Hello, I have a Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. I have an issue with Sonar and the Chatmix. The feature seems to constantly stop working, when i unplug the DAC and plug it back in it works for 10s and when i go to a different program it stops working. Any help on how i can fix this issue?

@novel hill unplug the base station from the PC and plug it back in and that should get the ChatMix working. The headsets with hardware dials seem to get busted after every Sonar update so that's the current workaround

Is anyone having problems when trying to log into the GG software? I've just bought an Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and so I created a SteelSeries account yesterday, but when I try to log in to the GG software to use Sonar and other features it keeps saying that my password or username are wrong. I have tried changing my password multiple times, but with no luck. I can however log into my account on the SS website. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software multiple times and checked to make sure that it has permissions on Windows Defender. Please could anyone provide help or confirm if there is a login issue currently? Thanks

i would try uninstalling the drivers and GG software. Once all the GG and steel series stuff is unplugged you can reconnect them and windows should find the driver again

Uhm so sonar has some problems currently and since it has those my headset started to make a crackeling noise when listening to pretty much anything, it seems to be not linked to any frequency, behaves more like the crackling of a vinyl record.

My Nova Pro Wireless won't work with mix settings. I use Sonar, and I put discord on Steelseries Sonar - Chat but when I turn the mixer towards game ( so I should only hear everything that uses Steelseries Sonar - Gaming ) but I still hear discord. I've also tried it through windows sound setting and selecting Steelseries Sonar - Chat there but this didn't work too. Does anyone know what the issue could be? I've got a problem with my Arctis 5 mic - it randomly stops working while using Discord (had no opportunity to use it on other apps or in games) and I have to reconnect to the channel (by disconnecting from the server or joining other channel and back) to fix that. It's obviously problematic and worrying, as it will make playing multiplayer games uncomfortable at the very least. Any solutions for that?

I can't disable Sonar. I go to Settings>GG Services>Sonar and toggle it off (I click "Turn off" when it asks if I'm sure I want to disable Sonar) it shows a loading icon for a bit and then it turns itself on

That’s all the places I would have checked, if your headset has a DAC I would check there as well. For example, on the nova pro wireless the DAC itself has a mic volume which can be controlled from the DAC or GG engine

So this has been driving me crazy. I have an Arctis 7+ Wireless, and after some fiddling with SteelSeriesEngine and Sonar I got the audio to sound the way I like, but when using Zoom specifically, other talkers sound like they're speaking into an auditorium. I hesitate to say echo because that has some connotations when talking about headset problems. I'm not hearing people twice, their voice just has a chambered echoey sound and for the life of me I cannot figure out what is causing it. I've been in Windows settings, zoom settings and SSEngine settings and nothing has resolved it.

All other voice chat applications don't have this issue. Discord sounds as it should. It's literally just Zoom. Anyone else have this issue and have resolved it? It's not detrimental to my work but I'd rather have a clear sound

Press the mute button on the headset. Push it again if it doesn't help. If you're using Sonar, try setting Discord Input it to Sonar Microphone and cycle the mute button again

If all else fails, exit out of discord, close it on the system tray and start the program back up. Past that, your best bet is to contact Discord support

I'm trying to setup Sonar on my new Nova Pro and the software is stuck trying to setup Sonar. I've updated the headset firmware, restarted the computer, killed the process and started again, etc. Every time I try to start Sonar, it just holds at this "starting" screen. What can I do?

Hi, Abit ago i had this issue with my steelseries arctis 7 microphone and i cant really figure out exactly whats causing it.

To my knowledge there is no damage to the microphone area and it hasnt been tampered with.

Randomly a couple months back my microphone got really bad quality and sounded muffled. I will provide 2 clips of what the microphone sounded like previously, and what it sounds like now

I have had my wired steel series Arctis 1 headset for just over a month now, and suddenly my microphone has stopped working for no discernible reason, I have tried every solution I can find on the internet, updating audio drivers, updating steel series engine (even though Arctis 1 does not display in the list of peripherals) I have tried changing the windows sound settings etc, nothing seems to fix the issue, the wired connection to the PC is solid, tried front and back ports. The detachable microphone is connected properly, nothing I have tried has worked. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem or could provide some advice to help me fix my issue? thank you for you time.

