"That kid also vanished in a hole like that"
Location:
actually there is a third one
"Next chapter,we 'll be touching the abyss of this world"
it is located at the bottem of the page above, which is also the last page of this chapter
now you may be wondering what does "the abyss of this world"
means
there is 3 different interpretations of that and an area literally called abyss
lets just assume its lost library
i mean i already saw someone who read the japanese version think it's black space
imagine
...She has to just be saying that to promote the manga at this point
"Artstyle is improving" bitch the first page has a 6 finger Aubrey and the artstyle is messier than before
If it is, then at this point I think they're done with the Manga and want to move on
As in they're already tired of it... at chapter 7
i mean he only fucks up half the hands now instead of all of them

Not that much of an improvement when the hands are messier in general
he had to make 12 extra pages thats why the art is bad, he only had a month to make them after all

it's a 3 months hiatus
Shh... Laupig is in his Joker phase rn
does anyone have a link to read the chapter?
i’ll dm you
can u send it to me
yep
Jonkler
happier = more miss so at least they got that correctly
boi! ts tuff
me too please
can someone dm the leaked doc
Check your dms
It's a pain to open this channel the day after the latest chapter is updated and translate and read every single comment (lol). It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and there are already so many alphabetical comments.
So, how many complaints about this chapter would it be in bullet points?
My only bullet point is still: the pacing.
And the way ||Fear of spiders|| was handled because it really, really disappointed me. Sorry, I was really hoping that they would handle it as you suggested but it was underwhelming at best and having someone else solve it really put me down considering the processing of Sunny's issues IS what draws me the most to the games. And here it's... almost pushed to the side?
Those are my two points, honestly
I can try to go up and check other people's comments, though!
- From Japanese tio English, some things weren't translated at all and are missing. Which... makes no sense
- Art not good according to more than one person. It's something I don't comment upon since mine isn't that good either. I think it actually improved a bit.
- Rushed pacing, Sunny is still on Basil's bathroom floor for all we know and in headspace we're basically at the end of day 2?
- Inconsistent size of enemies
- Pacing. no one likes the pacinc.
- NPC kills spider and it's underwhelming at best while originally it was a major plot point.
Overall those are the main complains.
In terms of positives there's a little feedback in that sense. I will say Kel's faces keep being the best. I love my lil guy and I love all the expressions.
(Also, again, no sales for outside specific regions and I hate to have to pirate things, but we already had this talk. I also don't undersand WHY english localization cut some things)
(and the list may sound negative but you specifically asked for complains, sorry)
Yes, thanks for compiling the complaints list. I understand there are still complaints about the pacing. I have to turn a blind eye to the piracy issue (I hope that people in areas where manga services like Kmanga are available will be compensated as human beings, and that will also be the case if Kmanga is distributed in the future).
As for the opinion that you don't like the art style, well, I'm sure there are people who feel that way. I'm tolerant of it as long as you don't use foul language to insult the author or insult his character. (Is this a translation problem or a slang problem? Anyway, I feel sad every time I see bad writing.)
I agree with you that the spider phobia should have been explored in more detail.
But when it came to the size of the spider and the NPC killing it, I just thought "Oh, so that's how it plays out." Because, as I said before, this is an OMORI manga, not an OMORI game.
In the game, you fought against a giant spider phobia in the real world. In this chapter, you faced the spider in your headspace, but in my opinion, it doesn't matter if it's small because it's a literal physical spider.
Trust me, the moment I can actually purchase it properly I will.
HUh... there is some mistranslation there, I fear. I said some people do not like the art, which is fair, but I said I personally felt like there was some improverment. It got a bit better. I did not use foul language nor I saw personal attacks on Nui here. There was more complains about Omocat lately than Nui, but I fear like it's a translation error becuase while i'm not often around, I've not seen anything overly aggressive.
Bad writing is... a common one. When you take all elements of a story and put them in a random order, it's bound to upset some people. I wrote a work essay about Omori, over-analyzing it as a perfect example of wonderfully written mental illness representation in gaming media (I work healthcare) and I feel quite disappointed by how the manga cannot replicate that in the slihtest.
slightest
BUT I am at least aware it's a matter of personal tastes.
As someone who writes a lot, once even professionally to some degree, I find myself confused by many narrative choices.
Sorry, I didn't mean it in response to your comments. I meant it in response to all the comments I've seen here and on other social media sites. Sorry if the translation isn't accurate.
(>>I did not use foul language nor I saw personal attacks on Nui here.)
Also, please, if you feel like we're overly aggressive about something? Feel free to contact me if you want me to rephrase something for you for better translation.
OH! And absolutely valid! I was just worried something came across from me as distasteful when it was not my intention. I think Nui needs to work a lot more on their story pacing. And worry not, I'm just glad people arent' being too nasty in here.
Personally I think you can dislike someone's work without being a nasty person yourself.
About this? Which part?
Let me pick it up. it's mostly side comments from what I've seen
As you can see it posted a bit above, we're missing some side comments
which is just... pardon my language, disappointing on the translation side
I think I need to explain the structure of Japanese manga culture here.
The comments written on the outside of the manga I'm referring to here are called "Inciting Complaints" (is that the correct translation?).
These side comments are mostly added by editors.
Or people in charge of manga magazines. (Since OMORI manga is serialized in Monthly Afternoon, it would be more accurate to say editors of Afternoon.)
OH- that is new. But I do admit I'm new to the manga scene, I've never been invested into it until I played Omori. It's a bit of a new world for me, as a whole, so it's good to learn.
So I guess we're missing editor comments?
Please note that this will only be written in the print magazine.
Even if it is a Japanese version, it will be removed when it is published in book form.
that is fascinating, I had no idea
I guess it makes sense for people who are approaching the manga world only from Omori, like me, to get some things wrong. I guess I was upset over nothing in that sense, apologies.
There's no need to apologize. I don't have much knowledge about foreign cultures, and living in Japan, I really couldn't understand when I saw the comment "Basil has bedroom eyes."
Examples of "Inciting Complaints"
Absoltely understandable. I think our cultural differences speak loudly of how different sometimes we perceive things. I am glad we can actually have a discussion here and share our differences.
And I see. So they're like little things the editors add in for the sake of convincing people to purchase the next volume, right? I had no idea.
Yes. It's no exaggeration to say that it's in almost every manga serialized in a manga magazine.
The sentence at the end of the episode is also used as a brief preview of the next episode.
That makes sense. And it explains at least why a few comments like that are missing in the english trnaslation
Ive only learnt about the existence of the manga today, what's the release schedule for the chapters?
One each month, around the 24
Numbers of pages each chapter? Vary time to time
Seven chapters released so far
Cool so chapter 8 is expected March 24th?
