unless youre running quad 3090 set up any fans work
brand also means nothing
and unless your case is solid front youll have enough airflow for a pc to be alright
Has nothing to do with it. The i5 is an example i used. a mid tier pc with those specs dont make insane heates to run 6 fans.
Thats the point i pointed out pick any you like
The Brand is also important.. Customer experience waranty, reputation. + A LOT of people still run a solid front pc.
unless youre buying asus brand means nothing
If your specs are demanding it could decrease thermal throttling
no. you really do not need 6 fans unless you have a bunch of 3090
As i just mentioned. reputation
every brand has a sketchy reputation
you dont decrease thermal throttling. you either are throttling, or arent.
if you are, youve either got a bad case and a hot room, or your cooler is on wrong
lmao ngl i think ur dellusional
there are no flawless brands out there
i dont care what you think because i know im right
having more than 2 intake and 1 exhaust doesnt make much less of a difference compared to 6 intake 4 exhaust
as long as your case has decent flow and you room isnt hot youre fine with 3 fans
this made me stop reading your text
@sweet jasper Get on reddit read some forums you'll figure it out. Dont take recomendations from strangers xD do your own research
compared to a 4090 youll likely find the 3090 running hotter and using more power
lmfao okay then
why would any sane person use reddit of all places for fan research
something like gamersnexus, techpowerup or toms hardware are good places.
this shows airflow through a radiator which can be informative
im sorry that you dont know what youre talking about.
but just because you dont know, doesn't mean i dont know.
those fan recommendations that i had given were good choices
I am looking to build a PC and just went and put together a list, any thoughts? Would this somewhat work or is it just a bunch of electro scrap: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yZxFjH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL ATX Full Tower
What you using it for?
Gaming, coding, virtual machines, most likely some pentesting and graphics design
Most likely not, I will probably do that. I am a little bit out of date with the PC world, I just went and put together some stuff that I thought might work.
Do you have any other recommendations on what you would change?
I currently have a Fractal Design Case and I like how it looks, so I went with one I kind of know already. Case is not that important for me aslong as it fits, has good airflow and preferably at least 1 USB-C Port
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL ATX Full Tower
Thank you very much, I'll def. look into this
Cheaper CPU: (That's better for gaming in 90% of cases)
Better CPU Cooler: These CPU's get HOT and the first limit on them is temps, if you cool it more, you get more performance (Out the box with no overclock) (Personally I would go custom watercooling or AIO over air coolers for Ryzen but this is more expensive)
GPU: I don't trust Zotac, so changed it
Cheaper PSU: Same watts
I have a 7900x and it IDLES at 45-55c with a 360mm AIO, with higher than normal fan curves. they get very hot
I thought about maybe getting an AIO for the CPU, however from what I got they tend to be a bit louder in idle compared to air coolers and from what little research I did, the Dark Rock Elite or the Noctua NH-D15 should have enough cooling power to cool the CPU down. Installing an AIO is something I haven't done yet although I think I would manage, money is not really an issue with my build.
Is the cooling really that much bettter?
The case seems to come with 3 fans, do you think it would be necessary/worth it to install more? The mainboard seems to have pins for 1 more
Really hard to find graphs for 360AIO vs DH15, but 7950x, gaming, AIO is 70c, DH15 at 100% is 78c
Do you have any AIO you would recommend? I will probably make the decision about whether to use an AIO or a Cooler once I actually order parts.
Lian Li Galahad II Performance 360
Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 ARGB
Corsair iCUE H150i
More temp headroom you have with these CPU's, the better they will perform, as their target temp is max which will be the first CPU limiter, so cooler you can get it, higher it will perform
I see. I'll probably make it a decision between noise/performance then.
I am not sure if I need an XL case, the GPU seems to fit with a normal case aswell
erm
that list could be much cheaper
the 7800x3d also does not get hot
in fact, it is very easy to cool
the only am5 cpus that are "hot" are the 7900x and the 7950x
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Wphqt7
@chrome wren @last island
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL ATX Full Tower
could go even cheaper
but i didnt bother to change case, and kept full sized ATX board
custom water cooling typically never has much of an advantage, if any, over an aio
its very much an expensive aesthetic thing
its extremely enthusiast
hey my mic aint turning valume up on steel series
if you're aio shopping, you basically never need to look outside of thermalright.
in terms of noise normalised performance, a Core Matrix is the best. these are using stock fans.
Core Matrix > Frozen Edge > Frozen Magic Scenic V2 > Aqua Elite V3 > Frozen Prism > Frozen Notte
yes
i did
o yeah
CLX SET Gaming Desktop - Liquid Cooled Intel Core i9 13900KF 3GHz 24-Core Processor, 64GB DDR5 Memory, GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X Graphics, 2TB SSD, 6TB HDD, WiFi, Windows 11 Home 64-bit
how much is it
what
thats a prebuilt is it not?
