I am using sonar with the stream selection and have set my audio as the video's have shown. I'm now I'm at a loss I cant find a fix, even the simple unplug and use a different USB port isn't working.

Anyone else having problems with their Sonar not sending sound to their DAC? With GG 73 today the game/chat/media Sonar settings have no audio to the nova pro wireless. I have to set Windows to "Headphones (arctic nova pro wireless)" to get any audio to the DAC.

Weird thing is windows/GG show audio is being sent on that channel supposedly.

The obvious restarting & reinstalling software have happened already. All the firmware are up to date. Safe to say this is some issue with Sonar or the engine in GG?

Oh hey...I fixed it. Here's how. The playback audio under where it says game/chat/media, etc. was changed to my monitor. I changed that back to the headphones & am good to go. I'll leave this up in case anyone else runs into the same issue after updating to GG73.

How do presets work?, I tried testing them out (the walkie talki one in particular) in a call with a friend however they couldn't here a difference.

a lot of the presets make subtle adjustments, but walkie talkie should definitely be more noticeable. i'd double check to make sure that you have the right mic inputs in sonar/discord in case you're accidently skipping sonar

Its on purpose as streaming mode is for professional use. You wouldnt want your whole setup to go crazy mid stream bc you turned your headset off or it ran out of battery

Seeing that I have to use streaming mode for clipping games, which I do on a daily basis, its not used for a limited time. Also, its doesn't take this long to add a simple functionality for those of us that have this, to either allow us to setup sonar configurations for those backup devices in the event we have to swap, or to mute the stream outputs for a limited amount of time at least. We shouldn't be denied the functionality at all

True, but the logistics of implementing a system like that could cause bugs and other problems. They also have other priorities that are much higher on the list. It is not worth putting effort, money, and time into adding a feature that most people don't care about.

And honestly I feel like building backup support to the streamer mode would be a bigger priority than moments (that nobody in the right mind uses) and 3DtrainerLab (which is not their main product here)

based on the fact that the fallback settings explicitly call out "this does not work in streamer mode" i would assume it is less of a bug and more of intentional behavior.

so since it's not a bug it would probably be best to use the feedback tool in the GG app or post in #1070392859125104660 to have it added as an option for streamer mode

though i feel like there's a strong argument that a streamer would NEVER want an input to change without their explicit change. i imagine it would be bad if your game audio suddenly went through your speakers and caused a feedback loop, or your mic switched to your webcam so you're suddenly not muted and things you're saying with the intent of being private no longer is

I updated Windows to 24H2 and error 3762504530 popped up during Sonar startup. Here's how I fixed it:

1. Exit GG
2. Go to device manager, then make sure to Show hidden devices
3. In Audio Inputs & Outputs - Uninstall all drivers related to Sonar (no need to uninstall SS device drivers, but that depend from PC to PC)
4. In Audio Processing Objects - Uninstall Sonar APO
5. In Sound, video and game controllers - Uninstall SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device
6. Download the GG installer and reinstall it
7. Share the good news (or not )

You may need to restart windows before step 6 but in my case, I didn't even have to do that. Sonar worked even installing on top of existing installation. See if this works for you. Otherwise, yuou may need to change up the steps a bit (e.g. restarting windows and uninstalling existing GG before reinstall). I have a feeling that error 3762504530 is due to the windows update as it's showing up not just on GG but some other apps as well.

Hey, My sonar can't change svchost to another channel like it used to. How to fix it? It says svchost didn't allow Sonar to change the audio settings. How to allow sonar to change the audio settings?

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

Hello, If I use Sonar Chat output in Discord, it changes the volume of other speakers dynamically. It seems to lower the volume of other speakers when someone else is speaking.
When I switch to normal output without using sonar, it works normally without modulaing the volume.

Down would indicate that a server/connection issue is preventing Sonar from starting but that's not the case.

Hi guys, need help on GG.
Maybe wrong thread, sorry.
I was using GG for some time, have a registered account on web and all was working perfectly fine.
But the other day, after GG proposed to updated the app, which I did the log in is constantly giving an error as per screenshot.
The log in details and password are the same as was before, nothing changed.
Have no clue what to do.
As a guest, it obviously does not allow to use sonar features, but to use it I cannot login due to some bug.
Any thoughts?

