Getting 180 FPS on Streets in 4K is a pretty good feeling.. an extra 10-15ms of latency, not so much... Nonetheless, it was cool to test and really cool of AMD to allow us a preview of the developments they're working on. Check out my https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYaeRxhLbnoHD-upCUZwC9_allBve7q5R playlist to see more test of AMD's Flui...
dont think youre a snob or anything, if you play mostly tarkov then you should buy the things that help with just that.
sorry if you already said that, but what resolution are you planning to play on?
1080p. I have a 1440p monitor, but it’s strictly used for color
Would it be better to play 16gb ram at 3600mhz or 32gb of ram at the windows default ram speed since im mixing ram
if you're mixing ram, it will default to the lowest frequency and timings available
thats what i ment by windows default speed
That does not exist. Depends on the sticks installed
can someone help me find a good pc off of amazon for 1k to 1.2k plz by a good brand? my pc is trash.
Do you need 32gb?
found 512 ram in my over 20 yeahrs old Computer. They have ddr1
7800 xt and a 7800x3d a decent pair for 1440p gaming?
waiting for games to come on pc but currently playing d4, baldurs gate 3, rdr2, overwatch
Thank you Berry
is a rx6800 good?
Could anyone be a good sport and help a brother out idk anything about pcs building wise I want a gaming pc that can run mw3 smooth at 200 fps if possible anyone think they can help out with that?
What's your budget?
I don't have one yet tryna how much they cost first
I'd suggest to think about how much you want to spend tbh
Because I got some builds
Just depends on what you wanna spend
Also, which country?
I'm going off the assumption you're US
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
This is a good build
Maybe upgrade the PSU to a 750 or 850
Shouldn't add too much
Actually lemme do that rq
Yes USA I really don't have a budget I'm willing to spend whatever I gotta do to run a smooth mw3 game
If you literally want all the frames ever that exist rn
7800X3D and a 4090 build, but that's gonna cost you a lotta monry
Money
I'd suggest this tho
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
It's around 1.6k USD
And it should run a lot of things really well
Change the case if you want, it's a preferred one for me
If you have questions I'll answer tomorrow
I need eepies
Gn
@weary flame awesome really appreciate it thank you happy Thanksgiving
You too man, you too
Question. Worth the price tag or no? https://a.co/d/1zplre6
T-FORCE VULCAN Z DDR4 gaming memory has been tested rigorously by the T-FORCE laboratory. Every overclocking memory is tested for complete compatibility and stability. This offers gamers a DDR4 memory with excellent quality, optimal performance, stability and compatibility. Gamers are able to ful...
(On my phone, the link is from the Amazon app is why it looks weird.)
I don't want that specifically, I'm just looking for upgrades for my rig because I'm gonna be upgrading my PC when I do a case swap
short version, the ass that designed the current case made it basically impossible to expand the internal storage because the HDD enclosure is less than an inch from contacting the SATA ports on the motherboard.
Like I can't even swap out the one that's in there for one of the multi-SATA connector cables.
Not without pulling the motherboard.
They're JUST far enough apart to not cause a short but close enough together that not even right angle SATA connectors will fit.
And I do mean that, I tried.
What's your setup?
Yeqh
Can I post a picture of two monitors here and so y’all can tell which is better?
Give the names
Gigabyte G27Q 27.0" 2560 x 1440 144 Hz Monitor or the HyperX Armada 27" 2K QHD (2560 x 1440) 165Hz Gaming Monitor or the AsRock phantom pg27f15rs1a 27” 1920 x 1080 240hz
Do you want resolution or frames?
What was the Resolution at for this build
Good morning 🙏 btw
Tbh I honestly don’t know. This is my first build and my buddy set it all up for me but I have just seen these other monitors and didn’t know if I should stick with the gigabyte or go with one of the other two
That's 4k right?
@weary flame can we get it to do 4k 200 fps?
Lmao which game?
@weary flame mw3
Me lol I play Hell of ranked play
CS2?
And regardless, it's not that unreachable anymor
That depends highly on the game
At 4K Extreme, MW3 hits 115 FPS on a 7900xtx lol
@weary flame what about 4k at 16 fps comfortably
@weary flame oh sweet 😋
Wow, that sucks! What case are you replacing it with?
Apologies for the delay, I work night shift so I was asleep for a while.
I'm thinking of the Corsair 4000D
Um... @crimson scroll Pretty sure that doesn't go here ^
thanks
No problem 🙂
Hey guys, would you say this monitor is worth getting for 100$ ? 😀never had a monitor before as I’m a laptop gamer, so I wouldn’t know anything about them
Considering it has a 1-star rating I'd stay tf away from that.
What's your price range & target specs?
A 1-star with one review. Not exactly a reliable metric.
Yeah it's not the worst you can get for the price tbh
Oh def not, normal price is 190
Lmao
Tha tis not a great price
Mabye aim for an aoc monitor if you Can find that with around 144 hz
hi will 240 hz monitor run a pc with Nvidia geforce 3050?
ti will run, but you probably won't reach 240 fps unless you play like, CS2
Question, is there a good gaming monitor 144hz that is pretty big and is under 250?
Under 250USD?
And yes
I got mine for under 250 euro and it's a charm
Nice brightness too
if you live on US and have a microcenter close this a nice deal https://www.microcenter.com/product/669806/lg-27gq50f-b-ultragear-27-full-hd-(1920-x-1080)-165hz-gaming-monitor
Nope, germany
Can you tell the name please?
Oh one second
HP OMEN 27q
But idk if you can get it
Lemme find another one
Btw, I assume 1080p?
Oh, and with out without curve?
