hey guys i just got a pc but im still using my arctis 9x. i bought the xbox wireless dongle wich works fine because i can connect my controller. but my headset wont communicate with the dongle. ive also tried resetting the headset via reset button. does anybody have some tipps?

I haven’t had this issue with mine. Usually a faint ringing sound is an indication of a signal interference. So either something is not connected correctly or the headsets signal receiver is faulty.

So, on my gamedac, the chatmix doesn't seem to work correctly, it detects the game to be "non game audio" as well.

Basically, if I try putting it to only game audio then everything else, including the game itself, gets turned down.

The other thing to take into consideration is any other signal interfering tech in your room. Such as wireless speakers. Also.. another thing which can cause a ringing sound outside of a signal interference, is your volume. Your PC system volume being too high and your headset volume also being too high, which can cause there to be a frequency imbalance, thus making a subtle or noticeable pitched tone from the headset. It’s worth taking this into consideration as well.

The ringing can happen too wired headphones too. If the Pro’s one pair will have a DAC connected to them to mute/unmute, volume dial and a source transmitter to change where the signal is being sent to if you play from PC to console and vice versa. If it is the Pro’s without the DAC, I would suggest checking your PC system volume and the base headphone volume.

#

If you have any other pairs of headphones, it’s good plug them in to your main audio port and test if you can hear the same ringing sound with a different pair of headphones, just to make sure it’s not the port that is giving you the problem.

Base volume is if you have the DAC. So you can manually adjust your mix sound, without the DAC, it will be a matter of turning down the volume from your PC system audio settings, as you might have some applications exceeding the maximum volume limit, causing the ringing sound.

Oki doki. So Either a few things, adjust your master volume and go into your sound settings go all the way down to advanced, there you will see your output and input sources and the volume. There you can choose to dial your master volume down and also app or system volume. The last things are, 100% making sure that your audio cable is inserted 100% and last to use another pair of headphones to check if it's not the audio port that is faulty.

Baring these things in mind and if nothing seems to be working, it could be a faulty cable, but best to not make that assumption until you have gone through those steps c:

These should remain as default, there is no real reason for you to touch these settings.

I suppose with headphones without software, I guess the base boost could be useful, and other things, but you could end up causing some issues with the sound quality and such. So it's best to remain those settings to there default settings.

Tbh with you. I have never had an issue where the chat mix doesn’t work. I often had my audio set to wireless game, I turn on the chat mix in the steelseries engine, and at my leisure I could decrease the game volume to listen to people more easily as so on.

You will have your headset connect to audio output and from there, assuming you have your chat mix enabled in the engine, you can tweak the volume, and whether you want your headset to decrescendo when people are talking. I can’t talk for the mic setting because I don’t use it. I have an external mic.

#

But I have never known of split audio being caused by changing your sources. Sounds weird. Keep to the Wireless Game source and tweak your settings in the engine for your chat mix.

#

You can also go into your chat mix on the DAC as well and change volume that way if you so choose. Also you can create different profiles based on your personal preferences. So it’s more trial and error and tweaking around with it.

Hi there!

I've recently acquired "Arctis Pro + GameDAC" headset and I'm a bit upset, that the device, when connected, automatically sets and locks my Windows volume bar at 100%.

I like to configure my sound only with a mouse hotkey, but because of the locked system volume, this method doesn't work anymore.

I have an assumption that my problem is not unique. Can you please share a solution if it exists?

hey! i would really like to get some help with a simple thing. Today i got SteelSeries artics 5. I have tried to find the surround sound button thing, but i don't find it, and i can't find something on yt or google either.
And for some reason i needed to fix my mic and sound for 1 hour now o discord, when it says that discord and steelseries is certified. But anyways thats i hope fixed now. The only problem is that when someone join/quit, or when someone is about to stream or close the stream the sound is gone for a second, and comes back again. I don't know what it is, so what i need help with is that weird "gone for a second" thing, and the surround sound 😄

you should probably try reinstalling the software, happened to me before and reinstalling it worked(just run the installer again and go through the process, should open it and then go to settings and make sure open on startup is on since that is what was causing my issues and might be causing yours).

been using my 2019 arctis 7s for like 3 years now. felt like my audio has been off for a few months, but after listening to some good music i finally investigated and determined that the SSE has absolutely 0 control over my 7s. i've tried uninstalling with the default tool and reinstalling, i've used revo uninstaller, and i've done the unplug/delete device manager fix using both uninstall tools. nothing works please help me, i just want that sweet sweet sound quality back.

Soundstages not working
Arctis 7 turns off after 5-10 minutes, despite the auto-turnoff being set to NEVER

for $30 more you can get an Apex Pro and actually adjust the actuation. Each key can have a response time of 0.7ms and an adjustable actuation point from 3.6mm down to as low as 0.4mm. For Example: I have my caps locks set to a high actuation so I dont accidently press it while using WASD. I have the full but they make a Apex ProTKL which is cheaper

Make sure the mic is physically within an inch of your mouth. Make sure the output volume in discord is up, also are you hearing your voice faint or are others? Check the mic levels in GG/engine/Arctis 3

Download the steel series audio software, it'll check for firmware updates, and tell it not to "sleep" after 10 minutes (or whatever it is by default) for whatever reason, I'll be watching a Youtube video and it'll just go to sleep. I turned it to sleep after 120 minutes, haven't had any issues. If this isn't your issue and it's literally disconnecting from the game dac, again, make sure you have steel series installed and check for firmware updates on it.

