I want to run runelite on Linux, and I hear the modern replacement for bolt launcher is the go-to solution and is endorsed by Jagex. I was wondering if you'd be able to slap Wine on the original Jagex Launcher and make it work that way. I'm not super familiar with Linux, so I don't fully understand certain things and Windows compatability layers is one of them.
I assume OSRS runs very well with proton which iirc is an optimized version of Wine

manual database edit. He was the one that submitted many fake matches since the project released. Some got through and I had to go in and find them then manually clean it up. If they were real accounts they'd just populate again, but because they were all fake they didn't.

Every complain I've recieved so far has been malicious in nature except two. Generally the pvp scene is pretty toxic tbh. Regardless I'll try to make something for it and make it better. That's the whole point of it in the end for me
I'm not exactly surprised since when anyone thinks of pvp in this game it's clans like rot or some drama or people being toxic. Kinda comes with the competitive space in any game
This latest bout of people are all from the same clan creating new accounts or using old alts from when they spied on other clans because they're worried that they're going to be scouted, not even that they actually are. Pretty paranoid behavior and I've seen it from a small segment of the pvp community. Most are just wanting something to enjoy that's new for pvp and that's who I'm targetting anyways. I'm sure even if you aren't in the pvp scene you can understand the frustration that comes with people taking now hundreds of hours of their time attempting to shut down the project, slandering on here and in game saying it's the worst thing ever with zero proof of anything happening, and then having to respond to it all while people that don't even care about pvp or want it removed pile on with the malicious intent from them.
In the end, I'll keep this going and do what I already have planned like I've said 100x, but making sarcastic remarks is just adding yourself to it tbh @quick herald realizing it or not.

No, your concerns are completely valid and they're in the roadmap. I'm talking more about people that make up stuff because of how they think it will work rather than having anything of substance going "plugin" -> this is how it negatively effected me. That's been exceedingly rare. Most of the time it's clans trying to sabotage because they find out their arch nemesis in the game uses it and they try to ruin anything they use and I'm caught in the cross fire.

Yeah clannies are weird but let’s be fr part of the issue stems from collecting data on everybody regardless of the plugin being installed. Explicitly, the clannies don’t just see “some guy is ranked high” they see “this leaderboard says this guys better than me” and you can’t do any kind of validation that the match actually happened on both sides of the fight. And that was a design choice, likely to accelerate growth
It doesn’t condone whatever malicious thing they’ve been doing but it’s also harder to deal with bcos collecting and publishing data on everybody in the game was a decision you made very early

Na it's valid, I have pushed it back because I had to deal with Noid for months so I hardened my system so he wasn't as much of a nuisance. Then I saw an opprotunity with streamers and events coming up to help them out and decided to do that timing over making the system. I created the backend system that it will be built off of and implemented integrity of the leaderboard fixes such as removing all banned players (mostly bots) from it as well. I still don't have that done and I'm trying to bug fix matchmaking that I just released. I also am trying to address things like people freeze logging in lms the best I can so that it isn't bad to the state of the game.
If you have a private profile where nothing of yours is recorded vs having stats out there right now is lower on the priority list, but you want to say it's a concern. It's one for me too, I just have other things that are more pressing
If that leads you to not trust me, not sure what to do with that. That's on you. You can wait and it will eventually happen, or you can help and get it there faster if you care enough

I don't think a PR will help much with the opt-out mechanism, for the simple reason that asking people to install a plugin explicitly to tell it NOT to collect their data is a terrible idea, and I assume that the site is not open-sourced in the same way (correct me if I'm wrong on that one)

It does show in the matchmaking lobby, have that for when I add a chat feature later so people can know I can mute them from the chat I implement. It shows when in matchmaking lobby. Happy to remove it, or change to something else if needed.

Not many plugins that do external chat systems tbh - there's an IRC bridge and some Twitch chat integration stuff (which amounts to the same thing under the hood)
