I've been trying to process runescape game logs in splunk for various reasons, and I notice there's a lot of game messages missing from the logs provided by the chatlogger plugin. I went and looked around the chatlogger plugin code, and as far as I can tell, the plugin is writing out every single message it receives.

So the problem is the chatlogger isn't receiving certain game messages.

I was hoping Hexagon or anyone really could help me determine: Is this an issue with runelite not passing the messages along? The embeded osrs client itself perhaps? And, more importantly, how might we go about finding these logs?

I'm a semi-experienced developer, but completely new to runelite code. Not even built my own copy from source yet. So any advice on how to quickly ramp-up is always appreciated.

At the risk of being annoying, I'd like to tag @midnight lintel as he's the real guru on this I'd imagine.

Hey ive started doing perilous moons and i dont know what to say

blue moon is easy, takes a ton of damage and basically does 1 of each special per fight

eclipse moon takes like 3 rotations meaning 6 special attacks to bring down, takes 0s and 1s

basically imune to damage

bloodmoon heals so much that the fight seems to take longer than the non-leagues one

also i need like 2 inventories of food to even stand a chance at doing all 3 moons without dying

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

There’s no way to load a custom model in runelite unless you sit in between the GPU plugin and modify the vertex data before it’s uploaded to the vbo

you will have to fork the GPU plugin and build it yourself and when the model being uploaded is an instance of Player and has the properties of the equipment you’re wearing, you will have to loop through that merged model and locate the helmet/head model then replace your modified vertex data there since the cape vertex data is after the head and upload the rest of the model to the vbo and it will render it

Let me clarify my question a bit. The report button plugin will count upwards from 1 when you log in, and continue upwards until you log out. I wasn't able to find that option on visual metronome.

And the visual metronome does actually have that

It's not perfect however since it keeps the count since you last logged out

but there's no limit to the number at least so it's accurate when you're logged in

if you're thinking about the 6 hour logout, there's plugins for that as well

There's a plugin called "Tick Tracker" that when set to "Disregard ticks on login = 0" does it

this one actually does reset when you logout but it also displays the extra information that you might not want

Which is why the report plugin is so good, I mean who even reports anyone in this game with that button

And you can still do it, it just doesn't say "Report"

I currently use the report button display my login time in a standard time format, and I'd like to keep that. But also have a non intrusive display of ticks counting up. Useful for when looking back at game play to see what I did wrong
