sonar is actually a virtual audio device to windows. it's impossible to save sonar stuff to the headset and it's impossible for sonar to affect your playstation or xbox side or phone, idk what your using it for.

when that is enabled. it turns off ALL and ANY effects in sonar or that window.

it just runs the headset and factory default and disables all effects 😄

i tested my mic via google voice recorder.

Then, for example, for me , Mic was in use, the graph jumped...
so i went to mic tab:
the Noise Gate is the key setting

i set to that and my own voice ONLY is heard on mic now. No clicks, no other voices around nothing. and my voice still sounds as loud as ever.

So i just bought the nova wireless... Only issue is there seems to be some Electric noise coming from mic, that activates microphone in Discord, COD, etc. Not crazy loud but enough to activate the mic....

So the update actually made it worse... but going through the Software you can adajust the noisegate/background noise threshold on the mic, and its now fixed. Using steelseries GG... which i had no clue about because i havent used steelseries since arctis 7 on ps4 slim.

Howdy all, I've been dealing with this issue for a while. My Arctis 9x has pretty consistent audio stutter when connecting to my PC via the Xbox Wireless dongle. I've already updated firmware, reset the headset, disabled my router entirely, removed other interference, etc. Anyone found a consistent fix for this?

It's a fairly common issue. Aside from trying a different USB port, USB extension cable, or re-pairing, there isn't a lot you can do.

Technically you can disable 2.4 GHz wifi network but that will break other things

So your desired goal is to delete what saved files exactly? basically delete steelseries engine? delete all of your clips? don't delete the clips but delete a game? because the answer will vary. if you delete steelseries engine it shouldn't delete the clips as they are all stored in the general use clips folder located in the directory "C:\Users*computer name*\Videos\Captures" and it shouldn't mess with your clips. In the offhand that you mean delete the clips, well they're all right there in that directory I mentioned right above. if you want to delete the game and it's files, well you should be able to delete the game without it messing with any of your clips. If you want to delete the config that stores all the edited clip data then well I'm sadly unsure of where that in specific is located.

or in the offhand you mean you wanna delete the clips but not delete them from the software, that is sadly impossible. I don't know how steelseries engine determines the clips are from it but it somehow does and it uses that directory above to actually store the clips so duplicates don't exist.

it's possible if you have enough usb's plugged in and they're doing enough stuff, maybe you just cap out on your motherboard's theoretical usb throughput (to be more specific, it is very unlikely but idk)

It's not possible on the Nova. But this is all technically possible. If the headset has onboard memory, you could use a BT app to control the DSP/audio settings. This means the settings stick even on console or PC

Just use either app to write to the same memory chip on the headset

TB does this on the 700 Gen 2 MAX for example, but the customization is a lot more basic than what SS is doing on the Nova

It does seem strange how a VPN would interfere with colors. Regardless however, we could start with there suggestion. We could start by temporarily uninstalling Nord if that's an option. If it does somehow fix it, their is something weird going on and at least you now know what's causing it. If it doesn't fix it contact them further and then feel free to reinstall the VPN.

Alas, its likely NOT the vpn anyway because you can change the colors offline as well, so why would a VPN matter at all? The only other thing that comes to my mind would be completely powering of the headset for a long period of time to completely drain the headset of power, alike you would with a pc essentially resetting it.

Other things you could try:
Did it work with an older GG Engine Version? if So try downgrading versions
Create a new config / complete factory reset all the settings.
If none of the above work it could be a hardware problem. Warranty? <-- Last Option

So I use a Zingyou microphone and after trying sonar for the first time today it ended up completely breaking my Zingyou mic somehow and now I cant get it to work in game or in the windows settings screen or anything the mic is useless now. Disabled sonar and the inputs in the windows settings and still wont fix. Has anyone had this problem before? Recently I have noticed that the microphone on my Arctis 7p+ catches a lot of background noise. I opened up Steelseries Engine and tried changing it in there, but there is no setting to cancel background noise. I have tried adjusting the mic volume both on my ps5 and through steelseries engine, but both of them also lower my voice and the background noise is still audible at the lowest setting. Is there any way I can fix this?

