The "looking old and used" is part of the paintwork though. You should be able to keep up maintenance while still having worn down paint.

do note that when you terraform in an area that building author has deemed needing to be flat, you might make triggers on it (and such) not exactly work as intended.

If you're the one placing the placeable, it also helps to smoothen the terrain first, and then placing the placeable in free mode.

In real life, a log piece that's about 50-60 centimeters long, can be over 50 kilograms depending on the wood type, so in order to lift them by yourself, yeah, they're going to need to be cut quite small. 😅
