from @oak mulch, this got fourth place! the banner was later used for the invite banner. they also left the following note about their submission:
I went for the current design made by jan Melon which I'd like to call OLO because it's very recognizable: When one see OLO they think of ma pona pi toki pona; It's a functional design. Although of course I went for different style to give it a fresh look: I went for light pastel which directly contrasts with the current OLO.
For banner, I went for a radical design: it showcases iconic toki pona characters in portrait collage style, also known as WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! cover art style. These characters are: Necoco found in stickers -- Apparently this doesn't have toki pona origin, it comes from LINE sticker, but still iconic for toki pona community; jan Tokipo designed by r/prolangs community; meli pi telo nasa from the toki pona only film meli Biermädchen made by jan Tepo, jan Lakuse, jan Wata Wi, jan Kawa, and jan Kala; and finally, kijetesantakalu as drawn by jan Ke Tami -- toki pona community have obsession with kijetesantakalu thanks to the well beloved joke word coined by jan Sonja and its sitelen pona character designed by James Flear; I chose jan Ke Tami's kijetesantakalu because his comics are very charming, it represents sitelen pona very well, and in my opinion would fit in this banner design.
I noticed upon sharing this banner, some were asking who are those characters, some do point out who they are. So, this banner shall also double as a spotlight for these characters, giving them attention they deserve.