I should also mention, I recorded the mic with Audacity and boosted the gain to max, and I can hear my voice very faintly over the sound of a hissing signal.

Plugging the detachable microphone in to my pc works normally, but when plugged into the headset, nothing at an audible volume can be heard at all, (unless boosted with audacity)

Does anyone else experience echo from the headphones to the mic with the Arctis 5?

If so, how have you fixed the issue?

We’re using an 8pin usb to 3.5mm cord (no adapter) and any sounds playing into the headphones are easily picked up on the mic. No bass boost, no enhancements at all.

Even turning on a noise gate and suppressor in OBS doesn’t alleviate the issue (plus it won’t be used solely on OBS, so the noise gate won’t be there all of the time)

Good morning everyone. I have the steel series arctis nova pro wireless and I love the headset but for some reason all my friends tell me I sound very quiet through the mic on PC. I use the same headset on ps5 as well and my mic is fine on there. I went through GG and Windows settings to turn the sensitivity of the mic all the way up and the sensitivity was already set to max. When I do the mic test and even if I yell in the mic it says it only got to 19% volume. Any suggestions how I can fix the issues I'm having with my mic sensitivity on PC? @strong marten Please try unplugging all the connections from the transmitter and removing the batteries from the headset and transmitter for 2+ hours.
Then try connecting everything back up to see if the issue persists.
Now let's try re-pairing the headset.
Please open the base station menu and headset to the re-pair option.
Turn off headset
Hold down power button for 6-7 seconds (you will hear a secondary chime)

there's two different models, the Arctis 9 and the Arctis 9X. The transmitter only works on the Arctis 9 model. The Arctis 9X uses Microsoft's wireless connection method and isn't compatible with other dongles except Xbox dongles.

for those that have arctis prime headphones i got it 2 days ago wasnt that happy cuz of the sound i wanted to have high volume crystal clear 40.000 hz after awhile testing the software steelseries sonar work but in order to touch the locked bar you gotta press tab inside till you can move the disabled bar with the keyboard arrows its like that i dk why, and those settings in the windows in pic 2 look for the speakers and steel series sonar gaming, the sonar gaming is as use as a default device, somehow i managed to get it work like that, in order to change any of the settings in steelseries gg software you gotta disable all your windows sound settings in pic 2 and enable like i said below gl read what they explain in the settings in spatial settings,if you make a change disable again the windows speaker and the steel series sonar - gaming and enable like the second pic for me it work ,when you check a sound play a music and play around the headphone settings and the speaker you will hear the difference i hope it work, for me it work if you need any help in the software or you dont understand how to do things send me a pm ill help.

I have a SS Nova Pro Wireless and ive got a small problem.

The GameDac does not power on/stay powered on when plugging into something that isn't my pc (through google i found out it only works on PC's and on consoles),
it does pass audio through to my speakers with the optical out port, but I do not desire to have the GameDac plugged in into my PC, simply because of this (https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/rco3lk/gaming_tuf_z690_usb_ports_disconnecting/ ) issue that I also am facing on my Asus Z690 Prime motherboard.

I use the optical IN port that comes from my GoXLR so I have absolute 0 usage for the usb option available on the headset...
I also see 0 reason why its not possible since when I unplug and plug my GameDac I can hear my PC audio perfectly fine with no issue for the few seconds it stays on before just working as a passthrough...

Does anyone have any input on what I can do to solve this

Is it normal that I can't really control the volume when my 7P+ is connected via headphone jack? The first 5% of the dial the volume goes from 0 to 100%. But going through the rest of the dial the volume does not change. At the end of the dial the volume goes suddenly down to 50%. That seems not right...

