Who would even buy that these days
All the machines they make that are worth buying all has soldered on chip memory
Yeah those are kinda silly
props to asrock for taking 2 weeks for a response on rma
splendid
Hiii, I am currently trying to build a very nice pc and I would love if someone can check if what I have done so far is good or nah
send her in
Dmmss??
nah just in the chat here
I was going for the 5070 but it sold out sadly
I would definitely reconsider the board/memory/gpu
unless you are after something specific to that board all the B650 boards are gonna be hella cheaper and just as good
memory is just plain bad, ideally want to stay away from corsair and go for 6000 C30
for the gpu you could definitely grab up a 4070/S/TIS or a 9070XT
I would also consider 7900XT provided its on a decent deal
4060 was the highest one I found
where do you live
I got monarch on sung jin woo
nice
Finally a drive that will fit every Call of Duty ever made π

hell yeah 7TB after windows conversion
122TB π π
Now you can download GTA 6
Itβs 15k π
15k usd? πΏ
seattle
let's build a micro center here
and a whataburger while we're at it
no we should build a 4th microcenter in nyc
@lusty hinge asrock says to wait another week for a response on rma I waited another week they still haven't said anything
like this gotta be a joke
almost a full month
lol RMA process
is it usual for a company to do this in rma
yeah cuz theyre all pathetic
theyre incapable of just hiring support agents
its just like 2 guys being held at gunpoint
anyone have experience buying new egg refurbished gpu?
probably
they're gonna make me wait an extra 4 days
def buying a backup gpu for this reason
i just built this computer, is my cpu good?
nice explanation
build a pc before they get expensive haha but then trump said they dont want to put tarriffs on tech like that
actually, he did. again
is trump putting tarrifs on them or not
hes trying to see how closee he can get to impeachment without actually getting impeached
not really
he's using the tarrifs to see what advantages he can gain Over other countries
high risk high reward type situation
Bringing tarrifs onto already expensive technology is a horrible idea though
and vehicle production
yes we are ALL copping this 5060ti
YES infact lisquie IS building a miku themed pc
miku dayo
I'm looking from the UK (So, not always keeping up with info as it comes in) and I don't think that anyone on the planet could predict what will happen, including the orange fellow himself, sooooooo π€·ββοΈ
tarrifs won't be staying for much longer
I had to email them their schedule for them to update the RMA chart
Whenever I use it I always get these long socks and stuff idk why
Not a pc building help but laptop choosing
Which 1 should I go for?
I'm thinking MSI stealth
Do you have any other laptop I should consider?
It's going to be my partner for 7-8 years or more
if it revolves around any sort of pc you can ask for help
I'm not a professional in gaming laptops but I would go with the rog
build quality sucks on pretty much any gaming laptop
i don't recommend core ultra
if you want to game on the laptop then i suggest that you go for atleast and i7 or ryzen 7 and above, then 4050 minimum since it will be for 7-8 years, but price is up to you
im thinking the omen if anything though
good for price and good soecs
specs*
4070 and ryzen 9
i wouldn't get a 4050
got a question for here what should i upgrade first mobo and cpu or the graphics card
for mobo i found a kit for 1200 for motherboard (asus tuf gaming b650 plus wifi), cpu ryzen 7 9800x3d, ram: 2x32gb 5600 MHz corsair dominator platinum and a samsung 9100 pro heatsink 2TB pcie 5)
and i have an and msi z590 pro wifi with an I7 11700KF, 2x16GB corsair vengeance ddr4 3200Mhz and a samsung 970 evo plus 1TB pcie 3
graphics card is an msi suprim x RTX 3080
it depends on use case, if you're a 4K enjoyer then a heavier GPU is going to go the extra mile. If you rather all the frame rate and non of the graphical quality then a new CPU would be ideal
I know nothing about intel. In my case I have a gen3 Ryzen and I upgraded from a 2070 to a 4060 and the CPU has caused bottle necking with the the GPU. So you want to make sure your current CPU can handle the GPU upgrade if you go that route first. Don't be silly like me...Thank goodness I get that problem fixed next week lol
I've had to live with that for like a year pfft
has caused bottle necking? or rather literally nothing changed
you could probably push your stuff more with a 40/ 50 series
if you want future proofing though, probably get the that am5 bundle
@lusty hinge it took 1 month and 8 days for asrock to fully process my RMA
they just shipped it out
lol thats crazy long
I got a ryzen 7 5800x Need to upgrade? Or keek it for 2 years and upgrade to AM5?
well you only need to upgrade if you're not hitting the ideal performance target anymore
you should be fine, what gpu do you have
like speedu said you should only need to upgrade when you're not getting good performance
CPU upgrades should take careful planning IMO. you usually need to buy 2 - 3 things
Stay with am4
For hr best gpu rn is a amd radeon rx 7600 xt 16 gb
320 usd
does anyone know where i can get a good prebuilt
5060ti is x8?
what in gods name
got a question i just got a gift some one send me asus h670 tuf soo i was thinking of buying a intel cpu like made my mind for 13700k but ppl say that it has instability issue via oxidation and should i trust intel or should i sell it and go for am5 which would be a hard cause i have to buy ddr5 ram plus new mobo and cpu amd cpu are soo overpriced and would pair it with a 4080s or some thing like 5070ti
or you could just update your bios
um h670 is am5.. according to google
oh i somehow got x670 instead of h π¦
yeah thats a little different
ya. earlyness and google did not cooperate this morning
Oxidisation was only affecting select batches from 2023 iirc, other issues was solved via bios updates
Only real issue now is the lack of good 2 dimm boards so you can actually have good memory performance
Soo is it safe to consider intel making my mind on 13700k
Iam upgrading from am4 to lga1700 13700k ddr4
English only please :)
MAN
I JUST UPDATED MY BIOS AND I LOST FPS

wait
my ram speed is to 2400mhz
so it just rested my ram
great
nevermind i got a boost
Yea, what ddr4
Lga1700 is memory cucked on ddr5, ddr4 you're basically nerfing it
If you are committing to ddr4 what you need is 2x16 B die and a couple of days to lose on memory OC
Otherwise I think I actually would recommend against it and just go the route of a 5800X3D
Unless you need the cores
Anyone know any cool lighting setups on their keyboard?
