Degrees and Fahrenheit are two different things my friend
no, we are.
also known as the rest of the world.
The correct option between miles and kilometers
Oh and kilo = 1000, so 1 km = 1000 meters
Just like 1 kg is 1000 grams
It just works
What is fahrenheit measured in then?? Radians??
Nah
“It’s 50 degrees outside”
Degrees in celcius are too imprecise, the degrees are too big
Like one degree in celcius is several in fahrenheit
So you can more accurately say what temperature it us
Is
Btw America is better 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
LMAO
damn 95π Fahrenheit outside
I mean fr
Fahrenheit is measure in degrees too
All I’m saying is that degrees in fahrenheit are smaller so you can be more precise with how hot or cold it is
decimals are so cool I wish they were real
tbh I've rarely seen anything besides Kelvin used for chemistry
Don’t even get me started on kelvin
anyways
using °F for hardware temperatures and also not mentioning it is crazy
I still have no idea if they meant °C or °F 😭
Ok but like 89c could be several different degrees in f
wdym
Degrees in celcius are less precise
Yes they are
A single degree in celcius corresponds to several in fahrenheit
Meaning whole numbers are more precise
Comparing between two different measurement systems doesn't necessarily mean a change in precision. 0.00 degrees C is 32.00 degrees F. Each has the same number of significant digits, and are therefore equally precise. Celsius and Farenheit are just two different methods of explaining an object's thermal effect on its surroundings
An object that has a temperature of 56.00 degrees Celsius will have a Farenheit reading of 132.80 F. The object's thermal energy has not changed by switching temperature scales (it will still hurt to touch) - just the number used to represent it.
No dude what I'm saying is degrees in celcius are bigger
freezing-boiling in celcius is 0-100
freezing to boiling in fahrenheit is 32-212
The fact that there are more degrees in the same amount of thermal exchange in fahrenheit means that each degree is smaller
Each degree being smaller doesn't necessarily dictate the accuracy, as both celcius and fahrenheit are accurate, when measured correctly, but what each degree being smaller does mean is that you can pinpoint the exact temperature of an object with greater precision
Let's stay on topic :)
Don't, it's not worth it
owocash
Suggest to get a B series at the very least
If you made this using PCPP, I’d recommend finding prices that are available, some times PCPP is inaccurate so it could go over budget
Didn’t use that, I just made the list out of things I found on Amazon, micro center and Best Buy and checking its performance for each of them through videos
ok good
just making sure your budget is according to actuallity and not PCPP pricing
i thought my PC would cost 800$, turns out it was 1.1k with pricing being altered and inflation cause yea
I already checked the total for all of them combined, it’s just below $700
Including tax
Oh, in that case
Go check out your nearest microcenter for motherboard combos
They tend to come really cheap
I've got 2x1TB and 1x2TB of the SN850x. If you look on Amazon, I just recently got that 2TB SN850x for around $130. It's a stupid good deal. Here's the link... https://www.amazon.com/WD_BLACK-SN850X-Internal-Gaming-Solid/dp/B0B7CKZGN6
Strap in for breakneck gaming speeds with the WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD. Crush load times and slash throttling, lagging, and texture pop-ins for a smooth, fast experience that lets you compete at your absolute peak. This purpose-built gaming drive comes in capacities of 1TB to 4TB(2), with an opt...
Replaced it with the 1TB one to look at the total, it goes over the budget
can some one help me i want to build/buy a gaming pc for FiveM butt i dont know where to start my buget in 300 and max 500
You're pretty much relegated to a cheap B550 and an APU CPU
However you can wait until this gens APU comes out for better performance
First time pc builder, budgeting 5000 for a nvidia 4090 build, where do i start?
Uuuh
One sec
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Here
This is a solid start
Add and change things how you want
Even motherboard if you need soz but there is little to no reason unless you need the IO
Thanks, I think I might go for an intel build though, did some reasearching online and found a good website to customize a prebuilt. Thanks for the help though
I suggest to go with the 7800X3D
For gaming it tends to be overall better
And the heat output isn't as ridiculous
Yo anybody got a spare 4090 ti I could have
can you remake this but for the graphics card put something with raytracing capabilities please
Just give me a price range
I feel your best bet will be a 6700/6750
Maybe even 6800/7800
It's not bad in raytracing and you get better performance than the 3060 or so you'll be able to buy otherwise
If you want nvidias framegen, best bet is a 4060 but imo that's a joke of a card
ok thanks
8gb vram
💀
This is a channel for building PCs. I would suggest making a #official-support ticket on the website but you can also ask others for help in #1047622297382567936 :)
don’t want to
12700F is an interesting choice
Not really
A 3060 probably does somewhat close in RT, but overall performance is a good bit lower
Like, mind you, a 6700/6750xt can compete with a 3070ti on raster
Hey
Hry
can anyone help me with the audion on mw2. currently using artic nova pro
mic works fine on disc and other apps. but i have no audio on mw2
Thinking of upgrading my prebuilt not sure where to start ram is on sale today $75 for 32GB yet not sure what else where else to update, I have an 8TB external HDD and OS is on the NvME SSD with no idea how to seamlessly transfer it
Get more NVMe SSD if you can
Or upgrade your GPU, dependant on your budget
And keep the OS on that SSD
No just stating I have plenty of storage yet not SSD storage, I was considering upgrading to an internal SSD
I was eyeing a 2TB NVMe just do not know how to transfer the OS and everything
Check if you have more than one NVMe slot
If you do, put the 2 TB in there
Then you can use it as pure storage
do u have amazon prime
Sounds good
prime day u can get them cheap af
Exactly why I was asking first thing in the morning with the sale going live lol
Looks like only one slot
u can get pcie to m2 adapters
they like $10-20
booting off them can be pain so just use for the storage ssd
Yet will that not slow it down to the speed of a SSD?
It will slow down to whatever the slowest is
SSD or PCIe slot
So at that point may be cheaper to just get a SSD
nah
Is there any way to make the apex pro quieter
Keyboard
Or is there a better option for a quieter keyboard
I'm just trying to stream on pc and don't want a keyboard that breaks the sound barrier
any recommendations for a steelseries keyboard?
