Hello, I have an Arctis Pro Wireless and I haven't heard anything via Bluetooth and DAC radio for about a month. It's quite normal via cable, but as soon as I switch to one of the 2 radio standards, the headset is completely quiet. I am familiar with the device because I have had it for 2 years and I know where to turn the volume up and down. But it just doesn't work over the air anymore. The support doesn't want to help me either... he keeps wanting me to show him the order, but I don't have the e-mail with the order anymore, or I don't know which e-mail it was anymore, so the support doesn't want to help me. I paid 300€ for the headset, and now it costs 350€ it cannot be that it breaks after 2 years shortly after the guarantee.

The software/hardware experience with the GameDac with the Nova Pro is really backwards. Why does GG need to be running in order for chat mix to work, but I can't actually control anything useful from GG itself, I have to use the GameDac hardware dial. These new headsets are great hardware quality but the software experience is awful. Also, why do I need an account to use Sonar? You need my email on top of my purchase??

Just got the Nova Pro Wireless for PC - the audio device in windows 11 is showing up as "headphones", is that the correct setting? I know on my Hyper X Cloud Flight S' I needed to make sure they were set to "Speakers" to get the full stereo sound, but don't see a "speaker" option for the Nova Pro's.

Control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound. Making sure whatever the name of the game output is is selected as “default device” and chat should be “default communication device”. But yea it is very possible that they show up as headphones instead of speakers. I personally don’t own a pair just yet

With sonar’s eq adjuster you can boost the frequencies the footsteps occur on, but other than that there is no one button press feature for this sadly

Those are just what will output game audio and chat audio. You actually configured it right unless it shouldn’t be those. The whole separate game and audio thing in settings is separate.

you mean chatmix in sonar? Nope it's only asking you what speaker you want to use for that specific sound device as those game and chat categories are actual sound outputs (see screenshot). it's not actually setting your real windows sound output, it's only setting internal settings that coordinate with what I included in the screenshot (if this makes sense lmao)

This may also help a little with understanding it. this is what I mean when I say it doesn't actually set any windows settings, it only changes what those chat and game outputs are assigned to

Not sure if its specific to the Nova Pro Wireless but everytime I start/restart my pc my headphones show up in engine as 'not connected' which means the sonar software doesnt work. I have to unplug both usbs from the back and put them back in to let it reset before it shows as connected and resumes working properly, i have to do it every time :c

There are some bugs for sure. There's a chance it's happening because you boot the PC without the headset actually being turned on first

Sonar works with everything

If you have your headset powered off when you boot windows @stable saddle , then it won't be detected, and Sonar will drop the device because it isn't there. So you have to reselect it from the drop down in the sonar device assignment screen

It's supposed to be a physical switch to disconnect the mic lead. Problem is, most analog headsets use a common ground for the mic + speaker drivers

This causes bleed through and muting issues

the Xbox wired headset has the same issue

If you can try another computer somehow it will help to troubleshoot, same with another phone

I'm not sure, but either way it's a combo of that model and your PC's headphone jack that isn't working

Hello everyone, I have a Steelseries Arctis 7+ headset. Yesterday it worked and everything was fine, but I havent been able to turn it on today on the button. It doesn't seem to register at all. It says Reconnect headset in Steelseries GG, but nothing works. I have plug in and out of the PC with both dongle and made headset wired, which I usually use when I need to charge it up. I can see that my PC does find the headset and the sound is playing. Just that the headset wont turn on.

Would anyone be able to tell me the use case for the Line Out feature on the Arctis Pro Wireless system? What I'm trying to do is set it up so that I can use my IEM system/headphones for when I play music and use the Arctis Pro Wireless headphones when I'm gaming. So as it stands right now, the routing goes GoXLR Headphone jack > Line In of Arctis transmitter (Source Aux), Line Out of Arctis transmitter > Line In of IEM transmitter.

I'm able to hear everything normally in the Arctis headphones, but it doesn't seem to pass the audio through to my IEM transmitter which is a Shure PSM300 in case you need that info. I saw in a SteelSeries support post that the headphones need to be powered off in order for the line out to automatically route to another audio device, but that doesn't seem to have helped. Any info would be appreciated!

Under steelseries GG It doesnt work 90% of the time (doesnt detect the device is connected even though the headset and usb device are paired)but sometimes it does work. Pairing and restarting the device doesnt really help it just randomly sometimes works. PC works no problem.

