I use as i said a quadcast s its done me really well, sounds good and has PLENTY of volume and gain to play with

although they used marketting that is false for it and its been claimed it sounds on par with most regular mics and peaks at the lowest gain setting still

I made a feature request to rework the eq and bass adjustments because my phones eq over bluetooth these things thump in a naturally subtle way but on sonar they have like 0 bass

But it was awhile ago and i assume it's not going to get fixed/changed

I'm a audiophile so i need to get the best quality sound i can from my headphones and sonar doesn't do that for anything but games imo

Figured id take to letting some people know that use the arctis nova pro that if they're unsatistfied with the audio on a $300 pair of headphones that it's not the headphones

although modded drivers for stuff do exist nobody complains about sonar like nova pro users do because most people using sonar use it for streaming or dont have these headphones and use a brand like senhiesser which sounds fine with it because these are super sensitive headphone drivers with slightly less power then what they truely need they clip when misused

but the detail is amazing because they are so sensitive

These without sonar compair in audio quality to my HD600's

in pure detail

Spacially they lack because they are closed backs but thats fine because these have noise canceling and the HD600's you gotta use in a silent room

If you want pure sound quality, jabra earbuds (german audio brand)

Or id recomend senhieser, AKG, or KZN

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

Hi, I setup Sonar for the first time and I'm setting up OBS too. I followed a YouTube video but for some reason when I record myself for testing the game music comes through but not my mic. And, when I make changes to the track I can sometimes hear my voice but it was super low while the music loud. I made adjustments on the mixer but the game is still too loud and my voice doesn't come through.

What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar when the current device turns off, or becomes unavailable. For example, Sonar can detect when a Nova headset is disabled, and automatically switch your Sonar output to your speakers.

I encountered this problem a long time ago, let me explain: I had no sound in my headphones, I looked in Windows at what output was set - Steelseries Sonar - Gaming. For some reason, the headphone sound output switched to Realtek. Well, everything seems to be chic, the sound works on Realtek, but here the program (Steelseries GG) simply does not allow you to increase the sound, it writes: Assign Sonar devices as default sound devices.. As far as I know the PS5 has only sound output over HDMI.
You then would need some way to get the Audio Signal into your PC.

If your TV for example has Optical Audio Output you could use that.
But then your PC would need an optical Audio Input. Usually PCs only have Output.
Maybe there are devices for that.
Another option would be a HDMI Audio splitter between the PS5 and TV that outputs an analog audio Signal from the HDMI signal into your PCs LineIn input.
Then you could output that LineIn Signal into a sonar audio channel which outputs that signal into your DAC.

i usually disable GG on PC, and use Presets which where uploaded to GameDAC 2 while scrolling DAC wheel, ez, some of the presets fit to 2-3 games, even if it says CoD MW2 (i can use for several FPShooters), or Apex, or D IV

one good preset for footsteps was in GG app, and it's not transferred to GameDAC 2, sadly, maybe not enough memory in DAC2? but there's plenty of gigabytes in app, or PC, how you name it, preset called CSGO or CS2 by Twistzz (FaZe), but not CSGO by Valve, whatever presets done by Valve, is crap

First off updates arent “every week” secondly the default device is set via the steelseries gg app, its not even a physical device so when the software is restarted the steelseries default device is gone from the list until the software starts up again. Hello, can someone help me? My friends are complaining of a craky microphone. I cant seem to find a fix to this?

To make a long story short, I recently have an Arctis 5 with a cable, until yesterday there were no problems and normally with the sonar on, the microphone worked and now you can barely hear me and you can hear me as if I was underwater, can it be fixed somehow?

funny enough, i don;t like wz3 eq for cs2 either, i use warzone II eq for cs2!, and it's great, prefer it more than csgo/cs2 eq by valve/Twistzz for cs2, lol! it's calm, it reduces wind and whistles chirping by birds and stupid trains or cars

Nah unless you are jailbroken, look for Viper Audio. There might be a non-jb one --
If you have an Android, there exists something called Viper4Android, check it out, choc-full of features like headset surround sound and bass/clarity boost as well as an EQ.

Question for Sonar GG : Will there be way to choose which primary , headphones can be choosen in an Master instance ?
Cause having 2 , 1 primar headphones that goes into pc and 1 via usb hub .
For example having line in settings that will make 1 be choosen over the primary one .

2nd thing: Why is only Mic and Stream avaible for Discord ?
Why not all others like Media , aux , chat etc...
I would like to have setting of Aux, Media etc.. but in mic form aswell.
The way i wanna use it is Mic is primary Microphone , that goes into program and the program gets info into Aux and from there to stuff like obs, discord etc...
Why isnt that possible ?

it's been 3 hours of spinning so far, restarted twice, reset the audio devices, ended services, reinstalled software. this is a common issue. is something available mods? yes/no/don't know?

Don´t know if it will help, but:
When I was tinkering with Sonars database file, I had the same problem.
After writing something into the database file, that the program couldn´t read, it would just show a blank screen when starting.
Maybe you should try to uninstall sonar and then make sure the folder with the database file is actually gone.
In that video (How to Fix GG not starting) I didn´t see any mention of that.
Also I don´t know if that folder is being deleted or not, when uninstalling GG. I can´t try that right now.

The Files are in the Folder C:\ProgramData\Steelseries
ProgramData is a hidden folder in Windows.
I´d just delete the whole Steelseries folder if it´s still there.

Hey all, ive tried the last few days to get my mic on nova pro headset to pick up on discord, I have tried both the "certified" sonar mic and also the generic sonar mic. It will not pick up my audio at all, if i quit discord all together, and then test the mic in sonar it works fine, soon as i open discord, ZERO sound pickup. Any ideas?

yea apparently shadowplay only uses 1 audio out

just search shadowplay in this channel and you will find same issues

i found a workaround tho

put everything in chat

and then select your physical speakers/headset in the output

so every new game, you will have to manually put it into chat

and everytime your pc boots up you have to manually select your speakers/headset output

Hello, you know how Sonar gaming device is 96khz 24 bit. Do all games support this resolution or does it adjust down to 48k 24 bit for games which don't? Thank you!

it will all sound the same regardless though

44.1k 48khz 88.2khz 96khz 192.... etc etc will all sound the same

and the bit depth is related to the digitial noisefloor of the signal and will never be important to the end user
