Figured I'd ask before I start digging through settings. I have "Ctrl+click to invert run mode" setting enabled and it works fine but the animation seems run on the last tile of movement if I move 2 or more tiles away when walking via Ctrl+Click. Any ideas where I could start looking for what's causing it?

One more question, when I do Phosani's nightmare, I see both RuneLite's opponent overlay and Jagex's on the screen which shows the nightmares HP/percentage, even though Jagex's is turned off in the wrench settings. Is this a known issue? Jagex's boss overlay doesn't show for any other boss, just nightmare.

@zealous cedar First picture is runelite, 2nd is the official client. After the pillar phase it then shows both overlays. It's not showing the name on Jagex's overlay because it's all disabled in the settings. Seems its possible its a Jagex thing since even though I turned the boss overlay off it's still showing.

Hey, I'm wanting to get into plugin development and I am on linux. I'm using bolt to launch runelite now and have a Jagex account. Does anybody know where to find runelite's install on linux? I looked in the ~/.local/share/flatpak/app/com.jagex.Launcher/current/active/files/ThirdParty/ directory and its completely empty. Hello! I'm having an issue where RuneLite crashes/freezes periodically when I have two RuneLite instances open. Both RL instances are launched via Jagex Launcher. Only one client crashes when the issue occurs - sometimes I can play for an hour without any issues, sometimes the issues occur multiple times an hour. I looked through the troubleshooting guide without luck. Here is the log

Hey, my desktop PC had a part failure recently that I'm working out, so in the meantime I've figured out how to set up my brother's loaned Steam deck into desktop mode with all my peripherals and such. Using a Linux third party Jagex launcher, I can get that and Runelite running just fine, and I've signed in to my RL account on there as well. I don't see my settings profile in the list however, and I'm not sure how/if I can import it from the website. Is it possible to do so?

Hi, I got falsely banned yesterday. Jagex said they detected illegal ''3rd party software''. The appeal got denied unfortunately. I have never used such software. I have been using RuneLite ever since it is available from the Jagex launcher. I think the false ban could have something to do with a plugin, but I don't know which one! I just wanted to warn you guys, maybe check it out. It's a temporary ban (luckily) but it probably still means that I lost my Pmod status because of this 😦 and next time it will be a perm ban... I am afraid to use RuneLite now, obviously! I can't get in touch with Jagex unfortunately.

Im getting this error when trying to turn on the GPU plugin. im on Linux, nixOS. started happening after I updated my nvidia drivers. Tried updating the drivers again (nvidia 555.58.02) but issue persisted. I saw in the log as well that it was trying to load the old driver still. any way to force it to try and use new driver version?

So step zero is to fix the file permissions issues you seem to have.

Go to the link in #welcome and redownload RuneLite and reinstall RuneLite without deleting anything. You won't lose any settings.

Set it to run as admin and launch it standalone, even if you usually use the Jagex launcher. Once you get to the login screen, close it and set it to no longer run as admin

Actually the one exception to not deleting anything is to delete your client and launcher logs (the ones without dates) since we have them here. That way if there are any issues after doing the above, we'll have a fresh start without having the file permissions stuff showing up in there

Hey all -- started encountering an issue with opening the RL client today and I'm hoping someone else has seen this before. Logs attached. It seems to be specific to my build of RL since nobody else is having the same issue, and I'm able to get it to work on a different PC. Also, I probably haven't opened RL on this computer in a few weeks (though I did my due diligence to make sure the client and dependencies are up-to-date).

Repro steps (it's really just one):

  1. Run RuneLite without safe mode via the Jagex Launcher or the RL application itself.

Actual result: The initialization window opens and indicates that all applications and plugins are loading, but the RuneLite client fails to open after initialization.
Expected result: The client opens correctly, I log in, I run the best TOA of my life, and I am rewarded with a Shadow.

Note: The RuneLite client appears to open correctly in Safe Mode.

Fixes tried:
Checked open issues on GitHub
Checked the Troubleshooting Guide on GitHub for anything that seems to pertain to me (nada)
Run as administrator
Reinstall RuneLite
Reinstall Jagex launcher
Reinstall Java
Restart PC
Check that Java memory isn't limited by an env var

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

gm, are there any known issues with gpu crashes with the latest nvidia driver? Never crashed before but ever since latest update, gpu started crashing and whole pc shutsdown. Audio plays for a few seconds while screen goes black. I have minidumps and was stepping through it with windbg but coulnd't find anything good there

How can I exclude Runelite from my VPN tunnel? I thought I had it excluded already, but I only did the official client and was assuming that would cover it for some reason.
