  It's still legible, especialy as context is going to help

thanks to the way these look you could rotate them however you wanted and have them still work

but I also like that they vaguely evoke mun and tenpo as well as tonsi

as sort of grand concepts that could be gendered (like "mother earth") but without cultural baggage of like, women are like X and men are like Y, since they're so abstract

most sitelen pona help make their meaning more memorable through some sort of association with their shape

I wanted to make the gender symbols abstract to avoid any implicit connotations, so I derived them from tonsi
but simply rotating the orientation of tonsi didn't work well on its own; the problem of kama/tawa and sinpin/monsi is compounded with a concept that doesn't have a spatial orientation component to begin with

I wanted people to have some foothold for being able to remember which was which

so I went with a curve and an angle evocative of latin letters

since original sitelen pona already relies on such things for abstract concepts like ken and wile, I figured it was a fair approach for using for symbols with an entire point of treating mije and meli as abstract concepts

I was feeling awkward that someone had a font with the same name as one of my writing systems and then tried it out and learned it was, in fact, an implementation

it's a replacement for sitelen. the SP is like the word sitelen except instead of three dots its a line

this nimisin exists because the word "schilderen" in dutch does not actually mean what sitelen means, but the word "teken" does