2,589.99
it should be in usd
are you from the US? or did you convert it
convert pc
alright.
so that price means nothing to me
what is the price in your currency? @indigo kiln
MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps GDRR6 192-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fan Ampere OC Graphics Card
no
7k
us
it clearly isnt
then we aint on the right track
what country are you from? the us?
usa
alright.
whats your budget? and what are you using the pc for?
and do you have any parts already?
MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps GDRR6 192-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fan Ampere OC Graphics Card
no.
nvm
^
the 3060 is very bad value.
if you get it on ebay for cheap, sure. but you shouldnt consider buying it brand new
the 12gb of vram on it means literally nothing
i kniow
so why do you keep mentioning it?
idk
Hello Beloved Intel Community, You can call me Barry. I am a PC enthusiast, fascinated by the possibilities and everything surrounding the topic of Multi-GPU. I understand that this “trend” has lost some significance as GPU chips have become powerful standalone units. However, ever since the Arc was...
doesn't NVLink already do this
Why would anyone want an Arc GPU, biggest waste of money ever
I'd rather use my AMD iGPU than an Arc
arc gpus are great
granted if your budget is more than like
500 dollars
they dont even need to be considered
but theyre great
tbf, the newer ones could actually have much more use than the current ones
I need a pc expert here, friend bought a voltage regulator thats says 14 volts 120w on the box, call me crazy but i dont think he should plug his 600w power supply pc to that
Or maybe he could IDK
Its a koblenz er2250, it says desktop computer and other devices on the box, i just think theres a better safer option for him at roughly the same price
CyberPower CL2000VR 2000VA/1000W voltage regulator is the one ive had for a few years now and ive had no issues with it
Yeah, don't plug that in
Aight im forwarding this mssg rn, thx
Why do you need a voltage regulator in the first place
Shoddy electrical infrastructure and constant power outages as of the last 2 months in certain regions of Mexico
Better safe than sorry
I'd buy a UPS if that's the case
No officials have come forward to explain anything so idk why these have been happening
Will look it up
It's a Uninterruptible Power Supply, basically a battery backup and has voltage regulation, so the PC will stay on, even with a black out for a set period of time (Depending on the one you buy and power usage of the PC etc etc)
Gives you enough time to finish what you're doing, save any work and safely turn the PC off
Oooh i think i had one of those in 2008
It could last for 15 minutes and made beeps and screeching during those 15 or so mins
A small, modern one would keep a PC on for about 40 minutes, if it was using all 600W (Which in most cases, it's not using the full 600W)
Or you could get a large office sized one, which will keep it on for 1 hour 40 minutes, or enterprise one that would keep it on for 17 hours, but the bigger the capacity, the more it will cost
I think something nice and simple would work alright, im looking at one that i would consider cheap that should keep it on for 20 or so mins
I think i found basically the same one i used to have back then, im surprised Vorago is a brand that still exists
@lusty hinge Im getting the parts today yeah, and I know I'll have to format the ssd, but with the ram. Do I need to anything for it to work or is it just plug'n play
as long as the ram is in correctly it should just work
Oke
Well turns out my ram didn't come yet, but I'll torture my ol' hp compaq with ram installation
: D
Its smaller than I expected
I thought nvmes where the size of the package
It's SATA SSD's that are bigger
I want to get a new monitor but can't decide between the LG UltraGear 27GP95RP-B, 27" and the LG UltraGear 27GR93U-B, 27"
Any insight would be appreciated about which one to choose
Samsung Odyssey G4
Very nice
I have it
But don't decide on my dumb opinion
nope these guys are small and super fast
Bro, I am trying to decide between 2 4k 140 hz monitors and you recommend a full hd 240hz one
are they 4k oled?
4k is pretty mid outside of 4k oled types
so unless you really want 4k then id recommend 1440p ips/oled
im too lazy to search the models though lol
Its a 1440p oled 240hz
thats awesome
😎
Which one?
Because the only G4s I find online are full hd
Ah
Mines actually Ips not oled
@last island what country
Germany
Should be Ips dudee
do you want 4k?
My market is from Lithuania
If possible yes
that would be greatly appreciated
is the AW3225QF available?
