Hey, I also noticed this sonar loading issue, in my case it looks like it happens after I shut down windows and turn it back on later. In that scenario sonar gots stuck on loading and in the system I don't have sonar device available. When I reboot windows it gets back to normal. So in my case it appears as it has an issue after system shutdown and start - I guess it might be related to this approach windows have to shutdown where it does not do full reboot actually.

i'd look at a basic sonar setup guide. I made the sonar settings using an arctis pro wireless and find that it helps me hear footsteps quite well

I've got an issue where a game (No Man's Sky) only produces sound/audio when the window is in focus.
This means that it shows as unrouted in Sonar, and when I try to click/drag into the appropriate category, the focus isn't on the game window any longer and the tag I'm dragging disappears and won't go into the category.

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

Hi, has anyone else been having issues with sonar the last few days? Very rare that I have issues with my headset but latley it won't connect with sonar and the app just sticks on loading screen if i hit sonar section

Anyone having issues with the "Chat Mix" not working? My Nova Pro Wireless doesn't change to the adjustment when pressing the volume wheel on the headset or the DAC. It seems to be since a windows 10 driver on Windows Update came through for Steelseries yesterday. Why the hell would the add a driver to windows when the do 10 updates to GG a month? Either way, anyone else in the same boat?

You could setup the different audio channels for different games and select the relevant audio device in game. Like, COD on Game, LOL on Media, Diablo on Aux. It would only work if the game lets you choose the audio device or you set it up in windows audio setting to work

that percentage is the volume level in Windows, so it's possible some other program is accessing and lowering the volume. If any other programs/games you use has "automatic gain control" then that could be lowering it.

The EQ in Sonar is able to be tuned a lot more than the base EQ in Engine. I have the Nova Pro Wireless and am running an EQ I found on youtube by GadgetryTech, it is a detailed video on how to tune the EQ in Sonar and explains why he is doing some of what he did with the EQ settings. Might be worth a look before you return them.

Never had an issue with my Nova Pro Wireless mic. I know discord can be funny sometimes, especially when there is low bandwidth, and can mess with mic quality. Aside from that, if you just got the headset, make sure it is set to the correct device in Discord. Windows has automatically switched my default mic from my headset to my VR or my webcam and I haven't noticed, might be worth a check. You can also enable "sidetone" on the headset which play the mic audio through the speakers and you should be able to hear if there is a problem.

There is a Sonar audio device called Mic, if you set the audio program to play music to that channel I would think it would play that audio as if the microphone was hearing it. You might be able to set the device in the music program or you can change it in Windows audio settings for the program.

Is there an option to prevent sonar from switching output devices? I have so many output devices in my PC (Line-Out, HDMI, Yeti Microfone output, ...). When I connect my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset all virtual channels swith to it - great. But once I turn my headset of, the output devices will switch to one of the others. I don't want that as I am using the Line-Out on my DAC. How can I prevent this constant auto-switching of output devices?

sonar has a few options to tweak the audio from the mic. I tend to use balanced with AI Noise cancellation - everything else off.

Just noticed that the master volume actually follows whatever is set on the game and chat channels. So if the master is at 100% and your game or chat is at 50%, whenever you restart your pc. By default, master volume would set itself to 50%. Anybody knows a fix on this?

You just proved the mic is fine, the problem is likely discord. I would try another program too, any voice chat, and check if it is only discord.

You usually don't have the "Master" set as the default device, your main default audio device in Windows is usually going to be Game. If you adjust the volume in Windows, be it with a keyboard volume wheel, on the volume icon or your headset volume wheel, you are adjusting the Windows volume level and it will stay at what you set it as until you change it, even after a restart.

Another question... probably not so much Sonar but Logitech related. Maybe someone here has a solution. I use the Logitech G915TKL with has a volume rocker and mute button. This one though controls the windows set device (Sonar Game). I would love for it to control the Sonar Master channel instead. Unfortunately Logi G Hub doesn't allow me to change the action on these buttons. Any other chance for me to remap them to Sonar Master?

Try shutting down GG and restarting it. In Task Manager, right click all Steelseries processes and "End Task". Then start GG again. This happens a few times a week for me and this makes it work again for a while

If you always want to set a program to a specific audio channel (game, chat, etc), set it in the Windows audio config to use that device, that way you don't have to re-route them every time

I find it depends on the program, some show up for me and others don't. I think the program recognition that Sonar has isn't very good and doesn't detect them properly. I use EarTrumpet to route all my audio, works really good for me.

If you are able to get sonar working then boost your highs a bit, remove the boxy tones that can be found somewhere in the midrange, and then cut off any lows below about 30-50hz, they rumble too much and just don’t sound good