Pretty much, yes, even if we had a jhiatus before so it's not a full guaranteed
Alright nice ty
just realized pluto isnt even in the manga
we arent flexing and we arent feeling our best
If progress continues at this pace, it is unlikely that Pluto will appear at the last resort.
so like mr jawsum just fights them and then just gives up?
manga prolly going down hikikomori route @rigid token
Mixer route ay best
He alreadynl left the jouse
what's that one manga with the main character name rhyming "omori" and another person called mari again @rigid token

SWEETHEART IN OMORI MANGAAAAA???
whiteheart
nui is whitewashing the characters to save on printing costs 🔥
atleassst wife made it into the manga here
but tell me
||why the hell did sssshe almosssst fucking die????|| (ahem-) ||getting crussshed or whatever the hell happened||
not complaining i love me ssssome angssst
like
a full fucking pillar falls onto her
spaceboy just teleports inside the castle
and sweetheart is unharmed
mmmhm
that would mossst likely be collateral damage,
thatsss not jussst a thing you walk away from
gets pushed back by a fucking eggplant plushie but is unharmed by a full ass pillar
you’d have atleassst more than 1 broken bone, potentially paralysssisss if sssevere enough, and/or death.
BUT HOW
also nuclear take
the hero that sweetheart is thinking about is the most normal looking person in the entire manga
once again the manga is feeding my sweetheart headcanons further
but firssst lmao
helpsss me make ideasss for my fanfic im working on
when you try to make a toddler look more mature it just cancels out yeah
oh, oh boy i’m going to have a field day with thisss for my fic
ok yeah goodbye chat lmao
i’ll be back later
anyways uhhh
i cant wait for them to cut to orange oasis when sunny actually goes to sleep
and just forget that unbread twins are normally blocked by water
Both will be omitted and will not appear.
Bro is NOT the allowance snake 😭
i mean
if they keep the pace of headspace cuts they are following now they are gonna run out of headspace by the lake
Again
and having sunny not cut to headspace when he GOES TO SLEEP would be just wrong
I have NO experience in story telling but I am so confident that I can write the manga way better then omocat
and she made the damn game
omocat isnt doing all the writing for this
whoever it is
but nui dosnt know what he is writing either so
I am so confident I could out-do them
Idk the first thing about writing a story and i only finished omori a few months ago
Same here please
ill dm you
hehehe
Not babyfaced hero FTW. He almost looks like a teen
there’s an uncensored version?? i didn’t know that
the uncensored version looks odd
Yea
2 year delay
oh jesus sunny hasnt even gone to sleep once in the manga and were like halfway already
so is omori going to become a full blown hardcover manga? or is it already a thing?
volume one is released in japan as a physical manga. i'm not sure if it will ever release in the USA or other regions though
darn thats a shame
I love the game so far (im new) and when i heard it was a manga i got super excited cus i love manga as well
why it isnt on any web
Yeah, I get that.
I was so excited as well. The manga does skip over a lot of details though, so if you want a full telling of the story, I recommend to play the game
I'm currently playing it as we speak lol
what part of the game are you at?
I just started but I am at sweethearts castle trying to escape right now i haven't done any bosses
you about to fight a boss in awhile
oh nice
So
Whom of the bosses have we now seen
Ik Sweetheart one of em
But what of King Crawler & Carnivore
Oh yea and Sir Maximus
Forgot about him
so
im not afraid of water
i just got to the last resort
thats it so far
im going to sleep now
its 1 am on a schoolnight
I got the day off
lucky
Man... I just read the new chapter and I gotta say this is the first one where i have genuine problems with it.
Sweetheart is the GOAT and I have to say she was done extremely dirty for her introduction.
I could excuse some weird pacing decisions previously but I feel like this chapter highlights the oroboros of suck that was slowly eating at the manga.
they didint ssshow me
thisss isss ssstupid >:(
She lost her entire personality, yeah
This message is peak fiction (except it's real)
"Ouroboros of suck" is my new favourite term 🔥
Yeah I feel like she was too nice? Idk
Like she's supposed to be a lot more spoiled rotten and self centred but it feels like they erased that part of her character along with her tanned skin
i':ve only read the manga up to chapter 2
how is Sweetheart even portrayed in the newest one tho
-inhales- that's a hard question to answeer
she has a 0.01% of her personality
and you basically encounter her only at the final wedding
Ok some more pointed criticisms. Sweethearts more cut down introduction waters down her character dramatically.
Think about the build up to her as a character in the game. Back on otherworld only ever hear of rumors of Spaceboy and Sweetheart's break up nothing ever could tip you off of her narcissistic nature aside from some sutble lines from some of Spaceboys loyal Space Pirates.
Even then nothing about how Spaceboy talks of sweetheart back on Otherworld in the best of light (as someone who is lovesick should.)
Then when you first see her in the game she is trying to find love, but Sweetheart's Quest for hearts does a lot of things.
Not only does it set up her ego driven personality and the baseline of her character but it also does a lot to intimidate the player.
She a vindictive ojou-sama princess a person of royalty with extremely high standards, she persecuted anyone who gives her any sort of slight whatsoever.
Then after clawing your way out of the depths of the castle you then get to see he deeper machinations. She isn't just a Ojou-sama with high standards. She's a twisted narcissist who has deluded herself into believing that marrying herself is and reasonable course of action.
Then compare it to the Manga.
The only mention of Sweetheart before he introduction was Chapter 5 even then it's made super clear from Spaceboy that Sweetheart is a dick. (With even Aubrey commenting on how bad that is.) There is no intrigue or mystique.
She doesn't give our initial baseline either for her personality either. (Note she never puts anyone in a dungeon herself. The gang just fall into a trap conviently.)
Then when you finally do meet her she does come across as narcissistic, but she comes across like self absorbed brat who cares for nothing but herself then a character who should be feared. (I will say the fight somewhat made up for that, but in my opinion it's too little too late.)
She's the defacto headspace antagonist that isn't Sunny's trauma biting him in the ass.
She's lacking her high and mighty personality and teeth that she had in the original and it makes for a poor intro to an antagonist.
That's an interesting observation. It's true that if there had been a depiction of someone being held captive by Sweetheart when she fell underground, it might have been possible to emphasize more what kind of person Sweetheart is.
also there is way less motivation for them to even enter the castle here, tho you could explain that by them being looking out for basil, which isnt mentioned much in the manga anyways
in the game you get the ticket moles that help state that aubrey wants to go see quest for hearts
in here they just kinda
stumble upon the castle
they enter for no real reason
sure you could say the same about humprey, but there its specifically stated that they are looking for basil
Just my opinion. Considering the last line of Episode 6 of HERO, I'm forgetting Basil's existence more rapidly than I did in the game.
actually
you are 100% right
they forgot basil instantly
they actually have no reason to just enter
it wasnt that hard to just like
have spaceboy give them the tickets or something
it woudnt be that far off you are just replacing spaceboy giving them the orange oasis train ticket
its not hard to write in
they literally hang out with him writing silly love letters for HALF A CHAPTER already
but that would mean actually acknowledging quest of hearts exists and we dont have time for that
we need to fit the major headspace arc in 1 chapter!
Honestly i did not like Buddy in this new chapter at all. Mostly because... like why didn't they just make it so Spaceboy meets up with Sweetheart instead. I feel like you could get some tension from Spaceboy confronting his Ex at their worst.
