7600X3D costs a lot more than the 13600K and often doesnt perform any better
youll only benefit with it in games such as Rust or EFT
did you suddenly switch comparisons? the original point was about gaming, in which absolutely no CPU gets too hot to cool on any decent air cooler
the 7700X can currently be purchased for $280, and the 14600KF for $219. techpowerup shows that the 2 CPUs perform near identical on average at 1080p, and if youre planning on doing any multi core work then the 14600KF is going to gap your 7700x
nothing you replied to has any sources attached to them. when you say "their benchmarks?" you arent actually providing any sources. it typically isnt the job of the person requesting sources to provide the source, but rather the people making said claims
if you cant or wont provide sources to back up your claims, then youre not acting with the best intent and it makes you seem pretty untrustworthy
upgrade what CPU to what CPU though? a lot of people bring up the point of socket changes but its pretty easy to ignore that when youre not clarifying anything. if youre trying to upgrade from a 12600KF to a 14900KF, you can do that on the same socket on the motherboard you already own. a 7500F to a 9800X3D can also be done on the same socket/board. if youre trying to argue that you cannot upgrade your CPU on the same socket in 5 years, then thats a very silly point to make because BOTH sides will be on new sockets in 5 years.

one thing I will say is AM4 is evidence that they really only say it for marketing, all of the am4 boards pre 500 series suck massively to the point you'd just upgrade the board anyway with a new cpu
400 series you could probably get away with on a mid tier board

Hey Lennart, so I actually have the build proposed by @grave cipher aside from the RAM. I can tell you though that you're going to run into a lot of issues right off the bat. The first being the cooling.
- The 420mm AIO it incredibly big. The only case I fit mine into was the Corsair 7000D which is truly a massive case.
- Even though TJMAX is 100°C, you'll notice with other coolers that you'll get spiking that will enable TT
- I'd recommend a deepcool AIO if you're wanting something smaller.
- I also recommend getting yourself some PTM 7950 from modiy or Grizzley KryoSheet for thermal compound.
- The MSI board sucks and the cpu mount itself sucks. Replace it with the Thermalright CPU Contact Frame for LGA 1700
On the topic of the MSI board, be very careful with the bios updates which you MUST do unless you want to risk your CPU. I upgraded and skipped 3 versions. This bricked my CPU and I had to RMA it. Previously it was working perfectly fine.
Also, don't bother with 24GB RAM. Usually 24,48 are more expensive than 16,32. Go with a 6400 DDR5 DC RAM with Intel XMP ready. No need to get fancy.
I would also recommend the 14700K not the KF. The performance difference is not noticeable (Pic attached).
I've also attached my PC info just to prove that I am using that build.
I use the 14700k for my workstation with a quadro RTX 4000 but I also have a gaming PC I just built in my living room. It's running an AMD 9950X , 64GB DDR5 6400, MSI Nvidia RTX 4070ti Super. I also added a Asus ROG STRIX X870E-E so that I could use a GEN 5 nvme. This was not a cheap build but it runs games and whatever I put to it like a beast. Way better than intel.
Anyways, I hope this helps guide you on what you need. Feel free to DM me if you have more questions or need some additional help.

aio wasnt a final choice just the best one, LF3 360 is also fine. LF3 also comes with contact plate as standard, the board is fine? it has no issues, temps are fine as well. a bios update will not brick your cpu lol thats not how that works at all, 24Gb sticks are easier to run than 16, which is important for stability reasons , KF was cheaper.

I would go with AMD. Only issue with AMD at the moment though is the demand. Because of Intel's fail release of the 2nd gen ultra series, everyone is going AMD which AMD isn't able to keep up. So there is a very high demand at the moment.

manufacturers put procedures in place that aim to prevent damage to your cpu through heat. on the manufacturers product page for your specific cpu you can see the point in which youll begin to thermal throttle (TJMax)

literally any temperature up until the tjmax is perfectly fine