Seems to be available however pretty expensive
Also could this be a monitor issue on one game? I play Warthunder and every time I get into a new match I get like a very saturated and different filter for like 10 seconds untill it goes into the default graphics
ehhh any worthwhile 4k monitors gonna be pretty costly
what are you using it for?
you could get a 4k ips.. although it isnt really too worth
do you have auto hdr on
sometimes its jank
Yea
Why? Isn't 4k still 4k, even if it isn't Oled=
Otherwise everything is bad without it
What would be some good wqhd monitors (or whatever is below 4k)?
if youre buying 4K you usually want all the features from it. visually, its not usually worth it compared to a 1440P resolution monitor unless youre buying a 4K OLED
its basically just a "tldr if you want 4k you want all the features"
But there is nothing bad about 4K IPS right, it's just that OLED is better?
no, it isnt necessarily bad
its just that its never really worthwhile
if youre gaming a 1440p oled/ips is usually more worthwhile than a 4k ips
I'll look into it
S2722DGM
hows this?
wait, wrong one
EX2710Q
should be a good price
1440p IPS
Price is not really the issue, If I am taking a wqhd Monitor I want it to at least be OLED
ah, 2 seconds then
27GR95QE-B
240hz, 0.03ms response time (if that even matters to you) and is 1440p oled
its still kinda costly at 650 euros but thats oled
OLED is kind of expensive, ngl. I was looking for something below 500€ and in that range as good as possible. If I spent above that, it's only going to be for 4k OLED
if you wanted a 4k oled, a "cheap" one is at like 1.3k euros, but its pretty large at 47 inches.
the asus pg42uq at 42 inches is 1.5k euros
what do you need the monitor for?
gaming?
LG UltraGear OLED 27GR95QL-B, League of Legends Edition, 26.5"
Sounds pretty interesting
Gaming, Coding, Watching Videos/Movies/Stuff, maybe some Video Editing. 4K OLED is probably overkill for that.
whats the price of that? it seems alright
Nevermind, I do NOT want a League of legends monitor
gaming? you should probably lean towards a 1440p display. what gpu do you have?
Right now a GTX 1660 super and an rtx 3060 Laptop, I am getting the Monitor together with a new PC with an RTX 4080 super
Lucky
I have a laptop that has a 4070 laptop
I think i heard that the laptop version is just an 80 but dumbed down no?
a 4080 super? awesome.
i also have one.. which is why im currently also in the market for a 4k monitor.
personally, id recommend something like this (G2724D) if its available and then maybe save towards a 4k oled
Saving is not the Problem, my theoretical budget for the entire PC is between 5-10K . It's just that I don't want to spent that much money on a monitor
you could get a 4k ips if you wish, but if you're choosing a 4k display you're likely in it for the visual clarity. with a 4k IPS, you lose out on the looks of an oled panel. a 4K oled will bring you much darker darks and much nicer colours
If u have 10k for pc and things just go with a good monitor
10k? wow. thats a lot of money. is this USD?
I'll probably go with this one, this is as far as I am willing to go prize wise, seems like a good compromise between resolution and OLED: https://geizhals.de/lg-ultragear-oled-27gr95qe-b-a2850560.html?hloc=at&hloc=de
Euro
I saved up money to be able to furnish a flat, but now I got one and it is projected to be much cheaper than expected
a monitor may seem silly to spend a lot on but if you buy one, youd understand. if you wish, you could try shopping for a 4K oled TV. they might be a bit cheaper, but theyll provide the same visuals. you could then use the TV to play at 4k on visually pleasing games and then a 1440p monitor for other games
looks awesome, seems alright
I'll probably get that one for now and use my current monitor as a 2nd one, and once I have moved in and saved up some money, I'll get a 4K OLED
that sounds like a good plan
you could always sell your current 1660 for a bit of extra cash if you wish
i hope you enjoy your new pc though, youll have no issue running at 1440p
I'll probably convert my old PC into a server and sell the 1660, unless I find a friend who I can give the enetire PC to for cheap
thats cool, using old hardware for new uses is always great
My Raspberry Pi is always overheating when I try to host a modded minecraft server on it 😉
haha, that pc should definitely do the job instead then
🇷🇸
This is most likely what I will purchase (a few items at a time if they're for sale): https://geizhals.de/wishlists/3915466
honestly isnt the worst. what do you need 64gb of ram for?
VMs
the NV2 is also complete ass
makes sense
really that bad?
I'll probably get a 1 TB Samsung 990 Pro then,
Probably not the best bang for the buck, but pretty reliable imo
I'd always go Samsung, WD Black or Firecuda or SSD's, just for their speeds, reliability and warranty
totally depends on market
usually samsung is just god no territory
wd isnt too bad
was this germany?
your ram market is... something
Most SSD's use samsung chips anyway
but not all are nearly anywhere near as expensive as samsung
samsung ssds are just stupid
you can get so much cheaper
sometimes 1tb samsung ssds cost more than 2tb ssds
But reliablity and warranty is worth it over some sketchy cheaper brand
who said sketchy
Your data can be important, if it is, storage isn't something you want to cheap out on
i also never said cheaping out
where are you buying from that has no warranty??