Sure but its not usual that youll be hitting 240 with a 3050 so Id say overkill
a 144 would do just fine
Easily for 1080 not so easy for 1440
1080
Yeah you should be good for 250 usd 144 and 1080
immersion
The curve doesn't really matter that much
This one isn't bad
and the 7800 xt has been acquired
Nice
Hope you have fun with it
I suggest to update drivers btw
You can get them from the AMD site
I'll get the link
Hey, if I want to connect a monitor to a laptop and my laptop doesn’t have the display port connection, would a HDMI to DP adapter do the job?
Can’t connect to hdmi because apparently the monitor doesn’t connect to dedicated GPU on my laptop if connected by hdmi
Like this for example
I’m open for suggestions on how to connect the monitor so I can get most of the performance out of it 😀
The convertor won't do it's job, as you will still plug in hdmi
You need to change the settings so that it recognises the dGPU and uses it instead of the iGPU, I, however, don't have experience with that
@pulsar fossil hey man, thought you'd like tho know lmao
Thanks
Will a 3060ti and a ryzen 5 be able to handle 1080p gaming and streaming at about 160fps all at the same time
What ryzen 5
Youll have a weak cpu bottleneck
Maybe you can get 5900x?
But i think if you run medium to high on somegames youll get 160fps
Depends on the settings you have
While the 3060ti will handle a lot of the streaming with Nvenc, I cannot say how much frames you get on an unspecified game
It should be fine to strea tho, but if you want a drop in upgrade, the 5800X3Dexists, and should currently be on sale
You guys have experience with the 3060 ti and 1440 gaming?
yooo what like the best 240 hz I play fortnite and I need it for performenc my buget is around 200-400$
What do you guys think this setups worth now?
More so 1080p tbh
Try a Radeon 6800 or 6750xt
Both should be just under 400
Will kill anything 1440p, 1080p even more likely
I think ti should reach 240 in Fortnite on 1440p too, but don't quote me on that
Should for 1080p tho
Price?
Yeah I bought the pc about 2 years ago I think might sell it just didn’t know what to expect to be honest
@weary flame
You don't need to ping me
And
It depends on quality of the parts tbh
Around 450-500 for the main components
Then the rest adds, idk, 100-200?
Maybe 300
Sorry about that and ok thank you
Np just saying
I wanna say
Low estimate 800, but should be able to sell for 1k
Do make sure you clean the OS up etc
Sounds perfect I don’t know if I gonna go through with it just in a big dry spell with everything and thanks a lot
Np
PC is on the fritz, had this rig for about half a decade now, and most of the parts are older than that - the oldest being my wifi chip which is nearly a decade old.
I am mainly going with Intel/Nvidia here, anyone got any good suggestions for a budget under $2000?
There’s quite a few options but you’d get much better value going team red all the way through
In the CPU space alone Intel isn’t competitive anymore. Not if buying new. They get bent over a table by AMD
If you really want RTX Nvidia wins, but normal gaming performance AMD beats all of Nvidia stuff while being cheaper.
With the exception of the 4090. But that card is literally your entire budget
@noble oak if you’d like I can spec a build
Oh wow! I appreciate it!
So currently here's what I'm running (old specs, ik)
- Intel i7-5820K (3.30 GHz) CPU
- 64 GB DDR4 (all 8 dimm slots filled with Corsair Ballistix)
- Corsair 1300HW/HX PSU
- Nvidia 3060 RTX
- 2 TD drives - Seagate SSD and HDD
- Intel AC-7260 M.2 Dual-Band Wifi card (unfortunately dying a slow death, card is now unstable and barely works, dies under heavy load)
- GIGABYTE-X99-SLI-CF Motherboard
Most of these parts are roughly from between 2016-2018, the oldest part being the wifi chip that's at least a decade old from around 2010 or so according to Google
And yes, this is for gaming. I mostly play GTA V, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 and VRChat nowadays
Absolutely, I custom built mine in my college years so I'm okay building my own!
I don't do prebuilts, those are for rookies or new PC buyers
Unless you are getting the 4090 specifically, or care about RTX, AMD > Nvidia and AMD is cheaper
7950X will eat the budget.
5800X3D can still be had for cheap now days and is still better than everything Intel has
7900XTX > 4080 in price and performance
Unless he cares about RT
@noble oak do you care about RT? Only 1 of the games you listed has it
It is but we can at least be honest with him about what’s better at what
I'm fine with an AMD CPU as long as it doesn't lead to a ton of compatibility issues
I know back in the day AMD CPUs were like a burden to bare, TONS of issues with games and software
But now
I'm not sure if that's any different or has changed
It's been a decade
You'd think people would give AMD more of an eye.
None of that applies today however
Not really caring about RT, I don't care for graphics a super ton.
This is the era of Ryzen. Not the bulldozer era
If you don’t care about graphics, then a 7800XD for all your older games that are CPU bound, pickup a good RDNA 2 card like the 6800XT or 6900XT for sub $500, and use the rest on SSD space/ram
And have extra cash to save
Just cause you have a budget of 2K doesn’t mean you need to use it all :p
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800 XT
Ta da
Only $1375
RDNA2 still holds up really well today. Especially when you get one on a big sale
With his games he will be more cpu bound than anything else. So this gives him max CPU, with enough GPU for his needs without going overboard
And GPU is easy to swap later if wanted
Very overkill
Better off at 32GB of ram with a Lowe latency
Ryzen prefers fast ram
AMD GPU? ...I guess, although that means I can't readily use it for AI processing with tensorcores like with an Nvidia card, though it's mostly just for gags at the moment
Only until the new API that does the same thing for AMD stuff finally matures. But it’s up to third parties to support it
That’s concerning. Cause higher end RDNA2 bends the 2080Ti over easily
My 6800XT easily beats the brakes off a 2080 Ti
Are you ready?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Here you go
I’d do a Corsair or SK Hynix over the Samsung drive
Samsung this generation is a little
Volatile
i would cut some corners in order to upgrade the 7800xt to a 7900xt
potentially swap the CPU to a 7600 and swap the SSD and CPU cooler
it all depends on needs of the person building
Further, it's easier to swap GPU's than CPU's
And quite honestly, while there is budget for a 7900XT already, the price diff isn't always worth it
Like, this, in USD, should be around, 1.6-1.7k?
