So from looking into it (because I don’t actually use arctis 3’s), they use an aux cord to connect to your computer which means it uses your computer’s own audio drivers, whether that’s realtek or another company’s drivers. You may need to check something like realtek audio console or the other company’s equivalent to set up some things.

Hello Gamers, So I've had my Arctis 7+ Headset for about 2 days and I've ran into this issue where the power button isn't working at all. I've been trying to charge my headset for about 1-2 hours and it doesn't blink nor flash or do any type of light. On Mac I found Mic was not working on Nvidia because if you press Command + M it turns the Mic off. Command + G to turn it back on. Now my daughter has a pair of Arctis PRO as I thought her cheap headset had packed in 😆 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤘

Not running it overall, but the game sonar channel won't output to the headset. My non-sonar Arctis headset is set as the playback device, but sound won't come through to the headphones. I can use the Sonar virtual device for output, and if I record a video using that, it will play back, but no go on the headphones.

the arctis 3s is an analog headset so you don't need the software to run it. it uses your on board audio chipset to run the headset

I have a set of steel series 7 from a year ago and I feel like the mic is way too sensitive and picks up everything. I do have the app downloaded and I have sonar up but I'm not seeing any clear way to really reduce the mic noise level such as keyboard clicks. I've tried several settings and nothing seems to quite cut it. It appears that clearcast is not available for my model. Just curious if anyone has had any success with this

Only steelseries devices are compatible with engine as it just modifies stuff on their own steelseries firmware. Sonar is universal though 👀

What headset is it exactly? I’d suggest maybe just try leaving it plugged in for a day or two and try again. Unless the headphones have a factory reset button, leaving it like that should let it just fix itself (it may fix itself within an hour or so, it all depends)

Hello, just got the Artis 7+. I am trying to get the game/chat fader working with VoiceMeeter. Currently only the chat sounds are forwarded to the headset but the game sounds are not. Any idea why that might be the case?

yes, without sonar not even the chat is working. and without steelseries gg neither the gaming nor the chat playback devices are showing only artis 7+.
i had game working before then reinstalled it and now chat is working.

On steelseries’ website it states that in order for mixing to work (separated game and chat audio) with the 7+’s you need to use sonar with gg installed. Otherwise it’s to be expected that you’ll only have one merged audio device with sonar disabled or gg uninstalled. You can maybe install gg and set sonar up fully and then set sonar game and sonar chat as your audio devices in voice meeter but then you’ll have to always go into control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound and set all your audio devices up properly every restart because sonar forces prioritization of itself upon every reboot. (so in other words I’d suggest sticking with either just voicemeeter or just sonar)

sonar can't do what I want. Voicemeeter seems to kind of force itself to be used so not sure about having to change devices. maybe that is playing into the problem.

Is the volume on your headphones dialed up all the way? maybe go into realtek audio console (by searching that in your windows search button) and clicking on the port it's plugged into and setting it as "headphones" instead of speakers or line in (if your computer uses realtek)

SteelSeries doesn't offer any kind of repair service. However, if your headset is still within its warranty period (1 year for the US. 2 years for EU and UK) then you can make a ticket through the links in #official-support and request an RMA to get a replacement headset.

If it's out of warranty then you can either try repairing it yourself or find some kind of local tech repair shop in your area.

The problem started when my computer randomly shut down and restarted, when I got to the login screen my SteelSeries apex pro keyboard started ghost typing. I was able to factory reset the keyboard which helped until I got to the GG app to get all my settings back, but when I try setting the key actuation to 1, the ghost typing starts up again. If anyone knows a fix, please let me know.

If you’ve already tried factory resetting with the little pin inside of the earcup, then the only thing you can try is keeping it plugged in for an extended period of time and hoping it’ll start up after a day or two. If it’s within a year (or 2 if your in the EU) of getting the product, then you can make a ticket with steelseries and get a replacement under the warranty

I've had similar issues in the past and if it's Discord that switched devices, you can fix it by going here in your Discord settings and changing the devices back. There are tools underneath to test the input and output so you'll know when they're set correctly.

Found one reddit thread where someone powered off their headset, uninstalled SteelSeries, restarted machine, reinstalled SteelSeries and set SONAR back up that fixed it for him. Didn't for me. I've reached out to SteelSeries support but it's been less than helpful. The reply I received made it clear he hadn't read the entire contents of my email. 🤷‍♂️ Just told me to make sure input/output were correct when I had said as much in the initial email. Hi. Once again my Arctis Pro Wireless headset sound is horrible. It started with the "Chat" output being extremely low (still is) and now everything sounds horrible (sharp sounds on "S" etc., as if the quality is way too low).