I've got a apex 3 that I got on sale and it's very good, decent lighting and the keys are so quiet
ok
It's also one of the cheapest, and I'd it's too big you can get the apex 3 tkl but i would still reckoned doing your own research and getting opinions :)
Instructions unclear: buss a nut
how do i stop my keyboard and mouse from flashing when i die in game
If its a corsair its a setting in ICUE that should disable it. Software and game interactions.
you'd have to say what your keyboard is
Apex100 is a great choice
Used it for about a year (and raged at competitive overwatch and banged on it) and it’s still at 100%
Yes
anyone have recommendations for upgrading from i5 9600k? doesn’t gotta be same chipset
Budget? I would say 7800X3D if you can afford that…or a 13600K as soon as goes on discount over the next couple of months. The AMD 7800X3D would be the dream, IMHO.
How much money do you have in total?
Because you'll have to get a board too
if you can afford to scrape the top of your cpu to get better cooling
With the 7800x3D? It’s not really needed…
budget for cpu itself around 450
depends on the silicon lottery
This depends with every CPU. Since the night of Ages.
what the hell is that man posting
@pulsar fossil
Not really
It runs cool enough I've it in an ITX case with PBO on
It runs fine
well for everything that i wanna get, probably a little over 1,000
Yes i do, my gpu as of rn is a 1660ti, thinking of upgrading to a 3070 but not sure if its worth the upgrade from 1000 to 3000 series
32gb ram ddr4
If you have ddr4, lemme see rq
You can carry memory over with this
The 6650xt is a solid card too
Close to the 3070 or matching it in all but RT (and even then it's not bad)
And you can save money if you have a case you wanna reuse
Yes i’ll be reusing my case for sure and should be good for psu
I don’t care too much for rt although it would be pretty neat
One second then
Thanks :)
6750 xt would be decent on sale i feel, thought about the 6800 but a little overkill for me i’d say
MSI X670E Tomahawk Max, G.SKill DDR5 6000 MT/s CL30, Ryzen 7800X3D. It’s the fastest block you could build atm and you also have the door open for one or two CPU upgrades along the years.
Then sell your current computer and invest either in a RTX3070 or a RX6800
It will give you a more than decent bump
is Ryzen really that good? i’ve never had it before and don’t know anything about it
Okay will do
hey, quick question, i was thinking of getting the Lian li Strimer plus V2's GPU + PSU, but after looking into it, theres only a 2x8pin for the GPU and a 3x8pin, but since i've got a 2060 super, i only have a 1x8pin, anyway around this?
let me probably rephrase this a bit better
i was looking at buying the strimer v2s for both my gpu and the psu, but after a bit of looking around, the GPU strimers are only available in 2x8 pins, whilst my 2060 super is only 1x8pin
The 2x8 pin is 2 8 pin cables chained
Lemme get a pic rq
You can just plug one in if you want
idk, i can’t really seem to find anything on youtube or nothing
tried asking abt this on reddit, but the 4090 warriors had to flame me for having a 2060 lol
that’s the hard part ahaha, nothing like that on internet
Sadly true
was thinking, maybe just remove half of the wires?
Just wrap it around
there would be 8 “LED” strips, and 8 actual power wires, would there be a way to reroute those 8 LED ones to 4 power ones
Hi Guys, I’m trying to build a budget gaming PC, it’ll basically be for recording content, streaming and video editing as I do have a console.
What do you guys think of this build?
what's your total budget?
cos at a £500 budget you're bold going for all new components
for recording and streaming and especially video editing
go with a 5600(X) if you can. It's much better. I might also go with a bit nicer of a power supply. Your CPU also comes with a cooler.
I see your in the UK but the B450M is quite old, and at that price see if you can get a 550 type. Would be better in the long run
yeah the cpu is gonna bottleneck
the fan is likely worse than the included amd wraith cooler
there's no price listed for the rx 570 on there but you can get an rtx 2060 for about £170 at cex
or a 2070 for about £195
second hand will skyrocket the performance
RTX is pretty good for video codec but for raw gaming if that's his goal without RT then AMD is good or if he's set on a colour team
if you wanted amd, rx 6600 is £170
and will stomp the rx 570
but for the video and gaming side which he said was important, the rtx 2060 at the same price is probably the way to go
I'd say unless you want some amd specific features but.... what are those? lol
I agree. Especially with Davinci or Premiere Pro and Media Encoder the Nvidia (nvec?) encoder is amazing
yeah
also it's hilarious that on pcpartpicker the only thing needing delivery is the nvme xD
hahaha I missed that before
anyway, I'd say second hand is the way to go for a few of these parts
if you're encoding in H.264 that is
GPU is mostly safe now, I wouldn't do any storage, RAM maybe yes
cex seem to have upped their prices recently cos the exact model of rtx 3080 I have is £70 more than when I bought it which is a shame
Yes. I wasn't getting into specifics 🙃 really depends what you need
exactly, I did my nvme new, my cpu and gpu second hand, and my ram second hand knowing that the £16 I spend on my 3200mhz 16GB is so cheap I can just replace it if the lifespan is short
a CPU used I've seen them show fine pictures then have a bent pin and not refund yo
hm, I bought mine in person so idk
but I'd say record yourself opening the box and you're probably safe
as long as you don't show yourself doing something stupid
oh the case listed there is fine, and I know it seems like the case is an easy thing to save money on but more expensive cases are actually much nicer to build in
the first case I bought myself was £20 on amazon and it was genuinely horrible. the screws didn't quite line up with the motherboard, the measurements weren't accurate so I had to bend the hard drive tray out of the way in order to fit my (at the time) gtx 770
that was a bloody big card for such little performance xD
no wait I found it
it was the 670
anyway, that's my insight, I'll leave the guy to read through and make his mind up
I’ve found a used RX 570 for £75
I’ve been keeping an eye out for that, I’m hoping it’ll drop for Black Friday.
I’ve made some changes to the list
Here’s the updated build
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/pDCxHG
I’m hoping to get it down to £500 with Black Friday deals
Changed the motherboard, GPU and Power supply
I’ve already secured a monitor, Dell S2721HGF 27” Curved Screen 144Hz
Used for £90
Not bad, only thing I would say is 27" is just barely big enough for curved
should I buy RTX 4060?
