farm equipment wise most stuff from the 70s is beyond capable of being the big horse on most farms, even here in america. farm equipment from the 70s isnt old. time wise it may feel old but it still can do the work at a competitive rate where as stuff from 60s and below is typically below 130hp, and cant keep up with stuff thats just a decade newer without aftermarket turbos etc etc

again, not really. my 1977 4430 has an extremely comfortable cab, yes it may be loud, but i have airpod pros in all the time anyways and they do an extremely good job at killing sound. my 1978 7700 turbo, my first combine, has the same seat, keeps dust out, has working heat just like the 4430, and the cab always gets a good seal so 9 times out of 10 im having to open the door for 30ish seconds because im getting too sweaty and im too lazy to take off my coat.

and fuel consumption is relative to how you use the tractor. personally i know how to stretch one tank of diesel out forever since my massey 1135 doesnt have a working fuel gauge, and i've gotten used to keeping track of how I use my fuel and how much fuel is burned in an hour etc etc

Still doesn't compare to modern machinery, even with the heaters, modern machines can create a microclimate that is neither too hot neither too cold, old machinery is in no way bad, but modern ones are just undoubtedly better at everything, hence they are much more expensive