100% static purple
nah broo its ddr4 5333 oc and i dont have an am4 board i would be pairing it with 4080s
what do you mean by die in couple days
Nah my mobo don't support oc but my ram do so ill buy a 4000mhz and oc corsair cl18
broo the mouse you have been using just wanna know its a razer viper v2 pro do you have any issue with it and is it great for large hand and ever faced a issue with it scroll wheel issue are there ppl say
But you're upgrading from am4?
yes
So you do have an am4 board
am4 is dead and there are no high end cpu for it soo i moved to intel and am4 was rocking 5600 before and and
no i dont have am4 board cause i sell it
Trust me that 13700k on ddr4 is going to be worse than a 5800x3d for gaming
Ddr4 is that bad for lga1700
my old mobo was a b550 aours elite
i was upgrading like in am5 boards are too expensive plus for 300 dollar you cant find a good cpu
No lga1700 cpu is good on ddr4 this is the point I'm trying to make
the 7800x3d is the best cpu but very over priced
You're gonna be down like 30 40% perf in games
If you grabbed the best ddr4 and oc'd it to the max you would probably only hit xmp ddr5 levels of performance
Lga1700 is a platform where memory performance makes the overall performance
You could be punching up to a 7800x3d or doing worse than a 5700x3d depending on the memory configuration alone
On the same cpu^
It's genuinely that bipolar
soo i dont have an option because i have the mobo ram just cpu left
Well my only recommendation is to learn how to memory oc
Ultimately the cpu you're putting in there isn't going to change much
13400f or 14900k
You might see slightly higher perf on higher end parts because they have bigger caches but that memory limitation is a very real thing
If it's xmp you intend to use then it's not making a difference tbh
Memory manufacturers have been very bad for a very long time for making xmp profiles that suck ass
Never had issues with viper v2 pro
thanks
Hello, I bought my computer used about 2 years ago from a dear friend of mine, recently I noticed that its performance seemed to be deteriorating while playing games, although I haven't dusted the inside for a while, I haven't really looked at the performance for a while, but now that I started "Oblivion remastered", I noticed that it keeps the processor at 100% utilization π , could you recommend what I should improve on it first? Thanks in advance for your answers!

broo
buy your self new mobo cpu and ram could upgrade to a 9070xt or if you are nvidia guy better buy 5070ti or 5080 depend
psu also upgrade
Should I buy an entire new rig ?

probably, but the ssds could potentially still be used at least the 1tb
A 5070 is going to be cheaper nowadays then the 4070 serires ? I've read a lot of thingsabout graphic cards
actually, its quite slow. so id only use it for older games
the above comment is about the ssds
its like gen 3x4
its not terrible depending what u paid, and u said uve had it 2 years?
I paid for it like 1125 euros in 2023, I've been told its quite strong for the value
It was used for like a year but the guy switch it for a laptop because hes not gaming anymore
broo
I feel like some of you are better at how to make a new PC nowadays with decent money spending on it xd
I wouldnt even bother with Nvidia GPUs at this point. The only 40 series I was interested in, the 4070 Super Ti, is pretty much discontinued and if the crippling scalping doesn't turn you away from buying lets say a 5080, then the constant bricking probably do.
if youre using those ssds for games its one of the best ssds available
yo can sm help me wi th my steelseries please
i have no idea why you came to the conclusion that the ssd is bad from the fact its "3x4"
in fact thats what i am saving money for rn
do you want to say what with
guys
i hate keyboards vro
tried all of these?
I have an HP PC, it's too bad, does anyone know how I can improve my performance without buying a processor or graphics card, just with an application?
how do you intend to get any worthwhile performance boost from some software
or just made changes on my pc
yo who knows how to fix game detection on steelseries
its my first time using it
icl
other than using MSI Afterburner or going into BIOS and doing some shenanigans with your CPU/RAM you wont get any improvement with software
and it keeps saying no game detected
only desktop capture
and idk why its dfoimg this
I have an old PC and I'm fed up with it.