At what price, and what can you buy instead for that price? And what do you plan to use it for?
I want 1080p gaming with max settings at any game and 144+ fps
also with rtx if its possible
You're not gonna rtx at 144 on a 4060
I have a GTX 1060 6gb
but my game lag very much
What's your CPU?
And what setting do you play on?
I said if its possible, not so important, which should I prefer, 6700 or 4060?
For non Raytracing, probably the 6700, for Raytracing, however weak the performance, probably the 4060, but honestly if you can find it for a similar price, see about getting a 3070 or 3080
I think 4060 is better than 3070 because of dlss 3
how can I find a 3080 with 4060 price?
impossible
So, I will buy Asus dual RTX 4060, is it worth the price?
That really depends
Like, do you want 35-40fps in rtx and 90 in non rtx or 144 in non rtx and 25 in rtx, obviously not real numbers but that's the point
6700
7700 if you find it for a price close to the 6700
Although do look into the 6750xt
But do you need the RT and DLSS 3.0 perf?
can someone help me how to open a ticket on the website like write one
bc i dont find anything to write smth
Then there's no point to give
Because it's made up
@pulsar fossil just making sure
You can't, not here at least. There was a promo but it ended in January
Thanks
Just finished two events with one being absolutely massive. Having some time off before going to Atlanta for three weeks next Friday and they just announced we're coming back to London with another event so can't complain 😄
You?
Atlanta, damn, what you gonna do there?
And London?
Mister world wide I see
I'm just working for a temp time
And taking a lot of train pics
Did finish my pc build finally tho
Rainbow Six Siege major. Yeah, it's nice. We also have our world final in Abu Dhabi later in December plus I'm going to Disneyland Paris in December as well 😅
I really do
Nice! Have you posted it in #1059414196858662923?
I'm apparently guilty of several counts of manslaughter
Nah, only pics I had were everything put together, but not of how everything will look
Had to hop on the train to go working and I didn't have all the stuff I needed
Ooooh, Disney land for yourself or event?
Ping me in it if you do, would like to see :)
Super short trip for a couple of days with my SO
Oh, enjoy!
I need to finish my setup soon, I've had Wave panels in a box since 2019 😂
XD
Damn
4 years
Speaking of my pc
Might actually upgrade to a 4070 because of SFX
AMD is nice and all, but I need efficiency over price point
And luckily it's the only card I so far actually recommend from Nvidia XD
I'm considering upgrading my cpu
9th gen is starting to get old 😅
Even if it is an I9-9900k
Oof, fair
I still recommend the 7800X3D
It's just solid
A solid B series board
It's just better overall for gaming
Thanks for the tip :)
hi, ihave one problem with my output XDXD perdon nose mucho ingles
Can somebody help me
I tried to change the audio output but nothing happened
I can only use them in the speaker sound port
it just lets me use them that way
I make my final choice, I'll buy asus dual rtx 4060 but I'm waiting for price drop
I second that
would absolute avoid a 4060
why?
dont say "vram"
8 gb of vram is ok for 1080p
I know it has to be 10 gb but 16 gb one is so expensive
8 gb is limit for 1080p
10 gb perfect
Not anymore
Say a game that needs more vram than 8 gb on 1080p
That only applies if you play at low medium settings at 720p with upscaling to 1080p
Harry potter legacy
Starfield
Cp2077
All gram starved
Vram
And that's without thinking of future use cases
But I mean, its your money to burn
You’re right, this games can use more than 8 gb but upscailing to 1080p from 720p your vram is “enough” for high settings but not for ultra probably.
Upscailing + dlss and frame gen, you can play this games at very good fps and Vram dont effect
no it's just a terrible deal lol
barely an upgrade from the 3060
Also freaking expensive
Nothing in the 40 series I can recommend on price/value except the 4070
And the 4090 for max perf
yeah
4070 is a mid deal now too since the 7800 XT exists
just the classic deal of NVENC and OptiX are the only reasons to choose the Nvidia card
I think it's pointless to show reason. They made their decision, let them get taco bell at prime rib prices
Lol yeah, I'm not sure the point of asking our advice if he'd already made his mind up
Are you using steelseries sonar? And what is the headset model?¿Estás usando una sonda Steelseries? ¿Y cuál es el modelo de auricular?
Affirmation of choice to self
Of a notoriously controversial card?
I have gtx 1660 super now
Yeah but we're talking about your money, and what is a good deal
And since the 3070 and the 4060 are usually about the same price, and both will get dlss 3.5, you're probably better off with the 3070 but, yk, your call
How statement that it's barely an upgrade from the 3060 is context for want the price is bad
This depends on country, in Turkey prices are to much between 4060 and 3070. 3070 wont get dlss 3, only RTX 40 will get dlss 3+
I also think 3070 is better
but my pocket says 4060 is better
Are you buying new or used?
I am against buying used GPUs.
Sorry, I was wrong
used products are suck
Why?
Ok, personal preference
yes
As someone who knows what he's doing and would either require proof that it works within spec when I pick it up, or have a trustworthy return process, used is fine for me
not fine for me
used is bad
Lmao ok
I still don't understand why you'd ask our advice and then shoot down every suggestion
I learned what I need to learn
thx

It's this model HAHAHA I found it at Ross, it was cheap
Does anyone know if you can find an adapter for RGB fans when your motherboard doesn't have rgb headers?