Heya.
For about 2 days now my Sonar isnt working properly. It just stopped working. When I changed stuff with my sound it just didnt update it. Now I found out it updates when I move my app from Game->Chat->Game.

Reinstalled it cause I thought that might fix it and now it just won't give any sound on the "Game" tab at all.
Most apps also say "[App] didn't allow Sonar to change the audio settings."

Anything else I can try to make it work again? Known issue?

the app isn't required to make the headset work. you can just turn it off and the headset works like a basic headset. sonar just adds more features on top of that

Every time my computer is turned off or restarted, Sonar forgets that it should be assigned to a headset automatically for some reason. It finds every other output possible besides the headphones first.

Any way to make it save this stupid setting? Not sure why I would want to mix any of these sources into either of my monitors, or my internal speaker.

That would be a mute button for the virtual stream output line. Turn off streamer mode, and that option goes away.

First off all, it supports 96kHz/24bit. Second of all, 192kHz????? That's way way WAYYY beyond out hearing

when i don't want that at start up since by default i have another channel i wanna keep

and use the sonar gaming only in game

unfortunately there's no way to disable this. once sonar turns on it'll set itself as the main output in Windows. if you only use Sonar when gaming then maybe one workaround would be to disable GG turning on at startup and only open GG when you're about to play a game?

keep in mind that Sonar works with all audio devices like built in speakers or third party headsets, so you can always just use Sonar for everything and just have Sonar route to the needed devices.

i NEED GG/Sonar to stop changing my device to the gaming virtual device every time i boot up my PC. i have disabled all features that can do this, but it is still doing it on every startup.

ive been waiting months for a supposed fix incoming, and all i got was the ability to disable one of the like 8 virtual devices sonar decides i need to have.

the only thing i use sonar for is mic gain, because the headset itself does not let me boost gain in windows 10 using its native methods.

and i am tired of having a ton of cpu overhead and an enormous list of virtual devices to sift through, just so i can be heard on mic.

Has anyone had any experience with Sonar routing all system sounds to the Mic? I can't enable my personal mix on the mic to hear myself because as soon as I click it any audio playing on the system gets fed to the mic.

Listen to this device is not checked in sound settings in windows.

If I close Sonar, the problem goes away and I can use the mic without feedback and listen to my system sounds at the same time.

Especially the Game one is annoying as it creates its own headphone output device and I cannot change its volume using normal keys, only through the sonar app. Could be because I'm using bluetooth headphones but I still don't need it and want to use my headphones as the default output at all times

I had a flatter curve to start out. depends on what ur trying to hear. I was hearing different stuff pop out in songs. I just settled on that for the balance of it? scoped mids but doesnt loose the essence of the mid. the one next to the one in mids helps guitars. other lil one is for guitar aswell.. last high I had to play with to tighten?. the dip at the end is to keep the drums snair sounding good. I use apple musics EQ pre amp all the way down to compress it I think too so its not overly loud. cleans it up some reason idk.

I think my bass curve is perfect lol.. reason for the spike is to keep the bass thin so it doesnt take over the whole song idk

not only that but you also get used to sth. let me tell you a story about that.
I had a typical cheap bass bleed headset and Eq'ed always the bass up (bass boost preset). Then I got the nova 7 and every preset exept bass boost pierced my ears. I was so disapointed with the flat curve.
However now I use V shaped curves, or even curves that boost the bass only slightly but extremely boost the treble. Honestly I couldnt go back to a only bassy curve as I can't hear anything. It sounds sooo muddy and I like clear sound with those ASMR 10khz+ treble spikes

hm honestly then just adjust the volume about half way on the ps5 and then adjust on the headset the way you like

Sonar is used to enhance your audio on the PC that is currently running it. Changes in Sonar only apply to the machine it's running on and cannot be saved to the headset.

Sonar outputs don't show in the Sonar dropdown. otherwise you'd be able to set sonar to output to itself which wouldn't really work.

got arctis 7+ for like 2 years or so and im quite content with it but the last couple months i keep having to debug why it's not giving audio to discord or at all and it's starting to get annoying. I think at least half the time it's after the GG updates and resets my output devices or readds them (so now im on device 3 even though i've only ever had one) but sometimes it's a different issue and sometimes i just dont have the time to figure out why it doesnt work

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.