A 7900XT will bring it to around 2 I wanna say, I haven't looked at 7900XT pricing
Regardless, 500 or so for a 7800XT is really good for the current market
it's the best gaming CPU currently on the market
For value, for performance etc
but like i said it all depends on the user and priorities
ofcourse the CPU is the best gaming CPU currently available
but a 7600 with a 7900xt gives more fps then a 7800x3d with a 7800xt and thats why i said a few times already... it depends on thepersons interest.. if FPS is all that matters then its a no brainer to go with the 7900xt
Max FPS is far from it
And I don't think it does....?
Like scaling exists
And that's why a 7800X3D does so much better
difference between a 7800xt and a 7900xt is 30fps
in a 15 game benchmark
on 1440p
1 Average FPS
2 settings that they use
3 not that relevant as 1080p is still the majority of gaming
Those 5 game benchmarks are meant to be comperative between each other, not much more
Regardless
Even if it is 30FPS
That makes it sound less weorth it
Remember
The guy who’s looking for a build already listed his game list
Earlier
It’s mostly older games that are heavily CPU bound
So the 7800X3D makes a much bigger improvement for him
Also, a 6950XT can be had for $500 when found on sale
And a 6950XT beats a 7800XT
Mainly on sale, but more so second hand
And I don't like suggesting it unless I know the person is good enough at this stuff
Don't need liquid
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It has enough place
and it just sorta works
And it's cooler regardless
I forgot to put the cooler disclaimer rq
more about liquid needing maintance and after 3-4 years at MOST potnetially being a point of failure
running a 7950X3D with a Peerless Assassin 120 no issue
helo, im planning to pair a rtx 4070ti with an intel i5-14600k
are there any suggestions
Get a 7800X3D perhaps
For the rest not really
i'd say the 4070Ti is the worst RTX40 that you can buy, if looking the bang4buck.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
anything nividia this generation is terrible bang for buck
unless you can get a 3000 series for a cheap sale
30 series isn't this generation?
Does Arctis Nova 7 support 7.1 surround sound?
So far I know yes, but we have another channel for that
leventarse
thats... my point
Then don't say "unless"
Hi, I want to upgrade my current budget build: https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/jb6CDZ
Should I keep with the current gen until the next one comes out and get a 5 5600 or upgrade to AM5 rn. The prices for mobo are still high in my country. (Avg 200 euros)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 3 3100, GeForce RTX 2060, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
Waht do you guys think
rtx 4090
32 gb 6000mhz ram
7950x3e
With corsair i100 watercooling
1500w power supply
Do you need production?
get a 7800X3D
I mean, the ryzen 5 5600 is 140 rn. If I would upgrade to AM5, I gotta change the mobo, 5 7600 and ram. That would be around 500 euros.
Should I stick with am4 until am6 comes or just upgrade now to am5
I'm asking what your budget is
Either way
Try to see what a 5800X3D costs and if you can drop it in
It's probably the easiest CPU upgrade with most performance
Shouldn't need to upgrade for a long time from that point
i'd give like 200 out on the cpu
the 5800x3d is like 350 rn. Is the performance that better than 5800x?
Also I don't think I've got the necessary cooling for it.
I don't play any "heavy" games. Casual games, low-end to mid. Roblox, Fortnite, etc..
It's performance is massive, like it outperforms the 13900k still, and this chip is generations older
And it doesn't run warm, it runs generally cooler because of how it works
I have a 1440p monitor (lg ultragear 27gp850 165hz (up to 180hz)) and I want to pair it with a 60hz 1080p monitor
I also like to render videos and I like to have a lot of browser tabs open so 16GB is barely enough (24-64GB ram?)
I'd like to play some of the demanding games like Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered & Miles Morales, Forza Horizon 5 and maybe Starfield but I'd like to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider at an acceptable 90-120 fps (for all atleast 90+)
I was looking at the RTX 4070 but also RTX 3080 and 3080ti.
Can anyone give me some sort of recommendation? Budget= ~$1500
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, Intel Core i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz and 16 GB ram
Setup from 2017
If you're willing to go ~100-200 over, I have this, it'll do amazing
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8GYsmD
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Otherwise I have this which should be around 1.5k, but I need to check
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/89dnW4
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
If i have ram that is slower than another kit of ram, will the faster ram just come down to the speed of the slower ram? Probably sounds like a stupid question i know
Thank you Berry i appreciate it
Looks cool but I don't know anything about AMD graphic card and I'd like to run NVIDIA ShadowPlay
AMD has it's own alternative iirc
Otherwise, i think a 4070 would be close price?
But it's far fromas great
@vapid nymph second monitor doesn't add any load. I would recommend looking at the 6800 xt or the 7800 xt personally
Oh ok thanks, is that amd?
Yes
Budget stuff reason didn't recommend
Like what?
does someone know how do i reset an macro profile on an apex pro mini
hi
is this a good gaming pc for 1440p?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7800 XT, NZXT H6 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Add a CPU cooler imo, but for the rest, that's good
Actually, I assume you already have a CPU cooler?
@sharp holly Which CPU cooler will you be using? Curious.
I just wanted to give a little feedback too, now this is personal opinion: I would take a break from Samsung SSDs at this time, they are known to last less than a couple of years. Have had 2 nVME Samsungs already die on me. There are plenty of great SSD brands. I advise, look for a different brand of SSD storage.
What is a good cpu cooler for the ryzen 5 7600x?
Ok, such as western digital?
