Yup, first thing of GG install.. disable ALL mod addons for the box.. i had a discord mod, CS:GO and system stats.. constantly froze and locked up with them enabled.

Absolutely abysmal that Steelseries engineers won't get it fixed considering THEY made it that way.. so they can patch it out.

For time being and although its been about a year I have had the Arc Pro I have always kept the addons disabled. Box has never frozen since.

Does anyone have some sort of troubleshooting guide for headset microphones?
I have a Arctis 5, I'm using the headphones every day. The last times I've used the microphone on them was like 2 weeks ago. Wanted to use it yesterday and nothing, no input whatsoever, like it's muted in some settings. And that is no input anywhere, be it Discord, Steelseries Engine or Windows hardware settings.
Did it just give up on me?

it's the engine I just got some too if you task manage the engine closed the headset works fine but poof there goes your directional sound. I'm going to return mine and just trash them on reddit and every other social media I can so nobody else buys them these are garbage

I don't think it's the engine. I've had this headset for about a year and I've had no issues wit the mic up until now. And turning off the engine doesn't change anything on my end.

i found out what was wrong, apparently there was a tiny bit of dust on the contact causing it to not work. cleaned it out with electronics cleaner and it works fine now.

No idea what's going on. I've just switched to my Ubuntu OS and there the mic works just fine. At least according to the OS, can't test it in Discord due to and update issue.

Found the solution to my problem. Some latest idiotic Windows update automatically disabled the permissions to use the mic in general. Had to go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and enable it

idk if ppl experienced this, but I tried this 2nd time and the same problem occurs:
Installed GG for my Rival 100.
Right after install, the clicks on left, middle and right keeps 'skipping' my inputs.
Tested it on mousetester and it just shows that my mouse sometimes ignores my inputs.
Tried restarting pc and put the USB in all different places but the same problem occurs.

update: closed the GG software and my mouse worked after unplugging-plugging it.

Just got the Arctis 7+ headset, is there a way to disable / change the beep that happens when microphone is muted / unmuted via the button? It's quite loud and an annoying pitch as well.

sooo i have the arctis pro wireless headsett but my audio was working 100% perfect before i upgraded to windows 11 a few hours ago... and now my audio is very werid and my surround sound doesnt work either. i tried downloading the software but then it got enen more scuffed.... so i deleted it and... then it came to my mind i can use the little box to resett my headsett and so i went on and i did just do that.... and it became just as worse as it was.. so i fixed my settings again on the box and now my surround sound doesnt work

So I bought the steel series 7+ wireless. I set them up per instructions, and was having serious problems with low volume. I opened a support ticket after following all the troubleshooting steps online reinstalling drivers and whatnot it still didnt fix it.. Support is non existent.

After tinkering with it for a while I closed the ggengine. Then turned my headphones off and back on and they worked, but without the engine so 3d sound was kind of bad. Later the headset developed a wierd white noise in the background. Off and back on again. They worked again. They crashed on me today with a loud static in my ear. Then I came up with a permanent fix.

I returned them to best buy and bought a pair of corsair virtuoso. They worked right out of the box plus they have both Bluetooth and a 2.4 ghz connection. Man these things sound good. This fix works across the board for all steel series products just return them and go with a different brand. If you stop giving them money maybe just maybe they will change their behavior.

I just got the Artis7+ I'm getting weird noise/whitenoise I'm not really sure how to explain it. It's like someone is pressing a walking talky talk button over and over but it's soft how ever loud enough to drive me nuts. It's like some sort of interference if I get up and walk away from my PC it sometimes goes away. I've looked all over online for fixes and tried everything they suggested, and I'm getting super frustrated with it to the point I just wanna return the headset. On my aerox 3, there is a light issue and the bottom most light if I (sometimes it will do this) turn my mouse up-side-down the light flickers to random colours, the left-bottom most light is for some reason blue and it stays there and I dont know how to make it go away, the bottom most like (as mentioned above) will just flicker at random. I have a problem with my SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 headphones and dual audio on Windows 10.
When I join discord call/vc, all my souds go to Chat channel.
For some time I had two workarounds to hotfix the issue:

• disabling-then-enabling Windows Spatial audio seemed to help
• switching selected device from Game to Chat and back to Game
  Unfortunately now they both stopped working.