There's an application called steelseries gg, if it didn't download automatically when you plugged them in, try downloading it on the website
ready
So, if you enable sonar in that, look through the audio devices, set defaults
So I’m on ps5 running a lg-c1 tv and love the t.v by the way. I’m able to run 4K, full hdr, vrr, at 120, rarely will I drop down to 100 to 110 frames and I believe it is Warzone connection issue. All I ever play is call of duty. Nothing else. I also run nova pro wired. Would this p.c. Be a good upgrade for the price for some one like me? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/163789956803831/?mibextid=jrrUqu or something like this more local? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1428835257673231/?mibextid=jrrUqu
Hey guys, do anyone know how to properly setup my arctis 9 headset with arena 7 so that I can swap between them using the multifunction button on the right speaker?
paypal: ineedmorem0neytheboywealwealweal
send it to me i will set it up for youe
need some screenshots?
get a USB-based ARGB controller
like the Razer ARGB controller or similar
Alr then
Yeah, there are tons of RGB controller options. I'd suggest one that fits with your over all system, like if you have a lot of NZXT stuff use theirs, Razer then use theirs etc
Might as well create envy and cringe https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6FbhP6
Alongside a new 22tb Nas with 2 drive failure capacity https://pcpartpicker.com/b/j7Gqqs
interesting to say the least
so envious of current memory and storage prices
Works great. No fiddling with water, normally whisper quiet
And only a 4% degregation vs water in extreme use cases and never decreased in normal use and gaming
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/IICautionII/saved/#view=qXnNzy this is in my budget range is this good/ no bottlenecks
If I have the application, the problem is that the headphones do not appear and when I connect them to the PC I can only connect them as speakers and I cannot speak
I don't know if it is a problem with my PC or one of the headphones hahaha (they are not Bluetooth) and if it is a problem with the PC I don't know how to solve it xdxd
I recommend this build, but change the GPU to a 4070ti if you want
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/DZmP2m
Apparently rn it's 1.6k for cheapest in the UK, so you can upgrade to even a 4080, or get more storage or whatever
Oh wow thanks 👍
What's an upgrade to the AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT?
You're looking for AMD or Nvidia gpu?
AMD wise: 6700/6750. Or any 7000-series. From Nvidia 3070 - 3090, or any 4000-series
Depends fully on your budget, which is smartest
What's the budget you have?
Uh, you good mate?
@pulsar fossil idk, dudes off his rockers or something
damn what'd I miss
Some people just need a hug
I hope that that is all

I mean I can save up I have a job
What's better amd or nVidia
Depends on opinion. I like AMD because of the open source initiatives and ensuring their products work on all, alongside the general company. People like Nvidia because of the overall sentiment that they are "faster" with upscaling, but not in truth when it comes to true performance without upscaling tech layered on top. Nvidia focuses heavily on the cloud and fake frame generation tech, and some ray tracing .... and ray tracing performance is better, but "better" means overall performance still plummets with ray tracing, along with in many cases abandoning artful lighting choices for "realistic" rendering. Only artistic choice lighting that partially remains is with games from the 90s like Quake, or Doom RTX mods... and other games that abandon curved geometry for ray tracing simplicity.
Also hear people complain about drivers.... but I have much more issues on the nvidia side with video card drivers on my laptops than I ever did with AMD (other than the 5700 XT issues they resolved).
though, to be transparent, I do beta testing now for AMD video card drivers and have been using desktop AMD/ATI cards from the days of the Rage 3D II. But have had many laptops with nvidia.
Ok thanks
Also, nvidia techniques are 100% proprietary and locked to their tech. They argue its because of their cores, but its not a true statement. There was a way to nvidia CUDA as a secondary GPU, and nvidia did not like people maining AMD while having Nvidia as secondary for video encoding (which was superior until recently), and disabled their drivers from functioning for any use cases if another vendor card was present and attached to a display
this was in the late 2000's and persists to this day
so I do not personally support those practices with my wallet
Ok I'll probably stick with amd
personally. I dislike the overall market pricing.
I would recommend you get the 6000 series, 6700 or 6800
otherwise its all priced stupid as hell
And those are better than what I currently have the amd Radeon RX 6650 XT?
sec
I have a 6900 XT
running 1440p165 with little issues
though many games I run at 120 or 100 FPS just because they are either heavy or poorly optimized, and I don't do FSR or upscaling
This is a good way to compare performance https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
6700 is not worth it
6700/6750 XT is about 15% faster
6800 is about 50% faster
6800 XT is about 65-75% faster
6900 XT is about 70-80% faster (what I have)
I recommend the 6800 XT
and thats the card thats often the sweet spot in pricing
do not get a card thats 8 GB of VRAM, and I would avoid 12 GB unless you are strictly going to be 1080p gaming
I do not recommend the 6900 XT unless you find a hell of a deal
Ok I'll start saving for the 6800 thanks for the help
you in the USA?
Yes
check out slickdeals. net for GPU pricing, and hardware unboxed does good pricing analysis
their overall videos are very clickbaity
Ok
Ok so how many GB should I be looking for
Higher than 12 or lower
12 minimum and 16 comfortable for a while @astral spire
However your current card isn't horrid
It's middle of the road performance
Drop a few settings from ultra to medium and you will likely be a comfortable 1440p75
With fsr upscaling to bump it higher
Just saying if you got it already use it
I upgrade gpus every 4 to 5 years and normally go midrange
Ok
I never recommend same or next gpu gen upgrades unless your card done broke
That's a lot
Sad that $500 is a good price for a GPU
midrange
agree 100%
And currently it's close in price to the 6800xt anyway
they basically go back and forth
if its a 10% difference, go with the 6800 XT
I've more hope for the 7800xt when they finally fix the compute bug lol
🙂
?
make sure you keep an eye on drivers
I will
But this is just a compute problem that affects anything RDNA 3 is developed on rn
So what it could mean if it's fixed is big
Like a 7900xtx could bridge the gap between a 4080 and 4090
I just love my 6900 XT, but think I would have been just as happy with a 6800 XT
I am trying to follow the last convo about videocard. I am currently getting to build a new system. and send my buddy my current system. So far my new system I am gonna be building is as follows [ MB: ASUS ROG STRIX z590-E Gaming ] [ CPU i7-11700KF ] [ RAM TG Delta RGB 32gb @ 3600mhz ] [ PSU MSI MPG a1000g ]. I can't decided what to pair for the videocard with my new build. I am looking to spend about 500$ on a new GPU, been looking at the 4070 to throw in the new build but I hear that the 4060ti and 4070 really arnt worth the money. Could anyone steer me in the direction of a good budget card for my build. I mainly play FPS games and do a little bit of lite coding. But am trying to verge out to new games here and there. Thought about checking out Red Dead
I found a PNY 4060 ti 16gb for 519$ or 4070 12gb for 599$ is there something out that would be a better choice then one of these? I am looking for a 3 fan gpu
I suggest, if you're going for a fully new build that's purely gaming, to go with a 7800X3D and a B series board accompanying it
CPU currently is ~350? I think? It's cheap for what it is and what the price was
For GPU I suggest the 7800xt if you want that 500, but it's def not a budget card imo, as it's, well, 500 bucks
The 4070 is, for me, the only Nvidia card I can recommend for 40 series price/perf wise, but still suggest the 7800xt over it
Further you can downsize the PSU at that point probably if you go with either of those cards
And you don't need a 3 fan GPU if you go with anything between a 4060 and a 4070
Or a 7600 and 7800
I already have my 11700 and rog strix z590-e sitting over in the corner.