I use the Kraken elite 360 RGB, but that's if you want to go fancy, eye c andy. by NZXT
Love all storage brands, just taking a break from Samsung at this time. I like WD too.
Here's my build so you can see how the NZXT liquid cooler looks, one moment... let me get that for you visually..
For someone reason my Discord is bugged and won't let me upload images / videos? I will upload it to my file server, one moment please. Damn bugs...
Ok take your time
When you write 240mm is it also good, please let me know which product because there are one thousand coolers with 240mm 🙂
The nzxt
The Kraken 240 by NZXT, correct?
Yes
Yep, it's high quality and it'll last you for many years. You will get a slightly higher temp, but nothing close to normal high quality fans when overclocking. You'll still get 10- maybe 15 degrees lower cool at max load.
The only difference between the Elite 360 LCD and that one is asthetic eye candy plus slightly better cooling. Like 3 degrees cooler.
Nothing different but looks.
It's marketing, at its finest. I got it because i am a eye candy sucker for looks. I don't show off but in my private life, I like to stare at my rig and all its beauty and enjoy my build. guess its personal.
Thanks for your help!
I suggest the Arctic Liquid Freezer II personally
NZXT elite 360 with LCD display cooler, running at 38 deg without load, and 74 degrees max temp at 100% load. All in celcius.

Click here to open the link
@weary flame I LOVE Artic Liquid setups! Absolutely fantastic.....
anyway Green Rickroll, let me know which cooler you decide to order! Curious.
Your pc looks great!
Ty, don't mind the sound, that is my AC unit behind me.
The computer is mostly totally silent, there is a slight wind noise.
One last question. Which one is better? Rx 7800 xt or rtx 4070
I was researching but some people say that amd is better and some say that nvdia is better
The nVidia card 4070 gets about 38 more benchmark points, or in English, you're looking at about 40 more FPS at high resolutions. My personal opinion? I like both brands. At that kind of power, you will not notice much performance difference in any modern game.
220FPS vs 268FPS. Who cares?
All in all though, if you are doing gaming mostly, nVidia will perform better. All in all, AMD will perform better with 3D digital editing.
It doesnt matter if you have a 144hz monitor
My next card is going to be an AMD GPU though. For sure.
I will not use it for editing, only for gaming
Well, I recommend the 4070 RTX then. It'll last you 5 years before you even want a new card.
With an amd card you get SAM, correct?
With supported games, yes.
Correcting myself a little here, looks like it works on all games, only it performs better in ones that have been optimized to work with the tech.
Does it matter if you buy a brand like gigabyte or a founders edition?
Brand is only marketing 100%. Like a Nike shoe or an Addidas.
So it doesnt matter
Special editions like Founders or OC edition will give you FPS performance boost. But the brand? Does not matter.
Here, let me give you a URL of a good test site which is generic and neutral to all companies and you can simply search on the name of the GPU there, and get full statistics.
https://www.techradar.com/news/amd-graphics-cards
AMD's top GPUs today.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gpus,4380.html
nVidia's top GPUs today.
Thanks
Have a read, enjoy. Going for lunch nice chattin' Green Rickroll.
Please link us a better site.
Idk, Tom's is solid
But userbenchmark is a scam
It's just, so fake
It's ridiculous
I think many of us would like to know of a better generic website than userbenchmarks. It has been used for years by IT people.
It hasn't used by any IT person that actually does IT
Or knows anything about a product
Yet again, a good site is Tom's Hardware, or GN with it's articles getting updated, or you can watch the videos
NVIDIA gpu to 400$?
Do you need Nvidia specifically?
Because, at best, you'll get a cheap, 8GB 4060ti
With AMD you can get a 6750XT
User benchmark claims a midrange cpu from 2016 is 10% slower than a flagship in 2023. Their data isn't reliable
@pulsar fossil
I mean, just going off of their spiel on anything AMD you can extrapolate their unbiasedness
sarcasm does not really translate in text well
Ty
They are, paying Google because they're salty AMD fired them
wait what? They are from AMD and are using user benchmark? I tend to doubt that heavily

- fired them
- referring to the owner of the site
oh the owner of userbenchmark
Yeah
RX 6600 + RYZEN 5 4500, GOOD?
AMD on top
Yeah
Hence I was asking for budget and if it's a complete new build, ie, need a new board etc too
PowerColor XT Hellhound RX 6700 XT 12GB and Ryzen 5 7600x a good combo? (And 16 GB of ram that I got for free with the CPU)
I’ve already had this pc for almost a year now
it have ssd+16gb ram
Yeah that's quite good lmao
i’’m thinking in a ryzen 5 5600
I got the gpu for like 359 or 329 can’t remember the middle digit
You don't know that...?
If they need a new build, it changes everything
what about this?
dont need a new build
A320mh
Oh that
That's not a great board
Def not a bad price
i dont have money to other 😭
Ok good cus i spent all my remaining money on it and my pc
That's not a smart thing to do, but it's not a bad price so dw
I didn’t have to worry about paying bills back then
Fair
@weary flame rx 6600 it’s like rtx 4060?
@weary flame My goal is to play GTA 6, will my video card be able to do it? Which processor do I need to get to improve performance?
Idfk if it will tbh
Haven't looked at it
Plus they'll optimise etc
No idea how much you'll need
And regardless, you don't have the money for a big upgrade
i will get, it’s onmy in 2025
i will work and get money for a update
i think the video card is good for the game, but i don’t have what processor i nerd
7800XT and 7800X3D or something
hum ok
what about r7 5700x?
For you i'd just suggest getting a better board when you have the price
But for that socket
5800X3D?
I guess?
i cant get this because it’s so expensive
it’s r7 5700x a good option?
