Mods from 3rd party sites can be malicious, they usually aren't. Like literally anything you download from untrusted sources, and sometimes trusted ones too.

If you're paranoid - check with MS Safety Scanner. Standard Defender or any other AV should be pretty good at discovering stealer-type viruses. I do think you should be fine, never hurts to double check.

Script mods can cause really weird things.

Often when weird bugs like that occur, it's a script mod, or two script mods messing with eachother.

always check the game without mods, to make sure it's not just a mod issue 🙂

Console mods need to be approved by GIANTS, and mod testing for FS22 ended several weeks after FS25 was released

has to do with the crop that was planted on the field before AFAIK

some crops leave stubble in FS25 (and 22)
