So! I have used this headset for nearly two years no problem. On ps4 pro then ps5, iphone.

Over the last month I had this issue where if I had switched from Tv hdmi sound to headset while the ps5 was on I would get sound through the headset but no mic. A restart on the ps5 would soon rectify this.

However this now wont work, also if Bluetooth to iphone I cant use the mic to dictate/ voice control.

I can get the mic to click it by tapping on the mic loudly or making a scratch/ pinch to the end of mic but it wont pick up voice. I have tried powering all devices off and back on in different orders. Randomly picked it up today and it worked fine as if never had a problem. But gone to use it tonight and its not working again.

I did try to do a firmware update yesterday and it said it needed one. It did say it was complete, but still didnt fix issue. Today I tried to re do firmware and on plugging it in it said. Fatal error with update, ticket sent. But now it wont prompt me or let me try to re install. It kind of shows the headset as up to date.!!!

Got an issue driving me mad with the Arctis 7. Just upgraded mobo and CPU to Z690 / i9 12900k
Installed a new instance of windows on a new drive, and on this new drive the Arctis 7 chat audio channel doesn't work, only game audio channel. Still works when I load up the old windows installation.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. What else can i do to troubleshoot?

Hello, Just got a new steelseries microphone - Arctis 9X wireless (first SS product, so downloaded GG as well). After some research I realized I was having issues connecting the mic and headphones due to not having sonar enabled. I followed the instructions on SS's website. So, I restarted GG after enabling beta opt-ins under "settlings -> general" and the option to access sonar has still not populated on the left side of the GG launcher. I cannot use the product until I join sonar, but it's not showing up. Advice?

Hello! I have no idea how to phrase this to google it so help with that or help with the issue itself would be most welcome.
I have an Arctis 7 that I have tweaked the equalizer and done other tweaks (like enabling 7.1 surround).

Each time I boot up my computer and I suspect turning off and on the headset, the headset doesn't connect automatically to SS engine and I have to manually go into the SSGG, click on engine and wait till it connects and then my sound is good again.
It's not a big deal but when you've done it for the thousand time, and forgotten for the other thousand time, one would like a solution to this. Any ideas on how to fix or how to phrase this question to search further?

Im not sure if its the right place to post it, but has anyone else had problems with the male USB-A to femals USB-C cable that you plug the wireless adapter into for Arctis 7+ Wireless and other Wireless arctis headsets with? Mine came out of the box consistently disconnecting without being moved at all. While the adapter works perfectly when just plugged directly into an USB-C port on my PC.

There is a feedback setting in the steel series app you can change for this. mine were like that from the box. it drove me CRAZY.

Like i said b4, im no expert. Just helpful. If you dont have the $ to get another keyboard, there is a small possibility that 2 contact points on the keyboard PCB are bridged by water or calcium from the water that was spilled on it. Its a very slim possibility. But ive fixed PCB's on other devices due to this. If you want help trying to determine if you can fix them.... Shoot me a PM.

I recently upgraded to Arctis wireless pro's. Not finding the stock earcups as comfy as my old 5's. So im using the old ones on my new set. Bought some $35 Wicked Cusions. And they are smaller as well. Anyone got suggestions on bigger earcups? Im looking for something in the 55mm (side to side opening) size range. Been scouring the internet. hey guys I’m not sure if you can help me at all with this but uh basically back in 2018 I got my very first arctis 7 and they were great they had the bass that basically kinda vibrated your ear it was very good now after a while that bass was gone and the headset audio was lower and had static so I decided to talk to steel series and got a new arctis 7 and the same issue happened until I got the arctis pro wireless now I bought them expecting better bass than the 7s but they didn’t have that same bass that shook your ear so now I want to understand or my question is how would I be able to get that bass I liked back? Or maybe I just got used to it that I don’t feel that bass anymore? Or maybe it’s my eq settings it really doesn’t have the best bass for me

Edit: it's the same on a clip I took with the shortcut, not just an autoclip. That clip was fine yesterday when I looked at it.