Are you running steelseries engine at startup? as long as you have clipping disabled it's super light weight and is sadly needed for any headset and mouse connected to your computer (and mousepad ofc and stuff). I'd go into task manager, the startup tab at the top. and enable steelseries engine

that's sadly what sonar will do kinda stinks. it automatically configures your sound settings so that chat is communication, game is just system default. sonar mic is default communication and system, and if you had anything else you wanted it set to your outta luck because if you switch it in control panel -> sound, sonar will switch it back to its own audio sources automatically at restart. if you go to what i said, control pane, -> sound, then you can set things to how you'd like though and you can turn off sonar to prevent it from messing things up again. but there's no way to stop it from reconfiguring things without turning it off (from my experience)

Try playing quiet noises and seeing if your mic gets picked up. If it’s quiet quiet maybe your sonar is glitched and using your computer sound as a kind of side input

Honestly pretty much everything. Just pricing alone you can tell the nova pro wireless is more premium. it's very literally over twice the price (nova pro wireless compared to the 7's). but you'll probably see higher audio quality, with a better microphone quality (because apparently it's their "gen 2 clearcast"), a lot more customization and since it mandatorily comes with a dac, you will be blown away (like- literally 💀) by how much clearer every single thing will be from music, to even just gaming in general. the build also seems to be higher quality and it looks a lot more comfortable than the already very comfortable arctis design. you also get a lot better customization for everything and a better sound stage (aka "360 degree audio awareness")

oh correction. not the same dac as the nova pro wired. actually it may not even be considered a dac but it offers still very high audio quality anyways AFAIK

go to the bottom left windows search function and look up "device manager", then you'll want to look for "audio inputs and outputs", double click to expand. right click on the device that your having problems with, in your case it'll be "steelseries sonar - microphone". then click on "enable device" and it should work as normal

Sonar should set the Default Device to Gaming, but it will also set the Default Communication Device to Chat. This is how Chatmix works, and you should also check Discord to see if it's outputting to the right Chat output instead of Gaming.

I have audio through head set but the mic wont work its not muted I have the right input and output microphone and audio settings selected. 1. for the fortnite eq there should be a special eq chart you can switch to that'll say where you'll find what like gunshots, footsteps, etc.
2. those little grabby points are utilized to bend and form the eq in whatever way you want and you can even switch the point's behavior. you can add cutoffs, this and that I'm in school so I can't remember exactly all their possible functions. When adjusting the eq you can raise a point on the footsteps category (or whatever you want) to increase/decrease the volume of footsteps (or, again, whatever you'd like) but bear in mind this is an eq so music on it will sound... odd

Maybe if setting this in the game category to the output will help (again, if it doesn't work already). if it doesn't help also make sure your DAC's settings are all set up right because I'm personally concerned it's reporting it as a "speaker" output instead of an earphone output. could be nothing bad but just make sure of both

I have been using STEELSERIES GG for probably a year, and I have never encountered a problem. Although playing NBA 2k21, the clips I save have terrible FPS. Is there a way on how to fix this?
I think it's because of NBA itself, because it forces the game into the 4k resolution, even though my monitor is 1920x1080. I made it in NVIDIA Control Panel just to see how games look.
When I went into the notepad file of NBA Video Settings, I changed it to 1920x1080 but the game was then running in slow-motion.
PC SPECS: RTX 3060, Ryzen 5 3800x, 16gb ram
EDIT - Here are my Steelseries Clip settings just in case you ask: Duration 30seconds, Quality Very High, Resolution 1440p, 60FPS.

I’d 1000% suggest the wrist rest. It’s hard to type (for me) without one

I don’t actually even think it’s optional to get it without the wrest. It mandatorily comes with the keyboard which is a bonus

Does anyone here have a steelseries arctis nova pro?
If yes, whoever does, can you send me a picture of the earpads please?

I'm asking because I once had a headset that hurt my ears really bad.

Just because the inner part of the headset(literally where your ears are), didn't cover the metal part of the place where the earpads are supposed to be. So my ears were kinda rubbing on that and now I even have a "scar" that still isn't gone.