Finding myself unable to update the firmware for my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. The dock told me there was a firmware update available. When I select the device in GG, it gives me a prompt to update the firmware. I click "Update Now," which takes me to the page instructing me to plug in the headset. I do that successfully, then click "Update Firmware," and then the update window just disappears without starting an update. I've tried rebooting and running GG in admin mode with no luck. Any ideas?

I have a small problem with my ChatMix.

I have Arctic Nova pro Wireless XBox ( I use it on PC )

Sometimes the ChatMix works just fine and sometimes not. I have not found the issue why is this happening.

My discord is set on the Chat mode while everything else is set on the Game mode. Yet it’s not working all the time as I expected.

Did you also experienced this issue or do you have an idea how to fix it? Once I replugged the small box ( sorry I forgot it’s name ) and the issue was fixed. But when I shut down my Pc in the evening and turn it on later, I have to do it over and over again.

I don't know how you determine what's worthwhile to you so I can't say. to use an analogy, some cars are 2 wheel drive and only have 2 powered wheels, and some cars are 4WD and all wheels are powered. that doesn't mean that the 2 wheel drive cars are worthless. some of the fastest production cars in the world have only rear wheel drive.

"dual-channel" in this case is just a fancy way of saying "stereo." The A7+ doesn't have two "hardware" audio outputs, just one. the chatmix wheel on the arctis 7+ controls the chatmix slider in Sonar.

Hello. Since I cant find any info about my problem nor reddit/google/support I decided to type here. I have a Arctic Pro Wireless headset it was working completely fine until today I turned on my PC and when the SS GG software turned on the transmitter suddenly turned off and on and off rebooting in a cycle. So I turned the software off, transmitter stayed on and turned on the headset and same thing once it tried to connect to transmitter it turned off and rebooted in cycle. I dont know what could cause the problem because I didnt touch SS software and keep check on updates. And now I have a "Firmware update red banned" in software but I cant update it because of the rebooting cycle of either two explained above. (Things I tried: 1. Reset transmitter 2. Re-paired headset 3. Re-install software 4. tried it on a laptop same config as on PC, nothing worked)

I have a few issues with Arena 7 speakers. When I choose Arena 7 speakers as the output device in Windows sound settings, the volume is good. However, when I use Sonar Game as the output device, the volume is greatly reduced, to the point that it's not worth using. Why is this happening? Is this a known bug?

Also, the audio visualizer lighting on the speakers does not work with Sonar as the device, only when using Arena 7 directly.

Lastly, if I try to use a single colour in the illumination settings, I'm unable to select any colour, it always returns to white.

My brother just bought the arctis 7x+ when he first plugged in the headset and dongle it worked. He used them for like 30 minutes and heard a noise in the headset he then turned headset off and unplugged dongle. Now when he plugs it in and turns headset on nothing happens. Read that the Nova 7's were mean to mute the mic to the PC when taking a phone call, but the discord party could still hear me when I took a call? I used an arctis 7 for 5 years, today I went and bought the arctis nova pro wireless. after installing the device I no longer have two audio channels, and as such the level balance screen for chat to game does nothing. sliders in sonar do nothing either.

@frigid maple double check that you dont have the devices disabled in windows sound menus. if you dont, ttry restarting your computer. if that doesn't work, put in a customer support ticket.

Hello, just bought an Arctis Nova 7. All seems to work fine except chatmix with Discord. All is set up as it should :

• Discord with Steelseries Sonar Chat for output and Steelseries Sonar Microphone for input.
• Windows with Steelseries Sonar Gaming
• Sonar GG with Headset Arctis Nova 7 for Game and Chat (there is no other choice) and Microphone Arctis Nova 7 for Microphone.
  So all seems to be set up right but ALL Sounds from Discord come from "Gaming output" not from "Chat output" so I cant use the Volume balance button to adjust sound between game and chat !
  What's wrong and how to get it work ????

I have my apex pro mini and set the actuation on the program on a laptop, then moved it and plugged it into a Xbox, will it still save?

Easy way to test it just set the actuation point to 0.2 mm, plug it into ur Xbox and if u brush the key and it actuates, it’s probably saved

After that just change to your preferred actuation point
