the reason why he brought up the difference in opinions is because an omori manga, and potentially subsequent anime, relies heavily on what japan thinks about the product. in japan, the omori manga is seen as a positive thing, and the general consensus about it is that it's a good thing that it exists and that it doesn't substract from the game. additionally, the recent voice actor reveal for basil was also met with compliments, whereas the western audience voiced some concerns over it, along with compliments, of course.

right now, the most popular of these mods is reverie, which is currently not finished, but there's 3 chapters worth of content, and i've only heard good things about it.

there is currently no way of legally reading the english version of the manga for non-US citizens, but what you can do is to use a VPN to connect to KManga with a United States IP Address, which should give you access to the website. be mindful that the website stores a cookie when you first visit it while not using a US IP, so as to remember that you're not meant to access the site. to circumvent this, you can clear the cookies for KManga before accessing it with your VPN, so that the website can perform the check again.
additionally, i've read from a user in this server, that KManga has recently opened itself to more countries outside the united states, so i'd say it's worth clearing KManga's cookies, and trying to access it without a VPN. maybe you're lucky and can now access KManga from germany!

otherwise, your other option would be to read the japanese version of the manga, which is available to everyone who's willing to visit it, and can be found here: https://comic-days.com/episode/2550689798731966148 one benefit of this version is that the resolution of the panels is superior to the english release, so if you're confident in your japanese reading abilities, or you are willing to use a translator to read the manga, then the japanese version should provide a better experience.

with all that being said, a few extra details that you might be interested in, is that the english version and japanese version offer different prices for their readers; 4.00$USD per chapter for the english version (starting from chapter 4 and onwards), and a variable amount of "points" for each chapter in the japanese version, with the exception to this being chapter 1 and chapter 4, which are free to read.

The Plot: that is adapted in a more "fast-paced" way, where certain parts of the story such as the order in which characters are introduced, and the speed at which certain scenes go are changed to be more "dynamic", possibly to reduce the amount of pages needed to be drawn, or to make the plot more digestible for readers of the manga who might not have liked the original story of omori, or to simply appeal to a wider audience. an example of this, which happens in the very first chapter, is || that our introduction to sunny is right after he wakes up, and the first sequence we see is the "three days left" sequence in the real world; kel, aubrey, and basil are first presented in their realworld counterparts, and later, towards the end of the chapter, presented in their headspace counterparts ||

The Artstyle: which is somewhat inconsistent in its quality, with some panels clearly given more time than others. the uneven quality in the panels gives a feeling of the manga being "rushed", which can leave a bad taste, knowing some of the drawings could have looked better had the manga been delayed. so far, there are 6 chapters, with a 7th one coming out on the 24th of this month (same date as every other month), and the art has remained at a "consistent" quality throughout all of them, with consistent in quotation marks, since some random panels look much better than other ones. attached are three panels, which i found to be good, average, and bad looking respectively
additionally, there's also a concern of some (or all) of the characters being portrayed in disrespectful, or inappropriate manners. basil in particular is the one you'll find the most disagreement on

The Artist: who has some controversy attached to himself, due to partaking in the creation of mangas or drawings portraying shtacȯn. this makes him a questionable artist to pick, considering omocat's past controversies, and the context of omori