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
i didnt put the monitor in i got lazy
That SSD you put in is even slower than the kingston one
no it isnt
i can change it
but it isnt
just because it says pcie 4 doesnt mean it is pcie 4
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
changed ssd
I'm not buying from any of these brands
3500 read and 3000 write for the Lexar, kingston nv2 is basically the same
nv2 isnt the same
yet again, just because it says it is, doesnt mean it is
it got worse the more i looked at it
you just selected everything that isnt samsung. which is known to be insanely overpriced
There's 15 brands that are on PCPartPicker that I would choose from
But at the end of the day, I only buy the best of the best at the time, so
are they all perchance the brands id expect from prebuilts
samsung isnt even best of the best
you literally have SK Hynix de selected
do you even know who they are?
lmfao
they're on par, if not better than samsung and wd
yeah i realised right after i sent it lol
im not explicitly saying youre wrong. youre somewhat right. samsung make good drives
but they are absolutely not as good as theyre made out to be
and absolutely aren't worth the price
they even had the uhh
self bricking issue a while back iirc
I think this configuration is something I am happy with https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/6QjJKX,
cheaper alternatives dont always mean worse
looks great. case i only changed because i knew it was way cheaper. nothing wrong with that one.
how come you want that gpu?
nothing wrong with it
but its overpaying for the exact same thing
also its asus. but theyre fine for the EU
It's just one I selected, my current GPU is from Palit. I'll probably change it to the Palit one
fair enough
you can buy that one if you'd like
any 4080S works theyre all the same. its just that there is no reason to not choose the cheapest one
The first m.2 I ever bought is still at 100% health :)
Same for me, but they're also still in use which is why I canÄt just take them
I am still using the HDD I took out of my laptop I had for school 15 Years ago
epic
I've had this SSD for 5 and a half years, use it as a secondary SSD now though as I bought a faster one
I'm personally waiting for the new Japanese internet and atomic clocks in every PC and server
i should have bought this one though
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/RFQMqm
full list cuz mobile
Part List
4TB for sub £200
Japan beat the download speed record recently with 402 Tbps download
@chrome wren , how silly do you think a custom loop would like with an mATX board in a King 95?
lmfao really??
thats insane
Mine is 5 ish years old and at 93%
93%? unusable. send it my way and buy a new one
LOL
god you must be facing so many issues with 93% trust me thats a huge red flag
Any mATX board in a normal sized case looks goofy, so with a custom loop it would look extra goofy
I just hope ever PC and server has atomic clocks in the near future
power a pc with a bit of uranium
it would
personally i wouldnt notice
i get 5 ping wireless
5 ping
am i a droid
Heh
I think I'll keep it
last time i used that software i accidently downloaded the wrong one
In an ideal world, with fiber the whole way, with a server in Australia (With an atomic clock) and my PC (In the UK with an atomic clock) I would have less that 1ms ping
What software is that?
imagine my surprise when i opened it up and there was some anime girl speaking to me
crystal disk it looks
CrystalDiskInfo
fiber the whole way? ha. i was told my area would have fiber ages ago
if fiber means digging up the roads every month and blocking us in then yeah they succeeded
Can you imagine how good less than 1ms ping, from the other side of the planet would be though
oh, can't forget the shoddy job of patchwork
itd be insane
maybe i could finally get lobbies at 3am
I don't even get that to 1.1.1.1 reliably :D
i either have to play a single player game or suffer 200ms for a lobby
How fast webpages would load, you'd be able to play games with anyone in the world without having 300 ping
Your PC would be faster with an atomic clock too, as it wouldn't be waiting on processes as much
what a nerd. youve named your user?
i think mine is still just
new user
Facebook devs have made a working atomic clock, that is the size of a single slot GPU
It just needs to be standardized
It works so
It's microsoft account based
but yes I do :D
I named my user and my PC
crazy
i name my pc
ill check if my user is named now
guess im a nerd too
lisqu
so awesome
This Laptop is like 2 years old :(, I think the drive does not like Heat
Wish it was this for none local xD
With the new download speed record, you could download GTA V in 0.00214 seconds :O
100 times faster than it is for me to connect to an Australian server xD
FiveM
Steam
Also had multiple rockstar accounts
And I majority played on xbox for the first like 5 years it was out.
way too much
Also played on Xbox for like 2/3 years before playing it on PC and also have multiple Epic Games accounts xD
I can't figure out how much time I spent on GTA on Xbox :(
Across steam, xbox and epic games I've spent well over 200 days in Rocket League xD
its.. somewhere
i checked it a while ago for my fortnite hours lol
It shows on some games, but not all
thats weird
It shows on GTA online and GTAV xbox series edition, but doesn't show for Xbox One edition
very weird
😅
I did play through the story on Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well but I doubt it adds very many hours 😅
thats how much play time a sane person has
I have 10k+ hours in Rocket League if I combined my Xbox accounts and pc together lol. Bad addiction
thats insane
No thank you xD my 5k/6K ish combined is 5/6k ish too much lol
Save yourself while you can
Awful game that went downhill once EpicGames bought it
Is it really that bad tho?
