I just found a youtube video for the headset

And this woman says to pair your thing with the headset, you just power on the headset, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and then you simply press the Bluetooth button

And you don't hold it down

That alone should put it to pairing mode apparently

Perhaps try to remove the headset from Bluetooth devices on your windows device

Settings > Bluetooth and then find Siberia 840 and unpair it from your pc

And then try to pair again after that

So my headset works perfectly fine with everything... however whenever I launch modded Minecraft through over wolf, I can see that it is playing sound in my mixer, but I can't hear anything. its to do with your sound so the lower the frequency makes the lower tone sounds louder/quite depending whether u put the toggle up or down

same goes with high frequency. higher frequency=higher pitch tones

left is low right is high

My gf is trying to setup her new Arctis 7X+ on her PC. We've got everything setup, and GG and Sonar installed and configured. The chatmix feature is working properly if we drag the slider in the app. But the problem is that the chatmix dial on the headset doesn't seem to be doing anything.
We've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the headset.
We've tried exiting and reopening GG.
Again, the chatmix slider in the app does work. If we slide it around, I get louder on one end, and the game gets louder on the other. The issue is that the dial doesn't work on the physical headset.
Is there something I need to do to get it working?

Yes very. It started out as the headset not being detected in GG/Engine, but working perfectly with Windows. Now Windows still detects it but can't hear audio from the headset even when paired (no icon showing the pair now though). If there is a way to restore or reset that DSP, I'd love to know. Been searching for a bootloader method.

Seems search doesn't work atm. Anybody got a fix for high CPU usage (Windows Audio, SteelSeries GG) on Windows 11? When I install SteelSeries GG and set up the virtual devices for the Nova Pro Wireless, all is well until I reboot. Thereafter, the audio engine is consistently using about 20% CPU on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900, the OS and applications are somewhat unresponsive, probably due to scheduling issues in the OS, and I get weird flickers in windows explorer. When I uninstall SteelSeries GG, everything goes back to normal.

I reinstalled it twice, disable every service possible not related to SS GG. Restarted and reinstalled and it loaded once installed but then it doesn't load anymore, running it as admin does nothin either

You can uninstall skype if you don't use it by going into settings, apps -> apps & features -> and uninstall it from the list of apps. dax api is apparently associated with Dolby Atmos so you can uninstall that if you don't use that or delete the exe or disable the service associated with it. Other than that it could be a windows issue which you could maybe fix by searching "command prompt", press run as administrator, and do sfc /scannow and it'll do a system file check to make sure windows doesn't have corrupted files sometimes that does well

Hmmmm, if you want i could link you to an app called process monitor to see what processes are doing what on your computer and kinda scope things out yourself, but that'd be up to you. You can also try disabling sonar and doing things as normal for a bit to see if it all settles down, or just in general letting things sit other than these though that's kinda strange and I have no other recommendations as I'm stumped

hi, i'm looking to see if anyone has the same issue as me/has a solution for me. so with my apex 7, i have a "default" config that is just standard use, and several configs for different games and such that autolaunch when said game is launched. whenever i set my default config active and then launch a game, the program SAYS it's got the game config active but the OLED screen doesn't indicate the swap, the keyboard just blinks rapidly as though it has swapped. however, my custom keybinds for these games do not work. for example, i have it set to toggle a left shift hold for ESO but it only works if i set the ESO profile to my default in SSengine. anyone else had this type of issue, and have some kind of fix aside from "manually swapping configs every time i launch a game"? that's super tedious and i'd rather not do that. thanks in advance :) (and sorry if this doesn't make a ton of sense, i tried to explain it the best i can)

i bought 3 arctis nova pro wireless headsets (due to my first pair being a bit wonky)
and found out that some headsets sound better than other, and some headsets just wont update

My third pair would not change status to connected

even tho it was wired into the same port(s) as the 2 prior headsets (which did update perfectly fine)