I like the look of the upright card in the lian li, kinda why I like the 3 fans.
Fair
Is freesync and gsync a big factor on anything?
Not really
So save the 20$ and go with a hellhound 7800 xt instead of a gigabyte 4070 windforce oc 12g
Only reason I ask about those is because the current monitor I got supports free sync and not gsync so thought of going with team red instead of spending more money on a diff monitor.
I am currently running a rtx 3060 ti and enjoy it.
not gonna lie
Which of these is better? ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 x16 ATX Video Card RX7800XT CL 16GO, or PowerColor Red Dragon AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 Memory, Powered by AMD RDNA 2, Raytracing, PCI Express 4.0, HDMI 2.1, AMD Infinity Cache
Ok so it doesn't matter which one I get
Is there a difference between the 6800 and the 6800 xt in terms of performance while gaming
Higher frequency
I still suggest to go 7800xt tho
Unless you can find a 6800xt for 450 or under
Or a 6900xt for ~500
when i go to open alan wake 2 i get a message saying my cpu driver is outdated?
im pretty new to having a pc
what CPU you got?
@noble oak Currently atm I am rocking a MSI MPG z490 gaming force with a i5 10600f with 16gig of t-create by teamgroup that has a 3060 ti in it. but I am gonna be sending this build atm to a friend that ive known for years and build myself a hole new system. So my new system is gonna be a ASUS ROG Strix z590-e, i7 11700kf, 32gigs of team group delta 3600 mhz, but now I am stuck on which card I should get I can spend up to 500$ on any given card, but I just want the best bang for my buck. I really like the 3 fan look because I plan on getting a lian li dynamic evo to run the card upright. really dig the look. also atm I am bidding on a custom loop system. So maybe a card I could run liquid cool with my cpu. it would be the corsair xh305i rgb pro if I win the bid, if not I am gonna be just running corsair aio capellix xt.
@noble oak Also the plan is to find a nice 15" screen to put in the front panel of the glass to use AIDA64 to display my system stats.
if you want best perf per dollar your best choice is AMD probably 6000 series if 500 is your budget
you can get a great card for that on amd side
soo the 6700xt is better than the 7800xt?
the 6700xt better than the 3060ti?
because they both are about the same price point \
I really like
PNY GeForce RTX™ 4060 Ti 16GB XLR8
for an extra 10$ they got the oc verison for it
PNY GeForce RTX™ 4070 12GB XLR8
the 4070 is an extra 80$
thats what I was originally looking at
Because to me it would look good in the upright position in the lian li case
dm if any has any extra parts
@ripe carbon you can find a 3 fan 7800xt easily, and it's still the card I suggest

👍
You can get a 7800xt for $515
It's just on par
And the 7800xt has the prospects of updated drivers
Imo get the 7800xt, unless you're on a budget
Lookin good, id definitely post this in #1059414196858662923
should I buy samsung 970 evo plus?
or you suggest me something better? Please suggest brand SSDs
thought we left 970 evos in 2021
what capacity?
1tb
just get a Z440 then
Or the Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB
They get perpetually updated
And anyway, Samsung's longevity is noteworthy
I do suggest a 2TB over the 1 tho
trying to find a good but cheap option on a motherboard
depends on the socket, for B550 you can't go wrong with the msi Tomahawk
For which CPU?
haven’t decided yet
Iirc that one has a tendency to warm the VRAM up on the board
what do u recommend
How can I install Samsung 870 QVO SSD on my MSI B450 M-A Pro Max Motherboard? If it is compatible can someone help me because I don't know how to do it.
You should have gotten sata cables with your motherboard, check those
Something cheap from MSI or gigabyte iirc is what I recommend
Just make sure to have it as a B series board
what are these like?
Google exists
Nope
can you show me a sata cable
Can confirm, that is a sata cable
Hello Stalyn, I build systems, and I hope you realize that you have in fact set up a workbench system - the shelf where your system is on is designed for a 1-2 day testing and then changing the hardware. It will not last long open like that with enough cooling going through a small room (case). See Asiellre's pic below. Recommend you build one like this as soon as possible.
I am writing this to help you. Your system will most likely break down within 6 months in your setup.
Hi Cinx! I run this SSD and love it! It's blazing fast, and for example, I play Starfield, and Redfall, and Deathloop now, and these three games load maps extremely fast. A few seconds. Get the NVME version if you have that slot.
lololol Love this! Opening the Building a PC chat room for the first time and browsing through. What a picture for a man's cave!! 🙂 Haha.
You really went digging there :D
Glad to be here ,thanks for having this channel guys at Steelseries.
@keen horizon Q70 QVO is also a great choice for SATA connection! Fast and stable SSD. My friend has it in his system.
Wait, you’re using samsung 970 evo plus as you said
And your friend 870 qvo?!?
That is sus
Correct. I am using 970 EVO+ since about 8 months ago when my last SSD died, and he bought an 870 when they were released, because he doesn't do nvme.
I would go with something like that 870QVO if I was not using nvme. I'm mostly storage SSD company neutral but samsung shows a lot of high performance (speed).
I can show you a sys pic if you want some inspiration @keen horizon 🙂
I run display-case style I love RGB and ... especially that cool, calm blue or purple look as I sleep in the same room as this silent sys.
Ok
Liquid cooled CPU, the rest is air cooled. Local disk SSD Samsung sits behind the nVidia card.
Uploading a vid, as its easier to see then.
The motherboard just died on this from overheating so I replaced it with the same one, one model higher, ASrock B550 Pro4 for media/gaming. Had Fatal1ty Gaming one month back.
Got to watch those heat levels...