The outputs you see in sonar are different from your windows outputs. Your windows sound settings look right (just to mention) but the ones in sonar are going to be what speaker they output to so in your case game would be arctis 7 game and chat should be arctis 7 chat. Sonar still does it’s processing and it’s still technically outputted through the sonar audio devices like you’d expect, it’s just a matter of where you want to route the audio outputted by those specific sonar “devices”

When sonar was enabled, I had it as 100% performance. I tried 100, 75,70,60, 55,50 so far with the spatial audio. It is strange, I assume 100 is where that would need to be set at?

I have it set all the way to performance (well, when I do enable it). I've noticed when it's there it disables 99% of the additions to the audio it makes like the unnecessary reverb and stuff but I've heard the reverb is there for a reason so I mean idk lol. It depends on if your playing a game or watching a movie apparently. apparently you want it more on the performance side if your gaming but immersion if you are watching a movie

When I turned the sonar back on it is still using the 96kHz/24bit like how you showed me to set it up. So maybe not? Not sure, I am messing around with the different audio files also within the dac. Trying different presets for the time being. Warzone and FPS footsteps sound decent, I'll use the headset for a few days and see how it goes. I am honestly unsure all in all right now. I feel like I hear more of certain things with these but I also feel ive lost some audio quality

The only way to stop it is to actually disable sonar itself. I personally sometimes change things around so I made a shortcut on my desktop of the sound application that you access by going into control panel -> hardware and sound then right click on “sound” and click “create shortcut” but yea with what’s given your only solution is to disable sonar sadly if you don’t want it to set itself as the default device upon each startup

If your using sonar have the sonar game set as the default device and have sonar chat set as the default communication device. Ignore the sonar microphone option by the way it isn’t used but don’t disable it.

If you aren’t using sonar or don’t intend to then go into steelseries’ settings, general, then disable sonar you’ll have problems if you don’t and just select your normal speaker device

As far as I know sonar runs off of the whole steelseries engine so if you alt f4 out of engine or force quit it then sonar will also stop working

Your welcome! Also a quick tip when doing what I put (if using sonar) just have discord set to default for input and output as then it’ll automatically determine to output the right audio through your chat output of sonar

If wireless, when connected to your Xbox, in Xbox mode, press and hold the volume button. You are now in your dac settings

Rotate clockwise to go to Audio Options. Press in once on vol knob

Then rotate clockwise to navigate to GAIN settings. Make sure it's set to high

Once your done setting that, keep navigating to the right in your audio settings and make sure your mic volume is set to 10

Have an Arctis 1 Wireless setup as follows:

WINDOWS SETTINGS

• default audio: Sonar Gaming
• default communications: Sonar Chat
• default mic: Sonar Mic

SONAR SETTINGS

• the Game, Chat and Mic channels are set to be my Arctis Pro + Game Dac

Here is the issue: Whenever I use the audio mix slider and pull it all the way to the left (where I should only here game audio) I here both the game audio and the chat audio.

And, whenever slide the mixer all the way to the right (where I should only here voice chat) the audio fades out completely for both chat and game audio.

Can anyone assist with this weird issue?

The only think i can think of is to basically start from scratch...
Unplug your wireless adapter
Turn off your headset
Uninstall steelseries GG completely.
Go to device manager - delete the driver for Arctis 9
Reboot

Then make sure there's no trace of any of it

But if you do it in this order, while nothing is connected, we're preventing windows from installing a default driver for the arctis 9

Also, you need to reboot before re installing anything

And in this case, i would install GG first before plugging it back in

Let me check one last thing

After you remove the headset transmitter, uninstall GG and the headset DRIVER (don't just remove device, make sure you nuke the driver...
Then, before you reboot...
Hold WIN+R to run command

Type the following in without quotes..

%appdata%

Scroll down to steelseries-gg-client

delete the folder

Then reboot, install SS GG, THEN plug in the transmitter again

If that doesn't solve anything, I'm not sure what else to suggest atm

You can set up moments to clip a user selected .exe . Idk how gta modding works but if it runs from an exe other than the default one you may need to go into your clipping settings and set the recorded exe to the fivem.exe file (or whatever it’ll be called) instead of gtav.exe file (or whatever gta is called)

What's "Sonar" about?