So I got the steelseries gg recently
I was really enjoying the ability to turn down background sound when I'm in VC with friends using the adjuster on the side of the headphone. It made it easy but recently I noticed that it doesn't seem to be working the same anymore? Like when I turn it to be only voices in vc it doesn't turn down youtube or itunes anymore. It seems to still work though becuase if I turn it the other ways vc and my music players will turn down. its like they started registering music and voices in vc under the same thing.

I had the 7 before (2018-2019 version with the old chatmix USB dial.) No you don’t need the sonar application for it. Simply just plug the chat dial into your USB port on your PC and then plug in the cord that connects it to your headphones and you should be good.

Sonar is required for the ChatMix feature to work on the Arctis 7+, but you can disable the software by going into GG settings and clicking the toggle

if it is required can you fix it. the 7 did not require Sonar to do the same thing. how is this a +; Sonar has crashed my game with all audio devices going away and then I have to unplug and replug the adapter in for everything to come back. Please push an update if this is required.

Anyone replaced their battery in a steelseries device yet? I changed mine in the arctis 7 wireless from 2019, I'm not sure if I should let it fully discharge since when I changed the original battery it was more or less at full charge and with the new one I don't see the led in the mic go red when it charges, or the power LED breathe while the cable is plugged in at the headset is on, but I do hear it connect to windows like any other usb device, and I got a prompt about the device being setup

Outside of that charging issue, it works like new, tried to lookup information regarding phones since battery replacement is more common, and read about letting it discharge then plug it in for about 4hours to let it fully charge. Could be I'll have to live with the fact it won't show a charging state on the mic or power LED anymore but still take a charge.

Default discord, default cod default when I start computer and jump channel discord, can talk and hear, start game no game sound. Have updated to sonar have used sonar and got it to work. After using for half a day, 1 of the 4 bars dropped on the GG engine battery indicator, and now it indicates to take a charge on the mic mute LED when off, and breathe effect on the power LED when off. Letting it drain to 0% battery, should charge up to full after. Battery swap successful so far.

My Arctis Pro Wireless doesn't work right lately (by lately I mean the past 7 months but I've been too lazy to look for a fix). The problem is that the output device "Headphones (2- Arctis Pro Wireless Game)" does not work, and I have to instead use "Headphones (2- Arctis Pro Wireless Chat)" as an output device, which hinders the audio quality significantly, and prevents chatmix from functioning. I just got home from work and noticed that my Arctis 7 headset was not connected when I turned it on. Through Steelseries GG I got the message "not connected" under the headset.
I decided to repair it to the wireless dongle that was included and now the headset works EXCEPT, sidetone is completely gone. It doesn't matter if I put the sidetone to off, low, medium or high. No matter what I do, it is completely off. The mic is working, but sidetone is not. I've tried the function in windows that lets you listen to your mic but that is not the same thing. I want the built in sidetone feature that worked 8 hours ago, to work again.

After further testing I managed to get the sidetone to work by repeatadly turning it on and off (like 10 times), however no matter what I do, changing the settings in the application doesn't do anything. Not at all. The live preview is completely irrelevant as well because no matter what I do, when I change stuff in the GG engine, nothing changes.

I have contacted the steelseries support through their website and email but they are not open and I need it to be working in less then 4 hours.

No updates has happened on my system since last time it was working, although I have updated everything since it broke. My system has been restarted and the headset has been re-paired multiple times with no change. This is my second headset this happens with (the exact same model) and I was not given any support the last time. The only reason I keep buying these are because the actual headset is comfy, good wireless with a nice mic and it sounds good.

i need help figuring this out!!! my headset says not connected on SSGG but it works fine on the base its a Arctis Pro Wireless and im trying to get it working for the last 3 months!!

(For anyone that sonar also messed up their headphones)

Go to Control Panel > Device Manager - Uninstall all drivers available for the artics 7, go to View > and toggle on "Hidden options".