I have already:

• reinstalled audio drivers, discord, SteelSeries GG app and Engine, updated windows
• set Windows to do nothing when it detects communications
• set Game as default device and Chat as default communications device
• disabled "exclusive control" and spatial sound for both
• set SteelSeries Arctis 7 Certified as audio devices in Discord (setting Game == resigning from dual audio)

Does anyone know what could be the problem here?

I Just got the arctis 7x today from amazon and I have had a few problems. First, the knob on my Apex Pro TKL won't control the volume of the headset. Infact, changing the system volume manually does nothing to the headsets volume at all. Any fixes?

The headset also seems to have a "transparent mode" for lack of a better word; comparable to my airpods pros. It plays my Headset mic input back through the headset speakers which is nice but the volume slider on the side of the headset can turn the "transparent mode" off but in turn reduces my volume the same ammount

and lastly, there is a constant hiss from the headset and im assuming its related to the mic playback. I'm open to any and all solutions!

Most likely a driver update for one of your SteelSeries peripherals. Those are done automatically via Windows Update on Windows 11 instead of updating device drivers individually

I just got a new Arctis 7+ Headset since my Logitech G633 broke. I'm used to using the 7.1 Dolby feature in the Logitech Software and now I've downloaded the Steelseries Sonar app. But when I enable Surround in this app all audio suddenly sounds like it's inside a tin can. I've tried the different predefinde EQ settings in the Sonar window pane, but none of them removes this strange tincan effect.

Hi everyone, I am having a little problem with my Arctis 7X Wireless. So my set up is with the usage of the GOXLR and it works great but I noticed when using the faders with games or music or any type of sound the volume of the sound can jump high or low.

Did the same and also got klower sound. But in the bottom of the screen i found General Gain witch was set to 0db. Played with it an found out that it was playing at its best araound 6-6.5db. Using a headphone amplifier at 1.2 watts. All above 6.5 is just voltage raise and minimum sound benefich, wich is bad for de drivers in the headset, Hope the spelling is not too bad. From sweden 🙂

Not a DAC. DAC is an digital to analog converter. It's used for like cd player in hi-fi equipement. You ned an headphone ampflifier. I use the soundblaster AE-5 in my computer. It has built in amplifier for headphones and it sounds great. Even better now when steelseries startet the Early access team. I joined it and the new software is awesome.

I'm currently thinking about buying a Steelseries arctis 7 (or the 7+ or 9 when the 7 is not available) and I have a few software questions to the headset and hope some of you could help me out.

• Can I use the headset with the 3.5mm cable, even if the battery is empty and will it sound differently when turned off?
• if connected via cable does all features still function on pc (volume adjust, mute, ChatMix, DTS 2.0)
• what features are available without the software. I'm looking forward to use it also for my work laptop and I'm not allowed to install any kind of software there.
• what are the cushions that it comes with. (Airweave, leather, velour)
• Edit: also when someone tested the pro against the 7or 9 would be cool to hear how big of a difference it is in gaming, the pros are out of my budget but maybe you tell me it's worth the extra.

If you don't want to mess around with software then don't get the 7+ because some features (like ChatMix) only work via Sonar and require SteelSeries GG to be running in the background.

I'd recommend the Arctis 9 since that will have the most functionality for you with both the 2.4ghz wireless dongle and Bluetooth if you want to connect them wirelessly to your phone or another PC or something like that. You can use all the SteelSeries wireless headphones with a 3.5mm cable, but you lose both ChatMix (unless you install GG and use Sonar) and mic functionality since the 3.5mm port on the headphones isn't a 4-pole jack.

All SteelSeries headsets come with the Airweave cushions by default. I've been using the Arctis 9 for nearly a year now and they're super comfy. They're obviously heavier than some other headsets because of the battery and wireless system, but it's not a bad kind of heavy if that makes sense. I've worn that headset for 8+ hours a day before and didn't have any problems with ear fatigue or feeling like the headsets was pushing down on my head too much.

You obviously lose some audio fidelity with wireless vs wired and the Pros will objectively sound better because of the better drivers. You pretty much always sacrifice a bit of audio fidelity for the convenience of wireless, but in day to day use it doesn't really matter much.

