#DCO is unfair towards the regular infantry.

In the past while since we've been using DCO I've had AI shoot me with 100% accuracy through smoke grenades, grass and pitch black scenarios on a regular occurrence, along with AI with their first rounds hitting me in the head and unconning me at distences past 300 metres.

It is quite ridiculous at times.

We are not on an even playing field with this mod. With LAMBS the AI where brutal but at normal fighting distances most rounds where suppression until a change where one of those rounds would hit us and deal damage.

With DCO it does not feel like the AI shoot to suppress anymore, they just shoot to kill and kill with 100% lethality.

Tbh sounds like a skill issue. DCO forces you to work with other units/assets. If you have 1-2 line squads, a weapons squad/team, and either savage/reaper/demon/butcher you usually do just fine.

DCO punishes you if you’re in the open, just like a real player would. Use cover and coordinated fires and you’ll have less issues.

Lambs also had issues where you were one shot/first shot insta uncon.

#

DCO also doesn’t increase lethality of the rounds fired, AI are just more accurate and can “talk” to each other so if one guy spots you, the whole squad does

Honestly, a lot of people's problems with AI could be solved with one trick; Move smarter

Seriously, I have probably 10-15 hours of streams saved from the past 2 days playing as FTL and medic in Jak's squads where we'd do fireteam bounds from one compound to the next, getting ourselves from hard cover to hard cover, and getting 50-75% of the way into the objective with no casualties. Some objectives, we'd get no casualties.

I could type a whole rant but basically: skill issue. They engage through smoke on purpose. They shoot for your last known position, the EXACT same way you would if your enemy dropped a smoke in front of themselves.

They also will be much easier to manage under overwhelming fire. I have seen so many people who wanna be a SAW and seem to be afraid of their machine gun or way too liberal with the ammo and run out. Knowledge on proper use of it will dramatically increase your ability to get close enough to frag them out.

Yep

Last night as squad medic everyone got killed on one knee height rock trying to get to one guy because they either didn't use smoke or used smoke n didn't come back to my safe place with a body.

I popped smoke and let it billow before running up, grabbed a body, and ran back to where I was. Actually saved a few guys doing that n getting a couple others to do the same

People trying to go for casualties before winning the fight is also a common cause of finding 5 corpses spooning behind one piece of bad cover…

yea no offense this seems like human error not ai error

Skill issue

Or do you expect the enemy to supress you even though they have direct line of Sight? xdxd

Etch still has a valid point though. The one shot uncon's are a little bleh to be honest.

DCO doesn`t change damage

#

it is a server/desync issue at least as far as i know

But to all of this might I just add alot of this is at distances of 300 metres, while bounding with fire and using proper cover. My issue is that they are fucking crack shots on THEIR FIRST SHOT THROUGH SMOKE WITH NO PRIOR CONTACT.

I'm fine with them punishing re-peaking and bad positioning.

Today I watched a 240 gunner shoot in an AI's direction. The AI just whipped around and shot him once in the head.

I bound and fire more suppression shots than actual fucking shots to kill. I'm sorry if I'm sounding salty but just saying "skill issue" is ignoring that even under full squad suppression these AI do not give a fuck and start one tapping.

I had it happen 5 times today alone.

that sounds like a skill issue xd...

????

signal moat

because my squad was doing fine if we used the terrain xd...and i honestly do not belive that 90+ Percent of the players survive normally and 10 percent get targeted by magic ai bug shots

In my experience the people who are dying often play to fast...of course everyone can die but if you stay low you will survive longer on avrage.

eh, ive noticed it varies for me, i can get 1 tapped multiple times in one restart and slot a different role and not get touched almost at all the next restart

stiff helm
#

Especially since I watch you guys get mass cas'd all over the server day in and out and march dead bodies from the PB to Objective

signal moat
#

Marksman also exist...but they hit you with their 2nd or 3rd shot and kill you...if you get shot at by a marksman and don`t get to cover it is a skill issue

#

but i am not saying that this is the case with you it is just a possibility

late yacht
#

thats fair, but thats not what im refering to, ive literally seen AI infantry with a single AK, turn and snapshot me and 1-tap me into uncon

signal moat
#

yeah that is just arma...

late yacht
#

funnily enough this happens to me mostly when im playing as medic, when i slot GL or TL or SL i rarely have that happen

signal moat
#

medics are high priority for snipers and marksman...sounds like it was a marksman killing you...which means it is working like intended

late yacht
#

again, i know the difference in audio between a marksman and a rifleman, and when its happening at 300ish meters from an ak, it still is kinda meh

Okay so what do you define as using terrain then?

When I move, it's always cover to cover and fire by move. And if I have any type of control of a squad I lay down fire and move.
Look I'm a fucking idiot, but I understand that movement without fire in combat is not good movement and rushing in without understanding what your up against is stupid.
