Well in short it used to be the industrial rock crusher mod but then the guy made it so you can make computer parts and turn corn into bioplastic. Anyways for some reason when I set my rock quarry to distribute to the rock crusher it backs up with rocks then bottle necks it to a full stop

It backs up with rocks and that makes my rock qurry back up with rocks, and worse it dosent even distribute the quartz sand to make silica to make semi conductors

If the quarry works at a faster pace than the crusher then it will reach capacity

of our current 8R370s only one has it, formerly meant for a rotary silage spreading drum (Reck drum) and for a 9ft front mulcher to stop the subsoiler from clogging up while tilling the tramlines in canola stubble

but the reason why they wanted to swap said 8R370 is because it has got almost 8000h on it now, even though they only got it in february 2021

and apparently around 8k hours is when they start having engine and transmission trouble, which we have been able to confirm this year when it randomly blew a water pump

why does grass not decay in the field? If you leave it too long but every other crop does

also, from what I understand allowing grass or props to sit for a few months in an anaerobic environment(low oxygen) allows any residual bacteria on the plant to die. so the cows body can dedicate more energy towards digesting

The silage is preserved through the acidic nature of the organic acids produced by bacteria in the silage itself. They consume plant sugars without oxygen lowering the pH of the heap and eliminating the bulk of the bacteria that cause spoilage

Once the clamp is opened organisms will try to grow on it, like moulds

Actually, drying (ie hay) and silaging actually lowers the nutritional content to the cow because you are losing some of the energy that was available when it was fresh grass stood in the field.

But that's a small price to pay to obtain a product which can be stored long term without rotting

The big bonus from silage is that by chopping it relatively short the cow can physically eat more than she would in fresh grass

Also silage and hay have predictable day after day characteristics. Grass in a field can vary in fibre, protein and water content so it's variable one day to the next

The cow eats the fibre and the bacteria in the rumen use fermentable energy and protein to reproduce massively. The cow then digests these microbes as a form of protein.

The cow herself cannot digest plant matter containing cellulose, for the same reason humans can't. We just don't have the enzymes to do it. But the cow cheats by having a huge cauldron to grow bacteria and feed them and these little guys do have the right molecular machinery to break cellulose down.

Humans and other primates had other gut adaptations because we used to live in the trees and eat plants but a sub species of these apes grew bigger brains so they could grow smarter. This meant they needed a higher protein diet to sustain this bigger brain and so surviving on plants solely wasn't really an option any longer.

Convienuently these apes also took to standing up right which meant they could physically see farther and it's more energy efficient than walking on 4 limbs. This meant early humans could run long distances with extreme endurance in mind. No other animal predator on Earth can do this. Neither the Cheetah, the horse, the zebra nor the giraffe. They are capable of high speed but early humans hunted them in groups over long distances and simply chased them down. This ability meant we could hunt despite having pretty basic teeth and no claws.

We've sacrificed our upper body strength compared to the other apes to be able to walk and run a long way. If you watch Gorillas and the like walk they are very awkward and it's not energy efficient. They are designed to live in the forest. We are creatures of the African plains where our height and endurance were great assets. Later we grew smart enough to fashion tools and simple technology to help us.