Also the idea of Spaceboy very unwillingly having to throw hands with Sweetheart is an amazing image that would have made up all of this chapters shenanigans in my opinion.
having them specifically state that they forgot basil is also stupid from a context perspective
because you are kinda meant to forget about basil inbetween sweetheart and last resort anyways
I am mostly avoiding coments about this chapter because It's my least favorite one. I was really disappointed.
that one scene in last resort where kel specifically reminds aubrey that they need to look out for basil works because at that point YOU forgot about that
its never actually mentioned during the entierty of day 2
The pacing has REALLY been all over the place and I really disliked this. But I feel like many of the common feelings here are also mine
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but it's very difficult to make the long journey through PYREFLY FOREST, SPROUT MALL VILLAGE, and SWEET DUNGEON interesting, so I thought it was the right decision to cut them out. I know some people won't agree with me because the pacing is too fast though.
cutting them out is fine with me
Perhaps you're right, Dran, but also sweetheart has been murdered, personality wise
but the issue is that there isnt any reason why they would actually go there
And the spider fear really needed more and better focus
It's the execution of it that sucks ass not the principle.
they forgot basil and they never got the tickets to the show that would actually make them want to go inside the castle
they just stumble upon it cuz they are walking arround
and yes. Already forgetting Basil is another big issue in my opinion because you lose the main driginv force
and the perception that things are slowly fading away
pyrefly forest dosnt really serve a purpose if sunnys fear of spiders is gonna be skipped over
and sprout mole village would have looked silly with how small sprout moles are
but that dosnt mean they can just
walk into sweethearts castle because its there
I honestly agree with you about Buddy.
...Buddy?! Why?! I feel like that very strongly (lol).
Buddy was a big ??? moment
Well no, they Hero specifically says to Omori at the end of chapter 6.
"Alright it's time to go on another adventure"
Before cutting away to the castle. Just for shits and giggles.
buddy exists for 2 reasons
1 to not make sunny face his fear of spiders
2 literal get out of jail free card
It ALSO weakens spaceboy and all. on one part Sweetheart doesn't seem intersted and she seems to be pushed when Buddy comes in and is like 'you MUST give him another chance' basically
i still preefer it over the door just being open from a manga standpoint
that would have been so stupid
but like
really
It felt pushy, unhealthy and Sweetheart halfway felt more like a half victim there
Although it was the glue that was needed to turn the story into a manga, it seems that Rococo was the right choice for the job.
I WANT ROCOCO CONTENT SO BADLY
the thing is that like
Again why not just make it so Spaceboy does it instead, Spaceboy vs. Sweetheart WAS RIGHT THERE!
the jail was completely avoidable
Buddy. completely forgettable
they could have just walked into the wedding and nothing would have changed other than them not metting buddy
its not like the inside of the castle gets any screentime
There was no kel gay moment of him dancing with a male sprout mole ç_ç
If Space Boy had been there from the beginning, it might be a little difficult to depict when he becomes interested in HERO.
It's contrived. In the worst way possible.
in the game they are put on the jail because she gets pissed off at hero rejecting her, which also helps expand her character a little and show that yeah, she fucking sucks
no cake killing scene
but we just skip to the fight here!
again
the spider on the jail would not be needed
if the manga was paced properly
and sunny WAS IN HIS HOUSE
you could just do the actual fear of spiders segment
It's hard to explain my thoughts...After being consumed by the darkness of RW Basil, OMORI found himself in front of Sweetheart Castle.
it would fit more naturally
i mean
i still dont think that any chapter is actually good as a whole
chapter 6 has a good scene
People who encounter Omori for the first time through the manga rather than the game will likely be confused and not really understand what is going on. And I believe that this confusion caused by the depiction was exactly what we were aiming for.
but the rest is eh
I agree to an extent, but I feel like chapter 7 kinda went off the rails a bit. For me I could overlook a lot of the changes before because frankly I didn't think the pacing was too bad at first, but oddly it feels like the pace has gotten faster and faster. It makes me wonder how many chapters Omocat was greenlit for anyways.
I definitely need to depict the arachnophobia, but if I go back to the real world now, I'll have to go back to the real world again, even though the previous chapter just switched to OMORI's point of view.
my main issue with chapter 7 is not necesarely that they fit the whole of sweetheart into 1 chapter, we dont know what they are working with time wise
my issue is that most of the issues with the chapter right now could have been avoided by just pacing things differently
and adding 2 LINES OF DIALOGUE on chapter 5
Omori will probably end in five volumes at most in book form. However, that was expected from the moment the series was decided.
it was genuinely harder to break things as much as they did than adapt it properly
just make spaceboy give them/they randomly find the tickets to sweethearts wedding and half the issues are solved
At this rate it will probably end in 2 or 3 volumes.
i can see 3 volumes
they will probably take 2 chapters to do the entierty of faraway day 2
Well yeah as I said the oroboros of suck strikes again. Personally I would've drawn out Sweethearts castle for 2 or maybe even 3 chapters mostly because Sweetheart is kinda a big deal but I still can't know the constraints by which this was made so maybe that wasn't possible.
so volume 2 will probably end by either the lake or finishing humprey
depends on if they do blackspace as a separate cut or not
so 5 chapters for blackspace to the ending feels right with the crazy pacing they are doing
All rooms in Black Space are skipped. If there is one, it will be just a conversation with the Stranger.
in retrospective it almost feels like they dragged out otherworld to make the volume end where they wanted it
because like
Don't count your luck just yet maybe they can go even faster.
chapter 5 is so fucking slow
Probably true.
if you have 15 chapters to work with you cant spend half the chapter on a scene that appears early (and doing the MAIN FIGHT OF THE VOLUME HAPPEN OFFSCREEN) and then the other half on some silly love letter thing
just have more focus on faraway and you can END DAY 1 FOR THE FIRST VOLUME and end spaceboy at the proper time
we are halfway trough volume 2 and we are still on faraway day 1
aka the other 2 days are gonna be extremely rushed out
#1, White Space and NEIGHBOR'S ROOM
#2, Hide and seek in FOREST PLAYGROUND (and start fighting the boss)
#3, Fight the boss
#4, Go to Basil's house (and start fighting YE OLD SPROUT)
#5, Follow up with YE OLD SPROUT
#6, Something strange happens at Basil's house, Sunny wakes up and faces her fear of heights
#7, Go back to Headspace and go to OTHERWORLD (this story ends with a long ladder)
What about the chapter pacing I suggested a few days ago?
whitout a chapter limit? yeah this is fine
I don't know if it will be interesting. I understand that the current pace is angering OMORI players, but if the pace is changed, it is unclear whether the manga will be commercially successful, including among OMORI's first impression people.
I've come across opinions on the internet saying "I can draw OMORI manga better than NUI," but ironically the manga they submit are just NUI storytelling that they've painted over with paint.
If there's a better work that can be produced with completely original storytelling, I'd love to see it soon.