#π»-building-a-pc message
or get a new one
I'm broke... ππ
I'm tired of playing on an old PC, I have no money, I'm broke
unfortunate
consider overclocking
idk what hardware youre running tho
might just be easier to lower your in-game settings
or make use of upscalers like FSR (or DLSS if you have an nvidia card)
i dont use steelseries software cuz its a piece of garbage
what u use
nothing cuz good stuff doesnt need software
yea I tried them
the LEDs definitely aren't broken considering they were just on a few days ago
#1 razer snypase hater
app sucks so bad
I am gonna go crazy
I am gonna lose my mind
the gpu wasn't the problem
it's STILL blackscreening
@lusty hinge gpu riser, pcie slot, or psu / psu cables are the only culprits ?? I already tried ram and a brand new 7700xt
if it's the psu corsair is never seeing my money again
broo it gonna be the psu because of low voltage the system crash and
or press if this gonna work win ctrl shift b keys
they keys will reset your gpu driver than it should work
yeah on my black shark v2 pro like its crash
just go with 9070xt if you found under 850 dollar
scalping is crazy you will find 600 dollar gpu for 1100 plus
i have also suffer a lot finding my self 5080 for 1000 dollar
broo the mobo super high end buy a x670 or a b650 my been running a 7900x on a b650 asus tuf and put that money in gpu and it can run a 7800x3d with no issue
try this pc
go with it perfect combo 4k gaming and other stuff tell me if you like it
5295$ for your
3340
or you can cut some more cost buy buying a cheap monitor of 1440p asus
my pc
i tried ddu and it didn't work
it's definitely a physical problem
yea they're good
@lusty hinge got any psu ideas
hey if you turn on turbo boost like in in intel but it takes 253 watt it can damage and lit it go 100c
do you have a second machine to try it on
also idk what that other guy is trying to tell you
idk why itd be the psu too low "volts".
why are you attaching screenshots when the whole idea of the site is that its super easy to share it with a tiny link?
from what i can tell it seems like they already own that PC, so a recommendation wont do much. although the RMe 2023 isnt too bad, its a cut down RM, but with an awful fan.
but if they were buying now, theyd be stupid to get anything but the GV1000 (assuming US).
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nCzXsY/vetroo-gv1000-1000-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-psu-vt-gv1000bk
you could also try chancing it with the Century II - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ds8Pxr/montech-century-ii-1200-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-century-ii-1200w
aris hasnt made the review public yet, afaik. im too lazy to double check that.
or if youre happy to spend a little more the AGS is ridiculous OP. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2kXMnQ/msi-mpg-a1000gs-pcie5-1000-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-mpg-a1000gs-pcie5 one of the quietest 1000w models iirc
the Century G5 was decent so hopefully the Century II is. but π€·ββοΈ
this doesnt damage the cpu
i don't
the obvious steps forward would be trying without pcie riser, trying bottom physical x16 slot (if you have one) and trying with a single stick of ram (if you want)
what does your gpu riser support? gen 3?
if its a gen 3 riser, try heading into bios and setting your slot to gen 3
can always try a fresh windows install if you havent already
if that doesnt work then its probably something mega weird and something i probably dont know how to help with
as funny as it is for me to just say "AMD moment", its weird its happening. seems like a pretty isolated issue. try reverting to some older driver version, or updating to the very newest ones.
I believe this only started happening after I got strimers
could they not be delivering enough power?
they aren't lian li
alright, I'll try the bottom x16 slot with the riser. if it still happens I'll try the top x16 slot horizontal mount
doubt it, although always worth trying without. removing the possibilities makes testing easier.
if these are extensions, you could try removing the extension and clipping the RGB onto your own psu cables
its what i did on my old rig, just bought used lian li strimers and threw the extensions out
just used the rgb and the clips
any other graphics card that you can try with or a friends to borrow or something
try DDU with new drivers maybe
Ill try the 6500xt when my brother isnt usin it
lisquie
I am using the normal pcie cables and it still happened
and device manager is saying this
alright I re installed windows I'll lyk if anything happens again
stupid windows vro
ok bro iam gonna place order for viper v2 pro i have a big hand was using g pro x super light before soo i have a palm grip style
and
will the size of this be ok because i was using g pro x super light so upgrading thinking of getting but not sure as it would be ok for large hand
Funnily enough the 7800X3D was considered at some points but then I quickly found out it was ridiculously price inefficient
x3d chips are overpriced
didn't work
clean windows install did nothing
also tried undervolting and that didn't work either
it's probably a broken part
has the 6500xt been tested
no not yet
very weird issue
i would imagine there is just something faulty somewhere
clearly not within the gpu though considering you got it RMAd
could it be a VRM
doubt it but π€·ββοΈ
if it was vrm core would probably be dead at this point
vrms either work or kill stuff typically
kinda like psus
since they both are similar in role
I just now realized but if I keep restarting my pc is lasts less time after each restart
just rma it tbh
I was playing minecraft it shut down after 30 minutes
I did rma the gpu
the mobo?
you got another 16x on it?
yes but it did the same thing
am5?
am4
yes
you got an old card lying around?
im pretty sure it's device manager
can device manager turn off the gpu while it's running
device manager is basically task manager for hardware
it will only do as you command and report general changes
if a device is disabled then that is by the system itself because either the device doesn't work or isn't compatible atm
sometimes when i turn the pc back on i have to enable my 7700xt in device manager
I am like 99% sure
that the mobo is bad
took it out put in my prime b450M-A and it's not crashing
yeah 400 dollar you can get 4060 for that price
or even cheap
I would rather not buy a 4060
does anybody know a good memory benchmarking software
geekbench
my 7800xt seems to get awfully loud when i get above 90% usage π¦
that's odd
my 7700xt is quiet above 90% and is always under 61c
what are your temps on 90% ?