I have checked everything. Changed the Format to everything from the lowest setting to the highest, reinstalled drivers, reset headset, tried on a different operating system (Ubuntu, Windows) and now I have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone had any issues with the Nova Pro Wireless with buzzing in the right ear? It happens regardless of whether or not I am using bluetooth, 2.4, ANC, or sidetone. I have found a solution, but it's really not elegant at all. If I plug the audio cable in almost all of the way but not quite fully, it stops the buzzing. Excited to be trying a new Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset, but having immediate issues with it 😦 Anytime a device is using the microphone, there is a very loud repeating click (about one per second). I have tried updating firmware, disabling sonar, using sonar, etc. How can I stop this clicking sound? As it stands right now, the headset is useless for what I bought it for (multiplayer gaming w/Discord.) Thanks for the assist!

Interestingly enough. I tried another user's suggestion to remove the battery. Leave it out for 5 minutes. Unplug the base-station, and plug everything back in. Seems to be working... odd.

I think I had this same issue. Seems fixed for me at the moment. Try removing battery. Disconnecting USB/switching to a different port if you have one, then wait 5-10 minutes and plug everything back in.

I finally got it working. The Sonar worked but that means it will only work on Windows and with Sonar on, which is extremely weird as it worked 100% fine before when I didn't use Sonar 😦

Maybe it could be possible to extract the sonar drivers and use them without the application as I find it highly unnecessary to use when all I want is a functional headset without all the bloatware.

SteelSeries designed the Artics 9 and the Artics 9x together

9x is exclusively for xbox, so it isn't designed for PC or Playstation in mind

so if you spent 150$ on headphones you're kinda stuck with poor audio quality unless you want to spend 200$ on the variants that are normal quality

Or you could spend more money in an xbox mic adapter, which are 40$ anyways so you're basically paying a little short of retail price of the PC version

I just bought and configured an Arctis 7+ headset w/ Sonar. Everything seems to be working correctly with ChatMix and all, but I am having serious crosstalk issues with Escape from Tarkov game sounds being picked up by my mic and broadcast through discord. If I turn down either the hardwear volume wheel or the software volume level, the cross talk goes away. I haven't found any trouble shooting information regarding crosstalk?

The Nova Wireless is just a joke. I've had it for 2 days now and I've packed it together again and I'll send it back on Monday. Selling a headset for 370€ which you have to use with software to use the full scope of the headset only makes sense if the software is also good and works. The chat mix doesn't work all the time and GG says that my headset is not connected. I have had the predecessor for almost 2 years and it always works reliably. I don't have to constantly pay attention to whether Sonar is connected now or whether the headset is also connected to GG so that the chat mix works. I am more than disappointed.

@little bronze all I tried doing is plugging my headset to the dac and then the dac into the pc which gave me bad quality audio that couldn't be adjusted

You have to put the headset straight into the pc and make sure your pc has TRRS as a feature (meaning it has to have an icon symbolizing that it can act as both microphone and headset at the same time)

If you don't have that sort of headset port you can only use the headphones alone or mic at one time.

The audio however when plugged in has a lot more depth I feel

what games are having the issue in specific? I'd check your moments tab and make sure, when in a game that does work properly, everything looks like this in the screenshot. gameplay capture should be enabled, and mic capture is optional, and it should be blue like in the screenshot. If it's not blue despite the game being open you could possibly have to manually add it to the list of recognized games manually.

You should be able to plug both into the laptop and if you configure your software correctly (input BM-800 output arctis 7) it should just work but if it comes with monitoring and you want to use it's own monitoring capabilities you can probably plug the arctis 7's directly into a passthrough port on the microphone and it'll pass through your microphone audio and windows audio (if it's intended that way, not all microphones do that).

You can try reinstalling gg and it'll probably show up again after installing again but in control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound, it should show up in there, if not then yea definitely reinstall gg for it to come back sadly

the way it's supposed to work is with just the wireless adapter or with bluetooth but not at the same time connected to the same device (do note, it's fine if the bluetooth is connected to something else, just as long as it's not connected to the same computer that the usb audio transmitter is plugged into). if they are connected to the same device (or even if they aren't), maybe try turning off bluetooth to see if that's the issue you can also take a glance in gg -> engine and click on your headset. Maybe there's a power saving option that's causing this issue.

AH ok I see so actually in the same exact category you see "select pointer speed"? set it to what I have in the screenshot or less (or maybe 1 tick above if steelseries doesn't throw a fit) and this most likely will throw your sensitivity off, from here I'd adjust it manually in gg through the cpi option.

Would you just be using your headphones? because you can go into control panel -> hardware and sound -> "Device Manager". then right click on the drivers you see like in the screenshot but you may have different ones, but ONLY the ones associated with your headphones alone, just the arctis headphones you have. And click on "uninstall device", then unplug and plug your headphones back in.

Hey, I have an arctis pro + gamedac and decided to try out sonar. Unfortunately, when using Sonar as my output device for the game audio while playing valorant, I can't hear anything behind me. As soon as I go back to using the regular gamedac, i can hear behind me again. Is there any fix for this?