It's been pretty inconvenient with errything so far

There are only a few preset eq settings for specific games

But there are other games I wanna play but no preset for them

IDK anything about Equalizers

The Spatial is pretty neat, but kind of annoying

And it's inconvenient compared to the Engine

I have to manually change my preset

There's not even a neutral immersion preset for my other games

Unlike Engine, Sonar has "Spatial" and it sounds FAR more effective and useful than the 7.1 surround sound did

So I own 2 pairs of the Arctis Pro + Gamedac (one as a backup), and I took it out today to let a friend borrow, and noticed that 1 pair's microphone is significantly quieter than the other. So in short its been over 1 month I've been trying to add the GameSense SDK into my Unity game, I tried everything and every way of support, but SteelSeries Support form is broken/down, so I'm here now, idk what to do, but the SDK does not seem to work at all for Unity and seems to be HELLA outdated plus the fact that it never worked with the Apex Pro (witch I have) I can't even light up the whole keyboard red, I followed the info given to the SPEC and yet nothing works. I need help, or sadly I will just have to not add this SDK into my game, but I really like steelseries, but as a game dev I am now seeing their lack of support for devs and Video or more in detail tutorials for the SDK.
Like just one example of what I mean is after a FRESH install of the SDK off of the Unity Store, it already gave me sooooo many errors from SteelSeries OWN scripts, so idk what to do at this point but have to drop it, Unless I can get someone to help me with this, I've waited 1 month, so im setting a limit to end this never ending struggle, if I can't get this working by the end of the week, then imma just not bother trying and delete the SDK.

According to this website, the keyboard apparently uses Cherry MX Blacks so you could try replacing that specific switch in hopes it'll fix it 👀

I hope your ok with doing it, maybe try factory resetting the headset. you can do that by putting a pin or a paper clip in the little whole in the included image. hold it down, as far as I remember, for at least 5 seconds then turn it back on (after taking the paper clip out), then it SHOULD be factory reset. Or I should mention, you could also check steelseries engine for any weird power saving options you have enabled, disabling them and seeing if that works

As far as I’ve been told all sonar settings and such affect other platforms like Xbox and ps4/ps5 but this could be completely wrong. As of for windows audio enhancements like the built in windows sonic and stuff, keep that off if possible it causes problems with sonar (you can enable spatial audio in sonar itself and stuff, but windows sonic is a nono)

This is mostly where the magic happens. You’ll notice (hopefully) sonar chat is set as the default communication device and sonar game is set as default device. Chatting methods like discord and most in game voice chats route to the default communication device while also transmitting game sound through the default game device

Turning your pc off, turning the headphones off and taking the battery out for at least 10 to 15 seconds, turning the transmitter off (which ofc should automatically be cut power anyways lol), then turning everything back on, putting the battery in and turning the headphones back on. I get this question a lot. personally to maximize compatibility I’d use spatial audio built into sonar but you can probably use either and experiment with it. I’ve heard of some issues arising out of using 7.1 though with sonar like audio in some places being cut out, foot steps being non existent, etc. I’d just experiment with it and see which you prefer and if you experience any problems

I just got the new Arctics Nova Pro Wired headset and DAC and when I plugged it into my PC, Sonar recognized it but Engine did not. Since Engine won't detect it I can't update the DAC which has made it useless since it won't let sound pass through, it just says "Firmware Update Available". I have now tried uninstalling all drivers and software on not only my PC running windows 10 but also my MacBook Air running macOS 12.5 and my MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15. I’ve used different USB cables and ports, I have even done fresh windows install on my PC and the engine software still won't detect my DAC. Nothing I do can get the DAC to say anything other than “Firmware Update Available” Can I reset the DAC somehow? Or is it faulty?

I just bought the Nova and connected to PC (usb), PS5 (usb) and laptop (Bluetooth). The problem is that when the Headset is ON (powered and connected thru 2.4g to DAC, the microphone is off on my laptop via BT. If I turn off the power on headset, the BT kicks in and microphone is suddenly ON and works correctly.

Anybody had such a problem? Or can advise how to fix it? So the mic will work thru BT when headset is powered ON?

and i have a problem with the sound when i turn up or down on the knob on the right side of my headset.

Hmmm so it works with the headphones on but doesn’t with them off? Or the Bluetooth only works when the headset is off?