i wasnt watching, i just moved out of the area that was causing it fast
after that happened i put on the overlay with temperature
is it still doing it
yoo bro just under volt it will get better temps plus more fps
lmao im a dummy and im lucky i didnt bust nothin! my gpu support was messin with the 3rd fan π¦
you shouldn't have to undervolt if you have the bare minimum of intake
is there an intake fan to the right side of your gpu
ya nah i took the undervolt off soon as i saw the gpu fan not bein right. turned it off and fixed the issue
that's good. wouldn't want the thermal paste to wear
yeah he should do it its good for intel and amd
ew
gets more fps
unless he genuinely wants to do so why would you just blind recommend someone compromise system stability
nah i was just saying cause i under volt my old 7700 xt sapphire card soo it worked would getting a high fps plus low temps and chunks less power
amd is the best brand for now just if they improve their software plus price
theyre objectively inferior if you compare similar tier of graphics cards
yeah
AMD is what you go for when you want nvidia -$50
dude wdym yeah
you literally just said theyre the best
yeah i cant pay 1000 dollar for 9 percent plus fake frame money dont grow on trees
coolio
5080 is not worth like you wouldn't get it for 1000 dollar cheapest is 1500 dollar and you would get 4080s for 1000 dollar and why would some gave 500 dollar for 9 percent and fake nvidia really want to work hard or amd will beat like intel clear example you have to improve over time fake frame would gave you nothing
you cant find a 4080 super for 1000 dollars
ok so $1000 used versus $1500 brand new for a better card
seems fair
thats a stupid comparison
yeah
but
if you get from store you can find one for 1000 or 1100 would be max and plus nvidia card are priced soo much that isnt even worth
dude
what store
theyre all either unavailable or ridiculous prices because theyre not in stock
yes you are right where do you live
in usa here at dubai price are good
sorry uea
you can get a 4080s for 4000 aed that around 1100
oh my gosh
i am gonna swap the pcb out of ts
lisquie
it will NOT go out of mac os mode
my alt and windows keys are swapped
"taking power from the gpu gives it more frames" BRO ππππππ
LOL SO WE JUST LYING
there is HARDLY a difference in temps if you have sufficient cooling. i undervolted mine, before and after it was 60c
do any of these need to be off
@lusty hinge
i was updating windows
and it said pending restart on the thing
so i restarted it
and now im stuck in a boot loop
got the drive bro!
Should've bought a SteelSeries SSD. π
Doesn't matter. Gaming and day to day OS use don't benefit from anything more than a mid-range DRAMless PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD.
tbh was more asking about the size...
I bought one for OS and one for games
both 1tb?
i was using an ADATA sata from 2018 ππ
Buy SteelData from 2025 π€
SteelSeries needs to become the new Asus. Make everything.
I want a SteelPhone, SteelBook laptop, etc.
bro asus is world leading brand
and have too much to offer while steelseries just sell other stuff steelseries can never ne asus
best nice may it last you long
Asus are poorly regarded by actual tech experts.
They used to be the go-to brand maybe 10-15 years ago.
Now, their customer service is appalling and their products are indistinguishable from anybody else's (GPUs, boards, mice, keyboards, PSUs, etc.).
But they're still way overpriced as if it's still the days of them being the premium option.
E.g. the best AM5 motherboard is either the Gigabyte AI TOP or MSI Godlike. Nobody cares about Asus in the AMD mobo space.
more $$$ doesnt mean better.
asus offer better for their strix lineup they are best mobo making company
nobody cares about anyone in any motherboard space
if anything the only thing people care about is asrock
but no anyone with any knowledge is not choosing stuff based on the brand
especially for AM5 boards where you literally just choose the cheapest one that looks cool
they still make the best gpu PCB and best boards for ocing so
oh... you recommended the godlike
thatsss awful
oh and make pretty decent PSUs
but you also recommend the godlike which is A board in which is highly regarded by everyone as the worst board you could buy, its worse for OCing than the unify (along with many other good XOC boards) which is a 3rd of the cost and offers no improvement in anything but is $1500
oh its even E atx just to make you change cases and give you an extra hard time on installation
I really would like to see where you've seen asus slander though and whos telling you to recommend the godlike and that godawful thing from gigabyte
ask any ocer on lga1700 or AM5 and I mean actual comp ocers
lga1700 subs are dominated by the APEX and the the start of AM5 was 99% Genes (might be different now? idk but gene domination was unreal)
most people still use the apex on lga1851 despite the unify the tachyon X and OCF all existing
have you seen
apple cant get 8000 on his UX
yea you have to play with RTTs and odts on it
it does do 8k but its also a pain for doing 8k
because how can you tune for 8k if all the current cpus of the time did like 7200 in G2 on a good sample
and then when actual good cpu came out MSI just dipped and rereleased the generic boards
silly msi
more of a steal data
π
Ok, so you're saying Asus boards are good for the 0.01% of DIY builders who are competitive OC'ers?
Now, back to reality
OC'ing fell out of practice over the last decade to the extent most tech enthusiasts don't bother to OC anything.
Also, the best OC boards have two DIMM slots. Not practical for an enthusiast who'd want a large memory pool. Like, um, yours truly, who runs 4x48GB DDR5-6600 CL32 @ 6000 CL32.
You said "the best"
Unless you meant the best at wasting money
And asus actually has the best 4 dimmer as well that being the hero
But no most "tech enthusiasts" do oc still otherwise they're not really enthusiasts are they?
You don't call a car person an "enthusiast" if all he does is read spec sheets and buys stock cars
That's a guy who likes to talk about cars but not an "enthusiast" in any meaningful capacity
Also calling any consumer platform "for enthusiasts" is quite funny by your definition which i assume is just needing a lot of ram and nothing else
^ a load of nonsense from a novice PC builder
^ Thats what you say when you don't know how to respond
^ skibidi toilet
does steelseries GG not let me clip with amd adrenaline
like i get video but im not getting any audio
"av1 isnt supported" microsoft its not that difficult
Got a new gpu what do you think about the pipe work πππ
av1 isnt supported by discord or windows or a lot of things by default
windows needs to be installed from microsoft store and discord just wont support it
personally i would suggest just clipping in mp4 if youre just clipping games
gta 6
Microsoft and amd being devious as usual
I can use HEVC but there's no mp4 format
also i figured it out
AMD adrenaline doesn't let you change the audio output so you have to use a headphone output on windows
adrenaline doesn't support audio mixers very well
how are the temps?
guy is just GONE
ππ
dayummm
ππ
That needs 1000w bios to really stretch its legs
really?
