can someone please help me i just bought the nova pro wireless and im trying to find a good sound setting for either sonar or the EQ i used the preset on sonar for tarkov and it sounds terrible i cant hear any foot steps

it's really bass heavy as you can see so if you want to drag those down feel free too

Oh hey for anyone stumbling upon this, feel free to copy my eq. This is for general use so gaming, music, youtube, everything. And check out my next message reply for my chat and mic eq's as they are quite far back

These above will lead you to my microphone and chat eq's You don't need nova's for the microphone one but I would suggest them for the nova's specifically (and any other hiss-ish microphone). This below, in the screenshot, is a better suited eq for something like a QuadCast X/S. If you experience microphone hiss though, even on non nova's, you can definitely use the nova eq to get rid of it

hey guys, got some questions for you - I have the Arctis Pro + GameDAC and I want to hear the footsteps in Warzone:

1. do I have to set the settings to default in the Engine - GEAR tab when i want to make use of the Sonar App (both in GG) or does it need to be set to a flat equalizer?
2. does anybody know a very good Sonar Preset? The Warzone / Dota 2 Preset are ok, but maybe something better exists
3. which audio option do I chose in game? Boost, Boost low/high, hometheatre, etc..

Welllll, my eq amplifies bass and specific treble frequencies so I can't guarantee it'll be good for amplification of specific things like footsteps, but if you want to use something you can look at the guides by pressing this button (screenshot) and adjust it to conform to your liking if a game you play is in that list. (do note, you'll see two footsteps categories in the FPS Foosteps guide, the second one is most likely an overtone and can be ignored mostly)

Thanks for sending the specifics. Honeslty my headphones mic quality Is incredibly terrible so I might return them if this preset doesn't work

Hmmm I wish I could answer this better but it's been a while since I've played warzone. As long as you have the Warzone eq guide enabled and the warzone preset selected you should be using the best eq possible, you can turn up the very specific dots in charge of footstep amplification though if you want and stuff, but it should mostly be good.
As of for the EQ in the Engine page, I believe the EQ there is disabled when using sonar but you should have it set to flat if it's not disabled.
In warzone's audio settings I'd suggest either boost or whatever the default selection is because eq will be handled by sonar instead of just warzone, so you won't need to worry about those options

Your welcome! Feel free to adjust it to whatever you’d like. It’s really just a smiley with all the high end dropped down a bit to prevent ear piercing overtones which I experienced in some songs, but some users like that high end to be raised a little more, it’s all preference

@high summit you can try this for rock and metal. It has a lot of bass and the high end is also there. Up to you some users may not like how much bass there is though, so you can adjust it however you’d like

Sonar is awful. Turn it off. Set default sound device as Arctis Nova Pro. Turn on Dolby Atmos for headphone spatial sound. Use smiley preset, alter it slightly to taste. Never use sonar again. You're welcome.

The fact that they locked chat mix behind that awful excuse of software is sadddd. I knew it was bad from trying to play around with it when I was using my Pro wireless, but I thought maybe they'd updated it since they were pushing it with this new headset. Nah, still garbage. Chat mix has the ability to work fine without it, they force you to use it by blocking the setting on the gamedaq. Awful.

I've been able to fully convert from Equaliser APO & PEACE Addon to Steelseries Sonar thanks to the features of the Equaliser (mainly the gain, quality, frequency settings)

I never liked that I had to reinstall the EQ APO drivers each time following a Windows Update - now I don't have to 👌

Has anyone used Sonar and felt it sounds terrible? Some things sound great but then for e.g. when you get shot by an enemy there is no sound whatsoever and is hugely off putting. Some sounds are too loud as well and drown out some more important sounds? I've tried but can't seem to get the audio right on Sonar so had to stick with the Standard Engine EQ with GameDAC

Is it just me or does Sonar not play nice with voicemeeter? My Arctis Pro's were fine but these Nova Pro's have to use Sonar for chatmix it seems, and Sonar insists on being the default device. I route all my sound through voicemeeter on my PC.

There is a button to turn off sonar in the settings in the category "General". The button should be under a section in "General" called "GG services".

I'm looking for the same thing. Used hours upon hours yesterday trying to finetune it, but the sounds gets mixed up. People shooting right next to me sound further away than people who are actually in the distance.