Anyhow, my fix was:

go to power options

you go back a step once you clicked there, basically go back to "Power Options"

go to the highlighted spot above

and then

if this setting highlighted is on, you turn it off and SHUT DOWN your PC (not restart) after shutting down you turn it back on and basically try to pair again

to make sure any stuck electricity is emptied out

i know i sound stupid, but perhaps something irrelevant ends up fixing it and then we can forget about our stupid approach to fixing it

and the second time you try to make it a 1-2 button press, so not exactly at the same time

but more microdelayed if that makes sense

@safe olive@mystic blade it was a couple issues but primarily one to do with playing music and playing a game at the same time. whenever id do so and pause the music, it would cancel all other sounds within my computer until i uncaused the music. there was also about a 200ish ms delay along with a pairing problem. All of them were just a simple fix

Hello, i have an issue with the arctis pro wireless. Its connected to both bluetooth and the dac wirelessly, the problem is that the audio from my pc that is connected via bluetooth always goes up and down whenever i play something, is it possible to fix that issue.

I have the Arctis 7P+ which I use for gaming and taking calls. I have an issue where they beep and disconnect from the receiver if there is no audio playing. This doesn't happen on my Gaming PC, but it does happen on my Dell XPS laptop. The only way to keep them connected is if I am constantly playing audio. There isn't really a specific timeframe when they disconnect, it's random. Checked the GG application and they set to never switch off. Anyone else had anything similar?

Does anyone have the similar problem on your GameDAC (of the new nova wired headset), where you can't switch between the chatmix and volume feature? I press the knob and it stays on volume mode, while I want to change my chatmix. Having tried to turn it off by unplugging and replugging, the issue still persists. If I wait a day or 2 it suddenly allows me to switch again. I'd like to know if somebody has an issue similar to this, thanks.

wired arctis 1 doesn't have sidetone so if you hear yourself it's either some other app on your PC that's playing back audio, or there's some wires crossed in your headset that's causing interference

Go into SteelSeries GG -> Settings (in GG) -> General, then disable the top toggle talking about sonar (if you don't use it).
If you do use sonar, then you'll want the sonar output to be selected

xbox/microsoft requires that any device connected over USB have a special security chip inside to work properly. right now the SS devices that have this chip are all wireless headsets (A1WX, 7X, 9X, Nova Xbox). The Arctis 5 doesn't have this chip so you'll be stuck with just connecting it via 3.5mm to the controller

Trying to get my headset (Arctic Nova Pro wirreless) to work with Streamlabs but it just wont work.

There are so many different versions and i just dont know what to pic. The issue is that it MAY work one time but the time after i need to swop since it stoped working. Not sure its Sonar that messes things up or not. F.ex. 15 min ago i worked with both mic and computer input, but no i dont get any response from the mic in Streamlabs

Hi guys I have a problem I've been stuck for weeks now looking all over for a solution.
I own a steelseries apex 3 keyboard and some of the keys just stopped working (some work some don't) I really can't tell you why is this happening my best guess is that the steelseries engine pushed a firmware update and my computer just shut off in middle of it.
Now after a bit of headache I have the firmware file but I'm unable to flash it onto the keyboard since I can't get it to DFU mode.
I have looked on factory reset on the steelseries website and followed their instructions to try and reset it or even do something and nothing worked just stayed the same.
I have tried several other methods to make my keyboard go into DFU mode by pressing certain keys and couldn't get it working no matter what.
I'm wondering if it is possible to use QMK to overwrite the firmware on the apex 3 with the old firmware of it (I'm new to QMK and as much as I know I need to get the keyboard to DFU mode in order to flash it) so please if you have any ideas to help me it will be wonders for me.

And I know it might not have PCB that runs QMK, if u have any idea on what it runs do tell me please. (I'm afraid atm to open it and look at the PCB since some of it still works and I don't want to mess anything up without checking with you guys for an alternative way)

By the way I have tested it with a bunch of other devices and tried to install there the engine and everything.

Hello, I am currently experiencing a weird problem with my Arctis 5 wired headphones. For some reason it is saying reconnect headset, I have unplugged and plugged in each part of the headset and restarted my pc and it is still not working

I've heard snagging old engine versions from google does the trick most of the time but I cannot confirm or deny it nor can I verify whether or not an older version of SteelSeries Engine is legit if it's coming from a 3rd party website, but you can try it if you'd like

Try removing the non working keys and clean the board under them. Had a similar issue. This fixed it for me.