I have a 1300w psu so that could be possible lol
Yea that's power limited
graphics cards are gonna need their own outlet at some point π
They have limited the astral alot i can't push above 100% power and I can only change the memory clock up to 2000mhz
It's more nvidia
Oh ok
just rma it
Nvidia control PCB designs and restrictions
I can do 425 on the gpu and 2000 on the memory lol not sure how the cable would hold at a constant 613w though lol
every brand is just cooling
Kinda why evga and nvidia didn't get along
But yea that could probably hit 750w if not power limited
1000w you would need voltage mod
And a fire extinguisher
These cards are melting things just in standard settings ππ
Nah you could cool 1kw on air
What's the gpu
1 kilowatt
Yea
we gonna start measuring in kw soon
It's not about the amount of power you're using but the amount of waste energy being generated and where that heat is going
There are loads available now in the uk
I'm seeing some outages
Either that or I was just lucky they actually the air cooled one in after I bought this I would have rather had that so I didn't have huge pipes lol
Probably in the spec sheet?
yea
I worry about those cards
in a normal aio you can just replace it but that
is probably expensive asf
I don't really keep them long enough for that I'll keep this till a 6090ti or what ever the next flag ship is so about 3 years
I blame Microsoft for amd driver issues
probably some random windows driver
Windows when it comes to needing a driver but not automatically downloading it
pc smells like it's burning
specifically psu
smelt the back of it 2 feet away smells like smoke
alright so the psu smelt so bad to where I just took it out completely
like I wasn't anybody near the pc and I could smell it
lisquie do you think the psu is overheating then it just shuts everything down
does anyone know which grease is used for Apex Pro Gen 3 keyboard?
vro
every time i come back here somethings going on with your pc
one day youll be able to just game
highly doubt it. what psu is it and what case is it
yeah doubt it
Im gonna buy a new one do you got any suggestions
one that can handle rx9000 and am5
too lazy to check if compatible with your case
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bGJp99/corsair-rm750x-shift-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-side-interface-atx-power-supply-cp-9020251-na
flip a coin
not gonna buy another corsair one
why??
did you not see the things I've said
not to mention what lisquie was talking about
yea I'm gonna look at some asus ones
MSI, ASUS and EVGA dont produce their own psus
EVGA have some of the worst psus available that can still be purchased
https://youtu.be/60jVEwq44ZU its not like im wrong
The EVGA 500W will have a tough time delivering full load at areas with 115V input because its bridge rectifier is not bolted on a heatsink. According to the specs, this bridge rectifier cannot exceed 3A at 100 degrees Celsius without a heatsink. (https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/263282/HY/GBU1006.html)
π Model number: EVGA 5...
hardly any brands make their own psus
ok but that doesnt mean you should just religiously trust them as god
they have plenty of bad psus
yeah
a good psu should be used in a high end pc ppl now days compromise on psu and buy a cheap brand
what would you say is the most reliable brand?
or most reliable model
none
although NZXT has a very limited selection of PSUs and a large majority of them are good
alright I'll take a journey to best buy in a few days and buy one
didn't know we were worshipping power supplies
works for a day perfectly fine then the next day it's back to turning off
awesome
its pretty easy to spot a good nzxt power supply
if its fully modular its one of the good ones π
if its non modular then its easier to just avoid it
nah i didnt even know we aint hindu broo that worship every thing
just recived a ton of money from a special event and I want to buy a new pc with a $3500 budget. I prefer intel, nivida, and water cooling. Any suggestions?
Do you game?
no
if u play games get amd
for cpu
Ok
yoo whats up. this may not be the best channel for this, but i was looking at the arena 9 speakers. so any of u have any recomendations on wether i should get the arena 7 or 9. or something completely different
That looks sick, nice
what is the best handheld rn?
probably ally x or the switch depends what youre doing
switch has nintendo titles
APPROVED
I don't care for Nintendo titles
I'd rather just but a 3ds and play all the older games
maybe I'll buy a steamdeck or rog ally
I considered the msi claw until I saw the cpu
anyone got some advice on how best to spec a gaming excusive pc for a Β£700+-25% (928 usd), building for a friend and its been a while since ive looked at the market
Best to go budget lga1700 I.e. B6/760 board with standard generic ddr5 6000 cl30 and maybe a 13400f or 13600k.
You could go am5 but I feel like its still a tad expensive for entry level.
For gpus id Probably go 6750xt/7700xt for amd, nvidia you'd probably want a 3060 or 4070 for intel a b580.
@lusty hinge has to do psus/ssds because she'll kill anyone who recommends trash.
Rest of it is more just cosmetic. cooling isn't really a requirement for the low to mid range
I tried to stear clear of 13th gen because of the microcode issues a little while ago, even though they are now resolved its not something i like to tempt fate with. if you recommend it ill take another look and reconsider my stance on it.