The PC is quiet, the noice you hear is the AC in the back of me. Edit: It gets really loud with the GPU fan when I start a full screen game 🙂 to keep the GPU under 60 deg celcius.
the RTX card is 11GB GDDR memory, Speccy app doesn't count the GPU memory correctly. hehe.
Which CPU Cooler is that ? I really like the look of it, Currently myself im running a Coolermaster ML120L
lmao
Which CPU and Mainboard work with a RTX 4090 ?
I believe any motherboard and cpu would work with a gpu
your main concern is what cpu works with a motherboard
My suggestion is, if mainly gaming, a 7800X3D with a decent B650
bulllllllshit
Yes
lmao
is a 12400f and a 6800 xt a good combo?
Hi @sick sierra ,NZXT makes some of the most beautiful LCD CPU display screens today. This one is the RGB Elite, for the brighter screen which was necessary for my lighting in my room which usually has lots of ceiling lights on. Check out The Kraken LCD for half the price, and as good cooling. Less bright screen.
I recommend Kraken over Elite unless you are in bright ceiling lighting.
Thank you for that, I’ll look into it ☺️ looks a really clean build you’ve got there
Def not bad, but I'd suggest to look into a 7800X3D and a 6750xt or 6800xt depending on price
32gb of ram arrived to replace my 8gb
just wondering for the futer, ddr4 does not work in a ddr5 motherboard right? I look it up but only got stuff about dd5 on ddr4 motherboard or mismatching them.
What should I chose ddr4 or ddr5 slots on motherboard?
I believe ddr5 is really cheap rn
DDR5 isn't super cheap at all, but the latency benefits (game wise) and minimums you'll see in games imo makes it better
It's much better now but yeah it's still expensive
A good 6000-6600 kit is on par with what a good 3600 was iirc
So it's fine?
Also you generally can only get 32 GB in dual stick configs
Who has a spear 4060 or 4060 ti laying around and can I have it or a 750 watt power supply
@obsidian bluff I have a 800W power supply, only 5000USD. Cheap! Go for it! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🙂
Nice joke. liked it 🙂
Is the LGA 1700 series any good? was thinking about the 12700kf
i will pay for it
bru
12700kf is older by now, I suggest a build with a 7800X3D
it's around, 350-400 I think? USD or EUR
And it overall outperforms whatever Intel has on average
based berry
What is a good motherboard for a price range of 300 to 500
overkill but I like my tachi X670E
but I recommend comparing a few non asus side by side, figure out which ports/features you actually need
then lookup reviews for those models that fit your needs
^^
Pretty much it yeah
You can get an amazing board for way less
Which CPU are you getting?
To All1234, I recommend AMD for saving bundles of money, Intel for a few percent higher performance. In general, AMD is a better choice if you are going for the fastest machine for gaming. In other words, compared to the fastest Intel CPU and the fastest AMD CPU for gaming, you will get the same amount of speed in gaming - however, AMD will save you cash for money off your GPU.
This is what I have learned over several years of building systems.
Some people still need Intel. Totally fine by me.
Yeah, Intel tends to win more, in production, but gaming price/perf and just gaming perf in general currently is in the hands of the 7800X3D
They're both great, just a feeling what you want.
Exsosus is sour... just had to help another person understand why motherboard workstations do not cool the system enough compared to a computer case. Sighs....
Like running a refridgerator, without a door. Works... but not (at all) intelligent.
Motherboard, workstations....?
It's officially called a test bench, I'm sorry my English is not the first language:
This above, is advisable for max a few days before heat wear - tear.
Eeeeeeeh
Depends on how you build it
But those tend to be expensive builds and not recommended if you just want to have it
they're more for testing and overclocking setups
the issue is exposure to the elements
cooling situation is the same if not better
They don't last due to dust exposure
And the lack of pumped air makes it much hotter overall
While sdust is a problem, it doesn't have the "much" hotter issues
the whole stuff is quite meh
for a beginner it's okay tho
compared to 144/165? Not really, you should get a 24" 1080p 16:9 first, preferably 144 Hz if gaming's your priority
Oh, you're back?
It's been a while
But to the rig, overall it's good
Doesn't need anything drastically changed, especially if you just bought
actually there's no reason for me to stay here anymore tbf
i don't use any shitseries garbage anymore

What is better ddr4 or ddr5 in performance not the price
DDR5 with good timings
which would you recommend?
Ask @spring agate , she knows more of it iirc
My first desktop i build was with a i9 13900K a rtx 4090 and 32gb of ram at 7200
I didnt look at price
At least 6000 is so easy to run stable rn
The good ol' days
don't even remember what i had first... iirc it ran at 80 MHz
My first was a 7100, but the 7800X3D I have now is really nice
Yeah I'm late it it all lmao
I'm also just.. A little older
Probably :p
Where...?
@noble oakWhat's the budget?
Jeez
You should be able to get a 7800X3D and a 2TB SSD for that
And a 7800X3D gives more perf, you can later upgrade to 8 or 9000 series if you want to
And 2 TB is relatively cheap for what it used to be
33mhz 68040
Damn you're old
Then you're not that much older than me 😂
I'm in the middle
first PC was a hand me down from my fasha
Technical specifications for the Macintosh Quadra 630. Dates sold, processor type, memory info, hard drive details, price and more.