#1 everything up to sunny opening the door
#2 basically everything up to finding aubrey on the chuch, mind you the manga dosnt acknowledge the hooligans
#3 church fight and have sunny cut to headspace while searching for the trash can, do chapter 2 (mind you chapter 2 has 24 pages instead of 48)
#4 everything up to the meltdown on basils house
#5 basically just otherworld
with the breakneck pacing they have you can totally do this
yes i am skipping hide and seek with this, which is a fine choise when you consider that manga starts with a flashback that already introduces the characters
this still leaves you whitout the entierty of day 1 done by the first volume
but you can just finish it off on chapter 6
make sunny go to sleep, fear of spiders and start sweetheart
and we end up where we are now!
but the difference is that faraway day 1 is done and sunnys arachnophobia was actually acknowledged well
Nice. I guess cutting the hooligans would be ok.
the only blurry part about this is the park fight, might be too short
but like
the pacing is stupid already
you can make up for it
Well, my suggestion is a bit tongue-in-cheek. It's not necessary to faithfully reproduce everything exactly as in the game.
there is no real way to fit the entire game into a manga with less than 4 volumes whitout removing anything, omori is too big of a game to do that
but if they are gonna remove things then like
give faraway some more focus
people love the faraway chapters but we have really only gotten 3 dedicated faraway chapters so far
and one of those is chapter 1 which half of it isnt even in faraway
they want to cut things out and make the story faster but want to fit everything at once to make it seem like the whiplash from headspace to faraway still exists
hell no it dosnt
in this manga omori dosnt exist
its literally just sunny
(Hmm... it might be slang and I don't understand it 100%.)
There is a part in the real world where the hero returns. It's a bit difficult to decide what part to delete from this part.
i dont think they are gonna cut anything from there
they are gonna cut everything leading up to the lake scene tho i can tell you that much
which.... yeahhh the whole part of sunny and kel doing groceries feels dragged out even in the game
it dosnt serve much of a purpose
Oka listen
may I? I need to say this
I cannot get over whitewashed Sweetheart
She was NOT white and it's driving me insane and I cannot yell about it with anyone
Ah, no need to shop.
Now we have Kim, Mikhael and Sweetheart all suddenly white
they are saving on printing costs dw

Ah yes that's clearly the ONLY reason they'd turn a darker skinned character white
they are saving on printing costs dw
I'm sorry, it genuinely upsets me
i mean
these mfers use fucking like
points to buy chapters
i can see them whitewashing characters to keep printing costs low
omocat doesnt make enough money
we both know omocat has been whitewashing he own characters for a whole now
as we all know omori is extremely niche and they cant afford
you're overthinking it
idk i just think the printing costs explanation is funny
and demonizes kodansha which is always good
I'm sorry this chapter just keeps upsetting me
i just think its poorly written
kel
Kel indeed, kel is love
i have many issues with the omori manga and none of them are to do with the writing
Sorry, I'm too brain-dead to come up with a satisfactory explanation for this.
because it's obviously been made for a younger audience
yeah no thats just a side effect from reading this thing
dont worry too much about it
Please never epologize. Omocat turning her character 'whiter' has been an issue for a while now.
But let me state categorically that there is in no way any discriminatory intent behind it.
they probably just forgot tbh
I wish I could believe that DRAN
I'm curious about the "whiter" part. Are Japanese people depicted as yellow overseas?
no
Omori ir set in america though
and kim, mikhael and kel all have darker skin
only Kel managed to keep his color
why arent they all overweight
that's a depressing stereotype
valid questio
it holds truth to it
most of americans die due to heart failure
mhm
and more then half of americans are obese
!!
Please do not make a general statement like that
It may be an arrogant thought, but I have considered the possibility that Sunny and Mari are Japanese-American.
they are
its in the data
@compact peak it's a common headcanon actually
commonly thought so
i can see it
omori is meant to have a fandom and i think thats one of the main problems
in my fanworks Sunny and Mari are third genreation japanese immigrants
Yeah no, that's never an excuse for poor writing in my opinion.
Like this manga feels hard to follow and incoherent sometimes.
how so
yeah its no excuse but it obviously is made for a younger audience
I really want to love the manga but it keeps really hurting my heart
But their skin is not yellow, and I don't get angry about that.
counter arguement: buddy
i dont know how to like explain it but just trust me bro 🙏
and your skin is?
red white and blue 🇺🇸
jaundice
how is having a fandom a issue of the omori
I do admit I have slight confusion over this statement.
why are you speaking in fancy
I am tring to speak easy to translate since he's using a program to translate this conversation
basic curtesy

This might upset some people, but I've never really cared about my skin.
oh
who does its 2025 racism is long gone by now atleast i hope
your source is :"trust me bro" isnt it
I think it's more culturally charged for us. And good dark skinned representation is a bit... rarer in our media.
yurr
It will never go away. Humans are human.
Again, cultural differences
fair point
that doesn't mean we shouldn't speak against it, though
If I have offended you, I should really blame myself. I never wanted to make you uncomfortable.
I think what he's trying to get at is the fandom is largely dead. Simply put the game has not in the public eye anymore.
It was Omocat's one hit wonder that, was successful by all means but it just never took off as something broadly known on the internet.
Of course. It would be better if there was no discrimination. Only you and I can make an effort to achieve that, but humans are imperfect.
most indie games
True, but it's also clear Omocat is trying to make this sort of thing a long lasting success when it's not it shouldn't be.
Yet the likely hood of her making a new game again is very slim to none unfortunately.
You did not my apologies if it came out that way. I'm just saying that representation of darker skinned people in media is a matter of relative importance in the conversation. And it is heavily frowned upon to 'turn people white'' It's a whole, long, complicated discussion to have, I fear
'yellow skin' asians is considered a racist representation as well
simpso
I'm sorry if this was to politically charged but I've been stewing two days about 'white sweetheart' and how much it annoys me
and omocat is american she should know how people feel about this
In the previous discussion, it was said that only Kel kept his skin color. I don't know the details, but is Kel black? HERO and his parents are lighter skinned than Kel, so I think he's tanned.
They're heavily hinted to be of Mexican origin
They are suggested to be Latino decent.
which is generally a darker skin type than 'white' so to speak, to use simpler terms to translate
the little 'altar' you see in their house is typically mexican
I see. I've learned something.
as I always learn something talking with yiou
Yeah the Ofrenda is kinda the nail in the coffin there.
Bassically they have photos of loved specifically those that are deceased.
I'm not good at writing sentences... No matter how I write, there is a possibility that it will be misunderstood. About skin color
Itis okay, I can always try to rephrase
nocause mesican kel is my heart and soul
also for what it's worth: i am very glad we can discuss tings and compare how different our worldviews are
different prospectives are always preciosu to have
It is true that the manga was not drawn with a strong tone, so that cannot be overturned. I did not think that this would be an element that would sadden so many people.
However, in Japanese culture and sensibilities, skin color is not important. The issue is that no matter what skin color someone is a character. They are human beings. I believe that this does not in any way include discriminatory connotations.
I hope that this sentence has been conveyed well. Anyway, cultures are different. Japanese people place more importance on the color of the mind than on the color of the skin.
Sadly, many people love Omori for its story. Me included
The manga having a much 'lighter' tone and not matching how the game 'felt' makes many of us feel like this is a 'cash grab' drawn without soul
Well hold on Omori had a light tone to an extent but the major thing that made it special was the psychological horror that was underneath. Lurking around every corner.