It Only affected 13/4700ks and 13/4900ks
Those were the only skus with a high enough voltage table to draw enough current to degrade
Which yes also means correctly set power and current limits prevents it out right even without microcode updates
Those limits were set to unlimited by board manufacturers by default and intel kinda just turned a blind eye to it for the last decade. Which is why it even happened to begin with
yeah, im aware of the whys hows and whos. its partly why i prefer to undervolt my cpu where i can (also cooling). Ill keep that in mind when buying though. as most likely will try to buy used where I can to help save a buck. thanks.
psu βΊοΈβΊοΈ
bro go with a 13700k the main issue was oxidation not tdp cause you can under volt it and
got myself a mobo for that cpu which was a great deal
one thing not a fan boy of intel but i got a loss of 50 usd on mobo aours elite b550m keep in mind reselling amd is a big loss
while i have a 5600 tray very slightly used that would also go for 70usd i got an offer bought it for 125
This is false, oxidation only affected select batches from 2023
The widespread issue was extremely high and unconstrained power draw
Current limiting or undervolting are the 2 most effective counters to it, but stock operation was a toss up of the silicon lottery since it determined the VID table and that directly affected power draw
Until the introduction of intels microcode that enforced the intel documented spec for those those cpus
boiiii this is so tuff ππππ₯π₯π₯
yeah
gpu shortage is still going on scalping at top soo expensive 5080 for 1800 usd
broo we had a conversation on ram i bought this 16gb ddr 3600mhz and cl18 argb soo this would work fine with my new cpu 13900k
or 13700k
would it work? sure, but performance wise its going to suck big
like I wouldn't be shocked if a 12400F and a basic DDR5 tune would beat it
get the parts at micro center
nah i checked from chat gpt saying would be good for 2k but i would probli game on 4k soo yeah at 4k the gpu matter 4080s
nice ohh specs π₯
I need a new cooler
fyi ChatGPT doesnt have any knowledge on anything
its just an LLM that tells you what it thinks is the most likely answer
Nah it the best technology ever made thanks to sam
its cool sure but that doesnt change the fact it doesnt know anything π
Get your self a lian li one
any particular one or just lian li
You could consider asus ones and corsair msi aours
corsair π€’
Well then you get your self nzxt or arctic liquid freezer 3 or silverstone or id cooling or the
Coolermaster
Hope
corsair has some alright budget ones, nautilus is nice but all of the other ones are so overpriced it's actually ridiculous
but there's are definitely better budget ones from other brands
one of these two
hydroshift offers pretty little performance uplift over the warframe
just different fans
proprietary ofc
alright well i just won't get lian li
it seems like everything they sell is proprietary at this point
Alienware mindset
Well get it
the thermalright one is good though right
Yeah same looking for a aio would buy asus or lian li
Well the lian li one is best and most powerful luxurious
yeah
why
youre paying just under $100 more for what is basically the exact same thing
only difference is the funky tubing and the proprietary nonsense
corsair, nzxt, lian li.. yeah.
even ASUS is joining in
thanks
does anyone know a good gpu+cpu combo for competitive gaming?
competitive gaming usually ends up being fortnite or valorant all at the lowest settings
so literally anything
ok so still literally anything
if it was made in the past few years its more than enough
and im sure not "anything" will be good as even the lowest settings ends up getting low fps for a low end pc {depending on the game]
well
yeah use 20 year old hardware and im sure itll struggle
but you dont need a $500 cpu for a game that already gets hundreds of frames on $100 hardware
theres only one true competitive game anyway just play osu
i wasnt saying that
its worth in sense that it gave you more cooling
i was aking for recomendations
for $100 the cooling difference is incredibly minimal
how many stars?
depends how much money youve got
no idea not my gif
looks
thats not what you just said
looks is subjective
if $100 more for the different looks is worth it to you then go for it but typically it isnt
no problem hope you come back soon
well
nah you are right but if 50 dollar than yeah
Black setup Will fit to white wall?
I unironically think a black setup looks better on a white wall than a black one, but its up to you
It's hard to find an aio that "looks bad" anyways
Could never catch me paying that much for design
Cool
broo 2025 how long would you play this blox game lets play roblox
how can you start your sentence with "broo 2025 how long would you play this" and then end it with "lets play roblox"
its chill
are they complementary
looks like it
its totally incompatible with POM and PBR but who reallycares
Yes complementary
I never went out of my way to switch because i like the customization
was just in a sarcastic way
I'm looking to build my first pc and I was wondering if someone could look over my list to see if there's anything I should improve. Thanks!
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mT6wFZ
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 5070, NZXT H5 Flow (2024) ATX Mid Tower
yoo bro
yoo if you are building pc in white go for white part only if in black then go for black and use and your cooler super over kill for that cpu soo should consider something else
or just go for whatever colour scheme looks cool
you didnt really provide much information so i just went ahead and assumed youre gaming, in which case consider not paying $110 for a 240mm AIO on a 7600X.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lhwxjn
i would probably just go for something like this.
with other case and board options here
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bQGhP6/montech-air-903-max-atx-mid-tower-case-air-903-max-w
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qcbRsY/asrock-b650m-pro-rs-wifi-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-b650m-pro-rs-wifi
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HkTFf7/asrock-b850-pro-rs-atx-am5-motherboard-b850-pro-rs
a lot of what you picked was mostly just overpriced for what it offers
A750GL has a really loud fan, is black, and costs $109, which is $20 more than the one i chose.
SN850X provides no gaming performance uplift over something like the MP44L or the C910, but costs $150.
