Hey guys , just bought a arctis wireless pro , and i cant find any way to activate surround sound ? I mean , its "on" but theres absolutely no difference with/without it , EQ works , but not surround , tried all i could find on reddit..

i've got an opened ticket for like 1week now without answers , and from what i gathered on reddit , nobody ever found a fix ?

I have the Arctis 9x and I really want to love them, but they consistently shut off. I don't see any new firmware to install. Has anyone had success using the Xbox Wireless adapter on the PC rather than bluetooth to connect the headset that way instead and keeping the headset on longer than 15 minutes? I'm currently testing to see if leaving my Xbox controller plugged into my PC will keep the headset turned on.

I had that issue with my 9x because it was connecting the headset as a communication device. As soon as I switched back to "headset stereo" instead of "headset hands-free.." it switched to surround sound. I know I have a different headset, but maybe something to look at?

That sucks. I've run into that roadblock with SteelSeries email support as well. I'm not sure if there's a learning curve with their support and the current technology or if they're just all so swamped that everything gets lost in translation. I really didn't want to switch back to my astros, the mic sounds like crap, but I'm running out of ways to create my own solutions. So I feel you.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to avoid. There just isn't a market for headsets that will dual connect with PC and Xbox without a mixer.

Edited to add: it also looks like the Pro Wireless only offers game chat if you keep the app on your computer instead of being able to chat through the console. So ehh.

It has to be something with bluetooth on the PC because now that my controller is connected to my PC, it hasn't shut off. But before it was shutting off after 15 minutes whether my Xbox was asleep or not.

It doesn't shut off when I'm listening to my phone, but it does it both with my laptop which has integrated bluetooth and my PC which has a bluetooth adapter.

hmm if you like wireless you better switch to wireless pro then, the DAC is "wifi"

so theres no bluetooth problems

but yeah if it works with something else than your pc , might just be a little problem of detection etc

If it's all audio and not just a headset problem, could just be audio drivers on your computer. Maybe uninstall them and restart your computer? You can also try setting discord up to not use default audio devices and set them as specific devices to see if that helps the cut out. But if your entire input/output breaks when you switch applications, it might just be your computer.

Just as an update on my Arctis 9X, since my Xbox controller has been plugged into my PC (nearly 2 hours), it hasn't shut off and I've have had no audio hiccups while watching videos. I ordered the Xbox Wireless USB adapter as a last ditch effort to remedy this issue. When it arrives later this week, I'll test and update with my findings. If this works, it'll still be cheaper than my only other alternative.

So i had an issue with my wireless pro where the headset wore down and cracked. Support person was helpful but im really disappointed with the fact my warranty is so short. I spent 500 Australian dollars on a product that breaks and i get no discount or replacement. Very poor service on such a good brand. My whole set up is steelseries but ater this im going to look elsewhere. Even a small 5% discount or some sort of action to show steelseries cares about existing customers would have been greatly appreciated.

I'm having an odd experience with GG lately where it doesn't recognize my Arctis Pro as connected on restart. I have to manually unplug the USB cable and re-plug it in for it to recognize it again. Has anybody had or resolved a similar issue?

The only thing I get is blue and white flashing lights on the side when I hold the power and bluetooth buttom at the same time. It wont charge I dont know what to do

I have this same issue on 2 computers now, where SteelSeries GG refuses to install any updates. It notifies me about them but I can't start the install. This has been a problem since GG was released on macOS.

I have steelseries arctis 7 and I faced a weird problem when i got my new laptop "HP Omen 17 2021" today...
When i play any sound, the right ear does not work at all, I did all kind of updates "windows - drivers - steelseries GG" but nothing changed😕, So i tried the headset with my old laptop "Acer Predator 300" the right ear worked fine as usual

Hey guys I have two questions. I have the Arctis 9 headset for a few months now and my mic is sometimes really low volume. I don't know how to set the volume of my mic louder, so any help would be appreciated. Second question is my friend has the same headset and he gets a warning sound when the headset is almost out of battery so he knows when to charge it. I do not get that warning sound so when the battery is empty it will just shut down and I have to charge it. Any help on how to fix these 2 things?

@finite stirrup Fiddle around the device properties of your mic by right clicking your volume icon and either going in "Sounds" > "Recording" , right clicking your mic and going under "Levels", check if it is at 100.
Look around your app input device and input volume too ?

Hello everyone, I've been encountering a problem launching Destiny 2 and having my Arctis 9 headset. As soon as Destiny 2 launches, Output and Input sounds are muted/off, no sound coming out of the headset or going in, even if my system shows there is sound.
My Chatmix is all set properly (chat set as default communication and game as default device).
Videos on YT, discord, and Destiny sound, can't hear a thing. But as soon as I close the game it works again.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ?