I haven't played it but I've had the pleasure of working on the esports side of it
gameplay is basically the same afaik lol
but they ruined everything else
it is complete ass
It's asss
Servers are awful now, they removed trading, full of smurfs because they made it free to play so everyone has 20 accounts, new bugs every single update, which is very few other than cosmetics which are ridiculously priced now, no communication from them at all, and just loads of issues
I have no problem with you all bashing rl but let's keep the non pc related convos elsewhere
what would be a decent reliable and fast budget m.2
what country
what size
Turkey. Preferably more than 250gb if thats what u meant
choose whatever one youd like from these. preferably cheapest:
vp4300 lite, vi5000, mp44l, fanxiang s550, silicon power a60, adata legend 800, xg7000
my 4080S doesn't have any nice compatible waterblocks
so now i cant decide if i should wait for 50 series and see how they look/perform
or if i just get another XTX/80S
I'm waiting for 5000 series
epic
i knew ages ago when i bought this card
i just had a slight feeling i should pay the extra £40 for the other one
its fine though
ill wait for 50 series and then see what the cheapest 80/90 is and their blocks
if not ill get a cheap 4090
I own a headset and there are many problems with Arctis Pro + GameDAC shooter games
Is there anyone to help me!
what even are the problems
He has no enemies assigned to him when you are saved + he will see a lot of things
- The sound is not accurate at all. I regret this experience
Hi there, i would like to get some thoughts on the AIO cooler radiator position. I have it positioned on same side of motherboard with tubes on top, the top of radiator is higher then the pump, the pump sits lower. It wont damage the pump with tubes on top of radiator will it?
Is this AIO cooler positioning ok?
I dont get any issues, no overheating, everything works well
It's a good thing to have the rad higher than the pump, any bubbles will get trapped in the top of the rad instead of in the pump
Yes, thats how it is now. Thanks for confirming
sonar wont let me drag and drop my audio sources to different boxes
In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:
-
Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output
-
Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.
If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.
nice
English only here
@lusty hinge thoughts about the lf3?
the aio? its alright
and the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360 Sub-Zero EVO
meh
I may of f'ed up
I didn't realise I needed two ram for my laptop
And I bought one 32 gig stick... Uhhhhhh 🤦
Will one ram do for the time being or is it better to buy another one and wait
Should work just fine. You'll only lose a little performance since you won't have be using dual channel
Ok thanks Lennart. I'll probably buy a second one then. I'll have 64gb of ram then XP
That should definitely be enough 😅
lets say I'm looking forward for something similar like this one
lennart already answered but yes its fine. you just miss out on the dual channel speeds
aqua elite v3 or frozen prism
theyre good aios
nice and affordable ones too
also have unique stuff like the ryujin iii or the one I've mentioned
most thermalright aios are great
iirc these are unavailable in the US unless you import but they also product LCD AIOs called the Frozen Vision and the Warframe
i personally use the frozen vision
thats the one. it has an LCD front on it similar to the NZXT KRAKEN
except this one doesn't suck lol
iirc Amazon has it cheaper
I'll buy another one
Its not like I can't afford it
yeah, make sure you buy the same stick
mixing and matching ram is a very fun adventure (it doesn't work)
Stop changing ur pfp its confusing. Also Toradora fire
lmfao, i change my pfp a lot more often in other servers
Lol
easily 6 times a day
haha yeah, its fun to change it up though
Yea

Ima dm ya a cat photo if you don't mind. I have well over 100 of them
it sucks when it runs out. but christ its not worth the money it costs
feel free to do so
ah wait
D:
i wish it had a fan like the ryujin 3
on the radiator?
just change the fans
you dont have to use the fans it comes with
Im probably going to return it and buy two 16gigs
Hmmm
Would a smart tv benefit from the ram stick
Probably not because i might have soldered ram
what are you using the laptop for? honestly you might not even care for 2 sticks
Gaming for the most part
awesome
nes, i mean if it would it is nice but if not no problem for me
yes its fine. you can buy seperate fans and switch them out
Plus I'll save 20 quid
are you buying 2 of these?