After that uninstall the drivers from there too, remove left earcups and gently pin the little hole at the top with nothing with a sharp point.

Then take ur wireless dongle or however ur call it, disconnect it and while holding the button on the sides connect it again and voila, ur headphones should work as new!

Hey, i need some help with setting up my artics pro correctly. The chatmix was working correctly when i just plugged it in, but after the firmware update it doesn't anymore so i am assuming i am doing something wrong? i have the certified wireless selected in discord. and my windows output is the speakers (2 arctis pro wireless) its just connected via usb aswell nothing else

Hello, I need help fixing my headset, so yesterday in the software of steelseries I was supposed to change the settings in my headset. I am currently using the Arctis 5 and for some reason, the right rgb wont light up anymore and I haven't even dropped it a single time yet. I had the same issue. Charge it and then do the wireless pairing. Once you connect them, just unplug the charger. Before you do this, make sure to have as your microphone Artics 7+ or the sonar for both your pc and discord. However, for the damn chat dial thing to actually work, you need to put chat or game in discord and pc output; you can’t have the same settings. GG will tell you to go to default settings but still the chatmix dial won’t work.

If you turn off Sonar, then you can't use the Headphones Chatmix feature. Where is the option to turn off the GG application changing my default Input/Output for windows every time I reset?
This has to be somewhere, it's such a basic thing. Very frustrating, especially since i want other applications to be the windows default and just utilize sonar. No reason for there not to be an option to turn this off in GG.

You have to install the GG application and set your Arctis 7+ as the playback device for GAMING / CHAT / MICROPHONE

You have to run this application and sonar inside it everytime you want to use your headset chatmix feature, it's full locked down to the application.

Game / Chat are just two differnet channels that get fed into the chatmix slider, you can use the virtual output device drivers sonar crates to feed audio directly into whichever channels you want, and then adjust your headphone chatmix dial to change when of those channels are louder vs the other.

Only the newer headsets are being forced to use sonar for chat mixing (so far) the older headsets still have the chatmix built into the headset and don't require a program to run, which is how most headsets are and is much more user friendly.

I had massive issues using GG application to update my Arctis 7 firmware. I'd recommend downloading an older version of the official SteelSeries engine from their website directly.

Unfortunately I don't think the discord rules allow me to share that information (sharing older versions of drivers that can cause hardware issues if used incorrectly) , but you can google it fairly easily.

But you can get the steelseries engine direct from SteelSeries servers that doesn't require you to install GG to update your Arctis 7

That was the only way I could get working firmware onto my Arctis 7 for whatever reason, updating my Arctis 7 through the Engine in the GG application broke the chatmix repeatedly.

If you have a SteelSeries mouse, the prism sync effects start from the mouse and move across to the keyboard, headset, mousepad, etc. If you're left handed and use a mouse with your dominant hand, you click that button so the prism sync effect move from left to right instead of right to left starting with the mouse

EQs are pretty subjective but these threads have some good starting points. There's not really a "right answer" for EQ settings so just try some of these out and decide which one you like best. As for the DTS surround sound, no you don't have to use it and you're probably better off leaving that disabled for FPS games

been getting random crackling every so often (I own a 7, and bought a 7+) thought was just the headphones, so bought the new 7+ still does it, tried turning off the (allow application use priority thing) and now just recently, i was moving around a window in Photoshop, and it crackled kinda bad, and then all sound just cut off, now after replugging in wireless it came back, and i love my steel series headsets, but now I'm considering just going with something else entirely now...I've had mine for years (5+ easy) (and yes i have SONAR running, and YES i have newest update on GG app)

also it seems that the wireless is way weaker with the 7+... i get super bad interference in my house that i wasn't getting with the normal 7...and if i don't have the app on in the BG on desktop, the SONAR fuction won't even work (Chat + Gaming) it just uses one channel
