is pretty easy once you understand the fundamentals, and Magnum that is one of the aims of KSP 2 as well to make it easier for most players to get into the game

KSP 1 lacked a lot of tools

like one of the important thing when doing a manoeuvre in space to say go from sub-orbital to an orbital trajectory is to burn half on either side of the manoeuvre point, that way you get the most efficient fuel burn

in ksp 1 that was never really taught and you did not even have a proper manoeuvre planning tool

the performance is good enough for a EA title, optimisation is NEVER the first thing a dev works on especially for EA because they intend to introduce more stuff which will likely break everything they fixed with performance so that's always in one of the last stages(yes spaceship pun), they will of course make some improvement over time