Unfortunately none of the wireless headsets support mic over a 3.5mm connection. Virtual surround is all handled through the software as well whether you're using the DTS Headphone X V2 or the virtual surround via Sonar on all the wireless or wired USB headsets. The regular 7 lets you use the ChatMix without needing the software for it, but I'd recommend going with the 7+ in that case simply because it's newer, has a bigger battery, quick charge, and USB-C

And yeah the 7+ and 7P+ are essentially the same. The P+ is meant to mainly be used with a PS5 which is why it has the sidetone wheel instead of the ChatMix wheel because the PS5 doesn't support separate game and chat audio sources

When having my audio output device set to Arctis 7 chat then everything is mono without any surround sound for games but sounds normal for music and vcs, but when I have it set to Arctis 7 game then stuff that isn't games sounds weird, as if everything is playing separately in both ears at the same time (such as music)
as if the two different surround speakers (left and right) are playing the same thing at the same time (which may just sound like mono) but it sounds off in a way
Like when there is vocals in a song it feels like there's two people singing in each of my ears at the same time

Hello guys, i have an issue with my GameDAC, is there someone who can help me on that please ?

My gameDAC crash when randomly crash when i start discord or a game, and sometime when i join a voc on discord. It reboot in loop. I have to unplug it and replug it to make it work but when i replug it and mic and sound work great, i saw that i cant use anymore the balance to flip between chat sound and game sound. I saw in audio setting of windows that the "game dac game" desapear and it stay only "game dac chat" instead of both "game dac game" and "game dac chat".

I tried to make a ticket on the website but impossible and as im not English its complicated for me to understand everything...
(someone told me that this problem is known by the dev team and they are working on but im not sure because its been maybe 6 months or more)

Guys, I really really need help.
I have the SteelSeries Arctis 7X Wireless headset. I have an Xbox Series X.
Whenever I pair the headset to my xbox, it doesn't register the microphone... essentially rendering the device useless for multiplayer gaming.

I've tried connecting the headset to other devices (PS5 and PC) and the microphone works fine. I've tried checking the SteelSeries GG application to see if there was a firmware update. Nothing.

I am at a loss, and really upset about this purchase 😭

Hi guys. I have the Arctis Pro wired headset and I have noticed the right ear cup has a crack in it and isnt as rigid as the left hand side ear cup (has a lot more flexibility) this isnt the first arctis pro to do this and was wondering what is the best course of action to fix this

hello i've been having trouble with my arctis 5 headset where when i doing some setting in steelseries gg customizing my headset my headset just won't change(for example i already change my headset rgb color but my headset still won't change color or when i turn off my headset then trying to turn on with 7.1 surround my sound just disapeared) i had this problem cause i turn off my pc via unplugging my electricty cable so my pc force off then when i turn on my pc again this happen any solution to this problem thx (sorry for my bad english)

there are different profiles that devs sometimes make for their games in sonar AC:Valhalla doesnt have a profile yet, so you'll have to tune it yourself

you don't. sonar creates a virtual audio device that has an equalizer attached to it. it is system wide, so its either on or off.

Ive been having a terrible problem with GG on my arctis 5; lately ive noticed the configuration is not working properly as Ive tried tweaking the config.
I'll also note that Ive recently replaced the cable connecting the chatmix and the headset, because I think the old one is broken, making cracking sounds and such.
However after retesting it again for sometime, it turned out okay... I dont know why though

1. The 'off' option on DTS Headphone:X V2 renders all sounds muted, games lag and spotify wont play music and youtube wont play. Its odd because the apps actually notice it.

2. Turning on DTS although enables sounds, the problem is that nothing seems to happen when I try and tweak the options below.

3. when I try to pick another config it reverts back to default or the config i set up before, though nothing seems to have a difference.

4. I tried testing, bringing the equalizer all the way down and mic sidetoning, it seems like nothing is hapening, however...

5. I tried the mic test where I did hear my voice, oddly enough. But still the other config options: Surround profile, bass, equalizer, presets etc is not working.

6. I redownloaded GG, still the same.

7. Also tried checking for any active VPNs... I used once before but its not active rn.

8. Ended Razer and discord from the task manager, nada.

Im honestly confused and at a lost rn because i dont even know whats causing this...

The Moments software is a bit unstable, and not working for me. (Perhaps it's my hardware because it's below recommended.)

It's detecting my game sometimes (CS:GO), but 20 seconds later, it decides to disconnect and not detect my game.
It's also not saving my clips at all, and it's sometimes not making the sound for the clip capture.

it sounds like the Sidetone settings are set high. as this lets you hear the RAW sound from the mic