As for the skin color thing: I absolutely agree that skin color is irrelevant in one person, but we have a long, deep history of offensive portrayals of 'non white' people in media and there's a lot of 'whitewashing' in which to appeal more to the public skin colors are changed. (not to mention, some media like pokemon, had controversies of people making mods to make darker skinned characters 'better' (not my words, theirs))
Generally changing one character's skin color is not seen as 'good' one way or another. Whitewashing is poorly received, making the little mermaid black in the remake was not perceived well... it's culturally very charged
I agree I LOVE running omori and every time I still feel like i discover something. Sunny's mom statue that follows you around and turns 'sad' when you are behind it wasone of my most recent discoveries and I am always blown away
the manga feels like 'oh yes, let's take omori butmake it happy and barely touch the horror elements'. What drives me INSANE is that the few moments we saw nui using those elements their style was AMAZING
I will step away for 15 minutes, i suddenly feel really sad so I will go buy myself a hot chocolate to make
Man I really need to get back into doing fanfiction and modding. Damn its been so long.
I agree with the opinion that the skin color should not be changed. Although the first volume in which Mikael appears has already been published, I will send an email to ask if you can consider adding a tone to the second volume in which Sweetheart appears.
Do publishers actually listen as much in Japan? It feels like a dream from our point of view
It may just have been good timing, but after I sent an email asking them to expand KMANGA's distribution area, the distribution area actually did expand.
It wasn't my doing, but I feel it's better than saying nothing at all.
But talking here really makes me think about cultural differences.
From a Japanese perspective, Basil has a Christian thought process and Sunny has a Buddhist thought process, but is Buddhist thinking known overseas?
I am currently not jome but i would love to hear about this
I was Christian and I did not make any association of that kind qlwith basil
Back home. I do feel like that was an incredibly happy thing to happen. I do pray that things in Japan allow more feedback than here, where voices are often unheard of.
And cultural differences: I'm ready to listen. I don't think I know much about buddhism, but I'm willing to learn. Personally Basil's action felt more driven by denial than any religious convintion but I'm listening
y'know what would be crazy
if in a future chapter where the gang gets in a fight like with jawsum or smt they make a reference to the kel nuke and just casually make him 1 shot the boss
tbh depending on how involved omocat is in writing the script i could see that
i mean they already made it canon cuz he uses it in the console version
so it could be a silly lil mention of the tech
they already referenced it in the friends fight so doesn’t seem too unrealistic
yeah
bro
techincally
people who played the game already know the next events in the manga early
JAWSUM IS THE ONE BOSS WHERE THIS JOKE DOSNT WORK HE WOULD JUST HIT THE GATOR GUYS!!!!
just kill the gator guys first then absolutetly violate him with the kel nuke
or just use arby's power hit
OR.
getfriend to use their ultimate attack
release energy thing
Manga will be interesting. I am excited for jawsum / last resort, but scared for humphrey
i am scared for slime girls
this
Scared for the actual bossfight segment The lab thing should be fine (i think)
I am very scared for slime girls
Seeing what expressions sweetheart made in ch7 when talking to hero
but im excited for jawsum he will be fire right laupig
i love how the hero sweetheart is fantasizing about is actually just a normal looking person
They definitely WONT take his shades away

Me and my friend had our hopes up when reading they wouldnt include the hero sweetheart thing
Unfortunately you can imagine our disappointment
this is nui we are talking about
he would add it even if held at gunpoint
to be faiiiir sweetheart might be the only "normal looking person" in headspace, everyone else has at least one unrealistic feature
Though I am probably forgetting someone
idk
also thats only ingame anyways manga could interpet any way
I hope we get to see kel DOWNING a cup of coffee and that’s when we realise.. like it doesn’t tell us we just see it happen
Like I hope it recreates that “OH SHIT LMAO WHAT” feeling you get when fighting the fake gang and you slowly realise they’re doing the kel nuke on you
Elaborate
Basil regarded Sunny as divine, and saw him as salvation itself.
(To put it more emphatically, it seems he even saw Sunny as god.)
Sonny sought salvation within himself. He repeatedly struggled with the world he had created inside himself.
In this respect, I felt that Basil had a Christian thought process, and Sunny had a Buddhist thought process.
At work but please know I will reply in about two hours. It is fascinating because as healthcare worker I had a whole different, non religious, take. Not that your idea feels wrongx quite the contrary, but I also wanted to share mine
Adding here: maybe unable to elaborate on what I meant until much later. I finished work but I have to go help the family for now.
well for Sunny his Black Space have Christian references too i suppose
Is the mangá official?
yes
Oh, that's exciting.
fr
so hows the next chapter?
It exists
pdf anyone?
I can't find anywhere that has pages formatted like a book
only vertical format
Probably at the end of March
Horrors
Controversial opinion: the manga is ok, i do enjoy it but i don't like the changes and the reorder of events. (SPOILERS)
||In the game, Mari's death was a huge reveal, but in the manga they kinda just told you immediately, even teased in the first couple pages that she is Something. Also its kinda strange to me that Sunny can go in and out of headspace at will, like he went into headspace when hanging out with Kel. I also feel that spending time with the Headspace version of characters then seeing them in the real world made the change a bigger impact then real world then headspace because you see how happy the characters were when sunny remembered them. Thered a bunch of different minor problems i have with the manga, but i am eager to see how they potray black space||
thats not controversial wdym 😭
i honestly agree.
I mostly kept up with the manga only for the art and see what they'd do with certain things
||I imagine black space will be something to the effect of House of Leaves.||
ok so
I finally bought the manga
(can i send pics here cus i don't see anyone sending pics)
yea, u can
dw
oh ok
so this thing
thought this to be only available in Japan?
didn't see anyone mention it in English
Wait. Can you get it physical in Europe in other languages than Japanese?
Not like, ordering online.
Because I wouldn't think I'd find it here in mangá stores.
Don't think so, seems like there's only Japanese ver
Mine come straight from Japan, even got that plastic cover intact
cost me about 10 dollars, shipping included
and 3 months of waiting smh
Bought it mostly for that tokuten (特典) thingy, not sure how to translate that
A photo styled clear card thing drawn by OMOCAT themselves
I got the bagel one
This ain't really controversial tbh
The omori anime is real
Well, lucky you know the language.
I will just read online I think.
I think right now, it's only in Japanese. But physical copies with English translation has to be imminent, considering that there are so many English-speaking omori fans
Apparently it means "benefits" in English. So basically, the photo cards are bonus content included in the manga
Despite everything its still you
ill dm you
u should probably delete that message though lol we cant really use that word, discord doesnt like it and its a partnered server
K
its on k manga but only for a few countries
america, canada, new zealand, australia, japan, singapore, philippines, thailand, vietnam, hong kong, taiwan, india, mexico, and brazil
if you dont live in those countries you need a vpn to access it
its paywalled after the 3rd chapter though
if any of those things are an issue i can dm you
Ooh okay thank you! I do live in one of those countries, so I'll be able to find it! Thank youu!
alr epic!
so angry at kmanga for even existing, such a terrible site
Isaac?
though I'm pretty sure Esau didn't die from falling off stairs…
this is so what the omori manga should look like (not my art btw)..
is this actually the manga? I found this read-along thing on YouTube, didnt want to spend 15$ on a book, so i figured i’d try youtube. The thing that has my puzzled is that it’s in color, but images of the manga show it in black and white. https://youtu.be/YaNxAZdzTs0
After— something— changed his life four years ago, Sunny has not left his house once, living in his own reclusive bubble. Hoping for a fresh start for her son, his mother decides to move their family out of town. However, when his childhood friend, Kel, re-enters his life, Sunny finds himself thrust back into a world he once knew. With only thre...
is this legit?
and what the hell did they do to kel and practically everyone else?
nuification aka the one artstyle that absolutely does not work for a game like this

It's really amazing that there is a Fast comic book like there is a Fast movie.