The BT works for Output and Input when the power is OFF. But BT works for Output only (without Input) whjen the power is ON.

@bright horizon ah okay, I will probably just go with spatial audio as I’ve heard it’s typically better than 7.1 and it provides more direction and stuff and since I play competitive war zone and do tournaments i think I’d go with spatial as can’t really afford to have sonar bugging with the 7.1 and since spatial is typically better I think it’s probably the best bet, I’ve noticed from last headphones 7.1 typically just amplifies bass and makes the game slightly louder

I think the reset is in Engine once it detects the DAC which it won't so I think I might have to return this headeset since it will not work

with the Arctis Pro Wireless BT mic Input was working at the same with being powered on and connected to DAC. So thats weird...

@bright horizon would I be correct in saying that 7.1 comes disabled with the Arctis pro? So I can just set up my sonar now and I’ll be ready to go, the Arctis pro configuration is bugged atm, but since I’m not using 7.1 and can do all my Eq on sonar would I be right in saying I can just setup sonar and even when the patch is finished I won’t need to change any of my configurations as 7.1 is already disabled?

I’m personally unsure as I don’t own the nova’s, I only own the arctis pro + GameDAC and from the gen 1 GameDAC it does let me factory reset but idk about the transmitter, whether it’s gen 1 or 2. You may just need to make a ticket and explain things to them and ask for help

It should automatically be disabled. In fact as far as I know you need an external application to even get official 7.1. Im not sure but yes it should automatically be disabled. Also to mention the whole config bug your probably experiencing where your configs are just refusing to load, that’s a steelseries issue and it’ll be fixed next update

This is so confusing- I would personally just make a ticket and/or factory reset the headphones if your able to but if not I would just make a ticket and see what they say this is really weird, unless re-pairing magically fixes every issue there is. Maybe try re-pairing?

@bright horizon Ah, I’m just using the preset configurations with sonar that steel series made so if I’m not using or going to enable the 7.1 and just use spatial then I don’t think that the config bug affects me atm?

Well, it will probably affect you if you open your headset’s config, but I’m not sure. If you don’t have any problems rn then none should arise anyways anytime soon. Especially if you rely on sonar you should be good

Yep! Windows sonic off, 7.1 if given the option set to off, if that’s what you’d like, and anything else enhancement related

I’m given the option of dts headphone, and dts ultra as well as windows sonic, I presume that even with these options I keep it off in windows

Dts is allowed if it’s through the transmitter/dac and doing whatever it requires if anything. Windows sonic is also allowed if it’s offered. I’m just not sure personally how they interact with sonar but if they don’t cause any problems then you should be all good

Hey! I'm having a few of problems (that I think might be related) with the new Nova Pro Wireless

• Chatmix isn't working using either the dial on the headset or the DAC even though I'm using PC with Sonar running and set up correctly
• There is no toggle to turn Clearcast AI on in the Sonar mic settings
• The volume controls (on headset and DAC) don't change the volume bars in Sonar, but I'm sure the Pro Wireless I had before did

Especially the 2nd problem makes it seem like somehow the DAC and GG aren't working properly together 🤔

Update: Tried on a different PC, and it works fine there (except the volume controls, so I guess the behaviour just changed since the Pro Wireless 🤷 )

control panel -> Hardware and sound -> sound

then right click sonar's game audio output and click properties. go to one of the tabs at the top and make sure enhancements are off and under I think it's the last tab should contain the windows sonic stuff, make sure that's off as well. also while your here make sure overall everything looks good.

Hi Everyone, i hope one of you can help me out. I just unboxed my new Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset and got everything to work. From one Moment to another i don´t hear any Sound on the Headphones. I see the meters move on the control panel but no sound unfortunately. I´m thinking that the Headphone isn´t correctly pared to the station. If i try to pair it again i start the 2,4 pair on the control panel but all happens is that i see "PAIRING" on the display... Do i have to push a button on the Headset to confirm the paring? I already reseted the Panel and tried another PC, nothing worked out 😦

afaik valorant auto clipping is a little buggy at the moment. Your best bet is to wait til the next update and that'll hopefully fix it

long story short, turning the headphone off and pressing the power button after that for a longer time will start paring. So, it works and i have sound again 😄 maybe they should add this part in der user manual 😄
