so i have the arctis pro wireless, i used to have an option for separate devices to point my audio to chat or game... i updated my headset and now they show up as a single device (speakers) instead of headset (chat) and headset(game)

when i enable sonar devices they are unable to receive any audio.

It's probably been asked already, but this error keeps popping up whenever I click configure on most engine apps. The on/off switch works fine, and the effects show up on both my keyboard and mouse like they should. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled GG, which fixed it temporarily, but it started doing it again by the next day. Does anyone know a fix other than reinstalling? (I'm using an Apex 7 and Rival 5)

Hello, I'e bought my steelseries arctis 7 wireless headphones like couple weeks ago. Recently I've had a problem, that I was charging them like for 2 hours or more, and the Steelseries GG app was showing only bar. It somehow got fixed. After a week, my headphones needed to be recharged once again and I've charged them while using them. They haven't even charged a bar. When the headphones are on while charging, the power button is fading red and when I turn them off and charge the microphone becomes red and nothing happens to the power button [ no color ]. I am trying to charge them almost fourth hour. Do you know what to do?

Hey guys, I just bought a Steelseries Arctis 1 and I wanna use it on my Dell inspiron 14 laptop.
The headset works perfectly fine, but the mic is not working. I've been trying to make it work with 100 different ways for hours and I JUST CANT. Hopefully someone in this server has an idea of whats the problem.

Here are some more details:

  • I have only one 3.5mm cable entry on my laptop, not one for mic and one for headphones like most PCs, but I think it should still work.
  • The headset appears in my outputs, but the mic doesnt appear at all in the input audio entries, idk why. One time I did something and 3 things appeared: steelseries gaming, steelseries chat and steelseries microphone, but now they are gone and it didnt even work when these outputs/inputs appeared.
  • I'm on windows 11 and for some reason I cant find Realtek in my applications.

I play on a mac and i own the aerox 3 wireless and i’m having issues with the macros not working on my mouse. when i add the macro to a specific button on the mouse, the button just works as a button and not as the macro. it’s almost as if the macros not saving. i hope i explained that well.

In the Steelseries engine desktop app, my Arctis 5's always say "Not Connected" after my computer shuts down and back on again (or restarts). It only corrects itself if I unplug them and plug them back in. The firmware says its all up to date and stuff.

No, if you save the changes made through engine they'll be stored locally on the mouse so the same dpi, rgb, etc. settings will work without Engine on the second PC

If you're looking for a mainly PC headset but also one to use on Xbox I'd recommend the 7X instead. It's newer and also has a better USB dongle than the very problematic Microsoft proprietary one with the 9X. That's as long as you don't mind not having Bluetooth on your headset as well since the 7X can only be connected wirelessly through the USB dongle to either PC or Xbox.

Well my Apex 5 is broken and idk how to fix it and no one here probs knows how to either so I will get a new one if I can, if someone does maybe know how to fix it please help since I don't wanna spend 125 dollars again, for no reason my keyboard's lights just stopped working didn't think much of it, the next day it sometimes stopped working but after I unplugged it and plugged it back in it started working, it was annoying and kinda worried me but I didn't know what to do so I just kept playing, the day after that it just didn't respond anymore, only the OLED was on, I couldn't even factory reset since the settings thingy was glitched it let me scroll but I had to scroll 2 times and whenever I try to select something it doesn't let me (and I know that the problem is inside of the keyboard since the USB works and it connects)

Hello all, I am pretty sure this might be a bug, I have an apex 3 and earlier today, the leds would only work if the gg app was running. as soon as the app would close, the lights would shut off. I just got back from class, and not the lights are not on at all. I have uninstalled gg and reinstalled, but I still have the same problem. the keyboard part still functions as normal, and the caps, scroll, and number lock lights all still work as well. any help is much appreciated!

I've just had same problem, after installing SS engine for my Arctis 3 on my laptop (r7 5800hs, 3060) cpu usage suddenly jumped to 80% const and won't drop, and task manager just didn't show any processes that used so much cpu, and as you can guess, whole fix was in uninstalling SS engine. (dropped back to normal 3%) Is there anyone who faced the same? because I see it as major issue that's still not fixed (considering post is 4 month old, and I've had this problem just now)

hey, i've got kind of a weird bug that i've had for a couple years now and it's really starting to bother me. in steelseries gg, on ALL of my mouse configs, i have both dpi settings to 800. but sometimes, whenever i'm playing games, even if i don't touch the dpi button (which i typically have remapped to ESC anyways), it'll just swap to EXTREMELY sensitive, like 2 or 3k dpi. why is that? if anyone has an idea i'm all ears, it's ruining my learning of mkb in fps shooters :( i have the rival 500, fwiw

Hey all, I have a really weird problem with the Arctis 7P+ on my Macbook Pro (2019 model) on BigSur. Interestingly the headset works perfectly fine on both my Windows PC and my work Macbook Pro (2015 model).

I have it connected using the dongle provided, and after 5 seconds the sounds stop. When i change my output device to "Speakers" and back, sound works again for 5 seconds then stops. It's only been doing it since a recent firmware update that i did on one of the other devices. Not too sure where to go from here.