I guess
so i will got rx 6600 + r7 5700x, my goal is play with around 75 fps
I FIND A R7 3700X, IT IS GOOD?\
I buy rtx 2080ti
how much is a R5 7600
idk
Ryzen 7 3700X should be more than enough if you plan to play games with 75+ fps especially that you will pair with a RX 6600 which is a very good GPU
If you are planning to run some AAA titles then this build will be good along side atleast and only atleast 16 GB Ram and I'd recommend buying ones with 3200 mhz like 8×2 with the same speed
but you'll need some good PSU to run that
550W-600W is recommended
But it's better that you go and search for this build, see some benchmarks on youtube (there are plenty of them) and then choosd which build goes best with your pocket
maybe ryzen 5 4500 + rx 6600 can play gta 6?
Hiya,
I need some help on deciding what PC case I should upgrade to.
I was thinking of this one, but I'm not sure if it's really that good. I'm just looking for better airflow basically because my current case is honestly horrendous.

@weary flame
Sorry for the ping, but I know you know your stuff so I'm also looking for your opinion.
One second
My suggested case is still the Fractal North, which has solid airflow, or the Fractal Torrent if you just want the most airflow
Otherwise, I think that's an okay case?
I am planning to get a rtx 4060 ti 16 gb and ryzen 7 7800x3d, is it good
i suggest a 7800xt or 6800xt over the 4060ti
Should be close enough in price?
This is off the top of my head
Doing shiet
Not sure if this is the right channel, but basically my friends PC has become super slow to the point when he boots to desktop and he opens one thing the whole computer freezes, he hasn’t done anything previous to cause this, he just booted 2 days ago and it’s just given up on him. Any ideas?
Clean install of windows maybe
I don't directly have another idea
However, this does come with a wipe of all data stored so, if you want to keep some, disconnect the drive that it's in that, crucially, isn't the drive your operating system is on
Yuup
How ya doing?
pretty sure it can especially since this card is capable of running games on 1440p and considered one of the best cards within it's price so yeah it should be capable of, and yeah the ryzen 5 4500 is a good cpu too, but i'm unsure if it's available for both desktop and laptop or just for laptops since ppl say that amd skipped the 4000 series for desktop to avoid confusion, but you better do your research
no, i have it
it workd in desktop top
ok 👍 ty
no problem 👍
@pulsar fossil lmao another one
nice setup
build my own pc... love the steelseries products
check out ghost spectre. i don’t recommend it if you aren’t technologically inclined but if you don’t mind doing a little work to make it happen, it can speed up boot time and declutter your processes
@pulsar fossil lmao yeah
Holy moly
It will continue to happen as long as people click on the link
sadly people tend to be not that smart
True unfortunately
So, real quick, I’m wanting to build a laptop, and I think I have the means to do this, but I wanna make it Data accessible. Yes, I said LTE… 5G. Whatever you wanna call it. But is that even possible. I am going from ground up and know someone with 30 years of coding experience in computers and such. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Idk how you gonna build your own laptop ground up
Unless you mean a Framework laptop?
yeah it's possible, you just need a WWAN module
on Thinkpads it's just a B-key M.2 module
Thanks, I’ll check that out.
I suppose it’s not literally ground up… but it’s as much ground up as possible. Plus I might build the frame myself.
Also, does anyone know if Corsair is a good brand? I have not used them personally, but they are a good bit cheaper than my their brands.
I'm not really up to date on them but I like their power supplies, I've been using 2 for a while now
For what?
Thanks
Probably memory and ram
Memory and ram?
You mean storage and ram?
And either way, I don't think Corsair sells, rdimm?
I forgot what it's called
For storage, if SSD, Samsung is amazing on reliability
Oh wait, I use a Corsair nvme ssd as well
It's been great
But check reviews as always :)
Quick question. I have at now a nvidia gtx 1060ti. I am sesrching for a gpu thats better than the rtx 3060ti because thst waa my old gpu und it broke and were not comfortable with it. 🙂
Thanks
What wattage psu would be enough for a pc with: 7800X3D and 7800XT
What's your price range?
I think a 650-750W should be good if I remember correctly
I've an 850(?) For my 7800X3D and 3070 and it's sorta overkill for the wattage it pulls tbh
750 should be the sweet spot
the rtx 4090
I have round about 400€
COuntry?
Germany
Ok thx
That is a must. lol
⬆️
I meant to link this one.
That makes a lot more sense, I was kinda confused 😅
lol, yea
Random question, but you got admin rank so I figure your into this kinda stuff.. so fair game. What graphics card do you use in your daily.
Hi everyone, I’ve recently redone the thermal paste on my Ryzen 7 2700x and when I’ve gone to reinstall it and turn it on, I’m getting the red cpu light. I’ve tried multiple things to try and remove it such as replacing the cpu and checking the cables but nothings seemed to work.
How can I fix it?
Which board do you have?
@pulsar fossil they're at it again
Thanks
Oh hey, didn't see that. 4080 :)
Hi @everyone
what should I do if it interrupts me in Arctis Pro+Gamedac headphones?
i dont hear anything now
Sweet
Anyone have experience using a dell nvidia NVlink connector for nvidia quad to RTX 6000 Graphics Card?
can anyone suggest me what to pick,
i already have a decent rig for working (rtx 3060 and i5 11400h) and stuff
but i wanted to up a notch for gaming so i am choosing to
either get a 7800x3d and rtx 4070ti build or
ps5 / ps5 pro (when it comes out)
do u recommend the pc build or ps
I'm gonna be honest, I don't think it will work...?
Depends
Are you planning to do things like working from home, browsing etc, just things that require a pc?