Hello, I have a software problem with my mouse usage. my logitech old one I used a "Alt+Tab" function assign in a mouse buttom. I pressed and it's command is " [pressdown]Alt+Tab" but not lift up anything then whenever it switching to app I want to jump I free my finger from buttom to "[liftup]Alt+Tab" but in Steelseries GG macro it is always force everyting to end up with lift up buttom function but I want lift up is action from my finger not a software. Hey guys, I reset windows 10 on my MSI Stealth GS75, it has a steel series RGB keyboard and now on the steelseries engine it shows as not connected. and i cant control the colors of it.

I did install the latest version of everything, uninstalled the device, the driver all that multiple times, multiple reboots and still nothing. It was working just fine before the reset, is there anything else you guys think i could do?

They have bad connection issues, as you know

Went on your website and tried trouble shooting

I have peeled back the ear cushion and reset. Complete reset on Xbox without deleting games and apps, and all sorts of other stuff

My modem is hard wired to my Xbox about 8 ft from me. Xbox is approximately 4 feet from with an external hard drive USB 3.0 . Laptop is about 2 ft from me.

I have had the rig 800 lx, lsx35, and those worked excellent no problem, and had more range & battery life

So for anyone who was following my predicament with my Arctis 9x, I was having issues getting the bluetooth to stay connected to my computer. Stays connected to my phone just fine without dropping over the course of several hours, but will shut off after 15 minutes with both integrated bluetooth and bluetooth dongle. This is extended to about two and a half hours if I move the xbox controller it is paired to off of the xbox and on to the computer, but still shuts off after a couple hours. I bought an Xbox adapter for my PC to see if I could get the same effect, but no success.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be shelving these and going back to my Astros until Steelseries releases a bluetooth firmware correction so they will stop turning off with a bluetooth connection to the computer. Please note, all this was tried after contacting SS support through the ticketing and having them tell me that they had no idea why the headset would shut off intermittently. Good luck, everyone.

You might be able to but it could also use a proprietary mounting system.

You can desolder and replace the switches on the apex 7 at least, as long as you clip the switch legs, it uses a 3 pin PCB.

I am attempting to find the engine as I believe it should be built in to my computer, the laptops keyboard is by SteelSeries, I'm trying to find out if the engine is on my pc in the first place, if not I have already downloaded the Steelseries Engine 3, but have had no luck in figuring out how to get it to connect to my computer and/or have it pop up even that it exists.

When I looked it up if it was possible to change the color of my keyboard and a few other things, it said it was possible for an MSI laptop, I just needed the engine it said, but I have no idea what I'm doing or if it even is compatible for my laptop because I can't find anything on it.

I received my arctis pro wireless today and can't seem to get it to put out any sound. I know all my PC settings are correct but when I try to use the headset it rapidly says it's disconnecting and reconnecting and plays no sound. i discovered a big bug which causes potential battery drain with MSI laptop caused directly by the current GG software. I tested SSE 3.19, and it does not occur with it. any way to keep the SSE3 from updating to GG?

the bug is that the mystic light (cover RGB LED's) blue color stays partially lit with GG, even when set to disable profile. even when the unit is off. I tested and this does not occur with SSE3

been thinking a while about getting the arctis pro+Game DAC to replace my creative Sound Blaster Recon3D omega Wireless setup. the headset suffered a common structural failure. how does the Game DAC compare to the Recon3D USB unit? the Recon3D was fully functional sound card in a external form. it had a quad core processor and all the bells and whistles you would expect from an internal hardware based sound card of the time. so. what about the Game DAC?

I had the same issue with my Arctis 5s and changing the quality fixed it permanently, but when I started using them with my laptop plugged into a USB 3.0 port I was able to have both Game and Chat at their highest quality and they both worked perfectly, but when I tried them in a USB 2.0 port again the chat output went back to being terrible

So at least with my headset, USB 2.0 ports just aren't able to give it enough bandwidth to be able to run both outputs at the same time on their highest quality. The chat would only bug out when playing a game and being in a Discord call at the same time

They probably aren't as durable as regular MX stems, so yes you can remove them for cleaning and whatnot, they just don't recommend it, plus the fact that the keyboard doesn't use standard keycap system so finding any good quality replacements would be difficult

Don't randomly ping mods or staff

You can try plugging the headset in via the 3.5mm adapter just to make sure the headphone themselves work. After that try different USB ports on the PC, reinstall the headset drivers themselves, and factory reset the headset. If none of those things work make a ticket through #official-support for official help

Find the headset listed in device manager, select it, right click, uninstall drivers, unplug the headset, shut down the PC, plug the headset back in, turn the computer on

I'm using the arctis pro wireless on mobile, but when swapping between different apps with sound on, it mutes the volume for less than a second then brings the volume back up again. Is there any way to stop this?

I keep trying to get this steel series GG app to detect my headphones (arctic 5) but it refuses to. I could mess with the setting before the new GG app came out. does anyone have any suggestions?

Dutch layout isn't really any different. Up to you for English or UK english; preference between ansi or iso.
