Dolby Atmos with Headphones is more ideal for users who just want to plug and play, not tinker with settings. Also for anyone who uses a cheaper headset. That being said, Sonar spatial audio is definitely worse. Took me a while to make it lose that hollow sound

my EQ profile to go towards a semi-Harman neutral for the Arctis Pro. cleans up the treble a good bit, reduces a lot of harshness and shoutiness in the upper midrange area, and controls the bass heavily to reduce the boomies. @ or reply to me if you want the values

I personally have the treble slider down by -1.6dB but that's to taste. i like the retuning of the treble do i don't wanna touch it, luckily the external slider is really nifty c: absolutely feel free to adjust the low shelf to taste as well, i have it tuned to a couple dB above 'neutral', and it may look like a bass roll off but it's as linear as i can get it!

Something ive thought is funny and pretty stupid is that when we share our presets we forget something very important therefore Auto EQ fixes that problem.

So what is Auto EQ?
Auto EQ is a library of EQs for thousands of headphones and iems.

How do u use it.

Search Auto EQ and press the github link and first go too results then ctrl F and search your headphone it should be there. press the link for ur headphone and scroll down too where there says parametric EQ and try and put that in. sadly u cant change ur q values under 0.5 so it wont be as good as it could be but should be later.

i have the nova pro wired and they are decent. what i would say is that warzone audio changes with every update and there is a lot that is good and then awful. unfortunately right now after the last update the audio is crap again and hard to hear footsteps unless your not moving (even my teammates with other high end headsets agree). i use the sonar and use warzone. its been said to try different preset games in the drop down to figure out which is best. i hadn't changed any eq as i play on flat and just use the sonar to adjust. my teammates say the clarity in mic when used is noticeably better than when not using it.

For anyone new or who has been using Sonar.

Sonar is a Virtual Pass through driven equalizer for PC only. Meaning it loads the driver for your headset and then allows you to modify the sound output to it per being connected to the device that has been set for it in your Operating System to use.

It does NOT upload configs to your headset. This means they are not portable to other gaming platforms.

As I understand it, if you want an equalized configuration for Arctis Series headsets that IS portable to Xbox, PS5, or Switch, you can use the "GG Engine->Gear-> [Headset listed]", which will save/upload the configuration to your headset for use with another compatible platform.

Arctis Nova Wired (and probably works well for wireless too) EQ for anyone to use lol. Not game specific, in fact this is just general eq. You can adjust this to whatever you'd like, BUT do note before you try it out, it's a bit on the bassy side sooooo, yea. I just like it like that sorry lol but you can tone the base down if you want.
Listing order will be first number is Gain, second number is Frequency, third is Q.

After using the Arctis Wireless Pro since it released, and now moving to the Nova Pro Wireless..... I almost feel overwhelmed by the amount of options that Sonar gives me. I haven't yet come across an EQ that I'm happy with in anything other than general viewing, i.e. YouTube. All my games don't sound quite as I'd like them..... I'm certain there is a great headset here…. I just haven't quite found it yet & it frustrates me slightly that I have to deal with software to do so with such incredible detail.

That is on the PC of course, on PS5, I've found the preset "Smiley" pretty good all round, maybe with a slight tweak. I've attempted a similar EQ on sonar for PC, but its just not happening.

Could of course just disable it and go back to the tried and trusted "Dolby Atmos or DTS Unbound" options.......but that just wouldn't be fun would it??!!

if you want to test your mic after using sonar, do NOT use the built in mic test in sonar as the quality is bad. either use discord mic test, OBS, or various websites that do microphone tests to check how clear you sound.

Hi! I have a question and I would really appreciate it, if someone answers it. So I bought the steelseries nova pro wireless yesterday and I have soe minor difficulties, when it comes to the software.

I can't really change what is at the EQ bc the Sonar is connected. That problem does not appear when I only got my sound station with USB-A to USB-C, to my Pc connected and my headset, just via bluetooth. The thing is when doing it like that, I won't be able to save it to my headset...the settings I put.

So how do I make the Sonar turned off?

