Hey guys, I just got new steelseries arctis 7+ headphones. I have some questions about the audio. It sounds very sharp on the highs and low fiedelity. The mids are balanced very well but the high frequency sounds are really sharp and almost unpleasant. Examples would be close in-game gunshots and footsteps. My audio output is set to Gaming (sonar) and not Chat. I have checked this. I tried lowering the highs manually in sonar graph, increasing gain values, making my own custom eq preset in the engine but it didn't really help and the audio in-game is really bad. It's either low and muddy or very high pitched. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

The sounds are okay when listening to music but in-game audio isn't really what I expected from these headphones

unfortunately i'm not the most well versed in audio quality, but one thing to keep in mind is that engine modifies the settings on the headset's memory while sonar is a software layer that modifies the audio between the source/game and your headset. if you have both an EQ in Engine and an EQ in Sonar then you're applying two EQs which may cause some issues

another thing to check is to just send audio directly to the headset (turn off sonar and set your windows output to the 7+) and see if sonar is perhaps modifying the audio in some undesired way

I just bought a nova pro wirelessva ~ but a strange thing happened~~ from time to time a very large crackling audio will come from the headset, ~ after reading some articles, this seems to be a bug in the wireless version? Does anyone have a similar problem? I The only thing is that there is a loud noise in the left channel~ This really scared me...

Not long after using it, there was an ear-piercing popping sound from the left ear canal...
It seems to be related to wireless signal interference or ss's sonar software?
So I would like to ask friends who have this headset, have they encountered similar or the same problem?

You have a good point. Unfortunatey for me, enabling or disabling sonar doesn't help with the overall sharp and muddy audio. It just sounds pretty low quality. Dissapointing for a headset like this. These are made for gaming and they don't work as good in game? Idk what sense that makes. My previous corsair void sounded wayyy better in games then these do. I still think that I am not something right but not exactly sure what. I've tried all the fixes I could come up with.

Fixes include re-installing software, updating firmware and some tweaks as mentioned earlier.

Yea, so far these headphones are not even nearly as good as I imagined unless the sound problem is fixable. If there are no problems and this is the headset's original quality then that is just dissapointing.

you can also try the 3.5mm cable that comes with the headset and see if it sounds the same when wired. that'll bypass a lot of wireless/software features and help you test just the audio

Yea I tried that cable. It flattens out the audio and lowers the volume but the washed out, low fidelity effect doesn't sound as bad. Maybe it's just because of the lowered volume and lesser audio ranges.

So this is what my settings used to be . I now have to change the 2 in green to Default Device to get voice chat - default device is Arctis 5 game and not Chat, which is the default comms device. If i choose default comms device i still do not have voice chat

If you connect it with the usb wireless dongle to the Mac then you should be able to edit settings via the Engine tab in GG and have the settings save directly on the headset for use on a PlayStation or just without the software running on whatever machine you're using even over analog

Hm alright. Does the headset work fine over wireless as-is? I'd try resetting the headset via the pinhole underneath the ear cup (I think it's the left ear cup or whichever cup the power button is located on). If that fails you can try repairing it to the transmitter (there should be instructions for that in the user manual). If all else fails I'd recommend making an official support ticket via https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us

My ChatMix is not working for some reason in Sonar. Using Nova Pro Wireless. I cannot adjust slider in GG, it says to use hardware dial. When I do that, all volume remains the same no matter where I set the dial. I have checked Windows sound settings, Sonar Game is set as default output device, Sonar Chat is default communication device. Any ideas?

Try unplugging the receiver from the PC and/or restarting the PC. The last couple of GG updates seem to have broken hardware ChatMix dials (including mine) but those fixes have worked for me

The headset works normally otherwise, the drivers are visible which means the Mac is detecting the device.
It seems to be an issue with the actual software as the GG app does not show me anything under the Engine tab.

Got it working. Had to uninstall GG, delete any leftover folders in Program Files, Program Files (x86), Program Data, and the Local folder in Users\Account\AppData, reboot PC, then re-download a fresh copy of GG from SteelSeries.

Just got a really weird bug in my arctis pro wireless. basically, te 2.4GHz mode now suddenly sounds as if it's stuck in a call mode with max sidetone after i pressed the bluetooth button but bluetooth mode only sounds absolutely fine. It's definitely in the 2.4GHz mode too because messing with the sonar EQ still works. Switching between DTSx and default does nothing though which is weird. Changing sidetone also does nothing and i now have permanent weak sidetone. In fact, none of the default gg settings do anything. This is honestly really annoying as my headset now sounds like complete garbage and i cant even change my default steelseries gg settings to try to resolve it.

Hi! I recently got an Arctis 7+ and I've been really enjoying it specially with sonar, however, when the steelseries GG app is running I experience constant stuttering that gets really bad if I'm playing any games. I tested it out and if I exit steelseries GG the stuttering immediately stops, and I'm almost sure it's related to sonar since I own a Rival 600 and have always ran the steelseries app without any issues. I do however like sonar and would like to keep it on if at all possible, does anyone have an idea on what might help me?

You need to have the same playback device set here and also make sure the output is the same on both discord and your game. (Easiest way is setting either sonar game or chat as your default communication device) Hope it helps!