It's really amazing, I'm really amazed. Sigh
Y'all ever heard of omori re-written
its such a funny mod thats just a giant middle finger to nui and the entire manga
although, i know the artstyle is kinda required, it really makes some of the cast look really young. Like you’d swear hero was like 12 in the manga, despite being 15 in the game
also whyd they make hero so zesty
chapter 1 is!!!!!!
i noticed your ass on the stream i was watching
kyoshi stream?
yessir
also, related to both the manga and game, but sunny must really suck at cookig
why 😭
steaks are the easiest thing to cook right
i mean
salt, pepper, and butter
the power was out in his house
he ate a raw steak
he microwaved a steak for 6 seconds if you wanna take it literally
gas stove?
i mean yeah
couldnt he light his stove?
he could have just used the oven
with a match?
He clearly didnt though
but do you think that his depressed ass learned how to cook
mari being able to bake cookies at her age dosnt mean that sunny has touched an oven in his life
true, but that’s like saying a depressed person couldnt make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich either
like steak is so easy for anyone to make. It’s got the smallest risk of poisoning other than fish
bro starves himself for 3 days on hikkiko route instead of going and buying food
bro he hallucinated the steak cooking and then just chowed down into a raw steak
dont germans eat raw beef or something on bread?
sunny isnt german so he isnt built like that
like beef is the safest meat to eat raw other than fish like salmon
i could see if sunny ate pork or chicken
then yes he’d rightfully get sick
i mean raw beef is usually prepared for you to like
not fucking die
mind you
that beef could have been in the fridge for all we know
also, who on earth has a sign that says “bathroom” hanging on the door? Besides sunny that is
like usually you know what room is the bathroom
it’s the only room with a toilet in it
and a bathtub
Is this just Japanese manga culture? Regarding the discrepancy in apparent ages: Jotaro Kujo is 17 years old.
also, aubrey did her bat all wrong, arent the nails supposed to be very long so they go through both sides of the bat? I wouldnt know personally, i dont use baseball bats
i kinda got over it at this point, also damm
If you put a nail through the bat it will split.
and holy cow to the third power, aubrey looks 6
The Japanese sensibility is really different...
For example, how old does she look?
3
OK, I asked the question poorly.
As you all hope, it shouldn't have been drawn by a Japanese artist, if an American drew it, the problem of discrepancies between appearance and age would have been solved. Like American comics.
true, even if a european drew it (like a german or an englishman) it would still work probably
the faces surely dont help
like
nui has literally shown that he can draw a way more normal looking person with that one chapter 7 panel
Since manga is written in Japanese, the speech bubbles are vertically long. This is because Japanese is basically read from top to bottom.
If they were later translated into English, which is read from left to right, they would certainly be narrow.
you were right there nui 💔
Are you talking about HERO?
yes
this isnt just because its a closer shot either
its THIS ONE PANEL
THIS ONE SPECIFIC PANEL that draws people like that
that one panel is still an insane step up from other close up shots
with the exception of like
Unfortunately, this is an exaggerated expression of a sweetheart falling in love with a charming hero.
This expression is often used.
spaceboy at the end of chapter 4
Love is blind
If that means you don't want a serious discussion, then I'm sorry.
no i mean that
omocat has already done this
and it has looked way more natural
this isnt close to omoris artstyle either
and i dont think it being closed to omoris artstyle is necesary
but just the character design here looks a lot cleaner both from afar and closeup
At the very least, I think making it anime- or manga-like is unavoidable since the main market is the Japanese market.
If the main market was really English-speaking countries, they would hire an English-speaking artist.
and omocat did this literally 10 years ago
if she was actually willing to make this and draw it herself now it would blow it out of the park
So that means you have the option to see it painted 10 years ago?
im saying that omocat 10 years ago basically did it better
the artist being japanese isnt the issue here
its just nuis artstyle specifically being weird
But she's Japanese, and her art style is accepted in Japan.
The only sad thing is the fact that it's only in Japan.
by the way just so youre aware the person youre talking to is japanese and using a translator so it might be better to avoid idioms
its kinda hard to explain why i think this artstyle works in a way that nuis dosnt
Sorry
Is it because it's not okay to portray young people in an attractive way?
i guess a good way to put it is that nuis artstyle is too detailed in comparison to how omori art is usually drawn
omori is kinda meant to have... a more cartoony artstyle i guess is the right way to put it?
and the pages omocat drew show that pretty well
with the big eyes and generally low detail omori has
mewo is literally just a black blob
i think nui is trying to hard to make the characters look "better" with all the detail and texture and all that
let alone that it dosnt acomplish it in itself
it dosnt really fit omori
Is "deformation" the basis of OMORI's unique way of drawing OMORI?
its a lot more exagerated is what i mean
this just feels a lot more like omoris original artstyle basically
no i just think that the amount of detail nui tries to put into the art makes it not fit the original artstyle omori is going for
It may seem a bit rough, but you can color it by filling in the area using what is known as a "paint tool."
Details? Like the background?
Like hair?
i really dont know how to explain what i mean whitout outright doing a side to side comparison and i dont feel like doing that
Okay, sorry if I offended you.
its not your fault dont worry about that
this reminds me of a game i saw in an ad, cant remember the name though
Are you talking about the ads for the rip-off game that stole elements from Pokemon and the like?
hello
wait, is basil calling omori fat? He says in the manga that he’s bulbous like a white tulip, and the mushroom thing in the game also says he is bulbous.
And then turned out to be a shitty idle game rather than a thought-provoking psychorror
nono, some weird game, i’ll try to find a picture of it
cant find it anywhere
https://x.com/Evertale_JP/status/1379809044982943747?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1379809044982943747|twgr^9b3ceb885eea4342080e0aca6b22978211729c4c|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fnote.com%2Fkoukoku_miruyo%2Fn%2Fn7a87aa6c8cd1
It's a stupid rip-off game with ad fraud, so it's probably not even worth knowing about.
I get what your saying yeah
Might be another reason why i dont like the style
I am only reading part of it but I will be honest:I loved and LOVED Omocat's old work. Omoriboy was very different but unique in his own way, I would love to see both omori AND Omoriboy. Have you seen 'butterfly' from Omocat? the manga style was incredible back then
I feel a LOT more from those drawings than the ones from the manga, sadly
butterflies was AMAZING
(content warning for murder)
I know of evertale, downloaded it for pure curiosity because I wanted to check how deep the scam went.... it's a BAD game
MARI THAT WASNT YOUR LINE
i’ve heard about it, but itsss been yearsss sssince i did hear bout evertale
I didn't know about this manga, is this another omocat account?
It is lost content. She published it, it was lost in 2012 and it was found
It is beautiful and heartbreaki g and it is content that is no longer being sold.
*heartbreaking
Omocat's old style and content still gives me chills, good ones.
Unless it's omocat's own account, I can't read it all.
But when I searched, I was able to find only the beginning on omocat's blog.
I was able to get the general idea of the atmosphere. It's dark, with a serious feel. It has a different kind of merit from nui's art style.