I’m using @night stratus’s tune (look up his wired nova pro review and tune), raised the Bass Slider by 2DB and I use Sonar’s spatial audio for now. In game I use boost low. You can play with that and midnight mode as a start and see what ends up sounding better for you

Well, my new microphone remains to be tested - I was using a cheap webcam mic previously. I'm just trying to get my headset mic set up in advance now that the headset (7p+) has arrived

so the problem was mostly that his voice was activating the mic and confusing raid calls

That’s easily fixed through the communication app that you are using or game, simply lower the activation level

If you're using a headset mic I'd recommend setting a custom EQ for it first. This works pretty well for cutting out the slight hiss that SteelSeries wireless mics tend to have. Although for a female voice I'd probably reduce the low end and raise the midrange for better vocal clarity.

For actually cutting background noise, set a noise gate that activates at your normal speech volume and doesn't cut out your words if you pause to take a breath (the auto-noise gate feature can work depending on the environment). For cutting out your BF's voice play around with the background noise reduction. .25-.3 is pretty good for cutting out A/C noise. Something like .5-1 should be enough to cut out another voice in the room depending on how loud he talks without making your voice sound too terribly processed

Hello. I haven't done full analysis on Warzone footstep to be sure. I'm waiting for Warzone 2 before I make the effort. Warzone is built on the Atmos audio engine, so processing the audio via the Atmos app when you can definitely makes sense. Just no idea on those FR settings though. I would try @night stratus EQ as a good overall baseline and tweak as needed. In game, home theater or headphones/headphones bass boost seems to be what most people are using.

Short answer - if the match is crazy and there's a lot of explosions, kill streaks, gun fire in the distance, then Home Theater preset is better for close footsteps

FOR THOSE THAT HAVE SONAR: There’s a MW2 sonar preset if you haven’t tried that already, but besides that below is a couple of videos with some great baselines to try out and tweak to your liking.

Been working to adjust sonar EQ for Warzone 2.0, found a couple configs here and on YT. When I set the points according to what I am seeing I do not achieve the same curve as what I am trying to match. Hi everyone - this is my general use EQ for the Arctis Nova 7. This is a slightly different verison than I had for the Arctis 7+ but should work great for those too.
I'm too lazy to switch over configs so I use this for everything and I find it works great. Great starting point for the Arctis either way.

A bit late to chime in on this, whenever you change your audio preferences in Windows settings with Siege open at the same time, you'll need to restart the game (just a Siege issue). Also make sure your output device is set to auto configure from the GG app.

I personally find that the FPS Footsteps setting works pretty well on Siege too

I watched a tutorial on how to setup the EQ for MW2 footsteps, but what about these options below the EQ? Anybody have any suggestions for MW2? (I have Arctis 3 headphones I believe, so not sure if these even matter for my headphones but still wanted to check in here)

I would try it with spatial audio off, depending on the headset you may like it better but you can try both and see for your self

Depends on your setup. I use the 'balanced' settings with a noise gate set at -45db. Mic is a Samson Q2U through a Behringer UMC203HD interface.

I really recommend using these EQ settings if you have SteelSeries Nova Pro.

Just a quick update to this if it proves helpful to you. I run artics nova pro wireless and I found spacial audio turned on with 1 bar off maximum performance is outstanding. Directional audio seems to be very good. I tried with. It’s spacial audio on and off.

@terse lava I don't know what microphone you have but here's a good one that gets rid of a lot of microphone's hissy tone generally found on gaming headphone's microphones. if you have nova's you can set the ai cancellation to that value too if you want
Only thing you don't see is I have smart voice enabled and at 0.70

And below I'll put the eq I use with my good microphone which yes actually does vary because with good big microphones (dynamic, condensers, etc) generally don't suffer from this tinny, hissy tonality gaming microphones tend to suffer from so the treble can be upped along with sibilance control working a lot better. For this I have smart voice set to 0.30 and enabled.

Bass can also freely be adjusted to whatever you or anyone wants. I'd keep 31hz down a little though to prevent thumpy noises that upping 31hz makes prevalent

windows didn't properly copy what I was gonna send lol. #1051124213936828566 I'll ping you in there with the tangent I went on where the db files are that technically host your config files. I cannot guarentee though they will work for other users, or what'll even happen if you try keeping them as a config backup. Sadly for now you cannot actually export config files (I mean well tbh there aren't even actually "config files" as they are all stored in one file db files called "database.db".)