Because that ps5 (pro) will be cheaper
However, if you actually do want that, you can also consider upgradability a couple years down the line with your CPU, iirc it's projected at least Ryzen 9000 will be on AM5
And the GPU isn't that hard to switch
Although I do recommend a 7900 xt or something over a 4070ti
i would say 750w-850w psu:)
i wont be doing any graphic intensive processing anytime, so my current rig of rtx 3060 is already overkill since basically all im doing is browsing or word or excel
im confused about my gaming perspective
altho rtx 3060 is good but idk how good it will be in the future years
that's why im considering either a ps5 pro or as you said 7900xt and 7800x3d
I still suggest to get an AMD card, purely for price
Unless you're interested in things like DLSS 3.0 for example
given that this rig is only for gaming
yeah
PC does allow for the most games to be played
And PS is limited to, well, what PS has for you
It genuinely depends on your budget, what you wanna do etc
so u suggest a 7900 xt over ps5 pro
You can even just use the 3060 for some years and upgrade later to something like, a 7900XT or 4080 when they're a lot cheaper
Not really
It depends on what you want to play, how much you want to pay etc etc
Consoles are never a bad thing, they're cheap, they perform really well, but the downside is not really upgradeable, and very limited in the games you can play
If you don't have a big budget or you only want to play games on a specific console, get that console
If you want to play more games, and have more freedom in general what to do, get a PC
I, personally, like PC's more
you can also use a controller pretty easily with PC. I have mine plugged in for less input delay but most controllers can connect wirelessly to the PC. I never got used to playing mouse and keyboard so I just use a controller and it works great
Yeah pcs may be more expensive but theyre overall almost always better if youre willing to spend more
Consoles are if you wanna save money
For 2k its no doubt better to get a pc
is i5-10400F and Rtx 3060 12 gb good combination?
if you ask me, i can't upgrade cpu. like i can't
10400f is a bottleneck often
actually bottleneck causes stutters? or does it limit performance and that's all
cuz i won't go for freaking 3050 to prevent bottleneck
i upgraded from i7-870 like a year ago so i won't get new CPU, it would be waste of money
i wonder what would happen if i got like 3070 or 3070 ti to get some future proof
so i would only need better CPU to get in like a year
Bottleneck means it could limit performance and it'd depend on what kind of game youre playing
But 10400f and a 3060 is kind of a big difference you could try a 20 series card ig
You need to upgrade cpu if youre looking to upgrade your gpu into something thats worth upgrading to today
But up2u
Like it'd be a waste to upgrade to a bottleneck so just save up more and do both gpu and cpu
Id say 12400f might be a good option for you
I might save up somehow for next christmas
I mean if nvidia wont drop anything cheap and cool then i will buy like 3070 ti or some 40xx card with new cpu
Are you getting these new?
@pulsar fossil another
Thanks
<3
No u and congrats on your new title
Happy to hear :)
Are asrock motherboards good?
They're not bad anymore
I hope you get some more positivity in your life soon 😊
specific model is always the question
It's all about checking reviews imo
Lmao
B650m pg riptide
I’m trying to build a pc and I’m looking for the motherboard rn I chose a ryzen 5 7600 and a Radeon rx 6950 xt
it's alright but pretty expensive rn
I found one on Newegg for 190 but on micro center they are 150 on sale unfortunately it’s out of stock
Do you know any substitute motherboards I can use
Oh and what is the difference between WiFi and no WiFi on mothorboard
just that, you don't have to buy a separate WiFi card
There are other wifi chips?
But they also have bluetooth generally
Please my dads getting pissed off now
Reseat CPU and ram, check if the fan header is going correctly
Fixed it, it was the fact I didn’t have any APX_12v plugged in
Pretty sure I've made that mistake as well :D
😂 yep I feel so stupid, but it’s working now and I get double or triple the frames so 😃
You live and you learn :D
So should I get one with wifi or just buy it separately
the one with WiFi is cheaper rn, so that
Regardless, it tends to be only 10 bucks, and overall it's smarter to get that just to have it
should i go for rtx 4070 ti or rx 7900 xtx
because if dlss 3 is turnt on the rx card lags behind by a lot
but if on native, the rtx lags behind
but realistically speaking, i prefer dlss 3 over native
solid 9! would suggest maybe sticking to a certain color i stead of the rainbow rgb though!
ye im getting 4060 for christmas
althought CPU is old
Any reasons you're going Nvidia?
AMD is really good these days
idk
I still suggest getting like, a 6600 and get a better CPU
i can'tt
With a 4060 you're not gonna bottleneck that hard
well according to pcbuild fps calculator i get 200 fps less in apex legends
idk how to trust it tho
Don't trust that
i want the 240 fps somehow
1080p, low
Apex really isn't a hard game to run
i think i will have to play with settings a bit
ye
but 3060 is running it 210 fps avg on youtube and the 4060 im getting usually gets 10 fps more than 3060 so it would mean that i will get 220 fps avg
And regardless
A 6600 tends to do better than a 3060
Especially raster
Unless you ordered it already
idk
changing a gpu won't do big difference itself with my cpu anyway
i will enjoy the experience i will have and maybe upgrade cpu in the future
The 6600 is considerably cheaper iirc
You can get a better CPU with the price difference
why is rx 6600 the same price as my gpu (actual gpu) and it's so good comparing to mine 😭
berry what cpu do u suggest for 1440p ultra preset with 4070ti
im socket 1200 soooo
can't get anything better than i7-11xx for that money
or i5-11 idk
For gaming? 7800X3D all the way
For mixed use, 7950X3D isn't bad, but the 13900k at that point also becomes interesting
Although not a fan of it
so cpu upgrade would be less efficient/more expensive than you thought
btw should i get anything more than 16 gb ram
or 16 is enough
i have 3200 MHz although they work in 2666 MHz because of CPU's cap
ye
However, XMP doesn't void warranty unless it's the sole reason the CPU died, which is not reeally possible
i5-10400 is 2666 MHz from what i know
I'm sorry, what's your total PC budget?
around 1700 pln
are you building a whole pc rig from your budget?
nah not really, at least i dont think so. I plan to get 4060 for 240 hz gaming
but i have bottlenecking cpu which is a problem (i5-10400f)
and i wondered if i would be able to play apex legends 240 fps
that's it
idk
from youtube benchmark it's 280 fps on avg but in rainbow six siege
from what i know Apex legends is much harder to run than the R6 aka rainbow six siege
i guess i will see in a week
Really not gonna be that much of an issue
i dont think i should really worry that much on these fps
That''s what I've been telling you
i dont think u need to worry about getting 240 fps, since basically ur getting about 220 and i dont think 20 more fps will make u lose a match :)
@pulsar fossil lmao again
Thanks
Np
the ram is not going to use 3200MHz ram speed unless u overclock the cpu
Anyone got any tips on eliminating keyboard input delay/drifting?