Yea
i cant remember how laptop ddr5 chips are. cl46 would be considered rocky for an average 32gb ddr5 pc
but it seems fine
Or I can get 4800mhz
That doesn't have cl46
Oh... And the 32gig i got has cl46
I ment a fan like on the radiator like the ryujin 3 that is cooling the mainboard,
that is literally what i said
those 3 fans?
those 3 fans... that are.. on the radiator??
nah its fine. laptop ddr5 is in the 40-46 range
i had to double check it thats all
its all good
that fan on the ryujin 3 changes nothing
its just there to make it cost more than anything else
Ah oke
yeah....i know it's expensive
should i get an air cooler or a liquid cooler for a 12900k
liquid
or if you find and have enough space for a powerful air cooler than air
I've been using a Noctua air cooler with my i9-9900k and it's been fantastic
??
a decent dual tower air cooler would work
the real question is why is he getting a 12900k
i guess since the newest showed up some issues.. I mean that is for me the case.
what
I don't want to buy the newest intel cpus pecause I heard that they have big issues. that kept me away from buying them or go for them. and what i ment is that maybe he thought the same
@lusty hinge what could this sound be 💀
lmfao i love that it sounds like it's just some little guy in there
its likely coil whine or something
what were you doing when taking this video
All good
What is coil whine?
the coils inside components make noise
Also I set up fan curves but they’re pretty basic
eh, its fine. fan curves dont have to be fancy
i have mine just a straight flat line at 43%
seems alright
Is there anything that can be done about the coil whine
nope
fair enough
if anything an aio is more complicated
could easily be louder, it can be more difficult to install, you have to monitor curves based on coolant temp etc etc
I never did that 😅
do you have any HDDs
Yes I have one
I haven't used my PC a ton since I put the fans in honestly so I don't recall if this issue existed before today, it may have without me noticing
could be that
sounds similar to weird hdd noises ive heard before
That's good, it's just kinda annoying lol
How am I supposed to record my voiceovers now (not that I do much of that these days)
Sonar does have noise cancellation ig
I'm trying to identify the source but I can't tell
yeah, it can be annoying
if it is actually coil whine... the quicker you get used to it the better.
weird
oh well
doesnt sound like anything concerning
you could try unplugging your HDD for a bit and running it without
making sure you turn your pc off beforehand..
😭
ever heard of the dunning krueger effect?
lmfao thats not yours is it
thats a fan running at higher speeds on a cooler which hasn't been tightened properly
Is there a difference between these too? Or should I just get the cheaper one
mp44l is better
mp33 uses rubbish internals
Okay thanks
I found the Ryzen 5 5500 for $88 should I get it over the Ryzen 5 7600?
no
whats your country, budget and use case
i assume US from the 102 dollar mp44l
Yeah US, under $1000 I’ll be able to buy better stuff later, mostly for gaming
when are you buying it
within a week?
theres new cpus literally end of month and 50 series is supposed to release soonish
so markets gonna change if you arent buying soon
Yes this week hopefully
awesome
So that means that prices are gonna drop?
meh maybe
probably not
usually 6 months later
prices will just fluctuate
are you fine with an mATX board
Is that bad?
like that
literally just smaller
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
you can get a bigger board for just $3 anyway if youd like
b650 eagle ax
Tysm 🙏🏿
no problem
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DbYDYN
this is the alternative board lol
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
itd look nicer in the case ig but its literally just personal preference
the actual difference between an mATX and ATX board is very negligible
you could also get rgb if youd like
What about monitor keyboard and mouse?
i am not so talented at that stuff
do you have a seperate budget for them
or do you need them in 1000usd
Yeah
ah awesome
?
what ones
keyboard?
Nah the monitors that curve
ah
Like the ultra wide ones
the vx2428 is a good monitor
keyboard and mouse choose whatever you like
Alright gotcha 👍🏿

can anyone help me with what might be wrong with pc.
mobo has speaker not LEDs. isn’t making any sound (has went off before when gpu was not plugged into power but was in the pcie slot)
just switched all components into new case. pc switches on as soon as power supply is connected. no display. it will power back down when holding power button but will turn itself back on after 5-10 seconds.
all fans have power but no post. usb does not have power (keyboard usually lights up after post, no response at all) fans will maintain a constant, normal rate of speed (when plugging fan into pump it spins up to max speed so fan is getting some sort of signal for speed)
cmos reset didn’t work (jumper from 1-2 to 2-3)
everything was working perfectly fine prior to case swap. all components were bought brand new. tried taking it apart and starting over again but no dice
could be many things
easiest method
2 seconds
send a photo of the centre of your motherboard, 24 pin power connector from the side, gpu power connectors from the top down, powersw cables in front header and the cpu power cable
alright hold on a sec
front io cables (powersw is tucked away on the side)
powersw at board
24pin
mobo
and gpu connector
wait and cpu is coming
weird, nothing noticeably bust or anything
if you plug them all in, are they in securely with no gaps?
