my theory is that OMORI carries the guilt so Sunny can be free on it

OMORI is the repression, but he's also the guilt Sunny carries

That's why in either ending, they're absorbed into the other

Sunny absorbed by guilt because repression is no longer possible, kills himself

Sunny absorbs the guilt in the good ending, which motivates him into telling the truth

If Sunny kills OMORI, like in "I'm you." he's essentially killing any guilt he had left