You can use discord on your phone and connect to it via bluetooth. Keep in mind, when using voice through bluetooth, no voice is transmitted to the PC. Only 1 voice output capabilities, and it is overridden by bluetooth

None of those settings should be causing the ringing, have you tried testing it with 7.1 surround sound on? (7.1 sounds better too). And I would change those EQ balance settings to be on the "immersion" preset, then slightly change them according to your preference one at a time.

Does the issue continue when plugging it into your phone and PC? Basically, is the issue persisting across multiple devices/connections. If it is, you know it's something with the headset or wire. If it doesn't follow you, that points to something buggy with the problem device it is connecting to. Hope this helps point you in the right direction

Normally gun shots are way louder than footsteps. But if you'd like to change to overall sound balance I'd recommend checking if that headset is compatible with the steel series audio engine and adjusting the EQ settings there (starting with the immersion preset). If it's not compatible, there are 3rd party EQ editing applications out there you can also use.

My headset doesn't have as may frequency options as yours, but the point is boosting the lower frequencies slightly higher than the others for good overall audio balance with bass. Boosting frequencies between 2000hz to 4000hz are typically footsteps in most video games. So super competitive gamers may select something like this; However I think the overall audio balance sounds terrible. So basically you need to choose, overall audio balance, or competitive advantage

Okay so the old headset worked great, so the PC's audio drivers shouldn't be the issue (yet still good to check for updates on that from time to time). In which case have you updated the drivers on the headset yet? They typically require that upon first time use as the firmware the headsets are shipped with may sometimes still be bugged, thus the firmware updates on devices.

Button 6, that's an extra button on your mouse correct? Unfortunately, some games will ONLY detect the standard Keyboard and numpad keys. Any extra buttons on a mouse beyond left and right click, along with scroll wheel, will not be detected by certain games. And that is the fault of the game, not the mouse.

Interesting. Definitely doublecheck the firmware on it. If it is up to date, open a ticket with the manufacturer, until then it sounds like you can bind button 6 to the "+" key for example and use that as a work around in the mean time.

The gamedac is plugged into the usb in the Xbox, and the headset is plugged into the gamedac. That’s how the headset gets power. And then the headset is plugged into the Xbox controller with a headphone jack so I can hear all of the game volume which works just fine. I can hear the game volume and I can hear other people in chat

Worrying about batteries is the reason I eventually got a wired "pro" controller. The Razor Wolverine controller. I've had it for over 2 years now, no issues. And don't have to worry about batteries!

I got the pro+game dac. I wanted to test the mic quality vs other headsets I had, and when using voice recorder, or Discord mic check, I CAN NOT HEAR MYSELF. I have done all the trouble shooting on the steelseries support page, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the device/drivers. The mic just sounds like I'm talking into it from 10 feet away.

GG and Engine are the same thing, GG just offers the Moments clipping feature as well, which can be disabled

#

You can however find an older version of the stand alone engine without auto update enabled if you really just don't want to use GG at all

You could use a third party EQ sure, but if you want to use the one officially supported by SteelSeries then you would need to download the official SteelSeries software

Yes. When you download GG and go to Engine it should prompt you to install some additional drivers for the headset which is how to get the Chat output working

I have tried most things what i found from google and support forums, latest try i re-installed my windows just in case.
Those headphones still works with my laptop and i can see those also with engine.

Tried everything, levels, drivers, software, mic position, even a fresh install of Windows, spent hours on forums and speaking to tech support, it's simply just not working, 2 other people in the last day or two have the exact same problem as me with the exact same hardware, it has to be a hardware /batch problem at this point

Hello. I have steelseries rival 3 mouse for some time and sometimes it feels like even if I move my mouse, it's just kinda stuck, like I am not using it on my mouse pad. I have steelseries mouse pad which is completely black. The next thing is if I scrub mouse pad with my finger nail it leaves white trails... then the mouse works perfectly fine. Going further I checked optical sensor and it's super weak. Like in 1$ mouses you literally cant look at this because it's so strong. In this mouse I see only tiny red light. Is there anything I can do with it?

It is wired version and my firmware version is 0.37.0.0. Can someone confirm that this is the latest version?

Also the dim optical light is quite normal in newer mice, it won't affect the functionality

the pointer doesn't move when I move my mouse. Like if I do straight line with my mouse, from left to right, my pointer goes right, stuck for few mm and goes right again. It's super annoying when it comes to playing dynamic fps games

"Not really fixable. The headset has to switch from A2DP to handsfree mode when you turn on mic, that's just how Bluetooth works.

That's why you probably see two Bluetooth devices in sound settings. You could try switching all output to handsfree, not just Discord. But then everything would just sound bad."
