on wt the main way to stop your plane on the air field is to plant the engine into the ground

if you land you repair so it doesnt matter but you just hold the brake, tip forward killing the engine, then let the friction slow the plane

yea on a lot of bigger planes the engines need a secondary power unit to start them up. now on airliners are very big planes they will have an APU (auxiliary power unit) on the plane itself to fire up the engines. some of those smaller private jets just arent big enough to house a generator to start the engines so the airport has to supply them