I don't know if this is the right place, but I have the Arctis 7+ and have been having an issue in Apex Legends specifically where audio is just really messed up. Somethings are way too loud while others are way too quiet. The biggest issue is sounds are either played like they're very far away or right next to me, nothing in between, anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it?

Hello Guys,

I have Steelseries Artic pro Wireless and I have a problem on Discord.

Sounds working fine when somebody talking but for example we have a bot for music in our group and after around 30s sound starting fadin till I can not hear anything. When somebody start talkin I can hear again the bot. Everybody else in group can hear bot all the time.

Sometimes I habe this issue with other people I can not hear them unles somebody else start talking.

Hi all, Arctis 9 wireless. In windows, the playback device Arctis 9 Game does not make any sound, even when I do test, it doesn't output anything or says "failed to play test sound". It all worked yesterday, but now after I woke up my PC it didnt. I even let win10 update, did restart, still nothing. I can only use the "Chat" device. The transmitter is solid white. What shall I do?

Yes I did check multiple times the mix potentiometer, thats not the problem 🙂 Well, after finding this article (https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061293571-Issues-on-headsets-with-DTS-support-) I uninstalled GG and it started working. I do have OpenVPN but it's not utilized, and I don't understand how can network/vpn stuff interfere with sound devices, doesn't make sense to me... I'm installing GG back and seeing if it can stay here without further problems...

Hoping someone can help. I can't seem to get anyone to respond to my ticket and whenver I try to select "start return" for my order all it does is send me to the tech support page. So the issue I am having on my Arctics 9 headset is that static is being emitted through my mic. I know this because if I’m using my mic and play back you can hear it, If I’m on calls with people through my computer, they can hear it. If I use the steel series engine and enable the playback so that I can hear myself, I can hear the static. I have played with the sound settings through my desktop and also through the steel series engine and have been unable to get it to resolve. The mic is positioned correctly, I have also tried other USB ports and that does not do anything, have done factory reset and disabled side-tone. Sorry for the long message .. dropped a lot of money and do not know where else to turn

Hi, when you have sidetone enabled and set to low - so you can hear what your mic does, is there only small difference in volume between the static and your voice? Are you using transmitter or bluetooth? Is mic clear and nothing stuck to it like some tape? (when I pinch it between fingers i do hear static because the holes are not supposed to be covered)
If you are in quiet room and you still have lot of static, then i'd guess there's something wrong with the mic or it's circuitry..

Have a Stratus XL that no longer pairs with windows 10 or my galaxy fold 2. It was updated to Firmware 1.69 and worked fine.. I changed the batteries and now it just blinks. Ive tried plugging it in and it works just fine, but it will not pair at all. I hit the pair button it blinks like it wants to start pairing for a second then goes back to all 4 lights blinking. Is there a rollback driver page? Ive scoured for hours and find numerous posts about others having this same issue but never an answer outside of update the driver.

heyo, I just got the arctis 7+, upgraded from the 7's. I can not get the sound mixer to work appropriately. The first day it worked fine once I got sonar turned on, but now I can not get either game nor chat to work, as in the dial does not change the volume for neither game nor chat. Any advice welcome 🦧

Hi guys - I see that the Sonar sound devices is restricted to 8 bit 16000Hz whereas my AV receiver is set at 24bit 96000Hz - Are there plans to expand Sonar to accommodate this?
Edit* Also - The ability to configure the speaker setup is greyed out. I play FLAC lossless music and Sonar is compressing or even eliminating some of the 7.1 channels

You could give them some audio recording of the static that your mic does, so they hear that there's small to no difference in volume of the noise and your voice.. in the ticket that you have open. I recommended you to enable the sidetone so you really hear and could compare the volume. The mic and circuitry always do some noise but it should not be too much. Having e.g. auto gain compensation in your voip software enabled could make the noise more noticeable if it's on aggressive settings..
Maybe calling some of their support numbers and asking if ticket can be escalated due to them not responding for days could be possible - at least that works with big companies that care just a bit.
I didn't order from steelseries directly so i don't know how RMA works with them.
You could try to ask one of the mods how the returns work, why you're having redirect to tshoot page..

Hi, I have an Arctis 9x and im having difficulties with xbox parties and game audio or just audio in general. Ive tried all input and output options but I still have problems with the head set needing to switch between the AG headphones and the regular Stereo. I just want to stick with the stereo but when I set my settings to stereo some games or applications either give terrible quality and no access to the mic or everything stops working entirely.

I have a little problem I won a steelseries helmet thanks to a giveaway organized by gotaga, I received it in a white packaging but without a box just the white packaging with the helmet, the box and the wires but without a manual. 'use so I don't know exactly what it can be like as a helmet. I think it's the arctis pro wireless but no proof since there is no box, in fact I wanted to run the headphones on my computer but when I plug the box into the computer and I go to the box in -> options -> pairing (to connect my headphones to the box) then they tell me to "clik wheel on your headset" so to press the wheel, in fact you can't press the wheel I tried to press the bluetooth button but the same thing does not work. Can you help me? I already tried to look on the steelseries site but it's the same answer they give me. I tried to contact support but I can't open a ticket.
