Yes, that latter is kinda abandonware but very good one (worth waiting for 90% sale in my case) with unique feature, which is only in ETRC-water cooled brakes, while wayer cooling is operated manualy and with not very big water tank-on faster circuits with sharp turns like Misano is challenge to have water and working brakes for full race. Also Misano is challenge in other aspect too-penalty markers-there is a LOT of them here and in most awkeard places since trucks are not very nimble

rudder only makes the nose wheel turn 10 degrees, you'll either want an axis for nose wheel steering. Or, link the rudder and tiller in the efb

I had a pretty nice time with the demo myself and I've gotten into snowrunner since then, RC feels like a really great middle point between the playstyle of Snowrunner and FS.

I just wish the game had proper wheel/joystick support :c

tried their discord for help and got someone try to help but it didn't work. no one else offered help, not even the staff/dev's so i gave up, never bothered to pre order it due to the issues i had.

It's just silly to go into a game expecting it to be something it's clearly marketed as not being, has a demo so you can try it, and then being upset when shockingly it's not Snowrunner and isn't trying to be

Yeah I find it very cool, it slots nicely amongst farm sim and construction sim

Though it's quite removed from farm sim the road making kinda feels like fieldwork

12 hours. I never expected it to be more than they said. But they did claim big open world maps. The maps aren't big at all, they just like previous titles just made everything else slower...

Crane controls are confusing. Different cranes have different controls. First, make them all equal. And second, why in the world are we forced to use what FS calls simple crane controls? It makes everything Soo much difficult. And to make it worse, if you use a crane on a steep slope the game just gets confused and switches the inputs.

For road missions, you can just put a worker on. And it will finish in seconds, but if you do the sand manually, you have to spend an hour making trips back and forth. There's no benefit in doing it yourself.

A whole heap of graphical glitches.

Steering return on controllers sometimes glitches out and instead of retuning to senter increases the amount you turn

The turn radius on wheeled machine is so bad, which is funny, considering how important that is when going offroad. I have to do a 6 point turn to turn around, like what.

The cable layer is just horrid as the plow dosent follow the terrain.

You still can't strap down machines. So they slide off the transport.

Tracks and such in the dirt dosent save.

And why even build roads when it's faster to just build wood bridges everywhere

Those crane controls locks it so you can't drive while they are active. Which makes forestry really painful as you have to constantly switch

It is what it is, everybody has an opinion, you don't have to like it. If i say that the game is not a goty or simply boring, is my opinion and that's it. Don't need to play 100 hours to post a review for the game that i payed. The game is kind of fun but technically deficient.

Yeah shockingly a truck crane and a 50 ft crane on rails have a few differences in controls.

It's somewhat valid critque though it does come down to preference. Mainly certain actions are given priority, I.e. rope length adjustment is sometimes moved to face buttons on stationary cranes that can't use those buttons elsewhere, so that the dpad can be used for other axes

But imo it usually makes sense. Up/Down is normally rope length adjustment, but on a crane that has a mobile hook it moves the hook up and down instead, and rope adjustment is now face buttons

There’s co op for only certain routes but you are stuck with the older consist from trainz 12

Other than that there’s no co-op if you want co-op you can do that in run 8 train simulator

So if you want to play this with people yea it won’t be happening only in run 8 will you be able to play with other people there are servers for that but if you don’t know much about real life train operations then the learning curve is high and those servers they do require you to have a good amount of knowledge unless it’s a newbie server

yeah the idea is disaster relief, so roads and infastructure as a priority. there's cable laying and a lot of crane work to clear debris and gather/move resources

But don't listen to anyone who is adamantly against the game, 95% of them are ppl who have played 5 hrs of snowrunner and didn't like that RC wasn't the exact same thing.

The reality is snowrunner isn't even punishing, there's literally nothing you can do in Snowrunner which punishes you mechanically. Even SR is very low pressure

From my POV (I have og Spintires from 2014 and Snowrunner, RC I have seen only in videos) it is different genre and target playerbase than Snowrunner. I would say that it is more offroady Construction Sim. Almost merging SR and CS in one game but not perfectly and not best things from both (I know that CS is from Astragon/Weltenbauer). But I would appreciate this engine in SR overhaul/SR 2 as road making in SR maps and setting of game itself would be incredible. Of course, would be more later game than early game but still

Skill-wise Snowrunner translates pretty well, RC does feel like easy mode in terms of offroading and the crane strength/effectiveness of crane anchors is off the charts comparatively. I picked up a tree mulcher with a compact self loading crane and drove it down the road lmao

Imo road building and snowrunner don't seem to fit together in the same space because.. once you've made the roads good, what's the point? The fun of snowrunner is managing the routes that are available. I can see maybe it'd be cool as an endgame, but SR already has missions to improve roads that kinda achieve that.

Also, the technical aspects of Roadcraft like permanent ground deformation/pouring sand only work on smaller maps. Snowrunner has a more temporary deformation system much like fs25. RC is limited to 2km x 2km maps as of right now

I don't know what it was but changing the handrails made it better. Here's a comparison to my failed switcher project

Axle count remained the same and really trains in stormworks are so broken that weight really has little effect on traction, wheels matter way more

The diesel mechanical powertrain sucked and even when I went to a diesel electric it still had the issue because the generator clutch engaged way too aggresively
The new one has more torque because I think the old one actually has a 3 cylinder engine

I don't run the generator at all times
It's set up so that at idle the generator is fully off, the throttle on the traction motors is set to 1 and I vary the power to them instead of varying their throttle

The old one varied both motor and engine throttle with a single lever and it was insanely touchy
