Hello friends, I'm from Brazil, recently a curious case appeared to me, I didn't find anything similar on any Brazilian forum, but I'm in a conversation with a computer assembly professional, and my enthusiasm goes against his knowledge, he claims that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D with 105w TDP is incompatible with the B450M asrock steel legend, as the same motherboard only works with processors up to 65w, my research is all referenced on the website from the manufacturer

The motherboard has the latest version of the BIOS, compatible with the processor, my question is, would the processor turn on if it wasn't compatible? because the problem that brings us here is the RAM memory only works at 3000mhz on the motherboard, the memory is in 2 slots only, the 4 slots were tested, but the system is still unstable, restarting alone

While that board is definitely questionable quality, it'll power a 5700x3d with no issues

Especially if your use case is gaming, you'll only end up using about 60 - 70w

It would probably exceed 105w under maximum load but the board can handle it

As for officially, the board is rated to support 105w tdp chips.
Memory support does go up to 3600 - 4000 on that board with a 5000 series cpu

I have quite the serious problem, my CPU is overheating. I have had this setup for a few years, and the last time I touched it was this summer (some 6 months ago, when I clearned it completely). A week or two ago, the system suddenly started overheating... It has happened twice now, and I am not good enough at building computers to know what to do.

pretty easy checklist

is the thermal paste dry?
is the cooling good enough for the current conditions?
are the fans ramping up under load?
do I have it OC'd?
oh and the model of the CPU matters (some super old intel chips used thermal paste)

also, if you have never checked CPU temps until the other week, then theres always the possiblity that it was overheating the entire time and you just never noticed

I should mention that the overheating temp will vary from product stack to product stack, but the majority of intel cpus need to hit 100c and the majority of amd cpus is 95c for that then to be overheating

How are you measuring it? A lot of real world services can have fluctuations due to routing/load issues on their end

I can give an example I'm experiencing rn actually:

Xbox app for pc installing a game, 1gbps down on my end, I get fluctuations from 20mbps to 300 to 900 and anywhere in between

this can be a HDMI/Display Port Problem or the wrong cable or some Corrupt Files in windows or the GPU driver, Nvidia suffer alot from Display Output Problems there AMD did a better Job but problems can always happen.

the first thing you can do is to check the Cable and try another one, secound you can do is to buy the right cable because DP cable is not DP cable, it has to match the Transfer Rate of your Monitor and so on, same count for HDMI.

if nothing changes then try to reinstall the GPU driver and make a Clear Deinstall and install
