Unfortunately no. The volume wheel on your keyboard will only adjust the volume of whatever your default system output is set to. So if you're using Sonar it only changes the volume of the Game channel unless you set one of the other channels as your system sound output

Hey, Arctis 7 user here, anyone else experiencing issues with their microphone and Discord? My microphone seems to work properly, but, the second Discord tries to use it (whether it's a call or just testing my mic in settings) the mic fully bricks itself until I restart my computer.

It doesn't happen all the time, it's like 50% of times. Seems to be affected by people leaving/joining voice channels too.

I'm on the latest version of Windows 11, latest version of Sonar/GG.

I'm installed the dongle on my PC i've plugged the dongle into the main USB ports on the main board not a hub. I have them connecte thougth bluetooth and i can hear audio from my PC. Wow.. Steelseries went full tard with the new DAC. You have to install their bloatware in order to use ChatMix. Are you kidding me? The Arctis Pro Wireless had this working from DAC without any software and you had a screensaver for the base screen. That Chatmix move was done for obvious reasons, to force you to use their crapware. The lack of ability for a screensaver or to turn off the display is just laziness.

sonar is for audio so you probably wouldn't use it with a mouse. though there is the customization in Engine to rebind buttons and change the mouse's DPI/sensitivity

Excuse me, I bought Arctis Nova 5X and the SteelSeries program is incredibly stupid in its logic. Normal behavior: your headset is off, the sound is on your external sound card. The headset is on: the sound is on your headset. It is simply impossible to have this basic and obedient behavior such that the headset settings are applied to a "GAME" "CHAT" "AUX" mixing zone... and not to a specific physical output. In addition, you lose your 5.1 settings on your external card if you put it in the same mix as the headset, and you end up with virtualized spatial sound instead of real. Do the people who make this application really know anything about audio?

I can only speak to the first half as I don't use 5.1 sound at all. Yes you can. If you have a supported headset you can use the fallback feature to have Sonar play sound through a different device when the wireless headset is detected to be off

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

This function takes control of my external source and applies the headset settings to my sound kit: I lose the 5.1, and it applies an equalizer set for the headset to my sound kit: it is unusable, the two sources cannot have the same setting.

For those who have the same problem as me, functional configuration:

• Disable the sonar function.
• Use only the headset equalizer in the "Engine" section.
• Use the default Windows panel "output device" to quickly switch from headset to others output.
• This way, the headset equalizer bug that gets lost does not seem to appear when you turn it off / on again (not tested for long).

Esay simple and efficient configuration for a program update, add this function when the sonar is not active:

• Let the user choose a priority source (non-virtual, selection according to the windows panel) which will be activated when the headset is turned off.
• when the headset is detected on, automatic switch of the windows sound source on the headset.

It's an entry level keyboard with a membrane/mechanical combination switch so it has a somewhat unique feel.
I personally thing it's good for its low price.
It doesn't support rapid trigger, that's a Pro only feature.
I don't think the keyboard will get in the way of silver but there are more expensive options that might help more 😄

hey guys, just bought an Arctis Nova Pro Wireless because I heard there was little to no audio leak at high volumes, but when I test it it's exactly the same as my old headset, you can hear everything that's playing from outside. is there a fix to this, or am I missing something? super disappointed.

Hello everyone, Yesterday I purchased a set of the Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro Wired. I come from the Astro gaming line of headphones I have used them since 2011 until yesterday A40s and 1 set of Gen 5 A50s.

after about 5 minutes of use I found myself really enjoying the sound quality, but I hate the fact I can hear myself inside due to the ear cup material or design. (Think when you are super congested and or sick and you can kind of hear yourself every time you speak) This is a near deal breaker for me, So I immediately went on amazon and purchased two replacements, One the Wicked Cushions cooling ear cups the other being the TRANSTEK ear cups they are basically just like a memory foam but all fabric no leather.

They both arrived today and after a short bit of use with them I can say they improved my complaint some but they didn't remove the issue completely. I don't know if I am just expecting the sound clarity outside of the headphones to be clear like with the Astro's I've had for the past decade and a half or if I can't move past it.

My hopes of this post are to hopefully get feedback from all of you guys who have some type of aftermarket ear cups that have no noise cancelation / weird self-feedback when talking. I am really looking for an Astro A40/A50 style of ear cup pad where there isn't much material there at all, and you can hear outside noise/conversation clearly or very closely.

Also wanted to add I order the Wicked Cushions StealthZ edition as they look very similar to the Astro ear cups, they sadly won't be here until the end of the month so until then I am open to looking at and trying others. (Hopefully for sale on Amazon so they can be returned if they don't work.)

I am excited to have and join the Steel Series family if I can work past this issue. Let me know your feedback.

closest thing to it is your motherboards chipset drivers which helps windows communicate with your motherboard more effectively - which some people could argue is beneficial to your cpu (it isnt)

I have an Arcis Nova 7 wireless, and since the last Windows 11 update last week, the option to connect to my headphones has vanished from the Steelseries GG software. It's still there in the Windows sound tray, but missing from Steelseries GG. But only the headphones, the microphone can still be selected. This just seems crazy to me. I recommend you watch a YT tutorial for the best setup for your headset, Sonar changed the way my headset sounds entirely & for the better after doing this.

I cant stand the software. Setting it up like it should messes with my other hardware. Not being able to use the volume wheel on my keyboard like i used to, resetting every time the headset turns off etc etc. I just want something simple that doesnt mess with my audio sources