I'm not sure if this is the right way to describe it, but OMORIBOY's art style is like Egyptian murals.
It is not. I am afraid there's no 'official' omocat release of that anymore.
And I get what you mean by egyptian murals- I love omocat's old art style over the more commercial and fluff one of the latest years. It had something special and surreal.
MatPat's Evertale video is the only reason I even knew of Omori's existence in the first place lol
Ah, I think I finally get it.
I think I wanted to hear that people like this kind of art style.
I know there are people who don't like NUI's art style, but more than that, I think when people heard that OMORI was going to be a manga, they assumed OMOCAT would be in charge of the illustrations.
And that didn't happen. That might be one of the many reasons people are angry.
I take it you were saying here that the OMORI manga should be drawn in the OLD OMOCAT art style, rather than NUI or the current OMOCAT art style (which you described as commercial).
That was the most reasonable opinion I've ever heard. It was easy to understand, especially since you didn't use slang or abusive language. Thank you.
well i kinda want to ask a question
what is the most popular omori ship in Japan
(and the idiom "ship" have equal meaning to "CP" in Japanese internet community if i'm not wrong)
From what I've observed, OMORI×SUNNY is the most popular. (In Japan, the order of the names is important.)
The next most popular ones are Sunflower, HeroMari, and Sunburn, in that order.
This is purely my personal opinion. All kinds of ships are accepted. The setting where the gender of the body is reversed by drinking the mystery potion is also popular.
Yes. In Japan it is called CP (meaning coupling).
If you don't mind I can show you something when I talk about Omocat's old art style.
I ALSO do suggest you not to use CP as term outside ofJapan since it has a much darker and criminal meaning outside of it
Look at THIS. This is the single best piece of art Omocat ever created, in my opinion. It's whimsical, dreamy, grounded enough to make you go 'oh, yes, this is a scene that makes sense' and at the same time it makes you see enough things that are 'wrong' that you know this is a dream
the colors pop out, they're pastel but also strong, you can see both the 'front', a peaceful place where to stay, and that plenty lurks behind. It stimuates your curiosity, it makes you ask questions, it has you go 'what even IS there?'
And, again, the colors are out of this world
When I compare it with my least omocat piece of all times?
This is so incredibly generic, it lacks the magic that got me into omori in the first place. Even the headspace equivalent is just flat (and this is not counting the weird artistic choices that are in it, I have plenty of comments on the art itself)
I cannot even begin to COMPARE the styles. I 'miss' the old Omocat. The sharpness despite the soft lines, the bold choices that aren't just 'generic cute manga'
I'm sorry if I sound too critic, but I think the old omocat style is something modern omocat and Nui both lack. And man I could rant for hours about every single old piece meanwhile most of the new ones make me go 'aw, cute' and move on
Also this saddens me as strong SunnyxKel shipper but glad to see Heromari up there. they DO deserve more love
Also unrelated but I was checking old art and- I SO wish we got the Love Bench
Look at those two. Sunny looks so done and Kel is like 'oh no I tried to flirt and this is backfiring in such a spectacular manner'
But yeah. Old style would have been fantastic fort the manga
Mind you I am AWARE all this talk is just me being nostalgic. Omocat AND Nui wil never see anything I write and they'll continue their way, but man old omocat was just beautiful
Sorry for the long winded talk, I just open my 'old omocat' folder and start weeping in nostalgia
I also want to make it clear this kind of commentary is coming out of love for this work. I ADORE Omori and I pray to see it grow and do better and better
alive mari
wrong reply
also yeah i feel like you explained it better than i could about why i think nuis artstyle dosnt fit
its how the legs and arms are drawn
specifically
lemme grab something for comparison
eh i dont have anything i can compare to a proper sprite
nuis artstyle is a bit too sharp
I'm listening, I'm listening and I'm glad my comments made sense. honestly, even Modern!Omocat doesn't match her old charm anymore
Back to the previous drawing, my favorite, i LOVE how the composition gives you, on the top, the locations of the DEMO from 2014. And then it shows you a place for the kids to play and then so much more. It's a trailer alone in a single picture, it makes you ask 'what else is there?' because it gives you jsut enoguh of a glimpse without spoilering anything. you KNOW there is so much more and I love it so much
Sorry I lose myself when I start talking about old omocat
oh well
same as here in China
oh and by that
the “CP" meaning and the ” "order of the names" part is same here too
in which the left name represents the top(攻) the right name represents the bottom(受)
(I didn't know that CP had a criminal meaning. It's called coupling because it means forming a couple.)
Hmm... so it seems to me that manga, a "bande dessinée," itself wasn't suited to being an art form to begin with. Especially in terms of color. Manga is basically drawn in black and white. Not being able to visualize purple, the main color of OMORI's headspace, would make it difficult to sense visually that it's a dream.
Listening to your opinion, I think picture books would have been a better art form for OMORI than manga.
i mean yep i dont know it either
i once thought the term was originated in EU/NA but it's actually originated from Japan ACGN community
(and ACGN is actually a chinese internet term,in Japan it's にじげん i suppose)
From what I can tell, ship (CP) culture was already popular during the Edo period. (AD 1603~)
well
you mean the actual ship or is there anything i dont really get or know
It's about the culture itself.
would you care to elaborate
i'm afraid i don't know much about Japanese history
A married couple was attacked by a robber, who told them to "take off their clothes."
When the wife tried to take her clothes off, the robber said, "It's not you, the man has to take them off." The wife was having a dream about this.
A picture with this content was drawn in the Edo period.
It is predicted that at this point, women were creating (shipping) love stories between men.
The translation may not be accurate. Anyway, what this picture shows is what is called yaoi culture in Japan.
Wha
Also you REALLY shouldn't refer to ship culture as CP
I wrote about that above.
I understand that in Asia it's called CP, but globally it's called shipping because it has criminal connotations.
I understand that. Here we write ship.
What does that mean?
Okay let’s move on
I'm using an automatic translation so sorry if I said something wrong.
Nah, not your fault
Well, it's a bit difficult to research foreign memes. I did an image search but couldn't really understand them.
We don’t need to probe into it anymore
All right, But I'm bothered by the fact that there are things I don't know.
well here is not the place to discuss it 🩷 it is not appropriate for the server
i mean this is more like the origin of yaoi but yeah that term comes from yaoi if im not wrong
anyways i'll end this topic here
I didn't realize that the word CP was a serious word until everyone mentioned it so many times. I learned something new from this.
I will be conscious of using the word ship in this community, but I apologize if the machine translation mistakenly uses the word CP.
Whos “you”? 😭
Ah, maybe it's the machine translation again.
Would it be more accurate to say everyone instead of you?
Edit.
Yes
Sorry if I offended you.
I will not get too deep into the meaning but I'm certain a single google search can help you with that.
And... I thinnk all media is valuable, I just fear Nui's style and Omocat's modern style don't encapsule the feeling of Omori. I feel like we fell in love with a fairytale (a dark and messy one) and now what made part of that magic true is being stripped away.
But that's a personal opinion
That being said: I hope you're all having a good day
IRight now my main concern is not knowing how much Mari's music seets will cost and if I'll be able to purchase them, as someone who plays piano
i mean i was informed by someone about this term has bad meaning yet i still dk what it is yep i will google it later i suppose(
Do you want tme to address the term to you through Personal Message? It's just highly unappropriate here
yep of course
After seeing all the dubs for omori first chapter, and seeing lack of editing, i decided to try it for myself!