Im having trouble with my arctis 7+. It wont re-pair with the wireless dongle. I tried redownloading the engine, read page 11 of the manual (Re-pairing headset to dongle), charged it for 4 hours, and did the pair button under the engine section of steelseries.gg.
I know it says "The app will let you know when the headset has re-connected" but its been TWO HOURS and nothing has happened. It still just says "Reconnect headset"

Quick update. Idk if im magic or something (when I complained it magically turned on)
it quickly went "Not connected" then went back to "reconnect headset" so when the pairing is successful it just auto disconnects from the pair (I think)

Hello guys quick question any one having issues with the display Hub(box thing w.e is called) for the artic nova pro wireless. my knob wheel is having issues and its less than 35days old whenever i turn the knob left to turn down the music the volume decreases by 1 or 2 and if i keep turning it left to keep lowering the volume it jumps to full volume. on the setting screen if i try to scroll between options it does not work either because the knob is registering right turns only horrible experience with such an expensive product so far.

I was able to submit a ticket. From what I've read others have submit tickets complaining about the issue with the ticket system.

The problem is that we cannot view the open tickets. I can see on the support page my ticket, and it's status is set as "new", but when I select it I get redirected to the login page.

hello all. Question. Trying to update firmware for the Arctic Nova Pro Wireless. The Dac gets a green check and is ready to be updated, but the headset is not recognized as connected to PC even though it is. I am having the same issue but I may be being dumb. It's asking me to connect the USB-A to Micro-USB cable to connect my headset but I don't have that. I have a micro SD that connects by what looks like an audio jack.

stuff in the handbook can go out of date fairly quickly since it's dependant on how your PC works, so there's lots of factors on what could be wrong. that's why there's the info on the support pages on #official-support

for example, with the arctis 3, that's an analog headset, which means it entirely relies on your on-board audio systems to run the headset. if there's an issue with your audio drivers, audio chipset, bad updates, etc... it can mess with your audio

I received my arctis 7+ yesterday and while i eventually did get it to work by going deep into advanced settings and changing stuff, i find it odd that the supposedly upgraded version of the arctis 7 doesnt work right out of the box, unlike the original version... also wth did they do to the sounds 😦

my problem was no mic input on pc, the solution was going into control panel, UNINSTALLING (NOT deleting) ALL drivers (including NVIDIA audio, realtek, amd audio array) in the audio section and "sound, video and game controller" section (so 2 sections, one right at the top and the other further down), then AFTER uninstalling the drivers disconnecting the headset, THEN restarting windows (do not cancel disk repair, dont worry its just reinstalling stuff i guess) and then reinstalling steelseries gg (to reinstall Sonar drivers)

and of course checking that the correct input and output was selected

I'm an owner of a Rival 710, and I was just curious looking around for some replacement for the mouse, since he now is starting to be a bit old..
I like the fact that this mouse is mostly modular, and you can simply plug n play the parts if you want to replace them or customize.

The sad thing I saw, is that Steelseries in his own online store is no more selling most of the replacement part like the back shell, Laser/sensor module, and the cables too!
This is kinda sad since the mouse is kinda unique, and was the top mouse selled by Steelseries with an high price too, I feel like abandoned from them.

I started searching around in Internet like Amazon, Aliexpress even googling for some fan made replacement store, but nothing.

I like so much this mouse, i like the fact it is unique.

Presuming it shows up like this, when in the moments screen click on the arrow in this little box in this screenshot and make sure you have game capture enabled. If you want you can also enable mic capture too. Does this possibly help

good afternoon everyone, im here cause i have a sudden issue with my arctis pro wireless. the sound in my left side has completely died out. doesnt work on my pc or bluetooth. have tried the slider thingy on control panel where u check if both sides are getting audio, and they are getting it. however the left side is still deaf, ive also tried to pair the headset once more and reinstalled the engine. turned on and off that sonar thingy, that wasnt an issue either, gaming and chat channes have the same issue. and this suddenly happened, i didnt change any settings, get an engiene update or drop the headset on the ground. any solutions? or might this just be an hardware issue?

Avoid sonar if you can. It's no good, at least for me. Tried it on Tarkov, COD Vanguard and Warzone + on Rainbow six. Spatial sound settings are not as good as I though they will be. Steps are all over the place, shots as well. I'm using Arctis pro w game dac... and the basic settings on output devices (Playback: GameDAC game - default, GameDAC chat - default communication). I had Arctis 5 and it was similiar w less bass and sound range - was dying out on higher noises or low explosion sounds xD. All in all, the Pro headset is really nice and a lot better than 5s. Didn't expect such a change tbh. Anyways, hope it helps.. Cheers

that's normal that the sonar devices don't show up on this list. you should select your headset from this list (in your case the arctis 7+) so sonar knows where to send your audio to.

my guess is that I didnt have headphones plugged in USB

and that caused them not pairing no more

Do you have the plug-in mic, or regular retractable from the earpad? Perhaps you can try reinstalling drivers. Reinstalling software.. you can also check with discord settings if the playback is ok - if discord detects your mic... And check if the mic playback device is set correctly.. other than that, I have no idea.