Yep you can use the nova pro’s standalone without the dac at any time if you’d like. In fact when I checked your message I was on my phone using my nova’s. Here’s a video (with audio, the main focus ofc lol) of me talking into the nova’s, bearing in mind this is raw, unprocessed audio so any unwanted noise you do hear gets cut out by discord and whatever game you play (and yes I was walking the whole time, so don’t mind me breathing lol)

The only solution I’ve found for this one if reinstalling does nothing is to reinstall your audio drivers by going into control panel -> hardware and sound, and clicking on “device manager”, then uninstalling the audio devices you want to show up then unplugging and plugging them back in (so for example uninstall “headphones (arctis nova pro)” and the microphone driver as well under the “audio inputs and outputs” section) BUT if it’s something like realtek drivers don’t uninstall those without knowing your computer’s specific drivers and getting them from online first or else you may screw yourself over

Yep sadly actually that’s the specific generation and above system monitor no longer can read from what I’ve heard. I remember speaking to one of the mods about it around a month ago and he told me the odds they update it are slim because the user that made the github steelseries piggy backed off of stopped posting so steelseries would have to re-code the whole thing which would be tough (or maybe I’m coming up with stuff in my head, but as far as I remember that’s what he said about it sadly)

Hey I have a set of arctis 7+'s and I've noticed some distorted/crackling audio every so often, is there any way to fix this without RMA? I've done a clean install of all of the drivers and the steelseries GG application but no luck.

I bought an arctis pro through last year in September and recently, the plastic on the right ear cup got chipped and is now only connected by the wire. Everything still works but I was wondering if I could get it repaired or replaced.
Am I still eligible for a replacement from the warranty?

I had a similar experience with HP Gaming laptop

I brought it after 9 months cause it was overheating and needed cleaning and change of thermal paste!

And they said - nah, I have to do it myself, but I can't, because of seal over the Chasis, that claims if this is broken waranty is broken! And I argued with them for 6months and its so annoying that I am from Latvia, but in UK, Germany or France they don't even care- but replace!

if i use Headphones (2- SteelSeries Arctis 7P) the sound@is bass boosted and supressed at the same time. so there’s usually this feature where i can use Sonar SteelSeries - Gaming (Gaming Virtual Audio). But for skme reason it’s not appearing in the options

oh in those options you select the actual headphones, not sonar's own audio option. In something like discord yes ofc you select "Sonar - Chat" but in sonar itself you'll want to chose the actual headphones and the microphone you'll be using with sonar.

Oh line in on the dac? Your supposed to plug them into your computer, not the dac. The line in port isn't hearable from your computers side, only through your actual headphones. Unless this is the desired effect but if not you'd have to plug them into your computer

Well you don't need to use sonar if you don't want, so you can disable it if you'd like.

With sonar: If you do want to keep sonar enabled, then for microphone you would select whatever audio driver name your microphone uses.

Without sonar: If you do not want to use sonar, then you'll have to disable sonar by going in settings -> general and toggling off the top toggle talking about sonar. Then you will have to go into control panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound. Then For your playback category (speakers basically) you will want to right click on your headphones (Probably called something "Steelseries arctis 7") and make them the default device and default communication device. Then go into "recording" and right click on your microphone audio device (it may or may not be associated with your computer's built in drivers which most likely would be realtek) and make that your default device and default communication device

Well no. Sonar is basically just asking you what device is your headphones and which device is your microphone. In something like discord your output and input would indeed be sonar, but in sonar's mixer page it's only asking what it should use to output the audio it uses.

The way it's supposed to work as far as I know is your supposed to plug it into a usb interface, so if you don't have one you'll have to find an alternate solution like somehow plugging it directly into your computer that doesn't involve the steelseries transmitter thing

ok so something weird happened to me. So basically last night (unrelated) all of my PC rgb broke and didn't turn off so I went to go bacck to turn it off. (GIgabyte Fusion is so dumb). Anyway when I woke up my PC the keyboard would constantly flash the red rgb on the right arrow and wouldnt stop, and then when I unplugged it and plugged it in to the same port, it just didn't turn on. However when I moved it to my front IO it did turn on but wouldn't for the back port. Then today it works again what.

I've got an arctis 7+ and have sonar installed and am using, the game/chat slider ceases to function correctly. it shows in sonar that I am changing the slider position but doesnt change anything sound wise. Its worked correctly in the past and at some points stops. I an using discord for chat and playing a game. Restarting seems to get it to work most of the time but isnt right now. I have several SteelSeries products every1 of them show up in the SteelSeries GG engine under the gears tab except this Stratus Duo for windows, android, VR. It was brand new and in the correct sealed packaging. I didn't order it directly from the SteelSeries website. In Steelseries GG, in Settings -> General is that sonar toggle you see on or off? (screenshot, for example). if it's on, try turning it off (my screenshot would be an example of it being on)