All of the voice actor's will be credited after the release.

How long does it take for each chapter to be released?
heh theres an omori manga??
frrr i read the oshi no ko manga
It's fire.
I just wish the ending was a bit less rushed
And I wish Aqua had better character arcs.
That's all.
Other than that, fire.

fr straight heat i loved it
Damn that's fire
SINCE WHEN WAS THIS A THING?
I was browsing the store I usually get my manga at and got jumpscared by omori 😭😭
It is one of the most hilarious things I have read.
Why do bagel look in the manga?
What.
nui made the antithesis to stardust crusaders
these so called 16 yr olds look like fucking toddlers
mari is so pretty
i still prefer the new omocat over nui
because nui's style works only in the context of shit like
merchandise
while omocat's is more versatile
i could see omocat's style in animation and comics but nui's is just so uncanny
Hi guys
hello
the new OMOCAT is still good
I don't like the new omocat, sorry. I think she's still good, but it's generic, old omocat was a magicla trip.
I''m not saying she'0s bad at drawing but I miss the old sttyle
hello omori manga chat
Just found it really funny.
type shi
yeah
fair lmao
Deadchat?
i guess
this channel is for a manga that hasnt been updated in 2 weeks what would there be to talk about 😭
People gather on the day the manga is updated to say whatever they want.
I am always open to talk about omori related stuff
Sadly no manga stuff today.
I am however THRILLED to say 'the boi has arrived'
I am shemeless in my love for the dude

It's not the big colors I love but it's still one of my favorite recent art pieces
Now I have to plan to get Basil and Omori
I find the colors to be REALLY good in this?
I alwas want moe omori to look at
kel is one of the cutest characters ever created
WAHT IS THIS ANSD WHERE DO YOU GET THEM THATS SO ADORABLE
The store is far away so I haven't been able to get the latest Kel & Basil yet. But I was able to get the last one.
I had to order my own from a japanese person. Sadly they are not sold outside of japan so that was my only way to get one.
I want omori's one so badly
I could make one Long long commentary about kel's art specifically.
It is not just headspace. It's headspace AND real world combined
Hs kel. But instead of milk, we have orange joe that real kel loves, instead of hector we have the pet rock
It's like a strange, melding two worlds, piece
I'm sorry, I'm just incredibly passionate about art and THAT specific Kel piece is one of the few 'modern' pieces that speaks to me so deeply
SO CUTE
He is the cutest and the colors are so good for once
Purple and yellow really shine near each other and his smile- that's a smile to die for.
24th of each month
its written in japanese and then translated back into english so some stuff is lost in translation
also a lot of the stuff that happens in game wouldnt fit very well in a non interactive format so they got rid of some of it
and the main person who makes the manga isnt omocat
omocat helps with it but she doesnt speak fluent japanese so she most likely doesnt write the script
shes chinese-american
raised in the us
shes just a weeb but not actually japanese
she speaks some japanese but not to the level of fluency afaik
why is ts so tuff
bro posing like he really strong to the girl that tanked a whole ass pillar falling into her completely unharmed 2 pages later
💀
and they still censored the kissing scene
its just a kiss bro💀
They about to break up 5 minutes later after kissing like this
why the fuck did they name him Buddy
also a reminder that just a few panels ago sweetheart was crushed under debris
her plot armor is stronger than omori's
Any idea when's the next chapter?
around the 24th of each month
buddy does exist in the game but he doesn’t have much of a role other than searching for pluto
aren't they just called Space Pirate or something like that
well yeah, but each of them has individual names like Space Pirate Dude, Space Pirate Buddy, Space Pirate Bro and so on
That's if they even include him at this point
there is no way
they HAVE TO
its like
the most recognizable headspace fight
either they will do it or omocat will force him to
7 total rn
new ones come out around the 24th of each month
At least they gave an uncensored version of that kiss
On Nui's twitter specifically
i thought the whole point of that fight is that its a character u fought before
like u know who he is way before that moment in the game
Yeah thats part of why its recognizable!
so does nui think they can just fast track that
poor pluto
nui would probably take away all his muscles anyway if they drew him
I hope nui does the most detailed muscles on pluto and keeps his flex line in
And kel and Pluto training
I still think Pluto will be omitted entirely.

why did they decided to publish the censored one though?

That or they just save him for the Jawsum Arc
I think it's a recreation of a scene from the game.
Poor, poor Pluto. One of the coolest side characters in game, it may not even be mentioned
We still love him!
Funny how they censor this in a horror game
I laughed my fckin ass off when I reached that panel
Its as classic as it was back then with the game
OF COURSE it is
Jawsum arc 🔥❗️❗️❗️❗️

Jawsum Arc will be fire
i guess that's fair
CAPITALISM 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Hey, visual developer and storytelling artist here. I respect a lot of your criticism and you’re voicing a valid subjective opinion, but I will comment on the objective stuff and some of my opinion if you don’t mind :)
I think you’re comparing two artworks that serve completely different purposes in different contexts, which isn’t really fair from a storytelling standpoint. Omocat still makes artwork packed with the ethereal, whimsical feeling that you point out in the examples provided regarding the old art style, while having the improved proportions, color harmony, brush work and shape language of their new style.
I personally just think that the issue here is with the example artwork choice, not the art style itself. Artists create a variety of artworks that all convey different emotions, and I’m sure that if omocat created the same type of artworks all the time it would be deemed repetitive and boring.
Sometimes the choice of bold color is made to reflect very specific emotions, and that is not always applicable in art, especially promotional artworks. Also in my opinion I disagree with what you said about the generic lines and whatnot, I find omocat’s use of texturing and thick-to-thin patterns fairly unique and fitting for omori and its story.
thats so oop 😭
I guess so. That's what Mari is for. (Don't make a sexist joke please) But well... we know what happened there.
So he never needed to learn how to cook.
Raw? Didn't he grab it out of the refrigerator not freezer?
If he ate pork or chicken he'd be more than sick. 😭
I see where you're coming from.
OMOCAT's old art style reminds me of Luke Pearson's style.
It's like a psuedo cartoonish serious realistic art style. It can't really be explained.
From the picture it DID look cooked
you see grill marks so either he's hallucinating them OR the steak was cooked and just refrigetrated
hallo
Waiting on chapter 8 be like
also someone made a website now that just has all the chapters for free
so finding it outside k manga territory shouldn’t be too hard now lol
curious what thoughts ppl had on chapter 7
i was reading the old messages here too and I’m so sad the graphic novel she made about omori has become lost media😢😢😢
Afaik a low quality image that showed a collection of panels is pretty much the only evidence there is
I rly want to know what happened in the original
Where can I buy read just witness the manga in general
pretty sure it's on webtoon (correct me if i'm wrong)
...
it’s on k manga if you’re in the us, japan, canada, australia, new zealand, singapore, philippines, thailand, vietnam, hong Kong, taiwan, india, mexico, or brazil
if you aren’t then you can’t legally read it unless you use a vpn (but it’s paywalled after the 3rd chapter and chances are they don’t accept your country’s credit card)