If it still persists are you able to use it with another device to see if it still happens with that device? worse comes to worse it's still covered under warranty becasue as you mentioned, it hasn't been a year yet (or 2 years for the eu).

Well first of all, unless your region/country has a very specific exemption, the warranty lasts a year (2 years for countries in the EU), just to mention. but, do you use the dac or transmitter at all? which one do you even have, the Pro wireless, wired, and if wired did you get it with a GameDAC

nah, the codes are not correct as i can see ncsoft accepts 13 or 20 digit codes, the ones provided are 25 digit

That is only a feature provided by the maker of your product, whether it's steelseries with steelseries products or someone like HyperX or Razer. If you have steelseries headphones you'll find that in engine. Otherwise it's hard to implement software level sidetone as there will be delay.

Oh yea for the nova's you go into engine to enable that stuff. Sonar is software level eq and things like that, I have nova's and still use sonar but engine will have a decent bit of other things

Hi Jordan, it's possible your default audio devices aren't set to sonar. Use steelseries.gg, in the sonar tab and it should give you a prompt to set it as default. Then, set your headset in the mixer tab of sonar of the tool above

I'm actually having a mild problem. I'm hoping to increase the volume of my sidetone; it's already set on high. I have an Arctis nova pro wired. Drivers are up to date, so is firmware.

I used to have a pair of steelseries whose sidetone was high enough, but this model's sidetone is a bit too low.

go into Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound
Then try to speak in the microphone, making sure it's unmuted, and check if it's being outputted to any of the devices under the "Recording" tab of the sound settings. It should look something like what i sent but ofc the names of things completely different.

Currently using Arctis Pro headset - just recently the audio is cutting out for around 10-15 seconds and usually comes back, however recently it doesn't come back & the headset is shown as "Not connected" in the app - following the FAQ doesn't seem to help and the issue still persists. Sometimes the headset isn't even shown in the Device manager to uninstall the drivers

Contact steelseries support through a ticket and request a return for your money and buy the same keyboard with that returned money or you can get a higher up keyboard, or a keyboard from a different company. I mean all this aside basically contact steelseries support and talk with them about it if the scroll wheel has issues and mention you’ve tried everything. You can factory reset the keyboard under settings if you can get there, but if you can’t then you’d be out of luck and relying on steelseries tickets here sadly (oh also mention how you got it less than a month ago)

Though those steps above (control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound, then under recording), note what audio device is making noise when you blow into the microphone, if any audio device is, right click on it and make sure that audio device is set to the default device and communication device. If that doesn’t work then go into discord’s user settings -> voice and video, and make sure for input, that audio device in specific is selected.

Oh so this is not just an issue with your microphone- make sure for playback you test things out in there too and assign whatever game and discord audio plays through as the default device and default communication device

And as a followup to that; make sure you go to properties of the device and into advanced and make sure "give exclude access.." is unticked. Otherwise your different apps will basically fight for priority and will give issues

Hello, having issues with my Arctis 9, its at full charge (I even removed the battery and volt checked it) and when I try turning it on it flashes red for a sec after holding for 5 sec. I came back an hour later and sonar is still stuck on starting on a fresh install of GG. Never used sonar before. I have my headphones plugged in as well and audio enhancements disabled.... I don't know what to do. I have no idea what is causing this and I've tried reinstalling GG. I don't have spatial audio enabled from dts or dolby, and I have tried disabling and reenabling sonar in settings only to get to the setup wizard and seeing that it isn't picking up any of my audio devices. Any help here? I am running Win 11 btw.

My lenovo legion 5 has steelseries nahimic audio as a driver and I also uninstalled the companion app for that as well as the nahimic software and driver as well

"C:\ProgramData\SteelSeries\GG\Logs" this should be a log folder but there may be another one dedicated to sonar, idk you can take a look in here though
