I recently bought a Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless Headset, which has a 2,4 GHz wireless Dongle with USB-C. I tried to buy a Lightning (male) to USB-C (female) adapter to use them with my iPhone however that didn't work. Now I thought about whether a 3,5mm jack (male) to USB-C (female) adapter would work with my wireless (dongle) headset or is it rather out of bounds trying to port digital to analogue to digital again?

I know normally with full wired setup this would require extra power, but with a wireless dongle could this maybe work somehow?

"The reason why the lightning adapter didnt work is because iphones dont support usb on the go, which means you cant just plug random usb devices into it
It is theoretically possible to use a 3.5mm headphone jack to usb c adapter, however

1. It would need to be actively powered, as it needs to convert the analog signal to a digital signal
2. It needs to be able to act as a usb host device
   There is, to my knowledge, nothing built for this purpose on the market
   You could get a raspberry pi, audio input here, headset there, battery pack for portability, done
   But at that point id just recommend getting a headset that supports bluetooth"
   if someone ever has that very same question this is the answer
