The omnipoint switches are adjustable allowing for better performance in different situations. If you were playing a shooter game, and you wanted to have quick key presses, you could adjust the actuation point to 0.4mm deep key press. For reference, this type of press would be almost touch sensitive. If you were typing something and you wanted deep key presses, you could adjust the actuation point to that. Even though the whole keyboard isn't omnipoint (the control keys being red switches) it's definitely worth the extra stretch of money.

If you can hear yourself breathing in the mic it's too close. When people complain they can't hear you it's too far. I would say 3 fingers from your mouth is maybe a decent distance? If we are talking headset mics ofcourse.