LOVED THAT THING
bro that things older then me
by 2 times lol
Yup and I sat on the floor floppies of mac os 7.1 in hand dragging files to the trash and restarting to see how it broke. And now I do pen testing and cyber security
lmaoo
1994 though
holy
with a sweet amount of 4mb ram
thats nice that you grew up playing with it
Oh I got my ASS handed to me when I realized he was behind me yelling "what the hell did you just do" when the sad Mac icon came up
Hand me down mac
That was very common
ohh
was the mac not?
bro
theyre all selling for $1000+ right now
what steelseries item do you have?
commadore 64 was innexpensive and marketed to the masses, Macs were very expensive by comparison to most PCs due to lower production volumes
then Steve jobs came with the iMac, threw the entire history of the Mac and the genius who created them away (yes I know steve jobs was there at the start too), and threw away all the open and inclusivity wozniack wanted to foster to turn them into design pieces with a status symbol pricing to match
I remember when Wozniack was on dancing with the stars, on air jailbroke kathy griffith's iphone and said "you aren't cool unless you jailbreak" causing apple PR to panic
well, computers back then were around 2-4 thousand I think, with macs often at the upper end just because they weren't produced at scale
the quadra was a low end machine, and it was $1300
$1,300 in 1994 is worth $2,699.90 today
Damn
That’s like
Really expensive
Plus peiple didn’t know what they were much right
erm, was that a sentence?
what were you trying to say
"know what they were much right"
I ment like
what the heck does that mean
People didn’t really use pcs at that time right
So they wouldn’t justify paying that price?
well, no. PC market was primarily to buisnesses, and dialup internet was only just a thing
to put in perspective.... go to speedtest and give me your internet speed
Can't be worse than my old setup
50mbps
ok, one sec
Alrigjt
470 down, 347 up
But up peaked at 500
But it was so much worse
or 28.8 Kbps = 3.6 KBps, if you were lucky you had 56kbps with under 7 KBps with a 56k baud modem
so.... by context at BEST.... 7 KBPS (normally averaged 5.5) = .0068 MBps
6.25 MBps is = to 919x speed of the 90s
or 1 second of your download would take 15.3 minutes to do
well. I work via my home internet, so around 300 Mbps
but honestly, above 16 is good for just about anything
don't let ANYONE tell you that you need "FAST" internet for gaming
LAG and latency =! download speed
well, thats because you are investing in a stolen franchise
Stolen?
Wdym
COD was created by infinity ward back in the 2000's. Activision (I believe) contracted and bought the company as part of an agreement for the next few days, with the largest payout being at the end of the game creation agreement.
like 3 days before a multi-billion payout was due to the devs of the game, they fired the lot of them, and due to the terms of the contract ended up getting the rights to the franchise
they lost in court and had to pay, but this was years later, and were able to retain the rights to the franchise they attempted to steal
Oh damn
No wonder I’ve bought the same game 3 times in a row lol
MW, MW2 MW3
ALL THE SAME BRO
welcome to the concept of burning money and learning to make better choices
yup, again, wasting money
They somehow made it able to die after a year
And want to buy the next one
Probs how they’re so rich
you paid 70 dollars for 18 months of support
Wait u in us?
yerp
Ohh
Nah but apparently fifas worse
They cut out the server of a old game when a new one releases
ok... my friend, my friend. Let's teach you the wonders of single player games and games with standalone servers
actual plot, story, gameplay vs just repetitive loop of the same 10 minutes of gameplay
Actually really good, god damn
I got a 1660 super and a 1440 and I had 8gb of ram and this was above average normally when I played with friends
I need help check general
please do not ping in multiple channels
what's the difference between omni point 1 vs omni point 2. And whats keyboard will best for me. (70%work(typing,krypto) and 30% games like fortnite/lol) I will be very grateful
The Razer seems better in my opinion and is what I would go for but there is a price difference of 20$ there
I think the razer looks more ergonomic but also depends on your hand size, and I don't know how the friction on their feet are so you could watch a video.
Well, just see what feels best then
I heard that's good
Difference is something that, if you don't use it, doesn't matter too much
Check if the 7 has switches you like, otherwise look at the Apex 5 or the Apex pro
What's a good and cheap monitor that I can buy?
and third party servers
thats good
wait what steelseries thing do you have?
im looking for one too lol
Samsung has some, that's what I have
Arctis nova 7 and the rainbow flair
Why
For kb I got a ducky one 3
Ohh
Ohh with a good refresh rate
Just wondering lol
for 200 you can guy 144hz 2k monitors 🙂
btw thatss 240 not 165
oh ups
idk ngl if it would make that big of a diff
ill go...
painfully average and not good for anything competitive
Oh lol
I need a 244
if you got 240fps go for it, but it should be an ips panel, i'd rather go 1440p 144hz ips though, around the same price
Remember too above 144 is often hard to see, requires lower quality settings and alot more cost for power
you will only notice it really if you do competitive enough
And I think at this point OLED has come far enough that it's better for high refresh due to it's very nature
yeah don't really have a choice with OLED but to go 240 sometimes
like the 27GR95QE and PG27AQDM
then leave xD
advice or changes on this build? storage is covered but not sure what to do about mb just yet. i have a computer already but upgrading it - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/t4nvZJ
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6750 XT, MSI MPG GUNGNIR 110R ATX Mid Tower
Look if you can find a 7800XT for around that price
Should be possible
For the rest, the Peerless Assassin scores well, I'm not entirely sure about this cooler
For the rest, no notes, solid build
Thank you
Damnit they’re all real expensive like a good $200-$300 CAD more than the 6750xt, i was gonna go with nvidia but i hear great things about the amd cards
My bad
Yeah then it's fine
No, it'(s my fault
Do see for a 6800xt, but otherwise, yeah, just get it
I appreciate your help
yes its a good monitor i have it
what is better for a 4060 ti for power supply 650 or 750 or do i need more
it depends on your cpu
but personaly I would go for a 1000W Power Supply If you wanna upgrade later
no im not and if i did i would buy a new pc my cpu is i5 12400f
then 750 is more than enough
I think even a 650W should be enough
yea probably
hey
does anyone have any gaming laptop recommendations? it's for a friend. He wants a 1tb ssd if possible, and something good enough to run minecraft on good settings + shaders and texture packs
I'd know a bit about it if it was PCs but idk anything about laptops so I'd rather ask someone who knows than say some bs
Honestly you can't go wrong with a lot, but I suggest to get the AMD X3D laptop CPU
One sec
A 7745 mobile CPU
Could you send me an example maybe?
uhhhh I forgot to mention the price
that seems.. AT LEAST.. very expensive
I can't find the price anywhere though
oh ok it's 3.2k euros
welp.. do you have something around 900€?
@weary flame
Gl finding something really good
Try a Ryzen 7000 CPU
damn didn't know they threw 3d cache into mobile
which country?