I've got an apex M750 that was no issues on my previous system.
I've just built a new system and any game I play I'm experiencing serious input lag and drifting
System is;
CPU Cooler - LianLi Galahad II LCD AIO
CPU - Ryzen 7 7800 X3D
GPU - RX 7900 XTX OC (ASUS TUF Gaming)
SSD - 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2
RAM - 32GB Vengeance 6000MHz
PSU - Corsair rm1000e
I've tried the usual unintalling and reinstalling drivers, swapping languages, turning off sticky keys etc. The only thing I've not done is try a different keyboard as I don't have a spare one to test
We get it...?
@pulsar fossil this one's
Yeah
Thanks. I was sleeping when it happened 😅
Sorry to hear
That's good :)
Hey guys, could anybody rate the PC? I don't know if i should buy this..:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/23bhFs
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, ENDORFY Arx 700 ARGB ATX Mid Tower
That's a more than solid build
For the budget, it really isn't bad if you like things like Nvidia RT and DLSS
I would suggest that
Mhm, so it's good for gaming right?
It's banger
what is the difference between ventus and suprim/ gaming version of msi gpus
like does the performance differ
IT's overall more so features
Can anyone help with my pc? It wont turn on
is it fully plugged in
i think its a good build but i would get more storage since games nowadays have big file sizes but you only need it if you aren't gonna play a lot of new triple A games
I fixed it, power supply problem
Nah man, 1TB would be a big upgrade for me. Right now, i have around 450Gb storge
Do try to get 2TB
The price for it really isn't bad
And a good chunk will be taken by Windows
https://geizhals.de/wishlists/3588850
I'm still battleling with myself with Nvidia or AMD, because it 's hard to choose for me
What's your budget for GPU?
I don't have a Budget for just one specific part.
My "Limit" for all parts together is only below 2500€
So you need to cut €300 from this build? Or you've found some of these parts cheaper?
@vocal aurora
i just wanna be able to run most games, for example like gta
i got I5-12600KF
i got 16gb of ram, 15.8gb available
not much atm since i just thought i might be able to get a upgrade in chistmas so between 50-100 euro, but later i might be willing to spend like 100-200 probs. i know its not really a lot i just wanna see if i can get an upgrade for that and if not what budget do i need and what should i get
No graphics card? Intel integrated only?
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
nothing is really not running im just wondering if there is anything i can upgrade to make it run a bit smoother, its just a bit lag from time to time and i couldnt think of anything else to wish for
I can tell you that for games your bottleneck is gonna be your graphics card unfortunately, so an expensive upgrade
If you wanted to raytrace I'd suggest an upgrade to a 3080 or 4070ti, 4070 if it was more affordable, then eventually upgrading to 32gb of ram
oooh thats unfortunate aha, guess its gonna come from me and not a gift then
what would you suggest i upgrade to in that case?
okey thanks
Oh and if load times aren't snappy make sure you're running on an SSD not a hard drive, nvme if possible. They're pretty cheap atm
It you weren't bothered with rtx then maybe an rx 7800? 7900 xt if you're feeling fancy?
Probably not haha
Oh and what monitor have you got?
Is it 1080p?1440?4k? And what refresh rate?
i mean if absolutely needed i got like 3000 in the bank but im not sure if i wanna spend all that ahah
euro
I only bought my 3080 because I found it for a steal second hand at a reputable second hand shop here in the UK, £400 lmao
1920x1080 144herz monitor
I'd be happy with a 3070ti or 4070
Yeah so everything should be running on what you've got just, yk, maybe not ultra with ray tracing 144hz lmao
For perspective, running the benchmark in cyberpunk with ray tracing ultra I get like 45fps
Ryzen 7 5700x, rtx 3080
okey so basically im okey with everything i got unless i wanna run everything on higher settings?
Exactly
But make sure to be using an nvme for storing games
okey nice thanks
It's genuinely a really nice qol improvement
And a 1tb one at least over here is like £40, 2tb about £90
£110 maybe
so i shouldnt increase my ram?
I'm assuming you have ddr4? Probably running 3200 - 3600mhz? Usually the average for 12th gen intel i5 systems I think?
im running 2133 mhz actually
Ah
I mean a faster kit might be worth it maybe? But if I'm honest, if it costs you more than like €60, that's money which could've gone on a better GPU yk?
okey so i could buy a faster kit but its better to save for a better gpu? like its not really needed but would be nice to get?
Yeah
i mean im probably not going to buy a better gpu now, maybe a little later when it becomes a big problem with games you know. what kit would you recommend tho?
you sure it's not a faster kit with XMP disabled?
I actually got no idea how to check that
do you have CPU-Z or HWiNFO64 installed?
if not, get this https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
Correct me if I'm wrong
But I think you can see it in task manager anyway?
Does anyone know if I can plug a regular HDMI monitor up to an Xbox One without a capture card?