dont see anything wrong with them either
i even found the video hp put out showing how to replace all the components, so i had found a guide for making sure everything went back together correctly
but weird enough i’ve had the mobo speaker go off when oc the ram or once a long time ago after forgetting to plug back in gpu power
do you use a discrete graphics card?
but nothing at all no beep or tone
or your cpus igpu
when you plug it in, how are the connectors?
snug, flush
yes seated and tab clicked
rn it’s out the board just because i need a a new support but it’s had support in the old case so nothing should be bent or suffering from sag damage either
weird. what about display cable? are you using hdmi or display port?
this is quite literally the first problem this thing has ever caused me, about a year and a half long
tried both
i know which one the system recognizes as the main monitor as well so i know it’s not some weird second or third monitor strangeness
yes and tried removing sticks and entirely different sticks as well
yeah i did think it looked right
did you reinstall that cooler? or did you leave it on for the case swap
reinstall but it wouldn’t be the first time because i’ve changed the thermal paste before
i did not, the paste on it wasn’t very old
ah thats fine then
cpu never left the slot either
wouldnt be the cause of the issue unless there was no paste at all
cooler is on the mount properly?
securely fastened?
yes and not over tightened either, just until it starts to get tight
same, this is very weird.
this makes no sense
i dont see what it could be
i only can think mobo. i shorted something or broke a pin somewhere i can’t find
i had a grounding strap but could’ve done it some other way
do you have a computer store near you? micro center or a local repair shop or anything?
it doesn’t even get to the bios or anything at all. i’ve even tried running it without the boot drive
might be worth getting them to check it as theyll have other parts they could test with
yeah i tried to test the gpu with my cousin but he doesn’t have the right power connectors (he has rtx 4080 and gtx 1080, which both have different cables)
there is a shop down the road
i was just hoping i was missing some elusive step in the building process 😭
no it doesnt seem it
i dont see any broken capacitors or anything
no connectors are visually damaged
everything looks and sounds like it should work
well at least i didn’t make some stupid mistake plugging something into the wrong slot or something
i appreciate the help. i will take it to the shop in the morning
thankfully i am off of work
Nah dw
My PC doesn’t have nearly that much RGB
the shop down the road is closed until the 14th
order from Amazon
i’m fairly confident at this point it’s either the mobo or power supply so i went and got a b760-p and thermal take 700W
context
awesome
i think he assumed you were buying something from a shop
it’s definitely the mobo. new psu didn’t change anything. waiting for the mobo to be ready for pick up
thanks for the help tho i’m definitely glad to have the new mobo anyways
ah that sucks. at least we know the issue
hi #💻-building-a-pc my bro want to build gaming pc for max: 965 dollars. Can you recomend a parts? Thanks
no
what country
So it’s bad?
Damn
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
CPU cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI Micro-ATX AM5
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5-5200
Storage: TEAMGROUP MP44L 2TB SLC
Graphics Card: XFX Speedster SWFT210 Radeon RX 6650XT
Case: GAMDIAS ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply: EVGA 600 W1 80+ WHITE 600W
How about this?
But everything else is good?
b650 eagle ax is cheaper
For the motherboard?
Bruh
whats your budget
Anything that’s cheap 😭
I have a build alr but my parents say that it’s too expensive (it’s around $1000)
So anything under $800 that can run Elden ring well is good in my book
hows $870
800 is doable though
That’s actually perfect thank you
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6800, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
could get a cheaper psu but i mean
its like 5 dollars more for 12vhpwr + 750w
good for future upgrades
Nice
Is there a difference between the both of the intels? And also is there an alternative video card that’s on Amazon?
get a 12400f
also yes
2 seconds
are you sure that one isnt available
just search "RX 6800" on amazon
then show me
My fault there is idk why it didn’t show me
all good
Ok so is all
Of this good?
yes
thats probably the best youll get at that price point
Alright thanks again 🙏🏿
no problem
Building it is gonna be easy too right?
Nice
What’s this sound lol @lusty hinge
Oh lovely, I started a game and now the coil whine is back
Wow the coil whine is already annoying I might have to open my PC up soon
If it is coming from my GPU this is an excuse to buy a new one
it’s finally back together in the new case. i’m obsessed
and it is posting! def mobo, and this new one fills out the case so much better apart from the half assed cable management
Coil whine is very annoying if ur pc is close to you.. but it doesnt effect performance. you can cap your fps to lower the coil whine or undervolt ur gpu.