H5 Flow only comes with 2 pre installed fans which use proprietary connections π
Liquid Freezer III 240mm at $120 is ludicrous considering there are better 360mm coolers for cheaper.
the RAM you chose has an identical looking kit but for $20 less
motherboard was just changed for similar priced options with better rear io
alr tysm
very helpful i didnt realize there were that cheaper options
and i wanna play mostly racing games like f1 25 or assetto corsa do you think these parts will be enough
yea
alr thx
also do u know any good priced 1440p monitors
@lusty hinge
Does it matter which mousepad i buy
I want a big white / gray one that covers my desk but I dont want a horrible one
Getting rid of the "Scary" corsair mousepad
yes but also no
it matters in the sense that not all mouse pads are "good" and will fall apart within a few months
and that mousepads also have different traits, such as being really smooth for glide/speed or other pads are good for control
theres even glass pads but you need to buy pretty expensive ones to get a good one
if you literally do not care about how a mouse pad performs and just want something that looks good then by all means just get the cheapest one that looks cool
me personally i use this https://shop.x-raypad.com/shop/x-raypad-aqua-control-ii-sakura-night-gaming-mouse-pads/ at 900x400mm
i know a lot of people say the https://www.lethalgg.eu/products/saturn-pro-xl is good too but personally i think its too small
The Saturn mousepad is designed for those who want control while still having an easy glide. Named aptly after Saturn, it has a good amount of control with a little something special. Static friction is on the lower end of the spectrum for control pads while the dynamic friction provides a locked in feel without being "muddy". The surface itself...
artisan pads are generally great
theres this resource https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RAnmZxDNduaGV8kB-GCvZ0MO6d9-0j9jmrU2f8dp0Ww/edit?gid=0#gid=0 made by hoya but
i wouldnt worry about spending too much on a mouse pad tbf. as long as its decent and youre happy with it its fine
fwiw i like my Aqua Control II im considering buying it again but this time in pink/blue
so many risks with those
I've gotten used to big ones I couldn't switch to a glass one
aren't they really thick too
ill look for one tomorrow
I keep spilling rootbeer on this mousepad so there's just a bunch of orange stains everywhere ππ
yoo
my half complete pc watching ztt
trying soo far good but the cable part is soo tough though
i just exploded
I need it βΌοΈβΌοΈ
Heat goes up - you dont want to fight the current of heat
When you put your fans on the bottom as exhaust you're disrupting the natural flow of heat
Yooo guys do you need a RGB Hub when building a pc? Cause i didnt buy one and it didnt came with the caseβ¦.
Not all the time if your parts RGB is compatible with your Motherboard you should be able to manipulate the RGB with that software
Ie I have Tforce ram, and Coolmaster fans that I control with my ASUS software
Not only that but exhaust out the bottom will help pull dust and debris down into the pc
I have a montech case with 3 fans installed i bought a coolermaster cpu cooler with 3 fans
The case doesnβt matter as much itβs all about if your motherboard is compatible then you will down load their RGB software, like I use ASUS ARUA
if it didn't come with the case you have like 2 options
if they're daisy chain, link them and plug them into a 3pin ARGB header
if not , then just buy a hub. they're pretty cheap
I bought a 10 slot hub for 8 dollars
lisquie what's your opinion on nzxt fans
Damn my camera sucks
@lusty hinge Womier are a bunch of liars ππ
no wonder why my lights randomly turned off
sk65 things clearly
my sk75 rgb does exactly what i tell it

theyre typically overpriced and they use proprietary parts but whatever
the 3 in 1 fan im not the biggest fan of
if one fan fails the whole thing is useless really but yknow
its cool
my close friend selling a lian li aio 360mm and there is only one fan rgb blinking so i can buy it at good price and change the fan would it be fine
i wonder if one of the manuals are swapped
well my rgb works its just that on their manual they have multiple key combos that dont actually do anything
id believe it
considering theres key combos that do nothing seems reasonable
it did come with an adater for the argb and pwm
adapter
i wouldnt have bought them otherwise
@lusty hinge i have a corsair nautilus 360mm and I suppose it's not enough to cool a ryzen 7 5800x
it just overheated and shut off
WE are infact NEVER giving corsair our money again π₯π₯π₯
awesome
@lusty hinge I got it on camera
my camera is broken and blurry but you can see the temps and stuff
temps look fine idk what it could be
what's your specs
yes
amd Ryzen 7 5800X
RX7700xt sl
msi 850gl
MSI mag b550 tomahawk wifi
corsair vengeance ddr4 x2 16gb
corsair nautilus 360mm
corsair 3500x
and two samsung gen 4 nvme's
so far i have swapped every part except the cpu for testing
yall could be a gpu prob also
i have tried x2 radeon 7700XT
the card is fine, i highly doubt its a hardware issue with the card considering i have enough wattage and i've tried 2
at the end of the day we have to enjoy game 7700xt could also do that in the range of budget
guys where is lennart
idk
For ref that sounds like gpu core turning off
No image + fan 100%
Could be house electrics
Or if you have like 4 extension cords daisy chained
I'd say try a different room and plug directly into a socket
Ime amd cards really don't like dirty power at all, had a power routing issue where an rx480 would just turn off underload but 3070 just gave some minor artifacting
the goat best and honest youtuber
I dunno about that chat
same guy who complained about nvidia doing something that literally everyone does
hes on the better end though
did you ever find the fix to it
if it really is just shutting off, it happens more on apex and minecraft
dont know if that means anything
it rarely happens on roblox or fortnite
it also randomly stops for a random amount of time, i'll be able to play without it shutting off from a week to maybe even a month then the next day it's doing it again
i have swapped parts for testing, everything except the cpu and ram
i just ran occt full power load + furmark without any crashes or hiccups
has it happened since
no but ill test it more when I'm home
Sorry to chime in, The video you uploaded of the monitors showing no display signal & your fans going 100% has been my issue since Feb, I sent it away & they couldnt find an issue then the issue started happening again so ive scheduled for another pickup. Yesterday was my first day not having a single crash like the video i did 2 things, I switched off my SS GG app & ran a different headset & also took my pc out of the surge protector & ran it straight from the socket. Going 24hrs strong rn hopefully you find a fix or i do maybe this one temporary
freaky stuff
I'll try it when I'm home
its so odd how I can power / memory test everything to max without crashes but it somehow randomly does it on minecraft of all games
minecrafts just weird tbf
if i play minecraft all of my monitors get set to an incredibly low brightness
and it doesnt go away until i restart my pc
i have no idea why
alright i've been playing for 6 hours and it hasn't happened yet
not getting my hopes up though considering it's bipolar
didn't fix it
now i dont know if any of these are important but it is logging some kernel issues
so does that confirm its a physical issue (like a wire) and not a driver problem?