You can plug an Xbox into any hdmi monitor that supports the resolution the Xbox uses
this is what it shows, still dont know whats what tho 😅
It shows the speed your memory is running at
The first one that is
Can Lian li strummers fit into a 3060
Idk how to check if i have CPU-Z or HWiNFO64 installed. And you said I can see that in task manager
I'm saying that's the speed of your ram
You don't need either to check it
Either way
I suggest to find a yt guide how to enable xmp
So you can tighten your timings at least, if not give better speeds than whatever you have now
if i turn on xmp wont that put strain on my pc? oh and do i just wanna enable xmp or do i want to enable xmp advanced options aswell?
Enable xmp 1 iirc
And it will put "strain" on your CPU
But way before your CPU gives up, you will have crashes and just regular instability anyway
okey cuz i searched up how to enable xmp and in my BIOS there was just a button that said enable XMP is what he said, then later he was talking about advanced xmp settings, should i do that aswell?
Just enable XMP1
and how do i do that? cuz i cant find anyone showing how to do that, only about xmp. idk shit about this sorry
going into ai overclock turner and putting on DOCP, for me its XMP since i have intel but should i do that, i know you said follow the video but im not sure how much of it i should follow? like should i just do exactly what he is doing the entire video?
going into ai overclock turner and putting on DOCP, for me its XMP since i have intel but should i do that, i know you said follow the video but im not sure how much of it i should follow? like should i just do exactly what he is doing the entire video?
Do you do any workload type of work?
Idk which video you're watching
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDzrq5IxBX4&ab_channel=Maraksot78 this is the one im watching
After buying/installing new RAM into your computer it's important to know how to enable your RAM's XMP profile (eXtreme Memory Profile) otherwise you'll be missing out on performance you paid good money for. This video is designed to teach those new to PC DIY what an XMP profile is, why you want to enable your RAM's XMP profile and how to do it....
okey thanks, then i wont do anything more since ive already done that
will enabling it lower my ping? cuz when i played just now i got down to around 10 when im usually around maybe 20
okey
What’s xmp?
checking if the memory has an XMP profile
Hi guys my PC has an issue that browsers would go all slow and sluggy but when disabling HArdware acceleration it works fine? what could be the cause, it works impecible when gaming and everything else
Extreme Memory Profile, it basically ups the speed of your ram so for example if you retail buy a RAM stick which is 4000Mhz it may only be running at 3200Mhz until you turn XMP on
Because your hardware accelerator doesn't really work that well
It requires overhead your pc cannot deliver one way or another
Assuming DDR4, it will be running, at best, at 2333
hii berry, i completed the build from what you suggested<3
Hey, that's nice!
What were the specs again? i forgor
Does look like, at least, a 4070
Oh also, cable mod should have a white 13VHPWR cable
Get the angled cable btw, not adaptor
Looks fantastic
bro pretty pc
is there much of a difference between the 7800 xt and 7900 xt? just curious. - i just upgraded to the 7800 xt from a 1660ti and got it on sale
Well
There is def a difference
But don't
You just got a 7800xt
You don't need to keep upgrading
is there a way to install a bios that is not the one that came with the PC? Omen Bios is so restrictive i hate it so much
Oh actually
Is it against a wall or not? Not entirely certain with the camera angle
Honestly idk
It depends on so many things like of they use a boars from someone like Asus
If so, you should be able to find a bios on Asus site
Otherwise
Idk
i honestly have no idea what mobo it is. ✨Prebuilt tingz✨
I doubt there's much you can do unfortunately
Unless you can find a homebrew bios of some kind
i wanna boost power to cpu because i’ve heard that’s a way to bump the speed when you don’t have an unlocked cpu but omen bios doesn’t allow that at all 😞 they really don’t want you messing with the system for some reason
Is it this version you have @limpid bobcat?
oh no it’s a HP Omen 25L i7 12700 and rtx 3070
thank youuuu
tyyy
Great because those are very power limited
Things have come a long way since my first PC 😂
yeah i realize that more every day ☹️. i just attempted ram overclocking on crucial pro 3200mhz with 22 22 52. tried going 3467 and 21 21 51 and it had a fit
ahh the medieval rtx 4070ti
My first GPU had 8MB VRAM
And a single core cpu with 536 MHz, no threading or anything
i love my pc don’t get me wrong it does everything i need it to and more. i’m just trying to learn everything i can about hardware and software because it interests me
every extra point i can get on a benchmark is so satisfying just because i learned something out of it
You can consider switching the motherboard to something more off the shelf
Would give you a lot more bios options
that’s an idea i’ve been considering. i’m slowly teaching myself how to build the pc by taking different things apart and putting it back together, that might be my next venture
its against the wall
i became confused what you said 🥹
okayyy
there are 2666 and a few 3200 JEDEC kits
Oh yeah 2666 was the other one
but yeah 3200 is pretty uncommon on XMP DDR4 kits
if you get a fresh batch you could end up with one
fs just was curious
It wasn't close to the end of DDR4 iirc
It was the more popular frequency over 3600, just getting a 3200 kit with the good timings was hard
i have got new gpu
and my game is crashing and stuttering
is that because of 98% ram?
im never getting below 100 fps (if not stuttering)
it's 4060 and i5-10400f
which is weird combo but it works i guess
i don't think it's because of that but idk
Try doing a clean install of your gpu driver
Oh I thought you replaced another gpu?
Ye
But i installed new drivers already
I will look in some game logs when i get back home
But i dont think that it will tell me anything
Best of luck :)
Actually downloaded drivers from nvidia website but i didnt press update in device menager but i dont think i need if i downloaded nvidia drivers from website already
Correct me if im wrong
Can it be because i installed this game when i was using my old gpu?
Try to reinstall drivers cleanly
Btw the game is randomly closing not freezing
idk tbh

this is error message from logs (Hogwarts legacy)
idk if you know what that means
it says crash type = gpu