Sad thing is most countries they dont accept rma for coil whine issues
buying a new one sure. returning it? you may be able to... but its a gamble. you could easily get one back with worse
oh, lucid already replied.
it is completely just noise
i had a PSU before that would emit crazy levels of coil whine
just got used to it
it was a board issue?
thats epic, glad youve got it working. it looks awesome
its very weird that case swapping it killed your motherboard
No way they’d let me return this I bought it in probably 2017
no chance then
I really only hear the cool whine when I’m not playing a game but I’m not always on a game yk
a coil whine flare up after 7 years is impressive but makes sense
I mean I never had the issue until I put the fans in and then it cropped up not long after
I also wasn’t hearing it initially when using my PC yesterday but I think it started when I launched a game so it probably is from the GPU
or psu 🤷♂️
I’ll find out this weekend if I’m up for it
I don’t use my PC all that often any more but I did just buy some new games
i'm from Poland but i asking for dollars
@lusty hinge BUT if you can give me parts in PLN i will be grateful
i dont want to know what it is in dollars if youre not from the US
whats your budget in your local currency
If someone can @ one of the admins that would be great, for some reason on sonar it recoginzes my new headset(steel series arctis nova 1) as a usb audio device even tho it uses cables. I have been having issues and hearing slight static sounds when playing music on spotify and watching youtube videos. If anyone knows how to fix this please lmk asap no rocky
@steep dome
i asked for your budget
PLN is a currency
what's your budget
okie dokie
so you do some research?
yes i will
and
ok so 4500 pln?
you can do 3800 if you want
no
ill take a look at a list later
ive got to take something back to a shop in a moment
can you guys rate my new setup? https://www.x-kom.pl/lista/cd67h8mey
good i personal prefer lexar 2tb is not expensive
thanks!

How can I put windows on my pc if I don’t have to buy it?
its near perfect yeah
How would that work?
you dont buy a 3060 brand new
a usb?
So I just put windows on a usb?
theres a few changes
yes you use the windows media creation tool
if you have a laptop or something use that
Dang it’s that easy
change the ssd to one of these:
xg7000, vi5000, mp44l, vp4300 Lite
yes
then you just plug that new usb into your pc you need to install windows on
itll automatically pick it up
its important you use this link
its an automatic download so if you pick up a malicious version you could very easily get brick components or malware such as trackers
Alright
Anyone got suggestions for a good/cheap router and NIC that does 2.5G?
its cheaper and performs exactly the same
exact same as this one
just change the gpu
no problem
sorry about not helping, i got caught up

looks alright yeah
endorfy seems like a polish brand
from my very quick search its alright
their PSU im not 100% on, but theyre quality enough to not blow up which is probably the important thing.
@obtuse hedge spoke to you a while back about your eevee figure lol.
im very interested in your pc specs. could you send a list?
sorry if this is outgoing lol, just a tech nerd here 🤓
model specific would be ideal
When I have time, I absolutely can!
thats great, thank you!
yeah its especially strange since I didn't even have to reinstall windows on the new board. everything worked right away. just had to install msi drivers
i thought maybe OS might not play well when swapping boards but it was fine
thats so weird

i would recommend a fresh os install if youd like, windows may like it more. however it doesnt really seem necessary in this case
but its always better to do so if you care enough for it
but yeah thats weird
lmfao board just killed itself for no reason
I probably will sometime soon. I'm considering linux because I need to learn it for cybersec
linux mention
😎😎
had a debate with some guy over linux for like an hour in vc the other day
its awesome
idk the first thing about linux other than the basic command line stuff
but i know linux users will live and die by linux
i used to do security sims on linux using data fed through splunk. we would remote in to the server the director had and it was cool becuase anything you did in your own sim could affect other's sims like if it was a real company
So you might've gotten an alert that someone's password expired, and if an operator sent through a force password reset it would change in everyone else's sim saying that the password had been changed and did not need to be reset anymore
thats epic
final pics then i’ll stop oversharing
whoa, looks epic. thats that musetex one right? the case.
That's a sick setup
feel free to share in #1059414196858662923

you could pick up a cheap pack of TL-C12 white if youd like to fill in the remainder
yes it’s musetex. lowkey thought it was gonna NZXT on it but musetex sounds cooler
yeah, i was looking at that case earlier. its great value
yesh, those fans are like 13 dollars for a 3 pack iirc
$60 is awesome. so cheap!
i buy a lot of stuff from open box auction. sometimes you end up with damaged stuff but most of it is minor damage or no damage at all. overall it’s way cheaper
i think i paid $80 for the Acer 1440p 144hz and it was in perfect condition
thats awesome
thats epic
$70 monitor light for $5 plus tax and fees. original box
i could do with a monitor light