should i change any of these in bios
global c state power control - auto
power supply idle control - auto
package power limit - auto
CPPC - auto
CPPC proffered cores - auto
command rate - auto
pcie1 gen switch - auto
chipset gen switch- auto
pcie1 lanes configuration- auto
VGA detection - auto
restore after ac power loss - power off
system power fault protection - disabled
resume by PCIE device - disabled
kernel power is just losing power at a hardware level
i have absolutely no idea about how to go forward with this issue anymore. id try out the r/TechSupport discord server
i cant send the invite link here but the join code is - 2EDwzWa
or try out BAPCs troubleshooting channels
either way youre gonna run into people who spend a large portion of their day troubleshooting tech and are much more likely to find a fix
thanks I'll join and ask them
Goodmorning I hope someone from steelseries sees this but I have been using the artic nova 5 wireless headsets for about 3 months now and i have 0 complaints about the headsets itself, absolutely perfect. My only complaint is the 2.4 GHz USBC connection piece that goes into the PC. I wish it was smaller like how you make them for mice and keyboards because due to its width i cant fit it in the back. If you guys were to make a seperate connection piece thats smaller/compact that would awesome. Please lmk if this makes sense.
do you have the wire that came with it
there's a USB - A to USB - C adapter that came with my nova 5
damnit i wish i stil had the box its at school, do you have picture please
id also like to slide in, that me and my girlfriend have been using the rival 700 and 710 mice since. I bought both of them in2020 and ive been winning csgo tournaments with it ever since and its wired. I love steelseries you guys are amazing. My whole setup is basically steelseries. Even your mouse pads are awesome
β€οΈ
get a USB extension or a usb adapter
they dont have to be UGREEN but these are just in my purchase history lol
smart, thankyou
i use a USB extension cable for my microphone
not necessarily because the original USB was too chunky but razer just sucks
but theyre pretty cool. sometimes ill unplug it and use it for other things.
ty
Bro that razer they ban me from their discord server cause i said fix my prob with my razer mice and they said wait and then ban me
it will match the color of your headset
you plug the 2.4ghz thing into the port on the right and then just plug it into your case or much preferred motherboard USB A
what do you think of using a rtx 5060 ti for a 1440p setup
Bit weak spec wise
It has 16 gigs so I should be fine for a little while
Respasted my cpu and tried to boot it and noe the dram light is on on my mobo. I have tried reseating it but itd still like that. Any ideas?
crisis solved, some dust got into the slots and it worked once i used a brush on them
should I be concerned
why is my computer beeping when it shuts down
probably indicates a hardware problem
Y ou should just swap out the cpu
Fr that pins get bend or break easily soo yeah you should be carefull and plus it isnt a lga cpu soo be extra care full you should not screw it up
Yeah its a ram issue or a psu
the pins aren't bent there's just a little thermal paste
and i already cleaned it off
Yeah well
Just swap out the ram you will be good to go
16gb cl16 ddr4
Or 32
its not the ram
its probably the IMC
but I don't know for sure
if my cpu is actually cooked then I might aswell just switch to am5
if you got mobo suggestions lmk , needs to be white
B650 asus tuf
Plus wifi
Or x670 asus tuf
With 7800x3d
X670 aours master
Or try b850
Hey so uh, Iβm looking to upgrade my cpu, anyone got some tips on what to look for? I can send specs of my pc rn if needed.
Tbh stock should be fine even on dodgy bX50s
Just need the current board
So itβs a ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 six core processor (thereβs some other stuff on the processor if you need it)
Just go the generic EOL platform CPU the 5800x3d
All it needs beforehand is a bios update
i dont like it
ok
I do gaming and do video editing, but not crazy professional video editing. Should I get the ryzen 9 7950x or the ryzen 9 7900x?
works. is totally fine. might be cheaper on other sites but amazon next day is cool. enjoy
I am gonna buy 7800x3d
just had a deal of 13700k
13700k >7800x3d 2k
should i buy it i mean selling for 240 dollar slightly used
I'm not buying intel
sure. do you how the previous owner used it? are they selling it because they completely cooked it by running it without updating their BIOS to one of the later microcode patches?
probably neither
but if it must be one of those 2 youd probably want to go for the 7950x. its just faster.
altho youll need a decent board
and a decent cooler
No its from a good shop keeper and plus they are giving warranty too
sure why not then
send a screenshot
What
I live dubai
Uae
Guys I think I should buy one and then sell mg combo 13700k plus h670 asus tuf and 16gb 3600 mhz cl 16 ram 256 gb nvme