Germany
@gilded glacier this is a little over budget but it's the best in the price range https://geizhals.de/acer-nitro-5-an515-57-705n-nh-qcbev-005-a2535392.html?hloc=de
or if he can't go over: https://geizhals.de/msi-gf63-thin-12vf-1030-0016r8-1030-a3030865.html?hloc=de
why geizhals? (just asking btw cause I don't know about it)
oh also it needs to be windows
ooh
so can you also use it literally as a pc part list?
cause prices on pcpartpicker are often very different in countries other than US

not sure why nbb sells all their laptops without windows but it's easy enough to install
hmm
sorry, if it'd be for me it'd be much easier
but I don't know 100% what my friend wants. He just said that he wants windows, and as I said here:
why are all of them non-Windows 😭
could you check this one out I'm not allowed in the website https://geizhals.de/redir/AQAAAHi9B9XHVBTpD8h9b8IP5xC3Ikd4zYNenx7Aks3y8Oq0TUVwnwOLkEnP-y-_txmkgdtOlXyx2IasWgr9tQFlqJh3erhO9FCTX5LLS_X0EL_6l0IvGAVu1lRbsXZ2cAI-AQYlR295hyvmzjq8AeCK4-FM6s4QltnM_8cEXOF7s8q_ze1tc1E9nyxBUx2e4PTzKLKmuFjQtfIOpOHYZtnyRZTOaWhObFXPAuBRYjrv7XCWuaArX-ECUVJwHQB0b6AKwdXjPlGccU4JA66lGyvad6E6yFAQZqhxL95No8ii2Xfact2yzxHMHHfQVLIeGcoYQw
DOS
Installing windows is not that hard) Mostly laptop with windows cost 200$ more for windows license)
it's not hard but he doesn't know anything about pcs really
and doesn't trust me to do it either
for some reason
the laptop itself is good, but it's DOS (which tbh I don't know what it means)
I know it's disk operating system but idk what it means
probably freeDOS or something, Windows was also DOS once 💀
then that's not good, is it?
oh it just says "Kein Betriebssystem" (No Operating System)

these two are the cheapest with a 1tb ssd
I'm guessing this one would be better?
Thanks btw
jo
btw
I still don't understand which is better.
AMD or Intel?
not related to the laptops at all
Amds high end prossesors are better in gaming but intels are better in pretty much everything else
hm
I heard that it's the opposite
Because of AMDs usually having faster multicore speeds, therefore being better at multitasking and basically doing a lot of stuff at the same time
While intel has slower multicore speeds, but its singlecore speed being crazy. Idk though that's probably just scratching the surface of whatever the reason actually is
That's not really true?
Neither of those points?
Like dual CCD products generally have issues with gaming due to latency if the game doesn't have tight rules on those
But the 7800X3D is really good with it being a single CCD
Intel is also still really good in gaming and, while overall, loosing to AMD agaisn tthe 7800X3D, it still has solid scaling and competitiveness to non X3D parts
Further both are better or worse in different workloads
I forgot which ones, but both are better at some, and worse at others
I'm having good results with my 7950x3d
Does require the driver though for ccd association
More so Xbox game bar, or did the change that?
I've a 7800X3D so I don't have to deal with it lmao
Yeah it's annoying but easy
Not really messing with it too much
For me the bigger issue that Xbox game bar is like, literally so broken, I cannot properly use it and I don't want to anymore
Oh I never touch it
Literally at first game boot I check a box
Then it's basically all feature disabled
planning to upgrade from a Ryzen 5800/3060. Mostly playing Tarkov and ARK.
Anything I should swap? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gVbTPF
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower
Fuck
Yeah,completely fair ngl
Lower memory speed, Ryzen 7000 doesn't cope that well yet, but it's become better by a lot
Two sticks at 6600 is possible now, but you still need luck
6000 is stable
being honest, if you got a 5800, its likely going to go to waste unless you are doing production workloads. The GPU upgrade is legit, but a CPU upgrade and whole PC upgrade will not truely affect your gaming worth the investment.
that being said, Thermalright Phantom Spirit is a better cooler IIRC (I have the assassin 120)
Ram make sure to get EXPO memory if you can, and 6000 is the sweet spot, above that you get minor gains but alot more instability https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/memory/cmh32gx5m2b6000z30k/vengeance-rgb-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-dram-6000mt-s-c30-amd-expo-memory-kit-cmh32gx5m2b6000z30k
those are some of the best because they have Hynx memory and lowest in class EXPO latency
it's the "sweetspot" for price stuff
Thanks for the tips!
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/87WyVW
I think I've got those swaps in.
Are you talking about general gaming regarding the CPU, or tarkov specifically? From what I understand from the community you get a significant performance improvement from the X3D chips because of the cache.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
It's a gen on gen switch, with a midrange GPU. You aren't going to get any true benefit outside of a placebo effect
I would upgrade the GPU and put the money back into the bank
I had a 8600k, a 5 year old CPU with a 6900 XT, and upgrading to a 7950X3D had maybe a 5-10% increase. Can't imagine your increases are going to really do anyhting beyond the GPU itself
What Sire Salty said. Get a 4070ti and a 1000w power supply and have way, way more fps than with whats in your plan.
and dont let yourself get confused or panicced by "OmG YouRe BoTtLeNeCkeD" LTT fanbois.
my brother is running a 4070ti on a 8600K (i think, its z290 platform) - pcie 3.0, BoTtLeNeCkEd in theory, still outperforming me in most titles while i run 5800X / 3080ti
Thanks for your experience!
Are those titles including tarkov? I'm not trying to be a snob or anything, that's just specifically what I play mostly, and from what I know it's an odd duck.
I believe the 5800x is slightly more powerful than the 5800, correct?
I know these are not the 7800x3d. I've compared a lot of benchmarks for them, but these show 13-30% improvement with a midrange GPU from the previous generation
~13% https://youtu.be/3NO9knvuTYg?t=108
Hopefully the confusion is understandable.
I still suggest to get the 7800XT
Way better price/perf
Don't ever go for the "oh but this perform better for % price increase"
ew 4070
@worldly topaz I recommend if you want an upgrade, get the 7800 XT and make no other changes to your system
^^
if you don't need a CPU upgrade
Wait for 8000 to come out, get a 7800X3D for cheap with a B650 or something
So you get the benefits of a new socket for less than now
yeah if you dont care about frame generation and DLSS 3 , get an AMD card.
